i like to think lumine was just flabbergasted by childe being knocked out cold by the chief justice. everything was happening all at once, and then, just as suddenly as it had started, it was over. she knew he was fighting without his vision but still, with his delusion and foul legacy on his side it shouldn’t have been a problem.

at least, that’s what she believed.

when lumine sees childe laying there, unmoving, she thinks it’s some kind of sick joke. she rushes the stage, nudging and pushing at him until she realizes he’s not joking. neuvillette really knocked him out with one hit.

it’s at that moment, stomach swirling with apprehension and dread, that she realizes there’s far more to neuvillette than meets the eye.
