Scab this and scab that, how about you actually do something worthwhile instead of harassing and sicking your deranged fanbases on an innocent man for rightfully taking a role when he had no idea there was a strike going. Woah shocker, the non-American who isn't chronically online didn't know about the strike.

But at this point it's not even about the strike anymore, this is YEARS of unprofessionalism from not only Corina but a couple of the other ENG VA's as well. They're losers. They're fucking bullies. And they shouldn't have a platform if not being a stupid cunt is so hard.

Fuck you Corina, fuck the other VA's that are bullying the new Kinich VA, and especially fuck the dick riding loser nobody amateur VAs justifying the harassment the new Kinich VA is receiving. Fuck you especially, I hope your career never takes off.

Werewolf you're cool but that's not what got people angry. There's a bit more to the situation at hand.

It was because:

A.) Hoyo was alreaday starting to fill out roles or replacing unvoiced ones with international VAs who were either non-union or from a DIFFERENT Union. Heck this happened LAST MONTH in ZZZ with the VAs for Soldier 11 and Lycaon and to little controversy beyond the confusion Lycaon's ended up spreading.

People are upset because they're singling out Kinich's new VA and in a particular way that is liable to send harassment his way. Admittedly, the way he announced his role came across as tone death, but the way it was responded to was shitty as well.

B.) Kinich's new VA is stationed IN JAPAN. So even if he isn't already part of a JP unioni he couldn't join SAG AFTRA or the strike with protections even if he wanted to. I will reiterate again that he's not remotely the only VA that was pulled internationally nor even among the first. And again, he's the only international VA, let alone replacement on (as seen with S11 and Lycaon) that really got singled out here.

C.) One of the people lobbing "criticisms" was STILL voicing one of the characters in the game. In fact, her character Paimon arguably has the most lines on average per patch. And when this was pointed out she tried hiding behind her disability and needing to keep herself afloat. Keep in mind, Kinich's new VA also has a wife and kids to pay so it's not like she's the only one in the scenario trying to keep herself afloat.

I don't even think it'd have gotten as much fire is she in particular didn't join in.

D.) The optics are just HORRID. People are already slowly turning on SAG AFTRA (for reasons I'll get into later), but this just makes them look like a clique of bullies. They easily could've just let the silence speak for itself or at the very least call him out in a way that doesn't induce harassment- especially since they should know better, Paimon's VA is no stranger to starting drama like this in the past.

For clarification on SAG AFTRA losing support-

A lot of people are getting the impression that this isn't about AI Protections since if it was, Hoyo would've signed ages ago- Hoyoverse ALREADY works with companies or countries that have laws and protections against voiced AI including Sound Cadence which is heavily involved in ZZZ. Heck IIRC China already has these in place too.

It's the Interim agreement that's likely causing the problems and the biggest point of contention- Basically signing the agreement would mean Hoyo would have to boot out non-Union and Non-Sag Aftra Union VAs off of their projects if they didn't join SAG Aftra or get an exemption. Keep in mind several VAs from the start are also non-SAG. At best they'd be granted a Taft Hartley allowing them to join in for three instances, but the way it works could mean as soon as it's signed they hit the 3 strike mark instantly. Keep in mind joining the union is like $3000 and may include other expenses.

Now, Khoi Dao, the VA for Albedo, has stated that SAG AFTRA has expressed interest in helping these VAs... but that doesn't change the fact that this part of the agreement screws them over and could have easily been written out by now.

Sorry, don't want this to seem confrontational, I just want to clarify the situation and controversy as much as I can.

Friendly reminder that just because an actor accepts the risk of losing their job by striking, it doesn't mean they're not allowed to criticize the company that replaced them, nor the actor who accepted the job of replacing them.

If a company would rather recast an actor than sign an agreement that will allow that actor to come back, then they should be criticized for it.

If an actor is willing to cross the picket line and fuck over one of their fellow actors, then they should be criticized for scabbing.

It's that simple.

i just got wuwa too and im too lazy to change my language so i just play with the sound off lol.. why are the english voices so unlistenable??? especially yangyang?????

oh i wasn’t complaining about the eng voice acting actually, but about the game defaulting to the german translation jshsh

that being said, i did switch to the jp voice acting while changing the text settings, just bc i play genshin and honkai in japanese too and i want to try that first; though i didn’t notice anything too wrong with eng (i also didn’t pay too much attention though so i‘ll have to switch back and compare if i keep playing it)

also it’s important to not direct any dislike of a game’s voice acting at the actors directly, we never know what kind of directions they got

What Main Story quests rn have missing voices in EN?

This is a for both Genshin and HSR. I'm far behind in both games (still have the 5th act of Fontaine and haven't even met Argenti in HSR let alone touch Penacony) and I wanna know where would be good stopping points to wait for the VA issues to be settled since I play with EN voices so that I actually pay attention more.

EDIT: Check comments cause most different replies have said the same or similar things. Also if you can give context to what parts are specifically still mute that would be more helpful. As of right now I know HSR is all generally OK still.

can I just say that it makes me so mad to see ppl not using Yanfei at all because these big whale account youtubers talk shit about her being a bad character even though she's one of the best F2P friendly 4* dps characters in the game when you actually build her right, like I see them shitting on her w/o even reading her kit, playing her by spamming normal attacks and not using her scarlet seals. like you can hate on her playstyle, it's always valid to dislike a playstyle, but at least TRY to use her correctly first. I put her in a team with Emilie, a barely built Xiangling and an ok at best Bennet and she's beating the ruin serpent in seconds. You can hate her playstyle but don't call her a trash character until you actually play her once or twice. At the very least use her as a shielder a few times after getting her shield constellation.

Ok quick head canon of genshin impact, specifically of Aether as the traveller I think that Paimon speaks more than him because he is not that confident about his knowledge of Teyvat's language. Like I like how the voice line "About Language" in the travelers voice lines, Paimon tells the traveler that they learn really fast (probably because they hop from world to world) and how Paimon is really impressed! And then the remark that she is a good teacher

But like, even like that, traveler like never talks unless they have too in story, like even there is a voice line of Sucrose I think that she says "U don't really talk much" So I think that Aether just stays quiet because he is nervous to fuck it up with a pronunciation that makes him says something completely different

Bonus points if it's because of other travels where with Lumine he just started learning the languages and continuously had the experience of fucking up and saying embarrassing things, like, he meaning to say "Oh I had such a hard fight the other day, and my muscles hurt because of it" instead says "Oh I had such a hard night the other day, and my ass hurts because of it" and people just start laughing and he is just standing there confused until one of them tells him what he really said, Lumine laughing and teasing him the rest of the travel Now because Lumine it's not here he just doesn't even want to have that happen because he's already so stressed out he ain't risking it so Paimon takes over when he can't

It's really cute too how Paimon always tries to take care of Aether like mother fucker it's so cute how both take care of each other like a father-daughter type relationship specially with Aether just putting himself on the line for Paimon aaaaa
