A Memphis woman banned from every Walmart in the U.S. was arrested earlier this week after she allegedly used a self-checkout scam to shoplift packs of ramen noodles and other items from one of the retailer's stores, according to police.

A Memphis police officer wrote in an affidavit, which was obtained by USA TODAY, that the 37-year-old woman was charged with criminal trespass and theft of merchandise of less than $1,000. The woman, who the officer said is a "known shoplifter," was arrested at a South Memphis Walmart location on Feb. 10 around 3:44 p.m., according to the court document.

The woman is on the Authorization of Agency (AoA) list, and therefore is "not to be at any Walmart location in the United States due to prior shoplifting encounters," according to the affidavit. An AoA list for trespass is a legal document where a property owner formally authorizes law enforcement agencies to take action against individuals found trespassing on their property, including arresting them.

“We value our customers and associates and want them to have a pleasant shopping experience. Though rare, there are instances when someone is no longer welcome in our stores,” Walmart said in a statement obtained by WREG.

A company spokesperson said they are working on providing a statement when contacted by USA TODAY on Thursday.

What was the woman accused of doing at the Walmart?

A witness in the Walmart told the police officer she saw two women "stealing from the store," the affidavit reads.

The woman banned from the store was caught on a Walmart camera using an old watch barcode battery to scan all her items for $1 while using the self-checkout machine, the police officer wrote in the affidavit. During the fraudulent transaction, the woman stole 11 packs of ramen noodles, a pair of women's boots, blue jeans and a T-shirt for a total of $137.34, the affidavit reads.

The other woman who allegedly participated in the scam stole a backpack, two bras, a lash kit and an automotive accessory that all together cost $57.86, according to the affidavit. She received a misdemeanor citation for theft of property, the court document continued.

According to Shelby County court records, the banned woman was found guilty of shoplifting at a Circle K store in Memphis on April 22, 2024. The convenience store's clerk told police that the woman stole $33 worth of items, including four sandwiches, two slushies, one bag of chips and a can of cheese dip, an affidavit filed on May 9, 2024, says.

The store clerk identified the woman out of a six-person photographic lineup, and she was subsequently charged with theft of merchandise less than $1,000, according to the affidavit.

Other Shelby County court records accessed by USA TODAY show the woman was also found guilty of stealing $502 worth of items from a Nordstrom Rack in February 2023; $381.25 worth of items from a Dicks Sporting Goods in November 2021; $281.12 worth of items from a Walmart in December 2019; and $32.64 worth of items from a CVS in November 2019. ___________

The Best Song on I'll Try Living Like This

In May of 2015, the now legendary & iconic vaporwave trio known as death's dynamic shroud put out what would be the 12th album in their now 50+ discography of full-length records, this one on the then-prestigious Dream Catalogue label: I'll Try Living Like This, produced solely by two of its members James Webster (known as HCMJ) and Keith Rankin (known as Giant Claw). The album was produced in the midst of awaiting cassette production for what would end up being their 13th album in 2016 on Rankin's Orange Milk Records label, produced by the remaining member Tech Honors: CLASSROOM SEXXTAPE.

From the moment it came out to this very day and beyond, I'll Try Living Like This remains to be seen as death's dynamic shroud's revolutionary, genre-redefining magnum opus and it stands as one of vaporwave's most creative & experimental records to achieve this level of notoriety. There's a lot to be said about each individual track and how it pushes the boundaries of a genre so many people neglectfully view as reductive & derivative. But one tracks I want to particularly highlight is one that isn't often seen as the emotional high point that it is early on into the record.

The fourth track into the record in a short streak of amazing tunes kicks off with two samples: The introductory vocal humming of Avant from his song Separated and the stretched out instrumental to AOA's Miniskirt providing the beat & chords, provided more density & reverberation added to the beat. Beyond that, you hear a whole lot going on. There's a specific recurring vocal sample that gets chopped up & glitchy throughout the song, I can't confidently tell you where that's from, it could be from Separated again for all I could tell. Above that, you hear dialogue from CSI: NY spliced in, coming from Kim Kardashian of all people, some shimmering sounds coming from the intro to Fleetwood Mac's classic song Everywhere and later on, some lesser edited samples of the Legend of Zelda Sound & Drama, which I'll touch on in a moment.

It's an incredibly dense track, but more important than what it samples it how it feels to sample these things. The Miniskirt beat, once an upbeat, sharply produced k-pop track, is paulstretched & echoed out to feel much more lethargic but equally intoxicating. I think even without the added elements, the backing track is absolutely thick & heavy. It's like walking through the city on a packed night and just slowly dragging yourself through an extremely concentrated atmosphere, an opaque fog of urban smoke & emotional weight, and it wouldn't feel that way if it didn't sound so… melancholic.

There's a sadness permeating throughout the song. The strange CSI: NY dialogue, the dragged out & buffering vocal glitches, the lonely Avant vocalizing, there's something about all of those elements, combined with the once sensual love song beat profusely slowed down, that makes the whole experience feel so depressive, like an alcoholic bender. After two and a half minutes of this, you're given even more hints to what all of this is. A Japanese dialogue sample from the aforementioned Zelda Sound Drama plays and it of course reads like a piece of Zelda drama… but one sentence sticks out:

A little further in, the shimmering of the Everywhere sample strips away. For a moment, it feels less crowded, but still… sad. Shortly before the four minute mark, Link's cry for Zelda is heard, the beat disappears for that moment and when it cuts back in, you hear something swelling in the background. You feel an emotional tension starting to rise. Then Avant sings.

This is a breakup song. More than anything else, it's a tragic, bittersweet, heart-wrenching breakup song. The added bass synths to the beat and orchestral strings climbing further up in the background for as long as those lines are sung; it feels like the rest of the track that came before was trying to suppress its deeply sorrowing emotions before all that resistance just shatters and every ounce of grief just spills out into tears falling into the puddles of rain below. The song concludes from there and it overall changes the dynamic depths of this album's extremely abtract concepts that are as hard to define, pinpoint or deciphir as this one is, if not more so.

This wasn't my favourite song for the longest time. I mean, for a long while, it was 그대 기억에 지쳐 잠들죠, but that's more of an interlude piece that directly transitions into a reprise of this song, funnily enough, that further elaborates on that Miniskirt sample with a bit of an eccojam. But other times, it was Loving is Easy or everybody's favourite 내 마음은 떨고. It was hard to define what really makes I'll Try Living Like This's best song. Sure, the latter had probably the best production of the bunch and the most energy for it, but an emotional pique or a definitive highly was hard to come by in an album that was always so consistent but always in some way relied on its surrounding pieces or the overall album package. 혼자 남은 지금 꼴이, however, completely stands on its own. As its own song and its own emotional piece.

I think it goes ultimately unrecognised in the grand scheme of this album because of how subtle it all is. Everything I just described to you about the song is subtle in their respective degrees. You really don't come to notice its value at the face; you find it out by digesting it further & more thoroughly, giving each listen its own time to clue you in to what it's about and what it's doing here on the album. It ultimately comes across as the most rewarding song on what is considered to this day to be death's dynamic shroud's masterpiece.

One that is immeditely ruined by the vocal samples on 이보다 좋을 수는 없겠어, but believe me, we do not want to have that conversation today.

Let me go over what this new trailer revealed.

• SEES no longer have the classic Armbands. They have these Shoulder guards now when on combat. The armbands still exist however.

• New battle theme titled "It's Going Down Now!". Mass Destruction is still in the game, but it's been freshly re-recorded.

• The party has AOA finishers like the Phantom Theives, don't worry it's a lot more subdued. We've only seen Makoto's so far which simply gives us the phrase "Done and Dusted".

• We finally get to see Ken, Shinji and Koromaru! Ken and Shinji's VAs sound great, though definitely a lot different than what you might be used to from the original games.

• The game has DLC confirmed, so far they have a P4 Music Pack. And different pre-order levels. The games $70 however, if you want the biggest thing, you hypothetically are spending $200 US.

•unsure about a product? literally just type in “(product name) reddit” on google and you’ll find people sharing their true opinions. when you go on the sephora site and check reviews, a lot of them will say “received free product” and people tend to not be honest when getting free things. also join the sephora and ulta sub reddits to stay updated on all the promos, gifts with purchase, etc!

•you’ve probably saw me talk about them on my blog a hundred times but SHOP MISS A i’m telling you truly is a great website. i get so many makeup and skincare essentials from there it’s unreal. so good for my budget baddies! when shopping from there though i recommend sticking to their in house brand AOA Studio and their charity lines such as A+ and PawPaw. I use their AOASkin cleanser and it’s so amazing at removing makeup but it doesn’t strip your skin at all. i love their squalane moisturizer and their gel one in the green pack.

•always keep a mental note of your drugstore ride or dies. i know that high end brands products and sephora sprees are really trendy right now but don’t forget your roots! you always want to have cheap products you know you can rely on, regardless of who you are. what happens when you run out of your $40 foundation and it’s not payday yet, but you need to do a full beat? idk ab u but i know wet n wild is gonna come in clutch for me

• DO NOT buy the elf putty bronzer. so random, but that product is so hyped up on tiktok for no reason. the product gets hard quick and it’s patchy to blend despite how much working around i did to try and make it work.

•DO buy the elf satin foundation and the contour wands 😮‍💨especially if you are looking for a good drugstore contour, just buy it. it’s a new holy grail for me that i’ll definitely be repurchasing. it blends so good, has a smooth texture, and $9. my only tip would be to take the sponge applicator off, i squeezed out 3 uses worth of product from it after the FIRST time i ever used it.

•if you have facebook, depending on a couple factors you can get free sample ads to pop up. it’s very legit, i’ve received sample BOXES from macys and bloomingdale’s. i just got my bloomingdale’s box and it came with a mini valentino lipstick and many perfume samples! it does take time and patience, you won’t get one right away.

do: have ad tracking turned on and join the “freebie hunters” group. when somebody posts their screenshot of a sample they got, go google the product, search on the internet like you have actual interest in it. it’s a lot of watching and waiting, but i’ve received literally dozens of things from these little ads. basically all i do is google makeup and perfume and hope i get them on my feed. joining that group keeps you up to date on what to look out for. i’m sure you can google it and there will be something else explaining it better than i can if i don’t make sense😅

I made a small, rocky, tropical island as a test for a new asset pack (AoA's Clouds and Water). Maybe this island is just off the coastline, or maybe its surrounded by ocean in all directions. This could be an ideal location for a buried treasure, a stopover for supplies in a nautical campaign, or a place for a DM to maroon some adventurers. The night version comes with a minimal campsite for a lonely shipwreck survivor.

concerning Nika...

i'm kinda leaning towards there being 6-8 years between them and Alexi and Misha instead of the 13-17 i was originally thinking, because those two would totally and completely play "loose the baby" as annoying 13 year olds to them being a naïve 5 year old

but ignoring that, the other thoughts about Nika; idk if it's only Nika now...

it's kind of funny, but also makes sense, that the longer Victor has a stable relationship, the smoother his pregnancies would go. he's happy, healthy, and safe and secure, so of course each subsequent pregnancy would be better; heck the heat management is even easier because when you have a steady mate and constant access to proper contraceptives, you don't ignore your body's needs until it pops and forces you into things.

Arkady came in halfway through the pregnancy with Alexei, but after he did things did get better. before Vic barely was showing, but after he started to relax and show. and yeah he didn't make it full term, but Alexi still miraculously survived birth after all, which was a very big differance to most of Vic's previous pregnancies.

then with Misha, Vic was very obviously pregnant from the start; he got so big they did wonder if there were multiples after all ^^; but Misha made it full term and there was no doubt that they had a happy healthy baby.

so logic would suggest that of course, despite it being many years later, Nika would also be a very successful pregnancy. but...what if there was multiples this time? Nika is not a feral, but Vic still is, and with such a positive environmental setting, multiples makes sense. and if both babies are more Rossivich than Creed, do we do the "fire and ice" thing with their energy absorption? do we say it was twins, but due to things, Nika ends up as a chimera having absorbed their twin. does Nika end up with the "fire and ice" themself? was the twin actually a feral, so Nika DOES have some feral traits, but isn't an Alpha/Omega (mainly it's the reaction to pheromones that defines that i guess, equipment not withstanding). are they identical twins (fire/ice still can apply because X-genes express weird), or fraternal (fire/ice or non-/feral options there). i still want Nika to end up transfem, so identical twins would do the Phil/Lil thing...and i still do like the name Sasha...BUT twins also removes some of the silly older brothers things, because Nika would have a playmate built in. i do not want it to be known multiples but only having Nika survive, because again i like the idea that Victor being stable with a proper family pack means safe pregnancies for him after all the years of issues he had about that.

i suppose the easiest solution would be in Nika is born when the boys are younger, they should be a solo baby; if the boys are the young adults i usually do with my MC2 stuff, then Nika could be a twin.

also yes i'm sticking with Nikita/Nika because it's got "victor" as it's root, so Vic does indeed get to name a baby after himself just like his momma (Belle chose her own middle name lol)

(oh, and seeing as Alexi and Misha have actual comic counterparts i took cues from, Nika does too; i'm using AoA Beta Red as a jumping off point for them)
