321 story time go!!! The steel pan, or steel drum for the uninitiated, is one of the most versatile instruments in creation. It is an integral part of Caribbean culture and one of the sweetest sounding instruments I've ever heard and had the pleasure to play. From 9-12 grade every other day my last class was steel pan. We played almost every song in every genre imaginable. My father and his friends had a steel pan band and they would entertain people every Sunday at hotel on the cay (pronounced key). The reach of this instrument that was invented in Trinidad and Tobago is world wide and the only limit it has, is the limit of the music arrangers imagination. I submit to you the following.
