I started reading Padawan (a book about Obi-wan Kanobi's padawan years) and I gotta say Obi-wan is a very reliable character. He is so nervous and on edge. I find Qui-gon leaving without telling him very interesting. It seems like a thing Qui-gon would do being honest. I like that Obi-wan decided to go anyway and see what this tells him. If you pay attention to the droid (Ace) it's green, black and silver which is close to the arrow flag (green, light green, white, gray, black) Tho I'm not there yet I know it's hinted that Obi-wan is not straight so. I'm so excited to finish the book.

For Obiwan specifically i think love fucked him honestly (lol)
i remember reading books when i was younger about quigon and it rlly seemed like obiwan got out of that trying rlly to be like the opposite of him,
and then we get like satine and their whole affair, i think just in the case of obiwan he DOES exemplify that their flaw is being so uptight that they refuse to acknowledge that love is gonna happen no matter what, like i think that if obiwans past hadnt been what it was, and that he couldve been the genuine loving support that anakin clearly needed, maybe his fall wouldnt have been so tragic
But also we do get those moments with other masters telling anakin that its ok to love ahsoka but to trust that she can be let go and take care of herself
its that difficult balance that some of the masters find, because obvious youre raising this child basically as your own, youre gonna end up forming an attachment and youre gonna love them and be proud of them (hopefully lol) but still know that one day this padawon is going to grow up and become a knight and be on their own
The whole jedi code abt there being no emotion or whatever i think can be taken a little too literally so we end up with this stoicism that isnt rlly fair to the jedi i think that the attachment thing is like
attachments are so important to ppl for their emotional wellbeing, i think i agree that its just like, oh just be too careful bcs the force is tricky, and when you have that muh power you dont want to do something risky like anakin ended up doing bcs of palpatine
Would you say the Jedi’s biggest flaw is that they did not love at all, or that they loved and refused to admit it? Because obi wan clearly loved anakin, but it’s not like he could say it out loud, and that kind of repression can do numbers on a person. I think Dave also said that Qui-gon loved (and that there wasn’t anyhting wrong with that), and I think of some of the other Jedi that formed “attachments”. Does “attachments” mean only in times of a bond deep enough that you would do literally anything to keep the other person alive? Or when the bond is deep enough to cause intense pain when the person leaves/dies? I can’t tell if I’m arguing semantics or not.

Words Man
This page only has twenty-six pieces of inordinate dust on it. Twenty-six little never changing hallelujahs. It’s not a list of twenty-six objects, fashion tips or cool fish. It is not a twenty-six line political statement, stressing us to twenty six breakdowns. Just twenty-six letters.
Sure, they repeat and repeat like a broken record player but each sound is just as good the thousandth time around. If they were any more letters, how awkward would your keyboard look?
There’s a whole book with words explaining words, and sometimes you have to look up descriptions to know what the meanings of the describers are. There are ten letters in the word Dictionary, and an astronomical amount more inside of the object.
But really there are some fantastic words in my language that should really be used in every day conversation. And that, young padawon, is the reason you have clicked on this little blog and begun to scrap the surface of what I think about when I am about to fall asleep at night… or when I’m supposed to be doing my homework... but whatever this is way more interesting and you are still learning so whatever.
1. Harbinger: A person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another
2. Spong: A piece of land in the shape of a tongue.
3. Sisyphean: a task which can never be completed
-Based on the Greek story Sisyphus in which there was a king by the name of Ephyra who was punished for chronic deceitfulness. The punishment he was sentenced to was to be compelled to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll down and repeat the action forever.
4. Lycanthropy: The ability to change from human to wolf or vice versa.
                  -Werewolves man. Werewolves
5. Borborygmus: A rumbling or gurgling noise made by the movement of fluid and gas in the intestines.
6. Aphelion: The point in the path of a celestial body (as a planet) that is farthest from the sun.
7. Doodlesack: Old English word with the meaning “Bagpipe”
-Those old English people knew what they were doing
8. Ataraxia: A state of freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety; tranquility.
9. Pulchritude: Beautiful, beauty
10. Quagmire: a soft boggy area that gives way underfoot
And those are just ten astronomically outstanding words. For more check out this website! Click hereeeeeeeeeee.
With endearment- Ruth
