Horror Paper Models
Doing horror paper models has become a HUGE hobby of mine. Im constantly googling different templates for different characters to do. Ill turn on a good horror movie and work on paper models for a couple hours. Its so fun. So what ive done for you today is, tried to find all the websites for the paper models ive already done, and im going to give you a few tips. 1. Print the template out onto card stock. Regular printer paper is not sturdy enough for these projects. Card stock is thicker, and once your model is put together, it will stand up very easily. 2. Make sure you have plenty of colored ink cartridges. These models can take up A LOT of ink. [especially the houses.] To do all the models pictured below, it took 2 colored, and 1 black ink cartridges. Just pay attention to how much ink you have left, so you dont end up with faded pages, and then you wont have to reprint them.   3. White Elmers craft glue works just fine. But you could also use glue sticks or double sided tape. Just remember when using the bottled Elmers glue, a little goes a long way. You dont want to get the paper too wet from the glue, otherwise itll rip or the ink will bleed. 4. Speaking of bleeding ink, since these models take up SO much ink, i do notice there is a lot of excess ink on the paper. What i did personally, was let them sit for an hour after printing, and then took DRY paper towels, and dabbed them. But everyones printer is different, so it may not happen to yours. 5. You will need very sharp scissors and different sized xacto knives. You want your lines to be crisp and straight. And theres a lot of small details on some models, that only an xacto knife can get to. And you can have to cut slits, which is also something only an xacto knife can do. I started doing my paper model with just regular scissors, but quickly realized i needed good scissors, so i went and bought fabric scissors. Which are very sharp, because they obviously need to cut through fabric. I think thats all the tips i have for you. Its honestly very easy, and i dont want to make it seem like it isnt. I was very discouraged with the first paper model house i did, i was afraid i wasnt going to cut the pieces nicely or i wouldnt be able to figure out how to put it all together. But i did, and now im addicted. Down below there will be pictures of the paper models i have put together, and links for each artist/company that i got them from. [I should also mention, all of these downloads are FREE. But, some of the companies accept donations, so just keep that in mind.]
