I'm no longer a Linux Mint user, I moved upstream to Debian, the distro Mint is based on. Now Debian was part of Linux's forbidding reputation of being difficult to install and use for non-tech-savvy users. Now this wasn't entirely unearned, as this video of trying to install a 1999 boxed edition of Debian demonstrates. Part of this was Debian's commitment to free software, so they didn't include proprietary drivers for hardware in the install, so you had to figure out how to get your wi-fi card to work on your own if you installed Debian on your laptop for example. They are actually one of the distros that call it "GNU/Linux"
The point of both Ubuntu and Mint back in the 00s was to take what Debian did well, but make it more user-friendly. And it worked, Ubuntu nowadays has declined with the Snap pacakage format, but it did do a lot for making desktop Linux user-friendly and more viable (Mint today is essentially what Ubuntu was pre-snap). Debian remains one of the biggest server OS out there, but on desktop Ubuntu by all accounts became way more popular.
However Debian has learned over the years and the latest release from June 2023, Debian 12 "Bookworm" is a massive improvement in user-friendliness. The install process is easy. There is both a slightly more complicated "net-installer" with all ISOs, and a simplified Calameres installer included with live systems that can be run off usbs to test things out. And even the net-installer is quite a simple process that is good at explaining what it does, and having sane defaults it encourages you to pick if you are unsure. This video about Debian 12 is a good counterpoint to the Debian 2.1 video linked above.
It did involve being more pragmatic about their approach to free software and including non-free firmware, so things like wi-fi now work without any problems for the end-user. Now I'm against proprietary software and hardware manufactures should have open source drivers for their shit, but I can't argue with how my laptop's wi-fi and bluetooth worked entirely without hassle.
Now Debian still requires more of the user than Mint does, like you have to figure out how to enable flatpak support and I did have to go into the terminal to install all the packages I wanted. That was a leesser part of the experience with Mint, I only had to do that to install 32bit libraries for my retro games and speciailized things like that.
(And you do want flatpak, the one thing you need to know it's a form of software package that works on basically all Linux distros, so a lot of developers package their programs as flatpaks instead of creating multiple versions for for all the various Linux file systems. So you get a lot of variety in software, and there are other positives as well)
I was happy for having a few months of training in how Linux works from Mint, it taught me how packages work. why flatpaks are useful (they are included by default in Mint and its package manager), how to use the terminal and other useful stuff. So if you are completely new to Linux, Mint is still the distro I recommend. I recently installed Mint on the computer of a 70-year old friend of mine, not Debian for a reason.
Still, It's nice to be at the distro that is the source rather than two steps downstream. Having to set up my Debian, instead of all the things the Ubuntu and Mint devs have added on top (even if what the Mint team adds does make for a smoother out-of-the-box experience). Again I'm not that technically proficient, but I find some enjoyment in tinkering. So setting up things like flatpak in Debian was a fun little challenge for me to do, made quite safe and easy by all the guides there are for such things.
I'm probably going to stick with Debian stable. I like long-term support distro way of doing updates, where you get important security updates, but other updates are released only after being tested for bugs. This ensures sytem stability. The other way is rolling release, where updates are constant. Package updates are released as soon as they are available, which might lead to bugs and other forms of system instability.
LTS does mean you won't get flashy new features for awhile, but I'm usually quite happy with the way I currently use my programs, my current workflow. Despite being a transgendered ultra-leftist, I'm creature of routine and habit (it's the autism), so LTS distros fit me quite well. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. So i'm probably not going to use arch btw, not because I'm afraid of not figuring it out, it might even be a fun challenge, but because I don't care about rolling release cycles.
And Debian is the best of LTS distros, the one most off them are based on. Also Debian is for lesbians.

CBD products are significant articles and look engaging while they are on display. Their engaging presentations are a fundamental element that can pull in the attention of potential customers. CBD tincture packaging boxes are remarkably made by the specific need of the CBD item that will be packaged inside them. Their designs have different attributes that help them to improve CBD product visuals. Their shapes and sizes are exceptionally delivered by the particular designs of a CBD item that will be packaged inside them. Their characteristics can moreover be improved by using different kinds of supplements like froth, cardboard, shaped mash, etc.

- bakugo w a s/o who isnt the best chef but the best PASTRY chef (lol does that even makes sense) and his s/o always leaves him pastries and treats in his locker or something like that and always calling him over to try out new recipes and he wont admit it but LOVES IT IDK I THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE BED AND JUST REMEMBERED
Bakugou Katsuki
Bakugou sometimes would stay in the kitchen with you, sitting on one of the barstools watching you do your thing.
He’s also there to ensure that you don’t lick the raw batter for the umpteenth time. It was a real habit of yours which he’s noticed.
“Stop dipping your finger in the batter,” he’d scold as he swats your hand away from the bowl, “it’s almost like you want to get salmonella.”
Despite having a preference for spicy foods, Bakugou isn’t against the idea of trying some of the things you bake.
If anyone were to walk in on the scene of you spoon feeding Bakugou one of your pastries, they’ll never hear the end of it from him.
He’d yell things like: “It isn’t what it looks like!” or “Why are you even here?” and it comes out rushed and incoherent.
Bakugou’s questions then turn into a narrative where he blames the person and says how it’s their fault for not knowing you two were in the kitchen already.
His pride will never let him take the fall~
Sometimes when you’re eating one of the pastries you made for yourself around Katsuki, he’ll ask for a bite. A bite.
So of course, you’ll give him one!
But then he’ll proceed to the the biggest fucking mouthful of your food as if he were a starved man.
Leaving only what’s left at your fingertips for you. Which wasn’t much.
“Katsuki... you’re kidding...” You say, all while he’s brushing the crumbs off the corners of his lips like he did no wrong.
In a childish manner, you ignored him for a solid hour after that.
He thinks your baking was just that good.
If you were to put something in his locker, he doesn’t even wait until lunch to eat the baked treat. He’ll eat it where he stands, thank you very much.
Bakugou would munch on it slowly while he shoos away the grabby hands his friends make once they see what he’s eating.
Or most times he’ll just shove the whole thing in his mouth if he’s running to class. Either or works for him.
bonus:
On special events like Valentine’s Day or his birthday, Bakugou will always prefer your baking as little presents rather than store bought ones.
There was one year where you didn’t have enough time to bake him treats for Valentine’s Day so you settled for pacakaged cookies instead.
Don’t get him wrong! He was appreciative but...
“Hard cookies?” He flipped over the box and read its contents. “Jesus, and they didn’t even use the right toppings. Who eats raisins?”
To say that he was looking foreword to eating something made by you would be an understatement.
You’ve never seen him judge something so HARD before. You knew he was picky with most things, but this was new.
He definitely was a little pouty/sulking a bit throughout the day.

~$5 and Under Gift Ideas (And Places To Find Them)
Since Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Yule and Christmas are coming up, here’s some inspo for small, cheap gifts that are still fun to receive for things like Secret Snowflake/Santa, stocking stuffers, little add-ons, etc. — Feel free to reblog and add your own ideas!!:)
(Some good places to *find* these kinds of things are also listed under the cut)
Storebought Gifts
- Lil pins or iron-on patches
- Scented candle(s)

- Snacks (Their fav chips, a funky bottled drink, etc.)
- Cute stickers:•)
- Lil $5 gift card from their favorite cafe
- Jewelry
- Lip balm (normal, unique, 2-pack, fancy, whatever)
- Bath bomb
- Bath salts
- Bottle(s) of essential oil
- Scarf
- Cool book from a Little Free Library
- Nail polish in a unique color, a color you think would suit them, their favorite color, or a color you think would work well with their fashion sense

- Poster or print
- Little storage containers/organizational things
- Pretty soap
- Pretty tube of hand lotion
- Goofy lil prank/gag gift (yknow like the kind the sell in those little niche gift stores? that like always seem to have yellow cardboard pacakaging for some reason? yknow where its like. candy that tastes like soap or little fake gum packets that zap ya. you should probably be fairly close to someone if u wanna give them something like this tho) (mostly including this on here in honor of my dad’s family tradition of exchanging gag gifts during hannukah. ex: my goofy great grandfather giving my very prim and proper great grandmother a ‘gas-powered’ electric tooth brush) (...and ya ‘gas’ as in ‘gastrointestinal’) (............like it had like a vacuum tube coming out the bottom to ‘attach’ to the ‘power source’ and everything lmao)
- An affordable/cheap lipstick, highlighter, palette, gloss
- Cool temporary tattoos
- Cool old postcards to decorate their walls with (or actually send lol)
- Bandana, scrunchies, barrettes, headband, or other hair accessories
- Pretty, mini notebook or journal
- Stationery/Art supplies (Gel pens, rubber stamp/s, ink pad, stencils, a cute Japanese eraser, etc.)
- A box/tin of their favorite tea🍵
General Good Places To Find Some Nice Cheap Stuff
(I live in the Midwest of the US, so obviously this is by no means an exhaustive list, just what I have experience with. Again, feel free to add on!)
- Target: This time of year Target’s “Wonder Shop” brand usually has displays scattered around the store with items corresponding to the area they’re in, as well as a main hub in their seasonal section. Most of these items are designed to be cheap and stocking stuffer-like, which is just what we’re going for here: Depending on where you are in the store they feature things like cheap makeup, fuzzy slippers, candles, throw blankets, bath bombs, stationery, little kitchen gadgets or fancy seasoning sets, etc. The main hub usually has tons of regular candy as well as novelty treats like giant marshmallows, drinking straws made of candy cane, etc. They also have a (predictably) very small selection of Hannukah things:/ Year round, Target’s Dollar Section is awesome in general, lots of fun little decor things or craft supplies. Sometimes they also have cheap tech supplies there (extension cords, portable chargers, knock-off popsockets, headphones, even speakers) depending on the time of year. Their jewelry is relatively inexpensive for the most part, and their brand Wild Fable has a lot of really cute jewelry and hair accessories for pretty cheap ($5-15). In general, they are great for: Snacks, candy, candles, (some) craft supplies, jewelry, cosmetics, travel-size versions of beauty products, jewelry, socks, and even cheap DVDS (the ones they have at the front of checkout booths).
- T.J. Maxx/Marshall’s/Home Goods: Always have fun cheap stuff in the checkout aisle to try to lure you into last minute purchases (but again, that’s the kinda cheap stuff we’re going for here), especially snacks. Sometimes they have nice cheap stationery, depending on the store. Candles, super marked-down beauty products, home decor.
- The Container Store: A little more on the expensive side in general and can be harder to find but if you can get to one they often have tons of cool, relatively cheap gadgets (like cord sorters, little phone accessories like a USB minifan, etc.) and organizational supplies. A lot of their stationery is more regular-priced to expensive, but they can have some nice little things if you dig. One thing I really love is their Amac Boxes, these pretty little lucite boxes in a bunch of different sizes and colors that are great as little storage/organizational things and double as something you can actually put other gifts in. They only cost between ¢0.69-$1.09 each! (They also have tons of cheap cardboard ones as well as little tins too if you’d prefer not to buy plastic.) Again, the little checkout area is FULL of cool little gadgets and stationery supplies, and some of them are really cheap! (Side Note: They also sell a lot of those quirky Kikkerland-type novelty gifts if you like those kinds of things, although they’re typically on the more expensive side)
- Michael’s: GOD TIER. Mostly for crafty friends but you can get some non-crafty things there too (or just things that would appeal to pretty much anyone). They sell some candy in the front checkout area. Cheap things: Embroidery thread, yarn, stickers, candles, some home decor, some jewelry, washi tape, some little starter-kit type things, stationery.
- Jo-Ann Fabrics: ALSO GOD TIER. If you’ve never been, they actually sell a TON of crafty stuff besides fabric arts. They sell iron-on patches, candles, art supplies and stationery, some home decor, embroidery thread and yarn (obviously), some little cheap starter kit-type things, and some cool books and magazines. Stuff can be on the more regular-priced to expensive side on average, but you can absolutely find things for under 5-6 bucks.
- Half-Price Books: So good! Obviously reduced-price books, but often also other miscellaneous little things and some stationery. Definitely depends on the store, but would recommend.
- Goodwill: This one’s pretty obvious, but if you’ve genuinely never shopped there, besides clothes, often they have really good kitchen supplies and home decor for very cheap. Usually tends not to be super ~hip~ (although sometimes you luck out!), but often works great if you’re shopping for a friend with a kitsch or vintage ~aesthetic~. (I’ve gotten some of my favorite decor items there: An awesome antique-looking bookend with a spinning globe, a cool old Pierrot/Venetian clown doll, several antique books, and a pretty wire birdcage, all for super cheap!!) And then, obviously, you can also dig around for cheap cool shirts and dresses, and often can find rad things for as low as $5.
- Dollar Tree: I’ve noticed that Dollar Trees tend to differ vastly, but usually they tend to have some surprisingly awesome things. At various Dollar Trees, I have found: Candles, incense, lipgloss, nail polish, loose pigments (usually gold, silver, purple and pink), pretty vases, pretty or plain little notebooks, fun washi tape, various home decor things, pretty ribbon, small funky kitchen gadgets, hair accessories, wrapping paper, bubble mailers, gift tags and labels, stickers, flash tattoos, and snacks.
- CVS Pharmacy or Walgreens: Super useful. Cute little home decor things, candy, snacks, cheap (ish) makeup and nail polish.
- Papersource: A little more on the expensive side (think Kikkerland stuff again) but you can find some cheap stuff! Again, the small checkout booth items are often great. The Papersource near my house also sells various versions of these gorgeous posters by Cavallini for about $5. They sell lots of fun washi tape too, for relatively cheap. Their stationery tends to be a little more regularly-priced to expensive, though.
Best of luck! Happy Holidays<3

send me 🎁 to find out what my muse would get yours for christmas [Accepting]
Crowley would show up at Bobby’s place with a solid wooden box that held a well crafted hunting knife inside. “Merry Christmas, you miserable bastard.” he said with a grin. “And if that comment offends you, then you’ll really like what I got you. I’ll even let you use it on me, given it’s Christmas. Just watch the suit.” With that, he screwed his eyes shut and spread his arms wide.
Meanwhile, two packages had been sent to the Winchesters’ current residence. One for Dean and one for Sam. “Merry Christmas, boys,” the note said. “Something to keep you warm during the holidays. Feel free to thank my Queen for the idea, too. Love, C. Kisses.” Inside the pacakages were a Squirrel Onesie for Dean and a Moose onesie for Sam. Crowley was more than happy to accept the consequences of his ‘gifts’, too. It would be worth it.

"Heal within, be love, invoke the light" is the mission behind The brand Ritual, they are a beauty and lifestyle brand that offers a an extensive range of products based on high vibrational rituals and vibes to cleanse, heal and enlighten the mind, body and soul. Some of Rituals Products include High Vibrational Smudges, Ritual Kits, Crystals, Potions and Herbal Incenses. The three Ritual Boxes contain a variety of products ,for example the Love Ritual Kit features eight different full size samples including incense, a bath soak, tarot cards and candles, designed to cast a positive spell across your entire home. There is also a line of additional beauty products, that includea jade facial roller, a perfume elixir, a toner mist, a detox mask and different bath soaks. All products are wrapped individually and beautifully in a ritualistic ceremony and blessed with energy, promising positive fortune and vibrations.
I chose this brand as a primary reference as I admire the branding, advertisement and promotion for this company. I personally enjoy how the packaging follows a general flow throughout, making the pacakaging and products fit together like a set or family. This skill is something I wish to take with me for my own final outcome, with my brand maintaining a general visual asthetic consistency.
