Phil slowly wakes to a peculiar smell. He can’t quite place it— it’s somewhat familiar, but something about it is off somehow. He stretches and notices Dan isn’t in bed, which really isn’t all that shocking.

Looking over at his phone, Phil realizes that it’s actually fairly early still. He glances around in his barely awakened haze and wonders what Dan is up to and if he’s connected to the strange smell.

He’s headed up the stairs when he hears Dan curse under his breath, and then water splashing in the kitchen sink.

“Dan? Everything alright in there?”

Phil turns into the kitchen to see flour spilled over onto the counter and Dan at the stove cooking....something. At least, Phil thinks he’s cooking.

“I know you haven’t felt well lately so I was wanting to make you some American pancakes from scratch but...they’re harder than I thought they’d be.” Dan turns around, sheepishly, to face Phil. He has a smear of batter on one cheek, and a bit of chocolate right above his lip. “I burnt a bunch, then several fell apart...then burnt a few that ended up somehow gooey at the same time? I have no clue what I’m doing honestly. I just finished a few with chocolate chips that seem promising, though.”

Phil is smiling when he wraps his arms around Dan, squeezing tightly. “Thank you. I don’t care how they turn out, it means a lot that you even attempted...especially after our last failed pancake adventure.”

Dan chuckled. “Don’t remind me! That was totally your fault, and I don’t think our landlord has trusted us ever since.”

“No, probably not.”

Holding up a single chocolate chip pancake, Dan asks, “Wanna try it? It looks the most promising so far! It probably won’t kill you right away.”

“Hmmm...in a minute. You’ve got something on your lip, though, so....”

Phil leans in and kisses Dan gently, wrapping his arms around his shoulders. He whispers another thank you onto Dan’s lips, backs up and just as Dan is about to take a bite...Phil takes the pancake and stuffs the entire thing into his mouth. He saunters away, laughing as much as he can with an overly full mouth.

“PHILLLLLL!!!!”

ok cute dnp moment: in one of the undertale videos phil voices a character like "whats a star?" n then he and dan joke abt it sounding like someone (idk i dont understand their reference) and phil reads the rest of the characters words and just starts giggling at the end and dan says "youve really tickled yourself with that havent u" 10/10 makes me laugh every time

phil thinks hes the funniest person in the world and hes right and dan knows it.

AHHH, Ollie, what the heck that’s so damn wholesome. I didn’t even realise when it was happening (too much happening in my brain and trying to take them all in).
