Ella Trip
It was a trip we friends planned for going to Ella. My friends were Mashan, Rajja, Laiya, Dilky, Natasha, Ruwini Akka and Pakshi Bro. It was a three-day trip. (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Day - 01
We started the day with 5 of my friends joining me in Kandy to get the train to Ella (we decided to get down in Bandarawella as we had a friend there so we could stay there). So we were waiting for the morning 8.30 train to arrive, but it was delayed for half an hour. Anyways we got into the train. It was very crowded and we had bought 2nd class tickets. So some of my friends got into the 3rd class area and it was a little less crowded and as we all were 6 people it had face to face seats which can seat 6 occupants so it was ideal. In the first few hours, we didn’t have a seat and we were standing and we got to know one group of people are getting down at a particular station so we stayed until then and we got that seat. We then continued our journey all seated and well. We chatted and had a good time in the rest of the journey. Going through some beautiful scenery. That’s Sri Lankan Railway experience for ya!. Finally, we reached Bandarawella station. We got down at the station and started heading to the town to get some food and something to give when we reach our friends home. We headed to a hotel in a shopping complex and we had some tea as it was around 4 o’clock in the evening. Rajja and I went to a nearby supermarket to buy something for them and came back. Then we got a call from our friend that she is coming in her car to take us to her home (she’s Ruwini Akka by the way). So we reached her home, it was a big 3 story house. Guys were meant to stay on the ground floor and girls in the first and the family were to stay on the 2nd floor. We made our selves comfortable there and they made us dinner and we chatted a bit and we slept the night. The room was one big room with 4 beds in it so it was cool that all the guys were in one room.

Day - 02
We started the day early morning as we had planned a lot of activities. Ruwini Akka has called and booked a safari jeep for the tour (it was so cool). We got ready and made our bags and breakfast, packed all of it and loaded it to the jeep. We all got in the jeep and started the safari. First, we had planned to visit a waterfall known as Pahanthuduwa waterfall. It was a sight to see. It was so beautiful we took a couple of photos as Pakshi bro had brought his camera so we had some quality photos taken. Then we had planned a jungle trekking so we went to the jungle to begin the trekking. On the way, we stopped near a dam to have our breakfast. It was a 4 km trek within the jungle. When we began the trek it was easy as hell just a footpath leading to the jungle. Then it was just the jungle all the way around it was really a tough trek from then on. We had to cross rivers and go through dense forests. Finally, we reached the end of the river for a waterfall known as Duwili Ella, which was a very relaxing sight to behold as we all were very tired of the trek. We stopped there for a nice bath in the river then had lunch over there and got ready to return. The safari cab we came in was parked on top of a mountain opposite the waterfall because there was a road uphill for the vehicle to get up there and close to us but it still was a long climb up to that area. We started and there was a hell of a lot of steps to go up and we finally made it to the top. Refilled our water bottles from a nearby water tap and continued to another place. This place was an archaeological site. But we weren’t there for sightseeing but for a rock climb. It was a short climb and when we reached the top of the rock it was really windy and when we went to the edge of the rock it was a sight to behold.

We hang out there for a while and took a lot of photos and then we started our descent. That was it for the day and we started heading home to get dinner and get good sleep and continue our trip tomorrow. I was so damn tired and my legs were trembling.
Day - 03
We started the day with a good bath early in the morning. Had a small breakfast and started our journey as it was our last day we packed our bags and were scheduled to get the bus home after the day was done. First, we headed to Ella rock for sightseeing. The view was magnificent. It was two rocks that had an almost 180-degree view. It was soo damn magnificent. After that, we headed for the usual Ella destination, the Nine Arch Bridge. We spent some time over there took some good photos and continued our journey. We stopped by a shop to have lunch, rested there for a while and then we headed straight to the Demodara Railway Station. It was a unique railway station. As it was situated on top of a hill after the train took off from the station it was the steep downhill slope. Going down that slope in a train is impossible so they had to improvise. Then they decided to build it in the way the local farmers would tie there headwear. It was a circular track that circled around the hill going down the slope gently and going under the station to leave the slope and get to the next station. The railway station had some cool locations and bridges for us to take some more pictures and self-portraits. Then it was time for us to leave. The cab guy dropped us in the town as only the boys were leaving today and the girls were leaving the next day as it will get late when we arrive at Kandy in the bus. So from the town, we had to take the bus to Badulla town. We were 4 guys so we took the bus to Badulla and from there we took the Kandy bus. It was almost fully crowded and I somehow managed to get a seat. I didn’t think the journey home would be a good one because I don’t like bus travel to and from hilly areas because the roads would have a lot of bends and stuff. Anyway, the bus started its journey, I put on my headphones and had good sleep and to be honest the journey was not bad at all. As the bus was going through Haragama to Kandy I could get down at Tennakubura and take a bus home. It was around 8 o’clock at night when we reached Tennakubura and I got down there. Then I waited for a bus to go home. A Mahiyanganaya bus arrived and I got in and it headed home in like 15 minutes so I was home at approximately 8:15. Then had a little chat with mom about the trip and then had dinner. Then went on to have a good sleep.
