More rambles as I read the Solo Leveling novel (chapters 4-7)

I like seeing the other hunters' reactions in the novel. They weren't shown as much in the manhwa or the anime, but it seems more realistic with how doubtful the others were of Jinwoo when he said they needed to bow to the god statue to them relying solely on Jinwoo was he was correct

It’s funny how the iconic smile of the god statue in the manhwa doesn’t happen in the novel (yet? The statue either seems only emotionless or angry. It's expression is also described as arrogant though I don't know if that means it's smiling or not)

Jinwoo also carries Juhee rather than just pulling her along while running. I can see why people ship them (I personally see them as platonic, but it’s cute)

I didn’t mention this last time, but I like how the novel has more of an emphasis on Mr. Park needing money to help his pregnant wife and child as well as the other hunters also needing money. It makes it more realistic how they don’t necessarily want to risk their lives to protect other people from dungeon breaks but have to do so to provide for themselves and their families. It might seem selfish, but it’s something a lot of people tend to do to have a better life

Forgot about this earlier, the most surprising thing so far was the system having a female voice? I can understand why this wasn’t implemented into the manhwa, but I wish they could have included this in the anime

One of his favourite things to do is wrap you up in his arms, Jinwoo works out for him, but he also works out for you so that he’s got the frame to keep you nice and safe, as well as warm whenever you’re hugging him.

The boys had heard enough stories about you from Jinwoo that it was impossible for them not to like you when they met you. It was one of the advantages of Jinwoo being the leader, he could make sure that they were all nice around you when they met you so that you could feel comfortable and welcomed.

Nothing else matters to Jinwoo when he knows that you’re upset, he forgets about anything else going on and focuses only on you. The chores that rely on strength are definitely Jinwoo’s forte, he loves to be able to show off to you how masculine he can be by using his muscles to keep the condition of the house looking good. Nothing other than perfection was going to be accepted by Jinwoo when it came down to his proposal, he wanted even the smallest of details to be as precise as he wanted as possible to make sure that you’d like it. There were a lot of nerves in the build up too, for a couple of days beforehand you noticed Jinwoo acting a little bit odd, which was soon explained when he got down on one knee and proposed to you.

Jinwoo’s favourite thing about being with you was how happy he was when he was around you. The two of you were definitely the most settled couple of your friendship group, you had your routine together which you loved, and had a good balance of time together and time apart too. You loved having that crown over your heads, you considered yourselves incredibly comfortable with one another which was great.

Most of the time the two of you preferred to stay in and just do your own things with each other. As much as you loved the company of other people, when you had to spend most of your day surrounded by people at work, it was nice for the two of you to spend the evenings in your own little worlds again.

Although he’s not the tallest, Jinwoo won’t be afraid to shift his frame and insert his arm around you when he wants to block you off.

The boys especially loved to joke with the two of you how they had set you up with plenty of experience for when you decided to settle down. You couldn’t deny it either, Jinwoo seemed to have skipped a stage in life, already being the grandma, hoping to go back and become a dad at some point with you too.

You only really tend to get lazy afternoons with Jinwoo, as he still likes to reserve his mornings for the gym, even if he has got the day off. As much as sometimes you want him to stay in bed a little bit longer with you, most of the time you can’t help but be in awe of his dedication to keeping himself in shape and healthy, especially when he gets home from the gym too and wraps you up in his nicely defined body.

By far you are the one that wakes up earlier in the mornings, you’re often having to shake Jinwoo awake to make sure that he gets up. It’s very rare for him to wake up before his alarm, but he knows as soon as his alarm goes off, you’ll be on top of him straight away and shaking him awake to get sorted for work.

When the two of you wind down for the nights, you try and do your routines together. You’ll both be in the bathroom most nights, following each other step by step as you brushed your teeth and did your skincare too.

Jinwoo was obsessed with your heart, he loved how loving you towards him more than anything else. It didn’t matter how bad of a day he had had, Jinwoo knew that he was never alone when you were around.

you check the time on your phone and it’s only three am when it feels like you have tried to fall asleep for what felt like hours. you sit up in bed and rub your tired red eyes, fearing for when your alarm would start going off alerting you to start your day when you hadn’t even finished the last. in your sluggish haste you dialled your boyfriend’s number with empty hope that’ll he will pick up...

it took him a while to answer, as expected he was fast asleep. but when he was dragged finally dragged so far outside of his sleep cycle to notice that his phone was ringing, he shot up so fast and answered immediately. when jinwoo heard your voice on the other end he became even more concerned than he already was. why were you awake at this time? was something troubling you? were you in danger? this worried leader bear would not stop worried leadering, he can’t help it, it’s in his nature to be concerned about you. however when you said you just found it a bit hard to sleep and wanted to hear his voice, he softened (a just a bit though he’s still nag you a bit but it was all out of love). jinwoo would then spend the rest of the call’s duration talking softly about his day and things he’s been interested in lately. and maybe MAYBE sing a short lullaby for you really really quietly (so quiet you’d think he’s whispering). in between all his sweet actions he never fails to tell you he loves you and that he’s so extremely proud of you no matter what you do. he wouldn’t end the call until you’ve been silent for 20 minutes and hears your heavy breathing from the other side of the line.

“you want me to sing for you? really bubs, is there anything else- okay, okay, but only because i love you so much my beautiful amazing y/n. if you ever feel like this again please call me, i don’t care what time, your wellbeing is my number one priority”

when it comes to you he would be all bright n’ smiley, no matter how tired he actually was. you knew he had musical promotions coming up which is why you wanted to avoid calling him during the later hours of the day as much as possible. but you should know myungjun is always up to talk to you no matter the time place or day: you’re his love why wouldn’t he? when he answered your call he tried to mask the tiredness in his voice by speaking in a chirpier tone than usual, you laughed at his attempt and said you were going to end the call to let him rest. myungjun of course would never let you have the final say so he started to whine until you gave in and continued to talk to him. then he insisted you guys face timed his excuse being “if i don’t see your face i am physically unable to go to sleep” complete bullshit, but that’s what you love about him. when you answered his face time request he had the biggest shit eating grin on his face. you’d guys would be on call for about an hour telling shitty jokes, blowing raspberries at the screen and talking about places you’d like to visit when you’re both less busy. myungjun only agreed to end the call when both of you struggled intensely to keep your eyes open.

good chances are he’s awake and can’t seem to sleep, not being able to clear his head to the point of exhaustion. eunwoo was fully prepared to spend the rest of the night awake. maybe he could do something more useful with his time and catch a nap on set later in the day. kicking off his covers, he was planning to get out of bed but then he got your call. out of all the members i feel eunwoo would be the happiest to get a call from you at this time of night (all of the members wouldn’t really mind but eunwoo would love getting calls like this, it made him feel liked you needed him). when he picked up and there was no hint of sleepiness in his tone you got worried. for the first few minutes all the call was you two sweetly bickering. “why are you still awake-” “well why are you?” “you called me first” “well if you were fast asleep you wouldn’t pick up” and more cute shit like that. talking to you at times like this would bring him so much strength and he really treasures it. something about your silly sleep deprived conversations feels so intimate to him and it sets his heart alight. when he can tell you’re drifting off, he makes sure to tell you he loves you once more before trying to get some sleep himself. the sounds of you soft half-awake sighs would lull him into a deep sleep and you would only notice he never ended the call when you wake up to your phone’s battery being on 3% and the sound of a snoring eunwoo.

“i’ve noticed i don’t sleep as well without you in my arms. i miss your sleepy voice, it’s like a lullaby to me. when i see next you i’m never letting you leave my sight again.”

is it just me or does anyone else think our binnie has a slight temper when he’s woken up from sleep. it wouldn’t last for long but he’ll be very cranky and frustratedly pouty if his alarm had gone off or one of the members started shouting in the dorm when he’s trying to have a lie in. he’d wouldn’t be any different when he heard his phone ringing from the bedside table. he was so tempted to fling that thing out the window. when it went off for the third time he answered the call clumsily almost missing the answer button. in a pissed sleepy voice he answered “what do you want?” you taken aback by your normally sweet boyfriend’s bluntness, whispered a quick apology before ending the call. moonbin felt so awful when he was realised it was you. the last thing this boy wants to do is hurt your feelings and he was angry at himself for denying you in a time of need (now we have a really frustrated pouty bin). he immediately called you back and apologised a lot (even after you said it was fine, his every other sentence was filled with sweet sorry’s and kissy noises just to make sure you don’t hate him) moonbin would calmly ask why you called and got a bit worried when you said you couldn’t sleep. bin would scold you lightly for maybe staring at your screen for too long or not taking as many breaks as he thought you needed. but then again he would comfort you and ask if there’s anything you’d like to get off your chest. after letting you rant he gave his best advice and the most loving and encouraging words he could. you fell asleep to the sounds of his praise and bin couldn’t have felt better.

“baby i’m so so sorry, you know i would never deny you like that on purpose, please don’t be hurt. you’re worth so much to me, i couldn’t bare for you to be upset with me. you know how much i care about you love, right?” *ensue more pouty and whiny bin waffle*

minhyuk would be wide awake when you call him. he feels like one of those people who finds it really relaxing to go on runs in the early morning, watching the sunrise by the river; seeing streets around him get busier as the city starts waking up. he would be in his kitchen filling up his water bottle, hearing his phone ring from the island behind him. his eyes glanced at the contact name and he smiled. minhyuk answered your call like he would answer any other, failing to realise that it was going on 4am and you had things to do in the next few hours. after hearing that you couldn’t sleep he would chuckle and joke around “what’s the thing keeping my y/n from sleeping? tell me and i’ll beat the shit out of the thing ” (not lying he would punch the air around you if you said it was bothering you, he really is that whipped). i don’t think the conversation would hold anything in particular. it would just be mindless small talk and random thoughts as rocky is getting himself ready for his run. it would be so light hearted and sweet, this is what most of your relationship is like and why you love minhyuk so much. everything is so chill and thoughtless with him, you match each other so well. you could say something and nine times out of ten he is thinking the same thing. after sometime he would say he had to end the call because if not he’d miss the sunrise. you complained playfully that he was choosing the sun over you and minhyuk found it funny; promising to make it up to you in one way or another. but you didn’t expect to be woken up by the clattering of pans and cups caused by your clumsy boyfriend, in your kitchen trying to make you breakfast.

“ahh don’t worry y/n, i would never need the sun when i have you with me. you make me so happy you’re like my own personal sunshine. try and get some rest and you’ll wake up to pictures of the sunrise that reminds me so much of you.”

out of all six members, he would be the only one not to pick up. sanah obviously wouldn’t do it on purpose, he loves you way too much to ignore you like that. he probably left his phone to charge in another room or in a more likely scenario poor bubs was just so tired he couldn’t wake up. even if you threw water on him our maknae wouldn’t budge. so when you called, his phone was just vibrating on the table untouched. after the fifth go you just stopped trying to reach him and started up at your celling hoping tiredness would reach you soon. in the morning when sanah checked his phone and saw all your missed calls, colour drained from his face and he’d get so panicky that he’d almost drop his it. he called back immediately, flooding your exhausted state with so many questions it would make anyone lightheaded. when telling him you just wanted to hear his voice hoping it would help you sleep, he replied with “did you end up getting any sleep then?” and when all he was met with was silence from your end, his heart dropped. he was so angry at himself and would never let it go that he was the reason you didn’t sleep (he wasn’t but trust me for the next week he’d go to bed with his phone right behind his ear). sanah would tell you to get your laptop ready with a show you’d been meaning to watch because he was coming over for a nap n’ movie date. when you tried to object because you had things to do that day he told you no but’s and he’d cancel work/school/your meet up with friends for you. in no time he showed up at your door in his pyjamas with two plastic bags, filled with extra blankets and your favourite sweet and savoury snacks.

“what do you mean you didn’t get any sleep and did some work instead? sweetcheeks you know that’s horrible for your health, i can’t have you being sick, it would break me knowing i was the reason. you know what? get your netflix account up i’m coming over- no excuses, i’ll handle everything else, now go get ready to be attack with my love.”

“Psst.”

You turn your head immediately as the teacher keeps talking about the usual boring topics.

“Y/n.” You hear whispers from the other side and turn to you friend, Jinwoo who was curious if you’re going to the prom, not yet asking if you have a date to the most exciting day of school year.

-“What?” You dramatically reply, trying not to catch too much attention from the other classmates but it seems like everyone are looking at you two. “Prom.” He mouths and as you just successfully read his lips, the teacher cuts you off. -“Am I interrupting you two, Miss and Mr?” The teacher says, crossing his arms against his chest and the entire class turn to look at you, except for one person.

You bow your head towards the teacher and apologize, feeling your cheeks heat up from embarrassment, slapping your own forehead and laugh.

“Are you dumb? Do you realize you always get y/n in trouble?” Minhyuk says coldly to Jinwoo, without looking at his direction as his hand keeps writing sentences in his notebook. -“Hey, it’s not that Mr. Kim didn’t say anything to me though. I also get myself in trouble.” Jinwoo replies with a giggle and sticks the pen between his teeth. -“Why do you even care? I’m her friend just like you are.” He raises an eyebrow, and goes back to not listening to a word Mr. Kim says.

The bell rings, after packing your things, you head to your friends’ desk as you always do but notice their both indifferent expressions.

“What’s wrong with you two?” You laugh, it takes you a few seconds to realize they’re annoyed by each other. -“Nothing, let’s just have lunch.” Minhyuk says and pushes Jinwoo’s shoulder slightly as he walks out of the classroom.

“Park Minhyuk.” You call him by his full name, and they both know that there’s a reason to be worried when you do so. He stops but never turns around to you, you face his back, Jinwoo follows his own lead and heads to the cafeteria.

-“Nothing, he never notices he gets you in trouble.” Minhyuk says when he turns to you and you take a step closer. “Are you talking about what happened in class?” You ask and he nods, making eye contact with you finally. “Why would- ugh Minhyuk!” You sigh, grab his wrist and drag him to the cafeteria. “We do it all the time, don’t let it bother you, I don’t want my two best friends to be annoyed by each other with that sulky face you two have.” He looked down because you didn’t notice he cares for you more than you think he does, but he didn’t even mean to fight for you to know it.

“Yah, what’s that-OH my god.” The next morning was lovely until Jinwoo entered the classroom with a bruise under his eyes, looks like it was bleeding until not long ago.

-“Y/n. Just leave it.” He gripped onto your wrist, slightly harsh at first but as soon as he realized it, he let go. “Minhyuk did it to you, didn’t he?” You ask and he just walks to his seat and places his backpack on Minhyuk’s seat, you didn’t take a second to understand you were right and that Minhyuk won’t come to school today.

You took your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans, texting Minhyuk.

You: What tf park minhyuk?!!!

It took him only few seconds to read your message, wondering what he should respond with.

Hyuk: You just never realize who’s the bad guy in situations y/n

You: Wtf are you talking about? I realize what I see and that’s your damn punch in Jinwoo’s face

Hyuk: You’re doing that again

You: doing what???

Hyuk: defending him. Like you always do.

You knew that he’s only uses punctuation marks whenever he’s upset or serious.

You: I’m coming over, I hate maths anyways

He left you on seen, usually you would care if he left you on seen but you weren’t in the mood getting more confused nor angry because of him.

You and Minhyuk are close as siblings, that you had a spare key to his house. Little did you know he’s feelings for you were more than for a sister.

“Minh-“ you knock on his door, calling his name but he opens it before you get to finish it, he noticed the smell of your perfume as he always does from kilometers away. “I need explanations.” You say, stepping inside and closing the door behind you. -“I think you need some coffee first.” He says and heads to the fridge to get you a can of your favorite coffee flavor.

“Now explain.”

-“I have nothing to explain.”

He takes a seat on the sofa, turns on the TV and sits back comfortably. Your jaw dropped since you never saw him acting like that. “That’s not you Minhyuk, what the hell is going on?”

He doesn’t even spare a look at you, just playing with the remote control and looking for something random to watch on Netflix. “Listen, I came all the way here from school-“

-“That’s 4 minutes away.”

“Shut up,” you grab the remote from his hand and turn off the TV, it was way too much for you for one morning.

-“Why can’t you never see things as they are? You’re too complicated y/n.” He sits up, a vein is showing on his forehead. “What things? Are we not speaking the same language? I can’t understand you lately.” You sigh, exhausted from all this.

-“You take his side, when I am the one to always take yours.” He confesses, makes you look up at him, he looks upset. “Well I’m sorry but he didn’t PUNCH YOUR FACE EARLY IN THE MORNING?!”

-“I was nervous and furious. Do you really think I would be able to do that just because I have a fist?”

“What do you mean-“

-“I did it because he always harms you and you don’t even notice… aish.” He mumbles the last word under his breath and stands up, heading to the kitchen.

“What’s up with you two recently? Acting strange like-“ you follow him while saying those words, suddenly he pushes you against the wall lightly yet too fast for your brain to realize what he just did. “Minhy-“ you were about to call him but he acts quicker than you can concentrate and attaches his lips against yours, holding your neck with one hand as the other is on the wall behind you.

-“Still don’t realize anything?” He asks as he pulls away, his face is still few inches from yours, his lips taste like the greatest coffee flavor. “I don’t think so, try again.” You tell him, pulling him by the shirt closer to you, tilting your head and tasting his lips.

“Dumbass.” You say once you pull away, both of you can’t help but smile at each other, hearts racing. “Why would you punch his face?” You we’re still on cloud nine from his chaste kisses but had to figure things out. -“He likes you too, dumbass.” He repeats after you.

“Who else does?” You ask with a smirk, trying to make him say that, still gripping on his shirt.

-“Ah- exhausting.” He rolls his eyes.

-“I like you, a lot, y/n.” He finally says, his eyes shine like the brightest star in the night skies.

“Okay, that’s still not a reason.” You tease him, you could swear he can hear the beating of your heart after he said those words.

“I like you too, Minhyuk. Dumbass.”

-“Is that my second name now?”

“Good idea.”

-“Don’t even think about it-“

You cut him off by pulling him again for a sweet kiss.

You groaned. Yet again, Eunwoo had managed to get himself into a lot of trouble through a few words. Explaining who he was to the security and apologising, you drag a mildly annoyed Eunwoo to his car, snatching the keys from his pocket. You lock the car then lead him down the street, ignoring his protests of "Why are we leaving my car?" And "It'll get stolen! Them what will I do?"

Eventually, Eunwoo fell into silence, still trailing you. If you couldn't hear his footsteps, you'd question if he was still behind you. You navigated the streets expertly, barely flinching at the shadowy alleyways you passed. Eunwoo, however, being the easily scared man he is, felt nervous and did his best to see down each as he passed them.

Trotting up to walk beside you, his arm wrapped around yours, seeking comfort. You allowed him to do so, barely reacting.

It was going well until a group you passed made a comment about the both of you and set him off once more, the level of alcohol in his body fuelling his anger. He spun, dropping your arm sharply and halting.

'Oi, idiot.' He called. 'Yeah. I'm talking to you. Want to say that again?'

His eyes were fiery, daring his opposer to repeat their words.

They simply glanced over their shoulder at him, scoffing softly. 'You're clinging to them.' They gestured to you briefly. 'What are they going to do? Seduce an attacker?' 

You held Eunwoo's arm tightly, trying to break his spell. Alas, the man pulled away, following the people. Before he could approach, you jumped in front of him, glaring. 'Do. Not. Do. That.' You snapped, standing stubbornly in his path and placing your hands on your hips. One staring contest later, Eunwoo drops his aggressive behaviour and turns, hanging his head and leading the way to your place. 

You checked him over once the door was locked. Taking a seat on the couch and ignoring him, you turned the tv on. 'I'm sorry.' Eunwoo attempted to catch your attention. 

'Y/N, I'm really, really sorry, I behaved wrongly and I shouldn't have.' Came his second attempt moments later. You simply shifted on the cushion beneath you, tuning his words out. 

It had been about an hour and a half when Eunwoo had had enough of you ignoring him. Switching the tv off, he turned to face you, staring holes into the side of your face. 'Y/N.' You exhaled, leaning back into the couch. 'What?' You mumbled, still refusing to turn your head toward him in the slightest. 

'I said I was sorry almost two hours ago, and you've not said anything.' 

'Should I care? Every time we go out, it's the same thing. You get uncharacteristically...angry...and it's getting old.' 

A sigh answered you. He ruffled his hair on a soft, barely audible groan. 'I love you, okay?' 

You chuckled, shaking your head. 'Stop it.' You turned to look at him, the irritation at his actions rising up. 'You're being stupid.'

Seeing his chance - a chance - he moved closer, meeting your gaze. 'If that's what being in love with you makes me, then so be it.' You could feel your breath hitch; the irritation melt away,meltspite only appearing only moments before. With a nod, you lean toward him slowly. You saw Eunwoo prepare for a potential kiss and smiled, snatching the tv remote and sitting back again, pretending to still be annoyed. He whined and leaned in, creating his chin on your shoulder and looking up at you like a sad puppy dog. You continued watching the tv with a small smirk on your lips. 'So be it.' You reiterated softly.

JinJin || Jinwoo

The movie wasn't boring per se, it was just slow and Jinwoo wasn't feeling it. He hoped, however, that his disinterest wasn't obvious; you had been waiting to watch it for a few weeks now and he didn't want to sour the mood. His gaze would be on the screen but his attention would be elsewhere in a poor attempt to seem present and invested in the plot, throwing in an occasional nod or gasp here and there for effect. His timing wasn't great but it somehow worked all the same. 

Perhaps because you were focused on the film, you hadn't noticed him gradually zone out so when your ice-cold hand slipped under his shirt, his resulting jolt startled you both. With how long it took you to squirm under the blanket that was draped over his lap, you thought he'd have noticed you long before you had moved on to infiltrating his hoodie. His eyes were almost as wide as the perfect 'o' his lips formed as he stared down at you, shocked and now wide alert.

You laughed it off with a quick apology, muttering about being cold before focusing on the movie once more. You curled against his side and rested your head on his shoulder; you looked content. Jinwoo didn't want to disturb you but he also didn't want to risk you getting cold again so he'd give you both the hoodie and the blanket. Once you both settled back down onto the couch and he felt just how cold the room was without the additional layers, he'd be the one cuddling you.

"I could just about fall asleep in your arms, baby."

It had been a week since the heater went out and it would be another week before the repairman could fix it. You couldn't fathom why the wait was so long no matter which company you called but the weather had been rather tame as of late so you didn't mind. The nights hadn't been too cold. They were bearable. Perhaps even enjoyable.

All that changed, however, when a cold front hit the city. Even when the sun shone bright at its peak, the air was unforgiving. Falling asleep that night felt about as comfortable as sleeping in a cooler. You hadn't thought it could get colder than that until the next morning brought even lower temperatures. Daybreak offered no reprieve. Without any heat source to mitigate the chill that had lingered around the house all day, nightfall only brought lower temperatures and the threat of both frozen pipes and extremities. 

Even armed with a mountain of blankets, you couldn't shake off the cold. Staying in one spot in order to marinate in your body heat seemed like a good idea until your joints creaked and ached. Moving would warm you up just a tad but then you'd have to face the freezing sheets again. When you tried to find a spot that was somehow warmer than your current one, you only found misery. Any spot left unoccupied for too long was consumed by chill. Every time you moved to a new position, your feet just about froze. 

Your tossing and turning woke Myungjun, who in turn was quick to complain about the frost that he was sure would coat his face by dawn. With a roll of the eyes, you were about to remind him that he wasn't the only one suffering when you turned over and felt it; an abundance of warmth radiating off your boyfriend. Like a cat drawn to a patch of sunlight, you gravitated toward the source. The closer you inched toward him, the closer he inched toward you. When your fingers met and entwined with his, the chill that had burrowed deep into your bones was chased away. Without hesitation, he pulled you against his chest. Where his hands rested against your back, heat pooled and rolled outward in waves. His lips brushed against your ear as he snuggled close to you. 

"You know, the fastest way to warm up is skin to skin contact."

Eunwoo || Dongmin

Whether it was pride or enthusiasm, you were withholding the fact that you were indeed freezing from your boyfriend in favour of enjoying your date night to the fullest. He had suggested bringing something warmer but you were still in denial of the season change. It was too early for the weather to be this cold. The sweater you donned should have been enough in your book but now that you were out in an open field surrounded by nothing but clear skies and barren trees, you realised that a cumbersome jacket wouldn't have been half bad.

The stars shone and dazzled above you. It had been so long since you'd seen them this clearly. The city had so much to offer, with many beautiful sights that were limited to the urban experience, but there was something serene about a night sky void of human interference. This far from civilisation you only have the moon to illuminate your world.

Dongmin watched you from the corner of his eye. He was concerned. It was colder than usual but you still hadn't asked to leave. When he suggested packing up a bit early, you told him you wanted to stay longer. Date nights weren't as frequent as either of you would like, not with how busy you both were with your careers. He understood why you didn't want to go home yet and he couldn't say he didn't feel the same way, he just didn't want you to jeopardise your health for it, either.

When you flung forward into a sitting position and tugged on his shirt sleeve, pointing at a shooting star as it danced across a sky millions of miles away, he took the opportunity to wrap one of the blankets around you. It had been the one you were laying on. Turning back to him with a small protest on your lips, he silenced you with a soft smile and open arms. 

"It's too cold without you here beside me."

Moonbin || Bin

Whenever he danced, you were mesmerized. There was a certain grace and precision he executed when he moved, one that entranced you. His skill was unparalleled. He was the definition of dedication as he gave his all to the routine regardless of the declining temperatures. If a single move was shy of perfect, he'd restart. If a single prop missed the mark or the effects weren't exact, he'd restart.

Moonbin had requested that you come watch his performance as they filmed it. He insisted that it would be more powerful to watch in person. While he wasn't wrong, you didn't realise the number of takes and effort filming a short dance required. The rooftop they chose to film on was beautiful with its extravagant garden and cityscape view but the occasional car honk or overhead plane forced a restart of the whole performance. It had to be done all in one take and that seemed near impossible. 

Frustrations were running high when he was twenty seconds from completion and one of the portable lights broke. A cacophony of apologies and orders grated against the grinding chorus of metal against metal as repairs began. Crew members scrambled to find some way to look busy for fear of the director's wrath. The producer decided to have a chat with Bin, stopping him en route to you. You chuckled at his attempts to both seem interested and to end the interaction. Once he freed himself from the conversation, he was by your side. 

The temperature was steadily falling and you hadn't brought a big enough jacket to combat it. Your boyfriend, however, had. He was talking about the shoot when you made your move. Leaning over to grab it from the seat beside him and nodding along to his story, you struggled to get a proper grip on the slick material. You had been listening to his story so when he came to an abrupt stop, you looked up. He wasn't impressed. Before you had time to think, he lifted you from your chair and onto his lap. His arms encaged you tight against his chest. 

"If you wanted to cuddle, you should've just said something."

Rocky || Minhyuk

Snow drifted down from the dark skies. It floated on the wind, spiralling and swaying before falling out of sight. A moderate layer had collected on the balcony railing. The railing didn't block your view and acted as a slight wind breaker, something you were quite grateful for on nights like these. Lights twinkled in the distance as the city's nightlife bustled regardless of the poor weather conditions. 

While the original plan had been to catch a movie at the local theatre, both you and Minhyuk decided against it. The storm rolled in without warning and had been close to a blizzard at its prime. It had since died down but the hour was much too late for an adventure out on the town. Not that it was necessary - you had been looking forward to spending quality time with your boyfriend and that's exactly what you'd done.

Over the course of the storm, the conversation had devolved into comfortable silence. Sitting on a loveseat swing that had rocked on its own accord with the high winds, you rested your head against Minhyuk's shoulder as you both gazed out upon the city. On occasion you caught him staring at your lips with an odd expression but when you brought it up, he'd just smile, plant a kiss on your lips, and pull you closer. After a few repetitions of this, you began to look to him when you felt cold and, without fail, his chaste kisses and soft fingertips would warm you. 

"Whenever you're cold, I'll keep you warm."

Sanha || Sanha

There were many smiling faces in your direct view. Couples and families alike were enjoying the winter season and the perks it brought: ice and a lot of it. One of the largest lakes in the region had fallen victim to the deep freeze and had been declared safe enough to skate on. As one might expect, people had flocked to it. The desire to be outside with your loved ones in the dead of winter just so you could glide across frozen water was infectious and evidently Sanha wasn't immune to it. 

You couldn't deny that the first hour had been magical. Metal skates sliced through the ice and it became fine dust, sparkling as it hung suspended in the air for what felt like an eternity. Everyone's joy was contagious. It was a winter wonderland. There wasn't a frown to be had…

Until you kept bumping into people. Or rather people kept bumping into you. It wasn't your intention to be a sour sport. You could handle a few nudges here or there but even you had a limit. After the third bump that resulted in your (hard) collision with the very wet and very cold ice, your mood had been dampened beyond repair. 

What most definitely didn't help was Sanha's persistent teasing. Joking came first, helping you came second. Even when you both toppled down, he'd still be laughing. He wasn't going to let his night be ruined over some accidents and so you tried to follow his lead. He did have a point - the only person capable of affecting your state of mind was yourself and you shouldn't let anyone steal the night's magic from you. 

Your new and improved mindset didn't last long. Your clothes were drenched. Your face was red. Your knees were sore. You were freezing and every time you tried to use Sanha for warmth, he blocked your attempt. Claiming he didn't want his own clothes to get wet from transference, he'd skate just out of reach. He even refused to lend you his gloves. It wasn't until you told him you were leaving and you attempted to storm off the ice that he'd cuddle you. 

"What am I, your personal space heater? I'm kidding! You know I can't resist teasing you."

He isn't way too possessive either.

He knows that his members respect him and his relationship, even when they tease him.

If someone were to flirt with you in public, he'd obviously not be happy.

But he has decent composure though.

He wouldn't react right away, though.

He'd watch, listen and observe first, trying to figure out the best way to deal with the situation or even if you'll react on your own.

If the person was flirting with you, he wouldn't hesitate to confront them.

He'd take your hand gently in his and smile politely--politely, not nicely--at the other person.

He'd talk very confidently and politely.

"Hi, I'm their boyfriend. If you would please stop flirting with them, that would be great."

He'd give you a look, telling you that he wants to go somewhere else.

Give him kisses and snuggles, especially in front of the other person.

That'll make him happy.

Han Jeonghoon (J-Kid)

Jeonghan doesn't get too jealous too easily, but he's very clear when he is jealous.

He isn't straightforward, but he's pretty obvious. 

When one of his members gets close to you or does anything he doesn't like, he'll reach over to you and take your hand or pull you to him.

When in public and someone else hits on you or checks you out, he doesn't react right away.

He might watch for a second, seeing how the situation plays out.

If things start going in a direction he really doesn't like, he'll step in.

Jeonghan is a bit passive aggressive when it comes to his jealousy.

He'd grab your hand and try to dag your attention elsewhere.

"Excuse me," he'd say to the person, before taking you somewhere and showing you something more interesting.

He wouldn't want to talk about it for the rest of the day.

If you'd try to bring it up again, he'd wave the issue off.

"Let's forget about that, Y/N. It doesn't matter."

Secretly, he wants a lot of affection and care afterward.

Yang Hyuk (Gun)

Hyuk gets jealous pretty easily.

When it comes to his members, he gets kind of jealous if it's one of his more flirty members who's cozying up to you.

Thankfully, his members know he doesn't like it when they get cozy together.

Because of that, they mostly won't do anything that might make him uncomfortable.

They care for their maknae.

Now, if you and him were at the store and some stranger were to even look at you wrong, he'd be so upset.

You'd definitely be able to tell by the look in his eyes.

If the person were to flirt with you, he'd be so upset and frustrated.

He'd take your hand and put himself between you and the other person.

He'd try to appear calm and composed, while also intimidating. 

But you could see his fist, clenched and shaking in frustration.

He'd probably be holding your hand the entire time, squeezing tightly.

He'd also definitely need a lot of reassurance like hugs and snuggles afterward.

A ⇴ AFFECTION

Jinwoo is always protective of you more than anything else, it doesn’t matter how uncomfortable he has to be, if he needs to have his arms around you, or your bump, to keep you safe then he’ll do it without a second thought.

B ⇴ BUMP

Being so protective, Jinwoo is always aware of your surroundings too and so tries his best to create a comfortable environment for you to be in. He’s constantly moving things out of the way or guiding you around a better route to stop you from bumping into something or having to more uncomfortably to get around something.

C ⇴ CRAVINGS

He makes sure that whenever you’re craving, he listens to exactly what you want so that he can perfect your request. Even if you ask for him to pick up a specific menu from across the city, Jinwoo is always happy to do it, the only priority for him is making sure that you’re well looked after and filled up too.

D ⇴ DUE DATE

Your due date is something that the two of you try to ignore for most of the time so that you don’t have to stress yourselves about it. Jinwoo doesn’t worry too much about your due date as he knows that there is no guarantee that your due date will be the date when your baby arrived, instead he just wants you to take care of yourself and trust that when your baby is ready to arrive, they will, due date or not.

E ⇴ EMOTIONS

Jinwoo is incredibly emotional about your pregnancy, he can’t quite believe how lucky he is to be starting a family with you. You are his top priority, he’s always caring and looking after you, especially as the weeks pass and your bump grows bigger. Every day he makes sure to remind himself how lucky he is and also make sure that you always know just how much he appreciates you too.

F ⇴ FAMILY

Being the grandma of the group, it felt just like a matter of time for all of the boys that the two of you would be the first ones to settle down and welcome the first baby into the group. Everyone in your families also knew just how close and settled the two of you were and so they weren’t surprised either at all when the two of you came home to them all one day and told them that you were expecting a baby.

G ⇴ GENDER

Jinwoo loved to read old wife’s tales and see what different clues and habits suggested about what the gender of your baby would be. Neither of you wanted to find out the gender of your baby until they arrived, fascinated in the constant debate of whether it would be a boy or a girl from all of the clues that you read about.

H ⇴ HEARTBEAT

Even though you were used to seeing Jinwoo cry from time to time, you never expected that hearing the beat of your baby’s heart would be one of those occasions when Jinwoo started to tear up. He didn’t even realise he was doing it either until your hand reached across and wiped the tears out from underneath his eyes.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”

Jinwoo was incredibly romantic when making sure that you knew he loved you, not only by using his words, but he would constantly come home with treats for you too that he knew would make you happy, whilst also spoiling you at home with gifts and surprises all the time that you never expected from him.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

At times Jinwoo was guilty of being a little sensitive as a result of how protective he was. Even if people meant no harm when they were around your bump or enquiring a lot about your pregnancy, Jinwoo couldn’t help but get a little bit jealous about the way that people acted. You could always tell by the look in his eyes that he felt a little pushed aside, reassuring him when you were free that he didn’t need to worry.

K ⇴ KICKS

Every single kick that comes from your baby always made Jinwoo very excited for your baby to arrive. He loved any sign of life from your little one, and nothing made the reality sink in more for him then a strong kick from your baby against the side of his head when he settled his head over the top of your baby bump.

L ⇴ LABOUR

He loved to try and keep you smiling as much as he could whilst you were in labour, doing plenty of cute faces in between contractions that he knew would keep you on his good side. Despite you constantly yelling that labour was his fault, and that you’d never have sex with him again, once you calmed down every single time, you’d go back to smiling at how adorable he was, and how annoyingly well aegyo suited him.

M ⇴ MORNING SICKNESS

It never seemed to bother Jinwoo when you were sick, the only thing he was wary of was taking care of you and making sure that you were coping. Once you were done, he would always have your toothbrush ready to use and tidy up the bathroom for you whilst you focused on cleaning your teeth and composing yourself.

N ⇴ NURSERY

He took complete control when it came to your nursery, making sure that you didn’t do too much. Showing off the builder in him was a particular highlight of Jinwoo’s as he constantly got to admire the smile on your face.

O ⇴ OBSESSION

Jinwoo was obsessed with your bump, he just couldn’t believe what an incredible thing your body was doing in growing a human. It often left him stunned whenever he saw your bump, knowing that it was his child that was inside.

P ⇴ POST BIRTH

He was the perfect gentleman when taking care after you gave birth, nothing was ever too much trouble as far as Jinwoo was concerned when it came down to making sure that your body had the time to heal and relax and that your baby was able to settle comfortably into the world as well with the two of you.

Q ⇴ QUESTIONS

Jinwoo constantly had his phone in his hand, and it was instinct in him most of the time whilst he did to text you too and see how you were. Your phone was always buzzing with texts from Jinwoo, checking in when he had a moment.

R ⇴ RANDOM FACTS

He loved to take photos of you, especially when you weren’t paying attention in candid moments. They were the photos that Jinwoo knew he would treasure in years to come, although even whilst you were pregnant, he always savoured your photos, constantly changing his lock screen on his phone so that he could see you looking back at him, protecting your bump without even knowing you were doing it.

S ⇴ SCANS

With his phone constantly in his hand, it only felt right for Jinwoo to keep your scan photos in the back of his phone so that he was always able to look at them. Whenever he wanted to see your baby, all he had to do was flip his phone around and see it, allowing the smile on his face to grow comfortably once again.

T ⇴ TEST

The positive pregnancy test that greeted you was a surprise to you both on your bathroom floor. You were sure it was just a bug, but Jinwoo wanted to rule pregnancy out, only to end up doing the complete opposite.

U ⇴ ULTRASOUND

He would be well prepared for all of your appointments, getting to the hospital with plenty of time to spare and all of the items that you needed too.

V ⇴ VISITS

Jinwoo wanted to wait to invite any visitors around until he was sure that you and your little one were comfortable enough at home to start having others at home with you too, showering you all with attention and love.

W ⇴ WAITING

He was beyond excited for your baby, Jinwoo was usually patient but there were definitely short bursts of adrenaline that greeted him as well.

X ⇴ XXXX

Each kiss from Jinwoo was always incredibly soft, he treated you as if you were the most fragile thing in the world whilst you were pregnant, affectionately taking care of you with every second that he spent in your company.

Y ⇴ YOU

You were his biggest supporter, and so your pregnancy was Jinwoo’s time to return the favour.

Z ⇴ ZZZ

He loved to try and get you to lay in with him in the mornings so that you could get a little more sleep in you, usually after restless nights, you would happily do so, giving Jinwoo an excuse to lay in for a little longer too.
