Today marks the launch of @p.a.c.t_official, a non-profit organization created by California shop owners for the purpose of representing the interests of tattoo artists and collectors in California. We have the building blocks in place, but we now need to rally the support and finances to back it up. Right now, we are asking you to help the cause by donating any amount, large or small, to the official P.A.C.T GoFundMe account (link in bio). You can also find it by searching Professional Association of California Tattooers. Our team has hit the ground running, and we already have professionals from various industries doing the good work. We partnered with a team of experts who have helped organize and represent similar California industries, including a 30-year veteran registered lobbyist and nonprofit corporate attorney, a PR firm with excellent California media credentials, and others with specific expertise in online/social media, grassroots organizing and statewide influencing. Some in this group even helped establish an exception for their industry clients in AB 5, allowing their industry (beauty/barbering) to continue to legally utilize independent contractors, so they have a proven track record of success in Sacramento. In the coming weeks, we plan on rolling out a number of programs including opening up memberships to industry professionals, developing a robust website outlining our long term goals, providing important information about our organization, mobilizing a volunteer force, and much more. With the controversial California Assembly Bill No. 5, and now the late phase re-opening for tattoo shops, it has become apparent that we need to get hyper organized if we want our voices heard. @p.a.c.t_official is calling on EVERY tattoo artist and collector state wide to show California and the rest of the country that we want representation. P.A.C.T. has hit the ground running, and we already have professionals from various industries doing the good work.
