2 Samuel 9:1-11-27, John 15:1-27, Psalm 119:49-64, Proverbs 16:1-3
Today is the 26th day of May welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm sorry…I was…I was like chewing something. Okay. I think I'm all in the clear now. I didn’t want to chew so close to your ear. So, here we are, the 26th day of May already to take the next step forward as we continue this journey. And first up, of course, we’ll be moving back into the Old Testament, which lands us back in second Samuel squarely in the life of King David. So, we’re reading from the Evangelical Heritage Version, the EHV, this week. Second Samuel 9, 10, and 11 today.
Commentary:
Okay. Second Kings today. It’s like we were going along so well. What happened? All of a sudden what happened? David has been this upstanding, upright, godly God-fearing king who brings justice to his people. The people respect David. They know what he went through with Saul and they watched his ascension to power and the way that he was humble in all of it. And the next thing we know, we flip the page and Bathsheba's naked taking a bath and he sees her, and he sends for her and she comes and she's another man's wife and…I mean…she gets pregnant, so they get together. And it's a difficult situation because it's the king. So, does…you know, she doesn’t really have any say in the matter, her husband Uriah is off fighting a battle on behalf of King David while King David is sitting in the palace sleeping with his wife. And then it turns out she's pregnant and she sends word back. So, now she is bearing a prince, the royal a royal child. And David's got this situation. But he seems to be decisive about what he is going to do and it's like what is going to do is only bad. He calls for Uriah the Hittite to come from the battle and what he’s gonna do is kinda give Uriah a furlough so that he can go home and be with his wife, get rested up, maybe cover-up the pregnancy. Not maybe. Cover-up the pregnancy and all that transpired to make her pregnant. But Uriah won't behave after that fashion. He has honor for his fellow soldiers his king and the battle, the mission that they are on and he won't…he won't do it. The irony is now, that Uriah is acting more like David than David. And David is acting more like Saul than anybody else in this situation. Saul tried to send David into battle lots of times to get him killed. Now David, after seeing that he's not going to get Uriah to go home and cover this whole thing up, sends him back to the front lines where he will most certainly be killed. And he most certainly is killed. One of the little, little pieces of this story that is so fascinating is, later on when we kinda get to the end of David's life and his reign we’ll meet a lot of names, like a big recap, all the different kinds of people that were involved in what they did and there will be the valiant soldiers…like the best of the best of the nation, they'll be named, the mighty warriors, the mighty warriors of Israel, the mighty warriors of King David and Uriah the Hittite was one of them. One of the most loyal, dedicated gifted committed warriors David had. He had him killed to cover up what he had done, which looks way more like Saul. And we’ll continue this story because it hasn't…I mean we’re kind of in the middle of this story. So, we have some more territory to cover but what seems to become quite apparent in this story is very very similar warnings that came through Moses. When you get into that land and you don't have anything to fight for anymore and all is going well, when you find that you are living in houses you didn't build, and you’re eating from vineyards you didn't plant, all is well all around you, prosperity is the norm then don't forget who your God is because when you make that turn it may take a minute but it's over. In so many ways that is what we see here. David has been a warrior, he has been fighting, he has been honorable, he's been holding and clinging to God for his very life. So many times, he’s clinging to God as the only hope to stay alive and God has kept them alive, but now he has subdued his enemies. He has been blessed. He has everything that he could want, and he wants Bathsheba. He wants something he can't have, he’s not supposed to have, but he's got it all and peace is on every side, and there's no reason to cling to God for dear life anymore. And, so, he gets himself to the position where this type of thing could happen. It doesn't have to…I mean for us to apply this to our lives doesn't have to be adultery, doesn’t not to be sexual, doesn’t not be anything like that. It could be anything that can distract us, anything that can make us self-sufficient, a decision that we make out of our own strength and out of our own power and out of our own means to do something, to do something despite God, to do something without consulting God, to do something that we might even know God would not approve of but we’re in a good place, we’re resourced well, we’re gonna do what we want to do because we’re not clinging for dear life. We've lost the plot of the wilderness, which is exactly what Moses was telling the children of Israel before they came into the promised land, “do not lose the plot of the wilderness. You are utterly dependent on God no matter what. And, so, when you get into the promised land and it doesn't look like that anymore don't forget.” David obviously has forgotten, at least for the moment, and we are guilty of the same so many times in our lives. So, let's think about that because the thing that we continually pray for is blessing and relief from the pressures around us, but when the pressures are relieved we no longer need to cling in utter devotion to God, we have things back under control and we…we repeat the cycle. If we could get off that train, if we could just truly finally realize we are utterly dependent on God no matter what, no matter what the circumstance. Whether the circumstances are trying or whether we just have infinite abundance, we are still utterly dependent upon God. When we lose that plot…I mean…this is one of the central plots of the Bible. Like all…what…let's just continue to watch. We’ll see what happens to a people when they lose that plot and then we can understand what happens to us because we’re in the middle of it right now. And as we can see from the story of David when you lose that plot, really really bad things can happen.
Prayer:
Father, we don't want to lose that aspect of the story. It's a central deep foundational part of our story. You have created us. You are our Creator. We are dependent upon You. We are not independent of You. We need You for survival. And You have only ever been willing to Father us, yet we just act like rebellious children most of the time. So, forgive us, because it is from Your hand that all good things that have ever happened in our lives have flowed, and we have no desire to dishonor or disrespect that in any way. But we do when we…when we get lost in our own story, when we get disoriented and upside down and start believing that we have control, and we have power and if You’re not gonna come through then we’re gonna come through. And we just get this thing so upside down and it has led us to the same place, some sort of destruction of our own making in some sort of way in our lives. And, so, we’re asking for forgiveness. We’re repenting, we’re changing our mind about this type of behavior. We repent. You are our only hope. We are utterly dependent on You for everything. Help us to remember this Father, we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi DAB family, I’ll call myself Child of God. I’m a faithful listener since October of last year and first-time caller. I’ve begun journaling daily and logging prayer requests. Though I’ve been a Christian all my life the DAB has helped me grow so much spiritually, especially my prayer life. After hearing Momma D from Indiana’s request for prayer for healing for her marriage even after two years of petition because of being encouraged by God Smile’s story, I decided to ask the DAB family for prayers for my broken family. We live in a small rural town and our three married children with young families all live here too, serving the Lord faithfully. We have a 30-year family business. We’ve raised our family here. After our middle son finished college and joined our business conflict began plaguing us. I was constantly playing mediator in the roles of wife and mother. My husband feeling betrayed if I’d side with my son on issues. Our success has made him prideful and headstrong. Delegating the work and spending little time actually managing the business or being there yet unwilling to let go of any power and decision making. He had an affair 4 years ago, he blamed me for it, and it went on for two years. This shattered our world. My kids were our rock for me through it all. Counseling helped me but my husbands hardened heart became more hard and the relationship between him and our son became worse. Our son sought counseling, but his father refused. Our son left the business 1 year ago and now his father goes around painting him as ungrateful, unappreciative, and disloyal. Things have gotten very ugly. We’re now separated. Please pray for wisdom and direction as I navigate through this storm, for my husbands hardened heart to be softened and for my hurting children and grandchildren. Thank you.
Hey DAB family it’s His River and Rain here calling from the UK. I’ve just been listening to the 8th of May and I’ve just heard our sisters Viola’s voice and I just want to pray for her Lord. She’s a very servant, prayer-filled member of the DAB family and she’s always calling in to prayer over us, always calling in to, you know, just give her prayers and give her blessings and comfort to people, Lord. So, I just want to pray that our sister Viola and she’s such a God-filled woman, you know, spirit filled and…and everything and I just want to continue to say God just to bless her just to love on her, comfort her. She’s always praying for us all and I’m just so glad God that you’ve chosen her, you’ve chosen Viola to be part of this family, you’ve chosen her at this specific time to be with us all, to praying for us all. And God I just ask that You continue to bless her and continue to favor her, continue to just fill her with Your Holy Spirit and anything that she’s going through God cause she continues to pray for us, she continues to pray for…for, for the DAB family. I just ask that anything that she’s going through, Lord may you bless it Father God, may You heal and restore anything that she’s going through and just continue to just fill her up God so there’s, you know, less of us and, you know, less of me and more of You, less of me and more of You God in every situation. We ask the same for Viola God. We pray over her so much God and we thank You so much. And so, to sister Viola, we love you, we love you so much and I love hearing your voice, I smile every time I hear it. And I just want to give blessings and ask that God blesses you and favors you and keeps you. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Hello Daily Audio Bible family. You guys have been a huge encouragement to me just hearing everybody pray for each other. I just joined the family in late February, early March-ish and I’m play catch up. So, you guys are about a month ahead of where I am so now but I’m still hearing all the prayers and all the people who take a genuine interest in the life of their fellow Christians and…and those people hurting and…and trying to lift them up and…and I came here looking to just find a place to hear God’s word and…and I think God has brought me here to…just to soften my heart and give me a heart for others. And you guys demonstrated that so well and I want to say thank you. And…and just keep it up guys. And Have a great day.
Good morning Daily Audio Bible listeners Isaiah 66:16-20 Come and listen all you who fear God let me tell you what He has done for me. I cried out to Him with my mouth, His praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart the Lord would not have listened. But God has surely listened and heard my voice and prayer. Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me. Psalm 67:1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us that our ways may be known on the earth…that Your ways Oh Lord may be known on the earth and Your salvation among all the nations. And I just want to praise God for what He has done. I had been praying for my youngest son Jordon who had gone…7 years ago had gone off on the wrong…the…the evil ways of this world. I mean he had…was bound by the enemy. And I never…my husband and I never stopped praying, we fasted, we prayed, we interceded, we always let him know that we were there for him, loved him and thank God last year he accepted Jesus all on his own through a YouTube video of a street preacher and now as of today he loves Jesus, he has surrendered his whole life. He has made King Jesus, king of his heart. He got married in February. He is having a baby and God is good. So, keep on praying for your sons and your daughters. Do not let the enemy take ‘em, you say no Satan you will not take my kids. My kids belong to God. Be like a dog on a bone, do not let go. Keep trusting in God with faith, tenacity and just keep on praying for your children. And ask God to guide you by His Spirit with what to do and how to help them in any way shape or form and pray for other believers to be placed in their life to be given the…the word of truth…

HEELLOOOO !! my name is amanda , i’m 19 years old , in est + use she/her pronouns :~) let me tell you when i first saw a promo for this rp on my timeline .... i was immediately so excited DFGJKH i’m looking forward to meeting you all and your muses ! under the cut you’ll find some information about my interpretation of the library. i introduce to you .... mandy labelle ~
view her stats page.
view some connection ideas.
( a proper full bio will come eventually )
♡ — on the surface;
full name : mandy aryn labelle.
nickname(s) : none.
age : 21 years old.
gender & pronouns : cis female & she/her.
uni + major : columbia uni + literature major.
neighbourhood : marigold park.
occupation : employee at jimmy's pizza.
♡ — more in depth;
triggers : brief mentions of death, indicated with a **.
unfortunately for mandy , she was born to a well known prosecutor in the area, victor labelle; who is notoriously known within crime groups.
daddy dearest makes himself out to be a good guy who always fights for the right reasons --- but in reality ? he is quite corrupt.
when mandy was 12, she actually caught wind of one of her father’s sneaky underground “projects”; he threw every lie and excuse under the sun at her when asked about it but she knew what she saw.
her escapism started here; she did everything she possibly could to avoid being at home. looking at her father and knowing he wasn’t who mandy thought he was hurt beyond words.
she delved into different literature. she loved getting lost among different worlds, desperately longing to go there. she started getting into live action movies & shortly after, found a great love for performance.. and thus, came a fixation on performing arts.
it was her new way of forgetting about reality; with drama class came pretending to be a whole different person -- how could she pass that up?
** it was a shock to a lot of residents when victor turned up dead in his bed one morning. the cause was suspected to be a fatal heart attack while he was asleep.
some rumoured his wife to have had something to do with it but it quickly died out at the realization of the damage it did to her and mandy.
despite it being a closed case, some people still think there was foul play involved. mandy is among these people, though she’d never admit it.
life was never the same after his passing. the mother-daughter duo weren’t making nearly enough money to stay in their mansion of a home and so, they moved to marigold part.
it wasn’t anything luxurious by any means but they’d eventually grow to love it.
his passing only made things worse for the girl. mandy’s life had been dedicated to trying to avoid her father, and their house in general, and now that he was gone, she never wanted to be in his arms more.
she felt like a bad daughter, a bad person. mandy was escaping for a different reason now. to run from her guilt. from her regret.
she’d put up a facade of sorts throughout school. she never wanted anyone to sense that something was wrong and so, she smiled. she laughed, cracked jokes; did whatever she could to draw the attention away from her saddened eyes.
she grew to become the type of person people wanted to be friends with ( or be, period ). they saw mandy as a dreamer, an adventure, someone who desires to see the world and everyone knows that one day, she will.
nobody knows her wanting to “see the world” really meant just getting the fuck out of elmridge. to escape her family’s misfortune; her mother’s expectations of her.
mandy became something of a changed person during university -- it was her first taste of real freedom. she came to believe that not everyone can be faking being a good person; that there are genuine people out there.
the facade mask she’d been hiding behind all these years has slowly started to peel back.
within this breakthrough, mandy now sees the world -- including elmridge -- in a whole new and brighter light.
♡ — other info;
bisexual / ravenclaw / chaotic good
she is quite the little rebel, honestly. she enjoys trespassing abandoned buildings to start little camp fires and smoke weed >:)
she has mixed emotions about going back home; she’s excited and hopeful yet dreading the fact that it’s their last summer before a life of uncertainty
a “swears in front of children by accident and then says ‘oh shit, sorry!’” type of person
she’s currently living with her mom again and it was surprise to see a little husky pup running around :’)) maggie is the cutest little bean
ANNNNNNND YEAH ~ i hope i covered all the basics. i am always down for plotting and headcanoning or just chatting so do hmu @ any time of the day or night if you feel like doing those things :’) my dscord is coochpetals#3608 !

hey !! my name’s amanda ( 19, she/her ) and this is intro post 1 / 2 for my lil babes :’) i was beyond happy to see an apocalypse rp in the tags because it’s my absolute faaavvourite genre !! aLSO i’m incredibly excited to meet everyone and all your muses !!! under the cut you’ll find info on my sweet pea lilly ~

☠ — don’t open, dead inside ! oh, wait ! that’s just lilly fairchild, you know, the cis female scout in the atlanta group ? she is nineteen years old and looks a lot like danielle rose russell, but i mostly just see them wielding a nail baseball bat. now that you mention it, i don’t think i’ve ever seen them without their cross necklace. which makes sense, since they seem to remind everyone else in their group of muffled screams into a pillow, candy sweet smiles, and shaky hands while pointing a weapon at a stranger. well, hurry up and let them in ! we can’t leave them for the walkers !
♡ — on the surface;
full name : lilly anne fairchild.
age : 19 years old.
gender & pronouns : cis female & she/her.
birthday : july 2nd.
traits : sensitive, optimistic, anxious, quiet.
♡ — before;
triggers : brief mentions of religion, implications of bullying.
was born to very religious and strict parents, anne and wagner fairchild.
was a very reserved person who rarely disobeyed and absolutely hated getting shouted at.
the sweetest little bean around ; she loved helping out at the nursing homes and frequently made lemonade to sell on hot days.
went through some Shit in high school and ( quite literally ) thanked god that word of what she did never got to her parents.
was at a friend’s birthday dinner when she got the desperate call for her to go home.
♡ — during;
triggers : brief mentions of death, killing.
it was hell trying to drive home from the party. traffic was backed up for seemingly miles; people were yelling and panicking, unsure of what the hell was happening.
after what seemed like hours, she finally made it home. but to her dismay, her mother seemed to be very badly hurt.
the last thing her mother did before her last breath was give lilly her favourite cross necklace.
lilly’s father had decided to go to their neighbours house to see if they had made any sense of the outbreak; leaving lilly alone with her mother.
this would turn out of the a very, very bad decision.
her mother ended up turning and attacked lilly. in turn, she had no choice but to kill her.
this memory was not one that would easily be forgotten and was one that she would still have nightmares about to this day.
lilly waited. minutes turned to hours, hours turned to days. she waited for a week for her father to come back. but he never did.
eventually , a group of bandits broke into her house which scared her out. this was the last time she’d ever see her childhood home again.
♡ — present day;
triggers : none.
a lot can happen in a year.
lilly had met new people, killed many of the undead, had said new people turn on her and she was once again left on her own.
scared and alone, lilly couldn’t have found the atlanta group at a better time.
within the 4 months she’s been with the group , she’s tried her best to prove herself worthy of staying. she decided to become a scout for the group.
she’s very afraid of ending up on her own again.
she sees all these strong people -- mentally and physically -- and she can’t help but feel so out of place. lilly was not made for an apocalyptic world.
but she’ll be damned if anyone thinks she’s going to give up. she’s going to fight until her very last breath.
♡ — other info;
triggers : mentions of anxiety and panic attacks.
bisexual / hufflepuff / lawful good.
experiences anxiety and has frequent panic attacks.
the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet :’’’) her hope simply cannot be tainted.
despite having not seen him since day one, she’s still hopeful that her father is out there somewhere. and she hopes to find him one day.
also gives the BBBBBEST hugs ever. for reals.
annnnnnnnnd yes ! i hope i put everything ~ i do have d!scord ( coochpetals#3608 ) if you’d prefer chatting + plotting over there instead :-)

everyone knows 23 year-old ARIA LIN, SHE is the town MEEK. SHE is a NURSE-IN-TRAINING who frequents FUNSPOT ARCADE during HER free time. i heard from someone that SHE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO A PAST MISSING PERSON BUT NEVER SPOKE UP ABOUT IT. it’s not surprising since SHE is OPTIMISTIC and SENSITIVE. everyone says SHE looks like NATASHA LIU BORDIZZO, but i’m not sure if i see it.
♡ — surface-level;
full name : aria lin.
nickname(s) : sunshine.
age : 23.
gender & pronouns : cis female & she/her.
orientation : bicurious.
occupation : nurse-in-training.
♡ — skillset;

♡ — in-depth;
triggers : brief mention of death .
all aria has known is life with only her father. she never really noticed other’s have mothers and she doesn’t until she was 6. every time she asks about mommy-dearest, her father never says much, if anything. his eyes glisten every time she asks which only makes her curiosity grow.
who is her mother? a question she would never fully get an answer to.
though she doesn’t know it, aria takes after her mother in every way possible; with her caring nature and contagious smile. believe it or not, she even studies to go into the same line of work as her mother did.
aria’s father teaches her from a young age that people will take advantage of her kindness. she doesn’t really understand why anyone would do that but she’ll quickly learn.
she’s barely 15 when she realizes she’s never anyone’s first choice for anything. there’s always someone fitter than her, someone smarter than her, someone cuter than her. but at that point, she’s gotten used to it but the thought of it still makes her sad.
aria has become accustomed to the idea that she’ll always ever be the nice friend who’s always in the background. honestly though, she doesn’t mind. she prefers being the friend who cares for others than being the one who gets hurt.
she’s 18 years old when her father finally breaks. aria had asked one one too many times about her mother. “She’s dead.” her father says; but he doesn’t mention how or when or why. “Now please, for the love of everything, stop asking about her. Please.” -- it’s almost as if he was begging. Being constantly reminded of his late beloved wife whenever he looked at his daughter was hard enough without all the questions about her.
aria can’t say she understands but she empathizes with her father. and that was the last time she’d ever ask him about her.
instead, she started her own research to find answers. it’d prove to be extremely difficult seeing as aria doesn’t know as much as her mother’s full name. but she’s trying nonetheless.
she’s starting to move on with life now; she’s moved into her own house with a few pets and a roommate. she’s training to become a full time nurse. she’s still researching her mother. she’s also started to dabble in researching the woods but shhhhh... no one knows about that.
annnnnnnnnnnd yes !! that is my darling , sweet + sad angel aria ! if you’re interested in plotting w/ her ( or just chatting and getting to know each other ) , feel free to hmu @ any time ~ on here or via discord :-)

also my d/scord is coochpetals#3608 if anyone prefers talking / plotting from there
— ARIZONA U is proud to introduce you to NIKITA TANAKA , the twenty-three year old , undergraduate psychology major in her/their SOPHOMORE year. most of their peers deem them as someone who is sweet, empathetic & polite but i know that some of their professors think they’re more emotional, clingy & skittish , maybe that’s why the police are still interviewing them on the reopened cold case. maybe it was because they were also EX GIRLFRIEND of DESTINY MICHAELSON. i mean that is just a little suspicious, but i only really think of golden hours, gold cross necklaces, crying at night so no one can hear & matching shirts with her grandmother when i hear their name, not murder. but i could be wrong. — FIVEL STEWART.

MORE IN DEPTH
a forewarning that there will be mentions of her being drugged + recorded while doing indecent stuff -- i’ll also put a warning on that specific bullet point so you can skip if it need be. & i’ll be talking about religion ( christianity ) throughout
born to a very religious & strict couple, bo and leona in a small town just 3 hours outside arizona.
she had to abide by the rules of god & the rules of her household or there would be “dire consequences” ( as her mother put it ).
in grade 12, nikita was invited to a house party by a girl named matilda… someone she would grow to hate. there was no reason to be suspicious and so, she went to this party.
WARNING ~ / nikita had been drugged & had done indecent actions while matilda & her friends recorded her.
^^ she woke up on the front doorstep when the sun rose ; alone & terrified.
the link was spread throughout the entire school & nikita was quickly made into a mockery. by some miracle, her parents never saw this link. thank GOD (literally).
prayed, confessed, countless hours of volunteer work. eventually, she was forgiven —– by herself or by her god, who’s to say. she still feels a lot of regret & hates talking about it to this day.
she always knew she wanted to study psychology & become a school counselor to be the person kids / teens can trust with their problems. nikki thinks it’s mEGa important for them to not bottle it up like she did.
NOWADAYS
she still very much loves god & prays often but she does it more in private and doesn’t really like to discuss religion with people. she does go to church every sunday though.
trying to live her best life tbh -- just taking each day as they come, trying to blend in with the crowd and not get into too much trouble.
really wanted to get out of her comfort zone for the rest of her university experience so she became a cheerleader as a back spot !!?! and to her surprise, she actually really enjoys it.
tries to be that person everyone can go to with their problems -- not only for practice but also because she genuinely wants everyone to be mentally healthy and happy.
RANDOM HEADCANONS
is a demigirl & goes by either she or they ! she literally...... never talks about her gender identity & she’s only really told her super close friends about it.
is a vegan & will get very sick if she eats meat :(
a hOPELESS FRICKING ROMANTIC. WOW. she loves love and will literally melt if you compliment her and wholesome things make her so happy
was in looooooove with destiny & still is !!!! she was her first ever same-sex relationship & nikita was the one to break things off because she didn’t want destiny to feel tied down or anything and she reeaaally regrets leaving her.
is simply too fucking wholesome for this world DJKGH. she gets hurt so easily and makes this really sad face while trying not to cry. shit’s so sad LMAO.
i think that’s all i wanted to add ?? if you’d like to plot, please hmu @ legit any time of the day or night + i’ll reply as soon as i see it !!! :”)

Please Come Home
Pairing: Ben Hardy X Reader
Word count: 3608
Summary: When (Y/n) falls pregnant with Ben’s baby, everything seems to be going well; Ben’s extremely excited to be a father, and he loves that she’ll be the mom. But when the two get in a fight and he storms out, everything in their lives comes crashing down.
Warnings: Pregnancy/live birth (a lil gory), blood/vomit/amniotic fluid, perineal tearing, verbal spat/fight/whatever you want to call it, allusion to abortion, fluff followed by heart-wrenching angst, DEATH. This is kinda dark, guys.
A/N: Wow okay, this is a thing I wrote. Uhhhhhh...enjoy?
~~~ He’d started the fight, and he knew it. He shouldn’t have stormed out, and he knew it. There were a million things he could’ve done differently that night, and he knew it. The only thing he couldn’t do was change the past. And it was killing him.
---
“Shit,” you whispered to yourself, staring at the pregnancy test in your hand. Somewhere deep inside, you knew it would be positive, but you still didn’t want it to be true. You and your boyfriend had too much going on in your lives to be worrying about a baby too.
You shoved the test into your jacket pocket before heading back out to the living room of your flat. Ben would be home any minute, and you didn’t see the point in hiding anything about this from him. You fiddled with your fingers, trying to calm yourself down.
About an hour later, Ben walked in the door, anger and frustration evident on his face. “Hey babe,” he said quickly, immediately heading into your bedroom.
You frowned. “What’s wrong?” you called after him.
“Everything is stressing me out,” he replied. “No one on that set takes anything seriously.”
You grimaced. “Well...I’ve got something to tell you.”
Is it important?” he asked, walking back into the room, now wearing sweatpants and a comfortable shirt.
You nodded. “Kinda.”
Ben sat down next to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Well, what’s up?”
You took a deep breath. “Promise me you won’t freak out.”
He frowned. “Why would I freak out?”
Slowly, you took the pregnancy test out of your pocket and set it down on his thigh, not looking at his face. You heard him gasp as he removed his arm from you and picked up the stick.
“Is this real?” he asked.
You nodded. “Yeah. That’s why I asked you not to freak out.”
“I’m not freaking out.” He took a shaky breath. “It’s just...wow.”
You let a tear slip down your cheek. “I have no idea what to do.”
Ben paused. “Well, we need a nursery, some baby clothes, some pacifiers, some diapers, a crib, some--”
“What?” You finally looked over at him. “You want this baby?”
“Of course.” He brought a hand up to your face, gently caressing your cheek. “I’ve always wanted to be a dad, and if there’s anyone I would choose to be the mom of my kids, it would be you.”
You let out a sob, burying your face in his shoulder. He brought his arms around you, holding you in a bear hug as best he could. “I love you,” you murmured. “I love you so much.”
He rubbed a hand up and down your back. “It’ll be okay. I’ll take care of you. And our baby.” He kissed the top of your head. “I love you too.”
You sighed, closing your eyes. “I may just fall asleep right here.”
“You do that.” Ben lay down on the couch, pulling you on top of him. “Just relax. We can talk more about this in the morning.”
You fell asleep shortly afterward, snuggled in the arms of the man you loved.
---
You were a few months along when Ben started experiencing severe nesting syndrome. You were hardly even showing and he already had the nursery almost completed.
“Ben, why won’t you let me see it?” you asked.
“Because, it’ll be really cool once it’s finished!” Ben gently nudged you out of the doorway. “I’ll be out in a few minutes.” He shut the door in your face.
“Alrighty then.” You went back into your room, sitting down in a rocking chair Ben had bought for midnight breastfeeding sessions. You picked your book up from the table next to you, opening up to the page you left off on.
A while later, Ben came dashing into your room, paint all over his shirt and a screwdriver in his hand. “Okay, it’s done!” He ran over, grabbing your hand and pulling you out of the chair. “C’mon, let’s go!”
He dragged you down the hall to the nursery, stopping in front of the door. “You ready?” he asked.
“Yes!” you exclaimed. “I’ve been ready.”
“Well, ta-da!” He threw open the door and stepped aside, giving you the first view of your child’s bedroom.
The walls were painted to look like an animated forest, with little decals of Winnie the Pooh characters stuck all over them. The crib was painted yellow and had stuffed animals of all the animals from the Hundred Acre Wood inside. There was another wooden rocking chair in the corner, along with a small wooden bookshelf stuffed with Little Golden Books, most of which were Disney.
You covered your mouth, taking it all in. “This is beautiful,” you said, finally stepping into the room. “This is amazing, I absolutely love it.”
Ben smiled, hugging you from behind. “Obviously we need to buy dressers for clothes and other toys and a toy box and such, but I figured this was a good start.”
“It is.” You turned around in his arms, standing on your toes to give him a kiss. “It’s fantastic, you did a wonderful job.”
Before Ben could reply, a small lurch was felt from your belly. Both of you gasped simultaneously, Ben reaching his hands down to touch your swollen stomach.
“Did the baby just kick?” he asked, eyes wide.
You nodded, a couple of tears springing to your eyes. “He did, he actually did.
Ben chuckled a little. “He?”
You shrugged. “I just know.”
Your boyfriend grabbed you in another hug. “We’ll just have to see.”
You sighed, snuggling into his chest. “Only five more months. That’s not that long.”
“It’ll feel like eternity,” Ben joked.
You giggled. “Yeah, probably.”
---
Once you got to eight months, Ben scheduled a pregnancy photoshoot. You’d always dreamed of having one, but you never thought it would happen when it did.
You’d picked out a beautiful blue dress that was fairly tight so your belly could easily be seen. You also wore some nice sandals and a flower crown of white roses. Ben wore a blue collared shirt that was the same shade as your dress, along with some white dress pants.
“It could’ve been a little less windy today,” Ben noted, smoothing down his shirt for the millionth time. You’d decided to have the shoot in a park with plenty of trees and flowers around. The only problem was that no one could’ve anticipated how windy it was going to be.
You nodded. “That would’ve been nice, yeah.” You pushed your hair out of your face. “Well, we’ll just have to go with it.”
“It’ll make for some interesting pictures,” Ben pondered.
Frankie jumped up on your leg, wagging her tail as she tried to get you to take the stick in her mouth. You giggled, grabbing said stick and throwing it into the trees. The beagle quickly ran off to find it again.
Ben sighed, wrapping his arms around your waist as best he could with your stomach protruding. “Have I told you that I love you?” he said.
“Hmmm,” you hummed. “I’m not sure. Maybe you should say it, just in case you haven’t.”
Leaning down until your foreheads were touching, Ben sighed. “I love you so very much,” he whispered. “And I love that you’re able to carry our child and be so strong about it.”
You pressed a short kiss on his lips. “I love you too. And I love that you’re so excited to be a father.”
He smiled. “This is all I’ve ever wanted.”
Before you could reply, the photographer popped around a corner, jogging with all his equipment in his arms. “Sorry!” he called. “Sorry, I got pulled over on the way here.” He set a tripod down on the path. “This is the maternity shoot?”
You looked down at your stomach before looking back up at the photographer. “Yes. Yes it is.”
“Fantastic.” The photographer set the camera on the tripod, pointing it at you and Ben. “Let’s just take a normal picture here before we move on and pose and such.”
Ben wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you into his side. “Sounds good to me.”
The photographer took several photos of you two just standing there, getting a few different angles and a few images with Frankie.
“All right, let’s move on,” he said after a while, moving to grab his tripod.
“Wait,” Ben interjected. “Can you take a few more here?”
The photographer sighed. “Sure, whatever.”
Ben turned to you, grabbing both of your hands in his. “(Y/n), I love you with all my heart. You’ve stuck with me through everything, you’ve made me a better man, and now you’re pregnant with my baby. Nothing in my life makes me happier than you do, and I can’t imagine spending the rest of my earthly time with anyone else. So, I have a little question…” He got down on one knee, pulling a baby blue box out of his pocket. You covered your mouth with both hands as he popped the box open, revealing a beautiful diamond ring. “(Y/n) (L/n), will you marry me?”
The camera’s flash went off several times as you felt happy tears fall from your eyes. Your hands dropped to your sides as you nodded vigorously. “Yes,” you choked out. “Yes, I’ll marry you!”
Ben stood up, grabbing your left hand a slipping the ring onto the correct finger. You turned your hand gently, admiring the way the sun hit the stones. Ben cupped your face and brought his lips to yours; it may have been the sweetest kiss you’d ever experienced.
He eventually pulled away, smiling as wide as ever. “I’m so fucking happy,” he whispered.
“Me too,” you replied, wiping away some tears. “Benjamin Jr.’s happy too.” You put a hand over the spot on your stomach that your baby was kicking. “I think he wants out.”
Ben laughed. “Maybe he’s getting cramped.”
You rubbed the spot your baby had kicked. “It’s okay, little guy. You’ll be out soon.”
Ben knelt down again, pressing kisses all over your stomach. “Yes, you will. And I absolutely can’t wait.”
---
“All I’m saying is that you could do a little more housework,” you huffed, crossing your arms over your chest. Ben was being pissy because you kept asking him to do your chores.
“I take care of you all day!” Ben snapped. “I can only do so much!”
“The dishes haven’t been done in a week!” you almost shouted. “I can’t even reach the sink!”
Ben rolled his eyes. “Okay, I’ll do the fucking dishes. Anything else you want me to do, Your Highness?”
“Jeez.” You sighed. “Sorry I’m carrying your baby and can’t do jack shit around here.”
“Well I’m tired too!” he replied. “You tossing and turning is affecting my sleep schedule too! And I’m having to do all the chores, all the grocery shopping, all the cooking, everything! And you’re telling me you can’t do one single thing?!”
You fought back tears. “No, I can’t. I’m carrying thirty extra pounds around constantly, my back is going to kill me, and I feel like I could go into labor at any minute. Not to mention that I haven’t slept for more than two hours at a time in three months!”
Ben threw his hands in the air. “Well, sorry I’m not pregnant and suffering with you!” he shouted.
“That’s not what I’m saying and you know it,” you replied. “I’m just asking you to pull some extra weight until the baby comes.”
“Is that not what I’m doing?!” he yelled. “I’ve been taking care of your sorry ass for nine months! I’ve dealt with so much whining and crying that you’d think you’d be out of tears from being sad about stupid shit! And nothing I do is ever good enough, you always want to nitpick what I’ve done wrong!”
“Ben--” you started.
“No!” he cut you off. “I’m tired of this. I’m tired of dealing with pregnancy symptoms, I’m tired of dealing with the constant nagging, and I’m tired of dealing with you!”
You quickly wiped away your tears, not wanting him to see you cry. “What the fuck, Ben?” you asked quietly.
He shook his head, heading towards the door. “I need alone time. I’ll be back tomorrow.”
“Come back here!” you shouted weakly.
“Shut the fuck up!” The door slammed behind him.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered to no one, burying your face in your hands and sobbing.
---
Everything was fine for an hour after Ben left. Then, once you finally tried to get off the couch, you felt a trickle of liquid running down your leg.
“Oh, my fucking God,” you murmured. “My water just broke.”
You stripped off your pants and underwear, sitting back down on the couch. You took your phone and opened the timer app to monitor the spacing of the contractions. You knew you should’ve called 911, but you figured you’d be able to do it by yourself; you’d watched plenty of birth videos on YouTube, so you knew what to expect.
As the contractions started to get more painful, you stuffed one of your pants’ legs in your mouth and bit down on it, trying to make as little noise as possible; you didn’t want to wake the neighbors or anything.
Eventually, you decided to call Ben, because you needed him there. You tapped on his contact and put the phone to your ear.
“Hey, this is Ben Hardy’s voicemail, please leave your name and a message.”
“Shit,” you rasped. After the tone, you continued speaking: “Hey babe, it’s (Y/n). Um...you really need to come home, now. I just went into labor and I need you here. Call me back.”
Every second seemed to be more painful than the last. You screamed into the fabric of your pants, trying to think of something other than the excruciating pain.
“Ben, please,” you whimpered into the phone for the fifth time. “Ben, please pick up.”
After what must have been two hours later, you felt the undeniable urge to push. You had no idea how dilated you were, but it felt like the baby needed out, now.
Slowly, with you pushing, the baby made its way out. Nothing could’ve prepared you for this type of pain; it felt like your whole crotch was on fire. You felt your perineal skin tear, eliciting a loud shriek from you.
Finally, once the shoulders had come out, the rest of the baby’s tiny body practically fell onto the couch. They began to wail immediately, causing you to sit up and quickly grab them and pull the small human to your chest.
After a few minutes of cuddling and trying to calm your child down, you finally checked if you had a boy or a girl, smiling when you saw you were correct.
“Hi, little Benjamin Jr.,” you whispered. “You’re so cute. Yeah, you’re a little squishy baby.” He only screamed in response.
You decided to make one more phone call to Ben. “I just gave birth,” you whispered. “I hope you’re okay. You...you haven’t answered my calls and I’m scared. What if something happened to you? You could be in a ditch somewhere and I’d have no idea.” The dizziness hit you like a truck. “Please come home. S-Soon.” You hung up and dropped the phone on the ground.
You didn’t want to pass out, not with a baby in your arms. Shakily, you stood from the couch and shuffled your feet towards the nursery, making sure not to drop the still-screaming baby. “Shhhh,” you said. “It’s okay. Everything’s okay.” You felt the same trickle down your leg, except this time you knew it was blood. “Mommy’s gonna be okay…”
You had to stop and lean on the doorframe of the nursery for a moment; the whole world felt like it was spinning. Your vision would go dark for a few moments and it scared you; you really didn’t want to drop the baby.
Slowly, you made your way towards the crib. Using both hands, you set the newborn down inside of it, sighing in relief. “There. Now we can sleep.”
Your head hit the rail of the crib as you passed out, crashing to the floor.
---
Ben’s POV
I rolled my eyes, taking a sip of my soda. “That’s the eleventh time she’s called me,” I complained. “You think she’d take a hint. I just want to relax with my friends for a minute.”
Joe sighed. “Dude, maybe it’s important, what if she’s sick?”
“Then she can deal with it.” I shook my head. “I’ve done so much for her and she can’t do anything to help herself?”
“No,” Gwilym said. “Because she’s pregnant. You’re the cause of her main problem, you should be there to help her.”
I scoffed. “It takes two.”
“Well, you’re the sperm giver,” Joe said, taking a sip of his soda. “So that means you have responsibilities as a dad, before the baby’s even born.”
I sighed. “Okay, you may be right. I just don’t want to be doing everything for her anymore.”
“She needs you now more than ever,” Gwilym noted. “She’s in pain a lot and has a hard time even standing up from a chair. Just go home and apologize and cuddle her to sleep. But listen to her voicemails first.”
I nodded, grabbing my phone and heading outside. I tapped on the first voicemail and listened to it.
My blood ran cold. And the rest didn’t help the anxiety curling up in my stomach.
“I just gave birth,” she murmured quietly. “I hope you’re okay. You...you haven’t answered my calls and I’m scared. What if something happened to you? You could be in a ditch somewhere and I’d have no idea. Please come home. S-Soon.”
I think I accidentally dropped my phone in a gutter, I don’t really remember.
I sprinted home. I didn’t even care if I barrelled into anyone, I just needed to get home, ASAP. I was so scared, but mostly just pissed at myself; I missed the birth of my child because I was angry at my fiancée. How pathetic.
While it usually takes me ten minutes to walk from our flat to the bar, I made it home in three. My hands were shaking violently as I unlocked the front door and threw it open, immediately horrified by the trail of blood across the floor.
“Holy shit,” I whispered. Almost reluctantly, I followed the blood straight to the nursery, from which I heard the terrible screams of a neglected, cold baby. Taking a deep breath, I turned the corner.
I’m ashamed to admit that I threw up at the sight. I vomited all over the nursery door. (Y/n) lay on the carpet, a large stain of blood and amniotic fluid growing around her. Her eyes were closed and her body was slumped in a way that didn’t look natural. A bit of blood ran down her forehead, leading me to believe she passed out and hit her head on the crib.
I fell onto my knees next to her, grabbing her wrist and feeling for a pulse. Tears fell down my cheeks when I didn’t feel anything. I placed a hand against her chest, feeling for a heartbeat. I stuck a finger under her nose to check for breathing. Nothing. She was dead.
“Hey,” I croaked. “Hey, babe, you gotta wake up.” I pulled her into my lap, leaning over her body and sobbing, my whole body twisting in sorrow. “Wake up!” I screamed. “Babe, you can’t do this, wake up! W-We have a kid to take care of! C’mon, get up!”
I don’t know what I expected; people don’t just bleed out and then come back to life. But I wasn’t about to let the love of my life slip away like that, after I’d ignored all her calls and essentially caused this.
“Wait,” I rasped. “Let me go call 911.” I stumbled into the living room, looking for her phone. I found it on the floor and quickly used the emergency function to call 911.
The call passed in a blur. I told them the problem, pleaded for them to get here as fast as they could, and then hung up. I made my way back into the nursery, truly hearing the cries of my child for the first time.
I picked him out of the crib, holding his small, bloody body to my chest. “It’s okay,” I said, my voice wavering. “Everything’s going to be okay, I promise. Daddy’s gotcha, you don’t have to cry.” I sat down on the floor next to (Y/n)’s body, my arms trembling. “Just let me do all the worrying about Mummy, okay?”
The ambulance arrived after what felt like forever. They burst in the door and immediately put my darling on a stretcher, wheeling her out the front door. Someone took my son out of my arms, and that’s when I actually broke down. I stared at the red stain on the carpet and sobbed, knowing I’d never be able to get it out, that it would forever be a reminder of the events that took place that night; how I was being a dick, how she gave birth without me, how I ignored her calls and inadvertently killed her.
“Sir?” a paramedic asked. “Sir, who was that woman?”
I screamed, putting my head between my knees and watching my tears fall onto the floor. “My everything,” I answered.
MAIA MITCHELL, FEMALE, SHE/HER, MUSE 30 ╾ don’t look now but molly o’connor is heading this way. last i heard, the twenty-one year old declared their allegiance to faction 2 during the last town meeting. it definitely makes sense, considering the fact that they’re known for being confident. that being said, they can also be quite deceitful. something tells me it won’t be long before their true colors start to show.
on the surface
stats page & pinterest & wanted connections
soft hair , sharp acrylic nails , in love with female villains , glossy lips , crying during sad movies but never admitting it , strawberry flavoured lollipops , blurry polaroids from the night before , rose gold phone cases , putting on an act .
scrunchies, thigh high shoes, heart shaped sunglasses, pink bralettes, fuzzy socks, chokers, pearl necklaces, dangly earrings, black leather belts, silky tank tops, tight dresses, layering bracelets .
more in depth
born into a family of riches , molly was brought up to feel this was the most important part of who she is
quickly took on a role she wasn’t ready for : she had to pretend
pretend she’s this clean , pristine , ‘daughter of someone rich’ character
never the one who was invited to parties ---- she’s the one who hosts them behind her father’s back
molly has always snuck around............. doing bad , probably illegal , things. she enjoys it tbh
always popular throughout school — not by choice ; people just seemed to cling to her
her mother was never around & her father ???? TRASH CAN ! so she sees her nanny as her parental figure
now that they’re in this “trapped town” & her father not being around ........ she’s letting lose way more & is kind of acting out DSKFGH ops
i’ll add a full bio soon !!
if i remember this correctly the honk HONK timeline is connected with Karkat not activating the curse that killed trolls' lusii.
Looks like it! Aradia says this on 3608:
AA: i believed the fragment was gibberish from a lunaticAA: after completing his rampage through our sessionAA: since it was not part of the scripted chronology i was oblivious until it was too late to stop itAA: not that it would matter if i did the timeline had already gone astrayAA: i pieced together what had happened by sleuthing the various scenes
“Since it was not part of the scripted chronology” is really interesting, since that’s pretty much exactly what the Pesterquest timeline is in a nutshell.
And then on page 3609:
AA: and discovered the text which the code was recorded inAA: i decided to return to the alpha timeline with the textAA: as evidence for his madness i guessAA: in the alpha timeline this text was destroyedAA: in an explosion caused by a computer virusAA: this explosion did not take place on my timelineAA: i identified this event as the difference prompting the offshootAA: and returned to our planet via the reckoning just as i did at the end of my lifeAA: though that time deliberatelyAA: to influence events quietly to make sure it happened
So this doomed Aradiabot went to the Alpha timeline to make sure the code that exploded Karkat’s computer actually happaned, because without it the ~ATH book wouldn’t be destroyed and Gamzee would be sent on his wild rampage.
Which, if we’re being technical, that event is never going to happen in Pesterquest since the code hasn’t been activated.
Of course, there’s something really interesting in Aradiabot’s explanation here. She thinks that the ~ATH book’s existence is what prompted the rage, but if we follow the pattern, it seems weird. We’re supposed to believe that in this timeline Gamzee just… suddenly goes off the handle?
We’ve seen that what usually triggers his Rages is not being high on sopor and therefore being susceptible to an outside voice he believes to be “the only person telling the truth”. So I’d assume something in this timeline stopped him from taking his sopor long enough for him to Rage, take the code, and put it in the non-destroyed ~ATH book.
Basically, it isn’t just the ~ATH book’s existence that caused the timeline divergence. He must have stopped eating his sopor, too, for one reason or another.
Of course the great big GLARING issue there is that in the ~ATH book timeline Terezi is in Karkat’s hive and her blood is splattered on his walls alongside his. So clearly this isn’t the Pesterquest timeline, since we know only Karkat dies in his hive in that one.
But it DOES seem like a fun little reference, if nothing else. And by fun I mean vaguely horrific. It also gives us more information on how this timeline probably did come to be, beyond just “the ~ATH book existed”.
Joshua 24:1-33, Luke 21:1-28, Psalms 89:38-52, Proverbs 13:20-23
Today is the 22nd day of April welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it's always great to be here with you. Always great to see everybody coming in around the Global Campfire just settling in as we take our next step forward. We have been reading in the Old Testament from the book of Joshua for a little bit. Today we will conclude the book of Joshua and move into some brand-new territory tomorrow as we begin the book of Judges but let's finish the book of Joshua strong. We’re reading from the New Living translation this week. Joshua chapter 24.
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the gospel of Luke today we saw this very very brief story just a very very brief couple lines. Jesus is in the temple complex and this is all before His disciples are admiring the temple and all the buildings of downtown Jerusalem. And this is where Jesus is like, “this is all coming down. Like, there won’t be any stone left unturned. The whole thing is coming down.” And of course, this is referring to what will happen in the future within the next 50 years. Jerusalem will be destroyed by the Romans. We’ve talked about this. They were looking for a Messiah. Jesus came. They got rid of Him and then they decide to take matters into their own hands later and rose up and revolted against Rome and were…were crushed in that process. So, we’ve talked about that. But just before all of that Jesus is in the temple, and there's this…well…there’s a collection box. So, the offering is being given and they’re just watching people put money into the collection box to care for the temple. And it's here that we learn something really interesting about the way God looks at things because they're watching people give plenty of money and then they watch a poor widow give 2 minas…2 small…like pennies…2 small kinda…kinda coins, the smallest amount of currency. Jesus comments on that, that the poor woman who put the two tiny little coins, like really hardly any money at all, that…that she had given more than everybody else because everyone else had given out of their surplus. They still had plenty in their own control, but she had given all that she had to God. In other words, she put all of her trust about her existence in the future, including the next day in God's hands. And, so, as Jesus comments on this this tells us how God is looking at things. It's not like, “o, you can stroke the million-dollar check because you're so wealthy and God's so impressed with that that somehow you’ve gotta have high honor when stroking that million-dollar check is way more than almost any of us could do. If that's your surplus, if you worth a hundred million dollars and you give a million dollars, certainly that's more than almost anybody else could give but the person who gives two cents and that's all that they have and they are completely and utterly dependent upon God from that point forward. God sees that.” So, it's not about how much you can accumulate it’s about how much you're willing to trust God with what you have. And that brings out quite a bit of clarity when Jesus is like, “it's very difficult for rich person enter the kingdom of heaven”, right? Because a rich person has a lot under their control, and they feel a lot of control about what they have. So, if they give a bunch of money that's a bunch of money, that's great and it's a blessing to the kingdom and everything but they still have a surplus that's way way way more…like everything is…nothing has changed. Like they’re still in control, when entering into the kingdom is the profound awareness of complete and utter surrender, and dependence on God for the next breath and everything else. And, so, that's definitely some things to think about from the gospel of Luke today.
Then in the book of Joshua, we concluded the book of Joshua today. And, so, we will be turning into the book of Judges tomorrow and that is sort of the story that comes next and it's a very very different story than the one we've been reading. So. we’ll get to that tomorrow. But we remember when we said goodbye to Moses, and we took a minute just to honor that. Like we traveled a long way with Moses, went through a lot of stuff and bore witness to the wandering in the wilderness and the message of the wilderness and just the story of the wilderness. And then Joshua led the people across into the promised land and settled the promised land and now we’re saying goodbye to Joshua. He was 110 years old and Joshua did similar things to what his mentor Moses had done. He gathered all the people together to…to essentially give them a final charge. He reminded them of where they came from and how they had gotten to where they are and who God was and then he said something that is very very famous, “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” And that was sort of the…the apex of what he was trying to say, the pinnacle of what he was trying to stress to the people, and they responded in kind, that they would serve the Lord as well, that they would remain in the covenant that the Lord had made with them and that they would honor and serve God. Then Joshua said something just profound, profound enough that it echoes all the way into our laps. “You are a witness to your own decision. You have chosen to serve the Lord.” And the people responded, “we are witnesses to what we have said.” Can we just make that immediate? We are witnesses to our own decision. We have chosen to serve the Lord. Our lives are the witness to whether or not we are honoring that covenant. That right there cuts to the chase. Like it…it…it cuts to the bone, like gets to the bedrock after the same fashion that…that Jesus would speak and answer questions with questions and speak into situations that are the bedrock of what's really going on. If we, if our lives, if the weight of our lives in this world, the influence, the impact of our lives in this world does not serve as a witness to our decision than all we have is words. And we have learned from the Scriptures plenty, but we also already know this, talk is cheap. It can say anything. But how you live, that's what you believe. And, so, Joshua is bringing that front and center to the children of Israel who are now settled in the promised land, a story that we have been chasing since the book of Genesis basically this whole year. Now they are settled in the promised land and their leader Joshua is bringing things front and center. This is what he wants to stress before he becomes history. It's that important. And, so, let's take it from Joshua, let's take it from the Scriptures as that important. You are a witness to your own decision. You have chosen to serve the Lord.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit come into that declaration. This has been our declaration all along but maybe we’ve never thought that our lives are a witness for or against us, that our lives are a witness for or against You, that often what we say and how we actually live are different. And that should not be. And, so, as we leave the book of Joshua and begin to turn the page into the story that comes next, we will certainly learn plenty. But we’re right here right now being a witness to our own decision. And may we hold it with the gravity and the honor that it deserves. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Announcements:
Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi fellow DABbers this is Rosanna and I'm from Johnson City TN and this is April 15th, and I just heard the prayer request from Alec and Tyrone. Alec has a wife named Jesse who has terminal cancer and she's out of treatment options and Tyrone has a wife who is an unbeliever. And, so, I just want to pray for both of these gentlemen. Dear heavenly Father we come to You and we petition to You on behalf of Alec. Lord Jesus You are the giver of good gifts and You bring healing to our bodies. You still do that today and I pray that You would be with Jesse. I pray that You would supernaturally touch her body and I pray that this cancer would fall away from her body in the name of Jesus. I pray that You would bring a full healing, a supernatural healing that brings glory to Your name. I pray for Tyrone. I pray for his wife. I pray that You can open her eyes, open her heart, open her ears so that she can see Your great love for her, and she can see the fact that You are still pursuing her. And I pray that she would strengthen their marriage and that You would just overcome her with Your love and help her to see You. And God, I thank You for the Daily Audio Bible. I thank You for the fact that it helps so many people to know about You and Your…and Your word and Your love for us. And I also pray for my own mother who has terminal cancer and she's in the exact same position as Jesse. I pray that You would supernaturally heal her and touch her body and bring a complete healing. We love You Jesus. We know You're in control.
It's April 16th Friday my name is Ted from California. All week since the weekend I've been going through a lot of anxiety spiritual battles depression. Something triggered it. I'm not sure. I'm hurting right now, and I just need a lot of prayer and I'm trusting in God to pull me out of this and to make it better and I just want to tell pastor Brian that without this this app and everyone else in the DAB community I would be lost for sure. And, so, I just ask for your prayers and your support. I love you and I thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Good afternoon today is Friday April 16th, 2021 my name is Shondra Brooks and I'm calling from Maryland and I wanted to leave a two-part message. The first being a song, a simple song that's always in my heart and just as a reminder for everyone who hears this call and sings. And the song is somebody's prayed for me, you put them on my mind, you held…I'm sorry…you put me on their mind, they took the time and prayed for me. I'm so glad they prayed. I'm so glad they prayed. I'm so glad they prayed for me. As simple as it is it means so much and it's a major representation of Daily Audio Bible and I'm grateful for Brian and Jill and everyone who even works in the background because truly just the opening message when I first started listening in 2014, I just felt like crying because I was like wow, you know, someone will be able to hear me, and they'll be able to…and pray with me and for me. And it is appreciated. I also wanted to say I am so grateful and thankful for this. I haven't even gotten to the 1st of April as far as the podcast, but God is so faithful and so awesome that the parts that I hear, they directly coincide with where I am and my life and what I need to hear to encourage myself. And in saying all that just to keep it short and sweet, I love you guys. I'm constantly praying for those whose prayers come through and everyone just continue to be faithful even if you feel…feel…feel…feel fearful to call in. God knows your heart. He knows what you stand in need of even…
Good morning family I’m Honeybee from Louisiana. I called in in August expressing my frustration over 20 years of eye surgeries, over 20 eye surgeries but now I'm in a very desperate place for a miracle. I had a macular hole appear the left eye in August and in February there was bleeding in my eye, in the right eye, and the doctor went in and he said there were two blood tumors, and he couldn't remove them. He did laser them and remove the blood and put it a gas bubble, all that fun stuff, but it's been two months and he said the eyes full of blood, the pressure is so low that the muscles are starting to lose their shape and what happens is the I caves in and this is the first time in 20 years I said I don't want to have a surgery. I just want to keep my eye. I've lost my sight in my right eye. I can't see it all for the last two months, but he said you will lose your eye if we do not do this surgery. And then he said if we do it you still might lose the eye. So, please pray for me. I need…I'm discouraged, and I need a miracle. I need God to remove these tumors and restore the pressure and restore the site and I appreciate your prayers. Thank you, my family. I love you.
This is Steve from Branson Mo and I just want to lift up two fellow DABbers in prayer. The first one called in a few weeks ago and I've been praying for you daily since. Your name is Jermaine and you're in upstate New York and you're incarcerated. And I just want to let you know that I've been there. I understand what you're going through. I'm thinking of you and I'm praying for you. And the second one is a man who didn't…didn't give a name. He just called in and said that he was not worth anything to anyone and I am praying for you too. I've had those feelings and continue to have those feelings. And Father I lift up these two gentlemen to You in the name of Jesus. Touch their lives. Heal them emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically. Father, touch their lives and make them whole. Give them self-worth in the name of Jesus. Amen.
hey !! amanda here with intro 2/2 ! under the cut you’ll find info on my angel annisa ~
view her stats
view her wanted connections page
☠ — don’t open, dead inside ! oh, wait ! that’s just annisa liu, you know, the cis female general member in the mountaintop community ? she is twenty-two years old and looks a lot like brianne tju, but i mostly just see them wielding a cleaver knife. now that you mention it, i don’t think i’ve ever seen them without their sister’s polaroid photo. which makes sense, since they seem to remind everyone else in their group of scribbling distant memories into a journal, staying up a little too late to watch the stars, and longing for something that’ll never be. well, hurry up and let them in ! we can’t leave them for the walkers !
♡ — on the surface;
full name : annisa liu.
age : 22 years old.
gender & pronouns : cis female & she/her.
birthday : april 1st.
traits : sneaky, worrisome, intelligent, appreciative.
♡ — before;
triggers : none.
was born to loving adoptive parents, maribel and anika liu along side her sister, riley.
the sisters had a very typical upbringing; all was chill in the liu household.
annisa was quite a .... “teachers pet” / “people pleaser”.
she haaaaaaated when she knew someone didn’t like her. she was constantly trying to change her personality to suit those around her.
doing so was quite tiring and she was labelled as being fake for the last year of high school. it... was not a good time. eventually, she learned how to ‘dial it down’ and allow her true colours to shine through.
she was planning on going to college as a literature major -- she loved writing. but unfortunately, the outbreak hit her city shortly before she was set to leave.
♡ — during;
triggers : brief mentions of death, killing, slight gore.
the first few days were disastrous. annisa had seen things that she thought were only possible in movies.
on day 8, the liu family thought it would be best to get out of the city and hold out in their camp.
they made it but unfortunately, the undead always find you. that was something the liu family quickly learned.
a horde had wiped through their camp. luckily, the sisters were able to find safety on top of the roof but their parents were less fortunate.
they were lost among the horde of zombies.
it was an extremely tough decision but while their parents were being swarmed, they were shouting at the duo to make a run for it. and they did.
they were able to survive for a few weeks on their own. they didn’t trust anyone -- that’s how they survived.
day 60 is when everything changed. her sister got bit and annisa was the one to put her down. though, she felt lucky to have saved a polariod photo of the two of them to keep.
something snapped in her that day.
♡ — present day;
triggers : none.
she didn’t mind being alone. in fact, for months she’d learned how to survive on her own.
eventually, she caught wind of the mountaintop community and figured it was time for a change. so, she joined the group and has been in it for about 2 and a half months now.
annisa still tends to avoid people ( even if she doesn’t mean to ) because it’s all she’s ever really known in terms of survival.
hopefully she’ll eventually warm up to the idea of the community being her family.
♡ — other info;
triggers : mentions of marijuana.
bisexual / ravenclaw / chaotic good.
literally has a hidden stash of weed under her bed that she’ll sometimes smoke to “take the edge off”.
still has flashbacks of when she killed her sister and will sometimes cry herself to sleep.
she.... is very good at guitar and would Cry if someone gifted her one. she misses it so much </3
annnnnnnnnd yes ! i hope i put everything ~ once again , i do have d!scord ( coochpetals#3608 ) if you’d prefer chatting + plotting over there instead :-)
The Mediterranean Diet Isn’t What It Used to Be
New Post has been published on https://behealthy99.com/the-mediterranean-diet-isnt-what-it-used-to-be/
The Mediterranean Diet Isn’t What It Used to Be
Oct. 4, 2021 — When Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, some residents of Pompeii, Italy, sought shelter in stone vaults on nearby beaches, but to no avail: The lava flows still took their lives. But molten rock did not erase evidence of how they lived and what they ate. Their bones tell a story of how the Mediterranean diet has changed over time, according to new research.
In a study published in Science Advances, researchers describe using proteins from the bones of 17 of these victims to determine the food sources that nourished the people of Pompeii.
We are what we eat, and our bodies build new material using the protein we take in. Bones are in a constant state of breaking down and building up, and the proteins they contain will reflect what’s in our recent diet. In the recent study, researchers compared features of protein content of the bones to those of fish, land animals, and food plants from the same time period to determine who was eating what at the time.
They found that men ate more fish and women tended to eat more land animal products and locally grown fruits and vegetables. Fish was harder to access and thus more expensive, the authors say, suggesting that the higher social status of the men could explain the gender gap in their diets.
For the modern human, the findings suggest that the Mediterranean diet, often touted as most healthy for us, has changed a bit over the last 2,000 years or so. Residents of the area at the time of the Vesuvius eruption probably ate a lot more fish than the diet includes today, but less in the way of grains.
The study’s approach “also provided dietary data of sufficient precision for comparison with assessments of food supply to modern populations, opening up the possibility of benchmarking ancient diets against contemporary settings where the consequences for health are better understood,” the researchers said.
