Tu Me Manques || KTH

Pairing: Kim Taehyung x f.reader
Genre: Fluff, Boyfriend!Tae, Penpal!Tae
WC: 1.8k
Summary: Inspired by Layover's aesthetic, just Tae being a long distance boyfriend with 90's heartthrob vibes.
A/N- As a Tae bias, Paris screams Tae & the Pop/W/Arena photoshoot deserved a fic! 🌊🌙⭐️
---------------------------------------------
I've never been to France, I've only ever lived in the little seaport of Pohang in Gyeongsang, South Korea. Yet, I'd grown up watching all those movies depicting the beauty of Paris, listening to Lolo Zoui, Carla Bruni, Angèle, Pomme, Louane, Stromae and more. I'd begun to learn French from apps on my tiny phone screen and baked Ratatouille, all in bids to make my Parisian dream come true. But I knew given my financial situation, I'd never be able to make it true. The closest I'd ever come to it was the descriptions sent by my pen pal writing to me from Versailles. When I'd signed up for the pen pal program back in school, I'd never imagined my luck that I'd be patched with someone in my dream country. Kim Taehyung and I had been writing to each other since a decade now, from the early 2000's till now. He was a Korean descent boy who's family had moved to France while he was still a kid. He wanted to stay in touch with his Korean roots and I wanted to vicariously live in France. It worked out just perfectly, especially as we grew up and switched between both languages, our letters getting longer, photos getting added to our notes, hand pressed flowers being sent inside envelopes, souveniers being exchanged across the miles. But nothing prepared us 90's babies for the technological revolution and what that would bring. I wasn't prepared to hear his deep and dusky voice especially in contrast to his boyish charm and soft demeanor on paper. It caught me off guard as did his photo, him sending me a cheeky picture where he's trying to eat a chocolate minitature Eiffel tour. Even though he knows I love chocolate and that was what should've caught my attention, I was far too distracted by him in his leather jacket and jet black tresses.
I told myself it couldn't be true, it just couldn't be possible. I mean we'd never met!! How could I be attracted to someone that I didn't even know irl, who knew what kind of a man he really was? There was only so much letters, photos & calls could reveal. Besides we were continents away with neither planning to cross the sea between us. I just told myself that I was projecting my love for France onto him, it was just me romantizing everything to make it fit like a neatly tied gift. But this want a fairytale, it was reality and Tae and I were simply not happening.
But fate had other plans, I saw all of France through his eyes. Starting with the Palace of Versailles, which was the first place he'd video called me from- he'd made up his mind to travel the country while letting me experience it through his footsteps. He'd keep his camera on, give his commentary and share every moment of his adventures with me. And so one day, when we'd run out of new places to visit, I asked him to take me to a place that reminded him most of me. Something that he thought would resonate with me, somewhere he'd take me first if I was actually able to visit there. And I wasn't ready for what he had in mind. I imagined he'd pick one of the more obvious spots like the Louvre where we'd bonded over Monet's art work all day or the vineyards of Champagne where we'd been on call all through the night. But instead he went to the Place du Trocadéro, as the sun set behind him and the stars sprinkled across the sky. This elevated and open green space nestled behind the Eiffel tower was a less visited but still tourist friendly location. With its dancers and musicians, street food carts and fountains- it's alive and the magic of Paris is visible at its best. "I chose this place because it's so alive, you can feel the excitement and passion in the air. It reminds me of you- with your bubbly energy and buzzing enthusiasm. It's filled with songs by favorite artists, the chocolate crêpes here have your name written all over them and everytime I watch couples on a date here, families taking pictures in the light of the tower, tourists videocalling their loved ones. I just knew, I had to show this place to you, not just on camera but in reality. I promise you, someday I'll find a way to get you here. I've never seen anyone treasure this place the way you do, the locals here think it's a tourist trap and sometimes I do too. But everytime I show you around, the stars in your eyes and the small O's of your mouth remind me of the beauty that surrounds me. You're beautiful... I mean it's beautiful. Isn't it?"
And in that moment as he bit his lip realizing his mistake, that he accidentally called me pretty instead of the scenery. I couldn't help but come to a huge realisation myself. I wasn't looking at the scenery any longer, I was looking at him. Him in his cozy and furry sweater that I wanted to cling onto, him with his shoes half worn knowing that he hated wearing footwear even when he knew he'd be walking all day, him with his large fingers easily gripping the phone even as he was being pushed through the crowd, him with his nervous laughter as his tipsy self slipped secrets he otherwise wouldn't share. What mattered to me wasn't the shine that shone behind him but the sparkle in his eyes. Even though France was and would always be my first love, I had fallen in love once again. And this time, I could tell it was stronger than before because even though I was visiting the most gorgeous place in sight, as he'd rightly described- I was consumed by him. I was in love not with the city of romance but with the man who'd introduced me to it.
"Tu me manques." I told him, knowing that he'd know what I meant. French was known as Aphrodite's chosen language for a reason. It was so much more than just me saying, I miss you like what the words translated to English or Korean meant. It was me telling him that "he was missing from me, that he was a part of my body, something that was integral to my existence, like the only way I'd be whole was if he was here next to me." And that's why this one phrase was more powerful than any amount of I love yous said in any other tongue and I knew he understood that. Because in that moment, I could see his eyes tear up as his boxy smile graced his face and he leaned forward to press his lips against the phone screen. Sending me a kiss, across the world as the winds in the sky and the glowing moon above us, passed on his love to me.
THE END. 🌊🌙⭐️

December 11
pairing: Jack Daniels x reader
warnings: fluff, references to smut
words: 655
a/n: yay Paris exploring with Jack
Last, Full List, Next, More Jack
Tumblr media
🏔🏔🏔
In the past, you and Jack spent the holidays away traveling. But this time, you were going to be visiting your family, so you set aside any desire to travel until the new year. But then one day in late November, Jack surprised you with tickets to Paris in early December, telling you that Statesman was willing to give you both the whole month off, if you delivered a sensitive document to the American embassy in France. It seemed easy enough, so you agreed enthusiastically, and after a bit of preparation and packing, you were off.
The assignment was more exciting than expected and involved a fistfight that left you with a bruised hand and Jack with a nasty shiner, but you still had a week in Paris all to yourselves. Jack normally brought a lot of attention to himself in European cities with his cowboy getup, so you hoped that would distract people from noticing his black eye. And of course, he was happy to do anything for you that was making your hand hurt. This tended to lead to distraction when it was something like putting your bra on.
Since you had never been in Paris aside from layovers or trips directly to the embassy and back, you and Jack decided to do all the touristy things in the mornings and all the local things at night. Through the Statesman, you had plenty of research on the city, and could find the parts of the city not geared towards tourists, which tended to be slower and less crowded.
And all of the restaurants in those parts had fantastic food and you got pretty good service considering you were Americans because both you and Jack were fluent in French.
On the second full day you went to the Eiffel Tower, having spent the first along the Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame. It felt so romantic, Paris in wintertime, when it was cold out and a little foggy. And specifically the Eiffel Tower surrounded by snow was such an iconic romantic image that you got feeling very… amorous.
More than once, Jack leaned in for a small kiss and you ended up trying to turn it into a full makeout session, right there in public. Jack would pull away with a little laugh and remind you, “We’re not supposed to draw undue attention to ourselves, remember, sugar?”
“Says the cowboy in Paris,” you told him petulantly. Then you pouted and looked down, “I just wanted to kiss you because I love you so much.”
Jack put a finger to your chin to guide your gaze back to his, “Well darlin’, we can do a whole lot more than kiss if we get on back to our hotel.”
“But what about the Eiffel Tower?” you asked, unsure.
“What about it? Worried it’s feelings will get hurt, sweet girl?” Jack smiled and brushed his fingers over your cheek.
You laughed and shook your head, then wished he would touch you more, and stupidly kept protesting, “No, I just wanted to make sure we did everything that we should do, you know.”
Jack’s smile was adoring in the way that you were being ridiculous and he thought it was adorable, “Well, we saw it, check. And we took a picture of it, check. And we took a picture in front of it, check. Seems to me we’ve done everything there is to do, sugar.”
It was your turn to laugh and you told him, “Well, you can actually go up, Jack.”
“Who wants to do that in this cold weather?” he waved his hand dismissively. And then his voice got more serious and he took a step closer to you, “Do you? Or do you wanna go back to the hotel and warm up?”
You swallowed and looked up at him, suddenly feeling very warm. But even still, you told him, “Hotel and warm up, please.”

First of all - I am so sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this ask 😭
Second - this list is in no way complete. I could probably double it if I gave it some more time (and maybe I’ll edit this post and add some later) but I wanted to answer this ask.
Third - some things listed are cities, some are attractions, some are landmarks or monuments…it’s really a mix of everything. And some major landmarks that cover more than one country are only listed once.

Adventuring in Paris
This past may I had the amazing opportunity to travel across Paris, France with my best friend. We went inside of the Eiffel Tower, went on a tour of the Louvre, went to the Palace of Versailles, and more. I had the best experience and am dying to go back. As we spent majority of our trip in London (which I will talk about next week), we only spent about three full days in Paris. I would love to go back and spend even more time in France. From teaching myself French, to trying snails for the first time, and taking a boat along the river, it was definitely a trip to remember. Yes, I challenged myself to order at restaurants in French. I mean, I had to google translate the menu anyway! I truthfully think I could spend months in Paris and still not be ready to leave. Luckily, I was able to avoid the crowds traveling there for the Olympics, so I'm glad my trip was planned for May. Please enjoy some photos from my trip and let me know if you would like to see more travel content!

7 places in Paris you should visit for a historical tour
Paris is a city full of history and beauty. When you visit Paris, you can see many famous places that tell the story of its past. A historical tour of Paris takes you to iconic landmarks and beautiful buildings, each with its own unique story. One of the most famous places in Paris is the Eiffel Tower. This iron tower was built in 1889 and is a symbol of the city. Another important site is Notre-Dame Cathedral, a stunning example of Gothic architecture from the 12th century. The Louvre Museum, which used to be a royal palace, is now the world’s largest art museum and home to thousands of artworks. The Palace of Versailles, just outside of Paris, shows the grandeur of the French monarchy with its luxurious rooms and gardens. The Arc de Triomphe provides a magnificent view of the city and pays tribute to those who fought for France. Sainte-Chapelle is known for its beautiful stained-glass windows, and the Panthéon is where many famous French people are buried. Visiting these historical places in Paris gives you a glimpse into the city’s rich heritage. Each site tells a part of the story of Paris, making your trip both educational and unforgettable.
Tumblr media
Here are some places in Paris you should visit for a historical tour.
1. The Tower of Eiffel:
Tumblr media
One of the most well-known sights on the entire globe is the Eiffel Tower. It is 324 meters tall and was constructed in 1889 for the World's Fair. Travelers can go via the elevator to the summit for an amazing perspective of Paris. Gustave Eiffel created the iron structure of the tower. It's a beautiful sight at night when it lights up. A must-see for tourists to Paris, the Eiffel Tower are a representation of the city.
2. The Cathedral of Notre Dame:
Tumblr media
The Notre-Dame Cathedral is a magnificent example of Gothic design. This 12th-century cathedral is situated on the Île de la Cité. Large rose windows, flying buttresses, and gargoyles are among its most well-known features. To get a glimpse of the city and to see the renowned bell towers, visitors can ascend to the summit. The cathedral's interior features a sizable organ and exquisite stained-glass windows. Notre-Dame is still a significant historical landmark in Paris after the fire in 2019.
3. The Louvre Museum:
Tumblr media
Located in Paris, the Louvre Museum is the biggest art museum globally and a recognized historical site. In 1793, it was converted from a royal palace to a public museum. Thousands of pieces of art, such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, can be found at the Louvre. The glass pyramid entrance of the museum creates a striking contrast with the old structure. The vast collections, which include artwork from ancient civilizations through the 19th century, captivate visitors for hours on end.
4. Palace of Versailles:
Situated not far from Paris is the magnificent royal house known as the Palace of Versailles. It was constructed by King Louis XIV and is renowned for the Hall of Mirrors, magnificent gardens, and lavish chambers. The French monarchy's absolute power before the Revolution is reflected throughout the palace. The state apartments, the king and queen's private rooms, and the lovely grounds are open for tours. The opulent lifestyle of the French kings and queens is glimpsed at the Palace of Versailles.
5. Arc de Triomphe:
A colossal arch known as the Arc de Triomphe stands in memory of those who defended France throughout the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Built in 1806, it was ordered by Napoleon and is located atop the Champs-Élysées. Climbers can reach the summit for a bird's-eye perspective of Paris. The names of generals and victories are inscribed on the arch and embellished with sculptures. In addition, it has the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where a perpetual light burns in remembrance of those who lost their lives in World War I.
6. Sainte-Chapelle:
Within the medieval Palais de la Cité sits the Gothic chapel known as Sainte-Chapelle. King Louis IX had it constructed in the thirteenth century to hold his collection of artifacts, which included the Crown of Thorns. The chapel is well known for its exquisite stained-glass windows, which brighten the interior with vibrant images of biblical scenes. A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, Sainte-Chapelle bears witness to the religious fervour of medieval France.
7. The Pantheon:
Situated in Paris's Latin Quarter, the Panthéon is a stately tomb. Originally constructed as a church honoring St. Genevieve, it currently houses notable French citizens' graves. The building's striking dome and Corinthian columns make it a remarkable example of neoclassical architecture. Among the notable people interred are Marie Curie, Voltaire, Rousseau, and Victor Hugo. The rich intellectual and cultural legacy of France is reflected in the Panthéon.
Conclusion:
Exploring the historical sites of Paris is an unforgettable experience. Each landmark, from the majestic Eiffel Tower to the serene Sainte-Chapelle, offers a unique glimpse into the city’s rich past. A visit to Notre-Dame Cathedral reveals the grandeur of Gothic architecture, while the Louvre Museum allows you to see some of the world’s greatest art treasures. The opulence of the Palace of Versailles showcases the lavish lifestyle of the French monarchy, and the Arc de Triomphe stands as a proud monument to France's history. For those planning their trip, a Paris tour package can make it easier to visit all these incredible sites. A tour package often includes guided visits, transportation, and sometimes even special access to attractions. This can help you make the most of your time in the city and ensure you don’t miss any key historical locations. Whether you are marveling at the stained-glass windows of Sainte-Chapelle or paying respects at the Panthéon, a historical tour of Paris is both enlightening and inspiring. By choosing a Paris tour package, you can experience the best of the city’s history with ease and convenience. This journey through time will leave you with lasting memories of Paris’s fascinating heritage.

Paris, "The City of Love"
Paris, France
Tumblr media
Paris is the capital of France, the largest country of Europe with 550 000 km2. Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. From the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre Museum, the city is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in the world. It is a modern and vibrant city with significant commercial, cultural, academic, scientific, administrative, business activity. The French tradition of good food still prevails in many restaurants, including gastronomic restaurants and excellent family style places. All of this turns Paris into a unique tourist city.Paris has been one of the world's major centres of finance, diplomacy, commerce, culture, fashion, gastronomy and many areas. For its leading role in the arts and sciences, as well as its early and extensive system of street lighting, in the 19th century, it became known as the City of Light.
During my visit in Paris, I spend $70-150 per day including accommodation, food , transportation, and activities. But based on my estimates, the total cost of a 7-day trip to Paris could range from $1,233 to $2,880, excluding any additional expenses such as travel insurance or souvenirs. Exploring the Magnificence of Eiffel Tower
Eiffel tower is located Champ de Mars, 5 Av. Anatole France, 75007 Paris, France
Tumblr media
Dream Destination: Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower, or La Tour Eiffel as the French call it, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. Located in Paris, France, this architectural marvel is a symbol of love, romance, and a testament to human craftsmanship. As an avid traveler, I have always dreamt of visiting the Eiffel Tower, and the time has finally come to turn this dream into a reality. In this lakbay sanaysay, I will take you on a virtual journey to explore the history, expenses, route, rules and regulations, culture, tradition, pagdiriwang (celebration), and climate surrounding the Eiffel Tower.
History:
The Eiffel Tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel and was completed in 1889. Initially, it was constructed as the entrance arch for the Exposition Universelle, a world fair held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. The tower stands at a staggering height of 324 meters, making it the tallest man-made structure at the time of its completion. Originally intended to be a temporary structure, the Eiffel Tower has now become an irreplaceable part of the Parisian skyline and a symbol of French ingenuity.
Who Designed the Eiffel Tower?
Who designed the Eiffel Tower and how did it get its name? The tower was designed by two engineers named Emile Nouguier and Maurice Koechlin, who worked for an entrepreneur named Gustave Eiffel. Eiffel did not design the tower, but his name was still attached to it. Nouguier and Koechlin's design was very innovative for the time because no similar tower had ever been built. There were significant doubts as to whether the design would actually hold up, but the construction ended up being a success. The men who built the Eiffel Tower had a perilous job working on tiny platforms very high in the air. Workers went on strike during construction to request better pay, shorter work hours, and hazard pay.

Vive La France The streets of Paris always set the perfect scene, but at this moment the best place to be in this amazing city is next to my window. I'm sitting in a cozy French apartment, overlooking the Parisian rooftops and the iconic Eiffel Tower in the distance. The sun is setting, casting a warm glow over the city. I'm enjoying a lovely cheese board, complete with a selection of tangy bries, nutty comtés, and pungent roquefort. Each cheese is perfectly paired with a glass of champagne, the bubbles dancing on my tongue as I take in the view. As I savor each bite and sip, I can't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over me. This is the epitome of la vie en rose, the good life in the City of Lights. The cheese is rich and creamy, the champagne crisp and refreshing. And the view? Well, it's simply breathtaking. I can hear the hustle and bustle of the streets below, the chatter of people enjoying their own evenings. But up here, in this apartment, it's peaceful and serene. The only sounds are the clinking of glasses and the occasional creak of the old wooden floorboards. As I finish off the last of my champagne, I can't help but think about how lucky I am to be experiencing this moment. To be sitting in a French apartment, enjoying a delicious cheese board and champagne with a view of the Eiffel Tower. It's moments like these that make life worth living. #Wine #Champagne #Cheese #CheeseBoard #Paris #France #EiffelTower #Traveler #Writer #WordIllustrator #Travelogue #Travelogues (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn_i3QbuyV3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Mon Amour || Timothée Chalamet

a/n: i adore this request, u are creative as fuck and allowed in my inbox at anytime lovely :) psa, not my art! those two pics just sort of fit the vibe and the sketch is a reference, i switched up the request just a bit <3 also i listened to la vie en rose by edith piaf while writing, so i feel like it sort of fits the vibe :))
cw: nudity, language, suggestiveness
The white casement windows were slightly ajar, only a few inches above the floor with a bit of space before hitting the ceiling at the top. Through the space you could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance, a light breeze filtering through the small Parisian apartment.
Timothée had purchased it before you’d began dating, but it soon became a home away from home. Between traveling so much and several much needed breaks, you’d both spent a lot of time within the tiny space. It was like a step away from the outside, decorated in a way that could have been easily mistaken for a 90s interior.
Paintings were strung up on the wall, a white blanket skewed over the back of the sage green couch at the forefront of the room. There was no television, only a radio on the windowsill beside the balcony. It was old, lulling the tune to a French theme. The hardwood floor was always like ice in the mornings, clothes thrown all over the ground from the night before.
“Mon doux, mon tendre, mon merveilleux amour—bonjour.”
What a way to wake up, you thought.
Timothée’s voice rasped into your hair, his French accent thick when he fell into it carelessly. It was a good morning you’d never grow tired of, his curls tickling the apples of your cheeks as he leaned into you from his side of the bed. His arm was wrapped around your waist, tightening as you shifted to look at him.
Fortunately, you’d picked up on a bit of the language while staying in France so frequently. Timmy had helped tremendously, teaching you the basics and continuing to show you everyday. You listened to several podcasts in French now, retaining the intricacy of the dialect and articulation.
“Good morning,” you smiled at him.
The white duvet was nearly hanging off the bed, legs intertwined within the milky sheets. You were topless, all but a pair of light pink cotton underwear remaining on your person. He wore a simple pair of grey boxers, hanging low on his hips.
His head was laid on the pillow beside yours, hair spilled across the silk in a mess of dark brown curls. You took a handful of his hair in your hand gently, pushing it out of his face and leaning in to press a chaste kiss to his lips. It was a look you’d never get tired of, his pink cheeks and cluster of small constellations peppering his nose.
The air smelled of sex and vanilla, the hum of music only adding to the ambience. Leaning over to the side table, you planned to pick up your cellphone and snap a quick picture of Timothée. You caught a glimpse of your open sketchbook, though. The tan sheets of paper were littered in drawings, some truly very good.
“Can I draw you?” You asked him, grinning incessantly as he yawned and nodded.
“Draw me like one of your French girls, Jack,” he murmured, referencing the Titanic humorously.
Giggling terribly, you picked up the book and flipped to a clean space. He sat up, leaning back against the headboard and reaching to his own side table. He plucked a cigarette up and stuck it between his lips, lighting the end and inhaling dazedly as you sat up in bed as well.
Going to pluck his white button down off the floor, planning to cover your bare chest, he pulled you back up to him with a shake of the head. You rolled your eyes, leaving your breasts uncovered and maneuvering yourself to straddle his waist.
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were trying to seduce me,” you smirked, beginning to sketch out the curve of his jaw.
“You’re sitting on top of me naked, of course I’m trying to fucking seduce you,” he chuckled, taking another drag of the cigarette.
A rush of cold air left a shiver down your spine, his hands rubbing up and down your unclothed torso. You shaded around his nose with a charcoal pencil, it was hard to capture just the right angle of his fluttering eyelashes. In the sketch, his eyes were shut and a look of euphoria was dawning on his features.
He cupped your breasts, running the tip of his index finger along the perky bud of your nipple. This earned a slap in the arm from you, shaping his eyebrows and beginning that mess of wild curls. The song had changed, the buzz of another French melody filling the small space.
You leaned forward, letting him stick the cigarette between your lips and taking in a deep breath. With your non-dominant hand, you pulled it from your lips and flicked the ashes into the tray Timothée held out to you. Handing back the remainder of the stick, you finished shading his Adam’s apple and couldn’t help sitting forward a bit.
Bringing your lips to his bobbing throat, you kissed up his jaw and landed on his lips gently. Sitting up, you finished the last of the sketch and initialed the bottom corner to claim the piece of art. Spinning the pad of paper, you put it on display for his to see.
“I love it, mon amour,” he flushed. “But I can guarantee that my view is a lot better. Can I draw you this time?”
“I can think of at least ten other things we could do,” you whispered, setting the sketchbook back down onto the side table.
