from sketches to painting to the big screen, oh my! I finally get to share these after almost exactly 2 years in the making. my friend @cassandraholden (artistic director for Paint) reached out to commission about 5-6 paintings for the character “Ambrosia”, played by @ciararenee8 opposite Owen Wilson. I was given several specific subjects, the first was this: a ufo and a stump in a forest covered in (alien) blood. so I sketched a few ideas and they chose the composition. that was in April of 2021, so I’m SUPER excited to see the movie (just came out today, April 7, 2023!) and find out WHY a ufo/blood/stump!! (or maybe it’s a why not?) In any case, it’s pretty surreal to work on a project so long ago that I then get to watch in a movie theatre alongside millions of people…can’t thank Cassandra enough for thinking of me, what an opportunity and unforgettable experience! rumor is that this painting went home after the filming with @britmcadams (writer and director)! 🤔 🤩 😳 And that’s the story of that.
