Where To Stay In Seville, Spain: Hotels for Every Budget
From traditional Moorish palaces and opulent mansions, to stylish boutique hotels and lively hostels – this accommodation guide will help you decide where to stay in Seville!
Seville is one of my favourite Spanish cities. There’s something about the combination of architecture, cuisine and colourful surroundings that make it feel wonderfully exotic. Bursting with lavish palaces, fabulous shopping and some of Spain’s finest restaurants and tapas bars, the vibrant city is perfect for a short holiday. Also, with temperatures reaching double figures throughout the year, it’s a great spot for an autumn or winter city break.
Plaza De Espana, Seville
Arriving in Seville for the first time is an assault on the senses – you’ll find fragrant orange trees and aromatic jasmine plants, dazzling Mudejar architecture and the sounds of flamenco music in the streets. Marvel at the sheer size and grandeur of Seville cathedral, get lost in the winding streets of the Barrio Santa Cruz, and discover the flamenco joints and hole-in-the-wall bars known only to locals.

A Peek Inside: The Migration of Architecture
Seville is without a doubt one of the most historical cities in Spain, if not Europe. When you walk around the center, you can see the history everywhere, particularly in the architecture. This collection of pictures shows the courtyard of many different homes, hotels, and historical palaces. It shows the migration of each culture integrated into each courtyard’s design. In this collection, you can see touches of Islamic, Roman, and some Renaissance architecture being used throughout Seville.
Courtyards are used commonly throughout Spain, and you see many of them in Seville. They keep the area cool by providing shade and forces hot air to travel up, out of the courtyard. They can let natural light to pour in without the glare or haze of the sun. Courtyards are also great for families and neighbors to hang out together in a place that provides protection from the outside world. Courtyards are not only are significantly valuable socially and culturally, but can be very functional as well. Designers are able to take these courtyards and build them into their own with different inspiration. In many of the photos used in the collection, you may recognize Islamic, Roman, and even some Renaissance architecture inspired touches.
Seville has several examples of migration shown in their architecture. Roman architecture can be seen all around Spain. With their arches and columns, it is clear that there is some Roman history in Seville. In these collection of pictures, you can see that many of them have taken inspiration from the Romans. You can also see that in most of the photos, there are the three most common columns used; doric, ionic, and corinthian. However, the Romans weren't the only ones who had ruled over Spain in 206 BC. The Muslims had taken over parts of Spain in 712, leaving a lot of their culture behind even long after they left. In some of the photos, you can seen the common Roman arch along with some foiling around the edges. It is clear that the multifoil arches used by Islamic architecture inspired this. You may take note that in the picture that is featured from Palacio de las Duenas and Casa de Pilatos, there are overlapping arches. These, of course, aren't just featured in the famous mosque in Cordoba, but also in these courtyards. In many courtyards, you may find Islamic inspiration. Not only is Roman and Islamic architecture used throughout Seville, Renaissance architecture has inspired some courtyards, including the one in Hotel Palacio de Villapanes, where they used statues of cherubs. The use of cherubs was very common during the Renaissance period and has definitely provided some inspiration for Hotel Palacio de Villapanes. As history passes, the architecture and culture will always stay in Seville.
In this collection of pictures, you can see the layers of history as you explore Seville’s courtyards. It may not always be on the surface, so you should always try to take a look inside their homes. You'll always be surprised on what the Spanish have inside; in their courtyards, in their history, and in their hearts. Many cultures have left a lasting impression on Spaniards and you can see it in the different types of architecture used in their cities. People from all over have migrated in Spain and have left a little something in their hearts. Seville is one of the many places to see their history in their architecture, so you should always remember to take a peek inside.

12 Must Visit Cities in Spain
Out of Town Blog 12 Must Visit Cities in Spain
Travel Tips: 12 Must Visit Cities in Spain
The Kingdom of Spain has been one of the world’s most visited destinations. In 2015, more than 68 million tourists from all over the world came to visit the country, the largest recorded tourist influx, third to France and the United States in that year.
Gran Via Madrid – Must Visit Cities in Spain
That estimate continues to grow through time, and if you’re planning to add to that, you might be at a loss about which specific place in the 506,000 km2 you should go to. While each place in Spain is different and beautiful in their own way, here are the 12 must-visit cities that you should definitely see for starters:
Bear And Arbutus in Madrid
1. Madrid
Madrid, the capital of Spain, is the third largest city in the European Union. For many years, it has been one of the most visited cities in the country, with attractions that exude history, culture, and arts. The bustling Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace of Madrid, and the Museo Nacional Del Prado that exhibits some of the best art collections in the region are just three things that guests can see here.

Catalonia Gran Via
Featured hotel: Catalonia Gran Via (hotel info) is a hotel that is the epitome of Madrid hospitality—with a rooftop heated pool that offers absolutely stunning sights of Madrid at night, elegant rooms that are extra comfy, and a convenient location.
Nearest airport: International flights land and depart from the Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, also called Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), daily. The Madrid Municipal Transport Company bus line and the Madrid Metro Line are very accessible from there.
Sunset in Barcelona
2. Barcelona
Capital of autonomous Catalonia and the second most populous in the city, Barcelona is home to the genius architect Antoni Gaudi’s most well-known works of art, such as the still-incomplete Sagrada Familia, the colorful Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, and Park Guell.

Nearest airport: The Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) is just 14 kilometers from central Barcelona, which major airlines like Air Canada, All Nippon Airways and American Airlines utilize.
Salamanca Spain
3. Salamanca
Quaint Salamanca gives off a very historical feel, and some infrastructures are so old and well-preserved that they can be compared to places like Hogwarts. The oldest building in the city dates back to the 1200s. In fact, the oldest university in the entire country, the University of Salamanca, is located here. In 1998, the Old City Salamanca was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Here, dishes are still cooked in traditional ways, such as morcilla de burgos, tender lechazo cuts, and the city’s signature Queso de Burgos. Notable landmarks include the towering Burgos Cathedral and the modern Museum of Human Evolution.
