[ad_1] GG News Bureau New Delhi, 16th Dec. In a major reshuffle, Maharashtra’s ruling alliance, Mahayuti, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has dropped 11 key ministers from its new government, triggering protests and unrest among their supporters. The most notable fallout comes from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar, which saw the removal of five prominent leaders, including Chhagan Bhujbal, Dharmarao Baba Atram, Sanjay Bansode, Dilip Walse Patil, and Anil Patil. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena have also seen three of their own ministers excluded. Supporters of Chhagan Bhujbal, especially in Yeola, have been vocal in their opposition, with protests breaking out in the region. Bhujbal, who has been left out of the cabinet, expressed his disappointment and announced that he would no longer attend the assembly session. He also stated that although he had been offered a Rajya Sabha seat, accepting it would not be fair to his Yeola voters. Sudhir Mungantiwar, another major leader dropped from the cabinet, contradicted claims made by Fadnavis. The Chief Minister had earlier suggested that Mungantiwar’s exclusion was the result of long discussions. However, Mungantiwar clarified that the discussion was brief and took place only on the day of the cabinet expansion. He also revealed that Fadnavis and state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule had told him he would be included in the cabinet, but this was not the case in the final announcement. The exclusion of other potential candidates has also sparked frustration. Shiv Sena’s MLA Narendra Bhondekar resigned from party posts, further fueling discontent within the party ranks. Another MLA, Vijay Shivtare from Purandar, expressed dissatisfaction with the treatment he received during the cabinet selection process. While he stated that he was not upset over not being given a ministerial position, he criticized the lack of communication and the way party workers were treated. Prakash Surve, another MLA from Magathane, highlighted the struggle he faced after shifting his loyalty to Shinde during the rebellion, and criticized the selection process that seemed to favor individuals with influential family backgrounds over seasoned party workers. Despite the growing protests, state BJP leaders, including Bawankule, have denied any disputes regarding the cabinet reshuffle, asserting that the allocation of portfolios will be finalized soon. Fadnavis has defended the reshuffle, stating that several ministers were dropped due to poor performance, and 25 new faces have been inducted into the cabinet. Among the new appointees are several high-profile leaders, including Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Ganesh Naik, Pankaja Munde, and Ashish Shelar. The reshuffle also includes four women legislators, with Pankaja Munde, who previously served as the Minister of Women and Child Welfare, being one of the notable inclusions. [ad_1] GG News Bureau Nagpur, 15th Dec. A total of 39 MLAs were inducted into the Maharashtra government on Sunday, December 15, in a ceremony held in Nagpur, just a day before the commencement of the week-long Winter Session of the state legislature. The event saw 33 ministers take the oath as Cabinet ministers, while 6 were sworn in as ministers of state. The Cabinet includes 16 members from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 9 from Shiv Sena, and 8 from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Among the ministers of state, the BJP holds the largest share with three MLAs, followed by Shiv Sena with two and NCP with one. The swearing-in ceremony paves the way for finalizing power-sharing agreements within the Mahayuti alliance. One of the key points of contention between BJP and Shiv Sena—control over the Home portfolio—has been resolved, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis retaining the position. Here is the complete party-wise list of ministers in the Maharashtra Cabinet: Cabinet Ministers: Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) – Home Ajit Pawar (NCP) Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena) Chandrasekhar Bawankule (BJP) Pankaja Munde (BJP) Ashish Selar (BJP) Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil (BJP) Hasan Mushrif (NCP) Chandrakant Patil (BJP) Girish Mahajan (BJP) Gulabrao Patil (Shiv Sena) Ganesh Naik (BJP) Dada Bhuse (Shiv Sena) Sanjay Rathod (Shiv Sena) Dhananjay Munde (NCP) Mangal Prabhat Lodha (BJP) Uday Samant (Shiv Sena) Jaikumar Rawal (BJP) Atul Save (BJP) Ashok Uike (BJP) Shambhuraj Desai (Shiv Sena) Dattatreya Bharne (NCP) Aditi Tatkare (NCP) Shivendrasinh Bhosle (BJP) Manikrao Kokate (NCP) Jaikumar Gore (BJP) Narhari Zirwal (NCP) Sanjay Sawkare (BJP) Sanjay Shirsat (Shiv Sena) Pratap Sarnaik (Shiv Sena) Bharat Gogavale (Shiv Sena) Makarand Jadhav-Patil (NCP) Nitesh Rane (BJP) Ministers of State: Akash Phundkar (BJP) Babasaheb Patil (NCP) Prakash Abitkar (Shiv Sena) Madhuri Misal (BJP) Ashish Jaiswal (Shiv Sena) Pankaj Bhoyar (BJP) Meghana Bordikar (BJP) Indraneel Naik (NCP) Yogesh Kadam (Shiv Sena) The post Maharashtra Cabinet Ministers List: 39 MLAs Sworn in Ahead of Winter Session appeared first on Global Governance News- Asia's First Bilingual News portal for Global News and Updates. [ad_1] GG News Bureau Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 12th Oct. BJP leader Pankaja Munde made a significant outreach to Dalits and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) on Saturday, vowing to address any grievances they may have during her annual Dussehra rally at Sawargaon Ghat, the birthplace of Sant Bhagwanbaba, a prominent figure in her Vanjari community. Munde’s address comes ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, where she seeks to regain support after losing the Lok Sabha polls in Beed district, a hotbed of Maratha protests led by activist Manoj Jarange. During the rally, she expressed concern over the increasing caste divides in society, stating, “If a vehicle hits someone, people ask the caste of the driver. We don’t want such a society.” The former state minister emphasized her commitment to the welfare of the poor, Dalits, and OBCs, warning that the BJP would take notice if these communities faced hardships. “To reciprocate for the respect I received, I will tour the state. The poor are waiting for good days by keeping their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership,” she asserted. Munde, who inherited the political legacy of her late father, BJP stalwart Gopinath Munde, thanked her supporters for their respect despite her electoral setback. She also urged laborers in the sugar industry to prioritize voting over work, as the sugarcane cutting season begins in October. The assembly elections for the 288-member Maharashtra legislature are anticipated to take place in November. The BJP is part of the ruling Mahayuti coalition, alongside the Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Shiv Sena under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In her remarks about the previous Lok Sabha election, where she lost to Congress candidate Bajrang Sonawane by about 6,500 votes, Munde stated, “I’m not desperate for a post… I will not abandon those who have supported me.” NCP leader Dhananjay Munde, present at the rally, highlighted the legacy of Gopinath Munde and Pankaja Munde, emphasizing their dedication to serving the people rather than pursuing personal gain. He called for unity among all communities, encouraging attendees to stand together to ensure the success of Pankaja Munde’s initiatives and to counter any divisive forces. [ad_2] Source link
