Visiting the Panama Canal 🇵🇦🚢⛴🛳 • It was nice to see it in person, but for whatever reason I expected to see something more massive. • That doesn’t mean it’s not a great sight and a marvel of engineering. The Canal is basically two canals that let vessels go from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and viceversa through levels of water being pumped into chambers sealed by giant hydraulic lock gates that open and close when the water has lifted or lowered a vessel so it can get to the other side. • It’s a timely process, but you have to be there to see it.
