From the perspective of someone who knows basically nothing about found families (me)- PIE and the Acachallas are kinda like found families, which may be why they got so popular, but the main differences in their popularity (why people prefer PIE to the Acachallas) would have to be the fatherly figures, Papa vs Ghost. Papa makes people uncomfortable, he’s kinda the most disliked VT ‘protagonist’ on tumblr because he reminds people of other people who were NOT good people. To make the Acachalla family a comfortable found family, Acachallas character has to be resorted. However, with Johnny Ghost... yes, he can be a LOT of a jerk sometimes, even to costumers, but we can see he does care about people. He’s actively worked to other’s lives better and we can believe it when he feels proud of his team. Unlike papa, who needs a personality change for people to even feel comfortable around, Ghost just needs to learn to allow people to be dependent of him and vice versa. Other than Toast of course.

(Also the PIE team has Casket and I mean Jose Jose Jose Jose is no match for this funky stab boi. Papa kinda has his own Casket in the form of Jose, but several things spoil it

He’s less of a mystery, we know most his backstory, and there’s not much

It’s freaking PAPA

We’ve never seen him serious or him personally, no one takes him seriously. In or out of canon.

We’ve never seen him interact or speak of other villains he’s supposed to be connected to.

Jimmys a shocker because we’be seen him go head to head with the HOUSEKEEPER who apparently CREATED HIM, (jimmy just likes to fight everyone I guess XP) but Jose... I’m not sure if he’s even mentioned Maxwell? Even though the two might’ve been close at a time, seeing as they were alive and near papa at the same time before their death. Except Jose is actually a vengeful spirit and Maxwell came back through a sacrifice and summoning.)
