Pachypodium ambongense is a succulent from the humid forest in Andringitra National Park of south-central Madagascar. It is distinguished by the large spiny thorns on the trunk and branches. The trunk grows to about 3 feet tall, with branches growing horizontally off the trunk. The leaves are narrow, stiff, and pointed at both ends.

Pachypodium ambongense, often referred to as the red bottle tree, is a tree-like succulent in the family Apocynaceae. It has long spines and a few white star-shaped flowers. Pachypodium namaquanum/ 光堂 Motif : @tsuu214 English follows ⬇️⬇️ まだ自分では栽培未経験のパキポディウム・ナマクアナム（光堂）。パキポは見る人が見れば株の姿形で大体見分けられるけど、ナマクアナムは中でも特に特徴的な形をしてるので分かりやすい品種の一つですよね。 モデルは私を冬型塊根沼に引きずり込んでくれた @tsuu214 さんの株。冬型だけじゃなくてパキポも沢山お持ちなのでモデルにお借りしました。 パキポディウムポ���ターの一員に加えさせて頂きます！！ For me, this Pachypodium namaquanum is a bit hesitate to grow it because of it’s difficulty. This form is really unique and quite easy to tell the difference from the other Pachypodiums. It’s still half way to make Pachypodium poster but definitely this namaquanum is in!! Unfortunately I don’t have enough Pachypodium motifs especially “with flower” one. I’m gonna paint geayi, saundersii, succulentum, bispinosum, ambongense, windsorii, makayense, brevicaule….. and so on.
