Funny enough, the Dub version of Joker draws a bit from the Yu Narukami and the P4A Dub. I am not joking when I say that Yu Narukami is CANONICALLY the guy who chooses every single Third Dialogue Option. And most of his delivery is pretty deadpan. (One character in a canon spin-off outright refers to Yu Narukami as a Space Case.) Thr best way I can describe it is that Yu Narukami is an Autistic Chad. (And I do mean Autistic in the sense that he's at least vaguely Autistic-coded.)
GOD THE THIRD DIALOGUE OPTION IS ALWAYS THE MOST VALID and i’m so glad to hear the yu was like that in the dub. i’ve seen so many people say his character was really great in the anime and it’s made me interested in watching (despite p4 being my least favorite of the modern persona series). to hear that he could read as autistic too sounds so cool to me like now you got me all 👀 bc i could really see that hc working into my interpretation of his character. BUT YEA...i still haven’t watched the p5 anime dub. it’s just. so hard bc the quality makes me so sad but i do love the en cast and if ren has more of a deadpan delivery, i think i could learn to enjoy it. i just gotta make myself sit down and do it!!

I don’t know
My emotions are opaque to me to an extent, that’s not surprising, I think everyone feels that way in some sense.
I just...I suppose I had forgotten how distressing I found Ryuji’s situation in the main game of P5 because for a long time when I thought of P5 all I’ve been thinking of is P5D and PQ2 and both do just treat him better. Even P5A did treat him better, removing any insinuation his closest friends would ever actually physically hurt him.
But as I’ve taken part in following people’s progress through Persona 5 The Royal, listened for leaks, kept my attention on it, followed it step-by-step...I find I once more just realized how very sad I find it.
I’m glad for fans of Akechi and Akechi/Ren because this game clearly decided they deserved a wealth of content, and that’s honestly good for them, they should enjoy it. Same for fans of Kasumi.
As someone who likes Ryuji though...I don’t know if P5R even adds a single new piece of content of anyone being nice to Ryuji for a change. Which means that, sadly, the negative is what stands out to me because, well, none of the PTs are treated as poorly by the rest as Ryuji is. Akechi is the only one comparable and he does actively try to murder them so it’s understandable, but even then, Akechi does at least get a wealth of new bonding content with Akira/Ren to somewhat offset this.
Ryuji seems to get nothing but what he’s always had; he’s a joke, a loser, the butt of every joke and the friend singled out for derision and scorn.
Part of me wishes I’d never invested in Persona 5 as a fandom or Ryuji as a character. I like him, I really do, I draw enormous pleasure from my investment in him but, at the same time, my crushing awareness that this investment will likely never pay off in canon and, indeed, as time goes on in canon he will probably only accumulate more and more incidents in which his friends scorn and hurt him makes me fear it.
I just feel bad and don’t know. I just...wish something nice could happen to Ryuji for a change. That’s really as simple as it is. I just...wish there’d be a moment, in canon, of one of the Phantom Thieves, his friends, just honestly being nice, kind and friendly to him, tell him he’s not a useless idiot and that they appreciate him.
I just know it’ll never happen.
Having seen now past Christmas and seen the big twist (it honestly is exactly what you think it is) I feel pretty confident in saying there is no substantial or nice content for Ryuji added on at all in the game so I do not intend to get it. Again this is not a critique of the game, I’m sure it’s an improvement over the original, if anything maybe this is my realization just that if I could do things over I just would never have bought the game in the first place.

Making a P5A post just to focus on the positive aspects of the anime. We all know the negatives, but I want to give credit where credit is due and talk about the good things the anime does.

what's wrong with P5A's characterization? (admittedly I haven't been watching it but I thought you liked it o3o;; )
This is mostly aimed at Anne and Ryuji tbh. Ren…..I like his name, as of the later chapters in the manga I think I might Akira’s personality more….mostly cause he really is a newbie goofball and 100% not like what the fandom considers the MC to be like. It’s kinda refreshing (of course the art doesn’t help but I can slowly see some funny quirks).
This all mostly happens in the first 3 episodes, and tbh sours the first dungeon for me.
Anyway from least irritating to most (there’s 4 things but technically the first two are in the same scene so maybe there’s only 3), Ryuji I think is the worst part but Anne’s is so confusing tho she does actually get railroaded back to her game counterpart the early episodes really screw her character over (anyway basically they have some….OOC moments….big ones….important ones). Sorry it’s not SUPER in depth, maybe later I can go frame by frame between the game, anime, and manga.
Anyway under the cut because in this essay I will be (btw sorry if it’s all over the place)….
Let’s start with the weirdest one….when you first meet her, ok well…the first first one is just a minor one the thing RIGHT AFTER is the weirdest one. Ok so there’s more going on in the anime/game than the manga, but the anime unlike the game has dialogue. That’s fine….thing is…..the manga might do….a better job with capturing Anne’s character than the anime did. I mean it’s less shippy (but we get new shippy scenes later I’ll get to that). I mean let’s look at her reaction to the MC staring at her:
Game:
Tumblr media
Manga:
Tumblr media
Anime:
Tumblr media
What’s the difference?
The smile. Doesn’t Anne look friendlier in the Game/Manga? Isn’t your first impression….”huh she seems nice!” I think the anime tried to give her more of an action like “actions speak louder than words” kinda thing, with her taking the petal off of the MC’s head. “See? Isn’t she nice? She helped remove the thing he couldn’t see!” And, I get what they are trying to do there, but she still comes off as coldish. I said a second ago they wanted to give her an action, but the thing is…..smiling is already an action! A very simple one! She’s already showing she’s friendly by giving him a greeting smile (or just a polite one). Also the way it’s presented, the manga and game give off a warmer atmosphere than the anime. The game’s colors are soft and bright and welcoming (and she’s drawn in a softish way), the anime it’s darker and dreary. The manga, even tho it’s black and white and has a plain ass background, Anne is drawn in such a soft way, it’s even shaded a little to give off her being illuminated (like notice the lower corners where it’s darker, the way it’s shaded the light is drawn to her fact brightening out her smile).
Like we got all we needed to know from our first meeting in both the game/manga, she’s friendly. Maybe the anime wanted to amplify her cold exterior to make the “oh she’s really friendly underneath” hiddens side of her a reveal…..but….the thing is….THEY DIDN’T DO THAT! They set it up with no pay off, like it would’ve been different and I can’t knock them for that, but now it’s just different FOR NO REASON! Like the game/manga show she’s friendly, and later we see her colder wall she puts up all while hearing rumors and putting the pieces together as to WHY she has a cold wall, all while knowing she’s friendlier than she appears. And if the anime wanted to do something different that’s fine but it didn’t follow through so it’s an issue for me.
Anyway, again, it’s minor, it still bugs me tho. Moving on to….when we first meet Kamoshida in the car. And this one is weird. Let’s compare Anne again.
Game:
Tumblr media
Manga:
Tumblr media
Anime:
Tumblr media
What’s the difference?
It’s the way they look, the way the lines are delivered, the dialogue, the way she moves. I mean one thing to keep in mind is they want to have her smile so they can cut away to her looking unhappy and have you thing “hmmmmm something is up.”
Game!Anne, her smile is mandatory polite (smile cause it’s the right thing to do, she probably also did this in mind with the MC too but hey she had the music with him and not Kamo 8V basically what I’m trying to say a person who is uber cold wouldn’t politely smile and at the same time just cause they smile doesn’t mean they are happy). Her dialogue is also a bit….apprehensive, and just mandatory polite as well. It’s what I would say if I didn’t want to get in the car with someone but also had no reason to say no. Anyway the cut to her looking upset shows us her real emotions.
Manga!Anne however really doesn’t look pleased, I mean you could totally read it as “relief,” possibly due to not being trapped in the rain. Same as the game, it cuts away to her not looking happy (and actually amplifies it some more in the manga with Kamoshida talking to her).
Anime!Anne. Unlike the other two, she had yet to show a smile, unlike the other two who came off as polite with no wall, Anime!Anne does not have that frame of reference. Instead it’s a juxtaposition. She had a bit of a wall but then as soon as Kamo showed up, she bursted out into this big smile. Her words are a bit more eager, it looks like she practically runs to the car (while she just casually walks to it in the other versions). She seems happy. Sure maybe it’s cause she doesn’t need to be in the rain. But again, this is the first time we’ve seen her smile. Then it cuts away to her not looking happy. It’s…..it’s some whiplash man. I think it’s cause they wanted us to buy into thinking Anne is Kamo’s girl by choice….. I mean later in ep 2 Kamo shows jealousy over the fact the MC was with Anne alone. But the thing is….this misdirection makes no sense, they don’t spend nor have the time to slow things down to make us wonder. The whole plot point is useless because it’s dropped very fast considering her later reactions in ep 2.
Side minor nitpick before moving on. I don’t like the way they introduce Ryuji. The Game/Manga have him running after Kamo’s car, well after Kamo has driven away (not aware of Ryu even approaching). The anime has Ryujis slowly approaching the car and Kamo takes notice and has him drive off. I dunno it feels weird, Ryu would totally run after that car and Kamo wouldn’t really give a shit about Ryu approaching. Minor but a bit annoying, this change wasn’t needed.
Now onto…..my biggest problems with how they handled Anne, it’s this scene, this fudging scene right here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This did not happen in the game. This did not happen in Spain. This did not happen in the Game writer’s brain. It did not happen here Nor there. It did not happen anywhere. It did not happen in the manga. It did not happen under Obama. It did not happen in a conga. It did not happen here nor there. It did not happen anywhere. SO WHY THE FUDGE IS IT HAPPENING HERE?????
First off half of this convo is taking place a day early, they are talking about Shiho’s volleyball problems which is suppose to take place the next day on the bench:
Tumblr media
OH THE BENCH SCENE STILL TAKES PLACE! But they change the first half of the dialogue to reflect the optional dialogue you can hear when talking to the volleyball team, WHICH INSTEAD HAPPENS A DAY PRIOR TO THE BENCH DAY:
Tumblr media
(let’s play I was using didn’t have them talk to Anne/Shiho but there’s the location/date, it’s about the same dialogue, talking about how BS the rumors are about the MC).
But like what purpose does the corridor thing hold??? Cause when I first saw it I thought they were moving the bench scene. But obviously that didn’t happen. So why include it? Then I realized it was suppose to replace this scene:
Tumblr media
The scene they are reinterpreting is happening a day later in the anime (4/13), with the bench scene still taking place (4/14) in the anime, but it moves the optional scene from the game (4/13, mentioned above) to 4/14 as well. They also removed Anne telling them to be careful about asking questions (4/13 in the game) to 4/14 when the bench scene is taking place. Giving Anne a more aggressive/protective role over Shiho, rather than going out of her way to warn them where it doesn’t involve Shiho at all (the manga did something similar to he anime). Now before we got back to the corridor and why it’s just SO FREAKING BAD, the reason why I don’t like Anne telling off the guys in the anime/manga is because it makes her ignorant. It brings about her now being aware of Kamo’s bad traits and the rumors to full force. The game she just knows they are going around and trying to dig up dirt about Kamo and considering what happen to Ryuji a year prior, she’s like “Guys she’s a teacher you aren’t going to win.” Coupled with the fact she’s kept in the dark about what they are investigating, as opposed to the anime (the manga she’s still in the dark, but it’s still a negative because she didn’t approach them herself to warn them they are getting into deep shit, you know cause she actually cares).
Moving the confrontation also hurts the anime. In the game, it’s before Shiho gets bruised (or at least before Anne can see Shiho to see she’s bruised). The manga it happens right after Shiho mentions spraining her wrist but it’s def played off more convincingly that it was just a normal practice that did that. She does seem to attempt to tell Anne the truth, but Anne misreads what she was trying to say and assumed it was how she felt inadequate about her spot on the team (which they were also just discussing earlier). And….it works out fine, sure Anne loses some of her caring points from the game (so only real issue with that) but she’s in the dark about the truth so that’s good (from a story stand point that is). But why is it bad in the anime? It’s because…..she hears something is up with the volleyball club, and doesn’t believe Ryu/Ren LITERALLY AFTER LOOKING AT SHIHO’S INJURIES. ANNE IS NOT THIS DUMB (and no her CoOp doesn’t cout that is filled with OOC messes too). Outside her CoOp, Anne is characterized as being able to pick up on people’s emotions. She can read people pretty well (when the writers don’t depower that ability cause they suck). She would’ve figured it out right then and there.
Anyway what’s wrong with the corridor scene? Other than screwing up the bench scene from here to hell? Just look at it. Look at those two pictures. WHat do you see? Anne gets invited to join the club and she bails. SHE BAILS! AND SHE GETS AN IN! WHAT THE FUDGE?! Like, no nononononon nonono no NOOOO NO! nO FOR ONE aNNE WOULD NOT BAIL ON SHIHO LIKE THAT! She can actually watch Shiho, be near her, one of the issues in the game is that Anne doesn’t see Shiho often. Their lifeline to each other is cut. Yeah maybe Kamo would try something with those two, but I think he wouldn’t want to take his chances since it’d be hard to fight off two at once. So Anne SHOULD be in the clear, him talking to her after the club would be a new issue, but  ANNE WOULD TOTALLY GO TO THE CLUB TO WATCH SHIHO FIGHT ME. And as for reason number two  as to why this scene sucks. It’s the life line, you can see in the game’s bench scene, even in the manga, Anne can’t follow Shiho. She has no in. She’s an outsider. She doesn’t know what’s going on because she’s an outsider and she can’t make Shiho talk. That’s one of the big conflicts of the game (and manga). She’s not on the team, she’s not on some committee like the Student Council, the most she can do for Shiho is cheer her on and try to string Kamo along. But what does Anime!Anne get? A FUDGING IN! The one thing Anne needed in P5, not to be an outsider, she gets an invitation to a thing she needed and she turns it the fudge down!! LIke no! Noooo???!!!!
*inhales* As you can see I have issues with this on a number of levels. Now do I think it could’ve worked in the anime? Hell yes. Reorder everything to the right order from the game. Change the corridor scene to the optional scene you can overhear with Anne/Shiho on 4/13 talking about the MC and rumors, they split up and after Shiho rounds the corner Kamo catches Anne and the 4/12 scene (the one that MC overhears) happens. Anne declines him and walks away, cut to Shiho who is like “oh I need to tell Anne something” and have her round the corner and run into Kamo. The scene from the anime plays out where he abuses her. This way Anne doesn’t get an in and doesn’t abandon Shiho. Now move Anne yelling at Ren/Ryu about digging up dirt about Kamo, where she shows concern about them, but they don’t reveal any info so she’s still in the dark. Then the bench scene plays out like in the game with no interruptions, and they question Shiho like in the game.
*inhales* Ok now let’s go to Ryu……Thankfully this should be more straight forward. But man, even the manga got Ryuji right (or at least didn’t get him wrong like the anime did).
Ok so we all know the issue with Ryuji (and by extension the MC) right? Both are “protector of women” in the first arc, very respectable (well the MC does have the one line I didn’t like but haha we’ll get that THAT in a second), just good guys all around. Then everything post-dungeon 1 it’s “let’s make everything horribly sexual and objectify Anne and IT’S OK IF WE DO IT CAUSE WE’RE THE MAIN CHARACTERS!” Yeah THAT problem. One of the reasons the first dungeon is my fav. So let’s compare how Ryuji reacts to seeing Cognitive Anne (as well to the other sexual imagery) shall we?
Game:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anime:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Manga:
Tumblr media
Before I rip into it, the manga they don’t actually showcase his good boy status like in the game, but they also don’t make him a perv so I’ll fudging take it. And yeah I think it’s Akira talking in that panel, but again, Ryuji isn’t acting like a perv and she’s clearly not happy. (also they never see Cognitive Anne till Anne’s awakening, which….and Mona falls for the real Anne instead of the Cognition as he first meets her when she accidentally gets pulled into the Metaverse)
So……remember how I had a minor nitpick with how they introduced Ryuji? Him not running? Well there was……another thing I realized while typing this. Anime Ryuji doesn’t call Kamo a pervy teacher when he first speaks, Game/Manga!Ryuji do but not Anime!Ryuji. Instead he just calls him a bastard, but not a perv. He doesn’t call him a perv till Anne’s awakening in the anime. YEs this is important. Game/Manga!Ryuji make a point that they hate how pervy Kamo is, and how horrified they are of his perviness. Anime!Ryuji doesn’t until it’s too late. Is it more in-character considering the perv pile he becomes post-dungeon 1 in-game? Maybe, but why would you wanna double down on that? Ryuji was great in dungeon 1! Anyway Ryuji doesn’t show his horror until it’s too late, instead he avoids calling Kamo a perv so he’s not seen as a hypocrite in terms of perving, but then they just…..make him a hypocrite anyway cause he still calls Kamo a perv just later after perving himself. It’s just…..what the fudge….
Also did you notice, the “so jealous line” was originally the MC’s. Now I hate the line, but it really makes no sense for Ryu to say it esp during dungeon 1.  I mean it makes no sense for the MC to say it (this is probably why I hate the MC, I really hate some of his “cheeky lines). But why give….a character that already speaks…a lot more than the silent MC? Why give Ryuji one that makes him look worse to boot???? Like I didn’t like Yu Narukami or the P4 Anime, but it at least made sense why Yu took Yosuke’s “hey it’s the pint size detective” line from him. Yu needs more lines, so does Ren. So why add something unnecessary when you could just give Ren more lines? It’s just…..I’m sorry this really pisses me off. This really killed my goodwill for the anime, and it was dead by episode 3 (but I did finish arc 1).
Like, the anime did two good things that remember from those eps, 1) Having Kamo be jealous over the MC for being near Anne and the rumors about Ren/Anne hitting on each other (cause it’s SOOOOO in character for him, 2) Shiho’s abuse being shown. And I do like the idea that they are….slightly capitalizing on the fact they are suppose to have their personality change when in the Metaverse (this is mostly Ren tho), but I saw it with Anne as well. I mean they promised that with the game and I thought they did jack with it. Anyway not sure how much they’ve….continue to capitalized on it but…..at least they tried. Tho I think I prefer the manga the  most in this case, just a bunch of useless, newbie doofuses trying their best but they know they aren’t all that. Instead of being a bunch of useless thieves who think they are all that but really they all suck at being thieves (more of a game problem than the anime but tbh considering how Ren is cocky in the anime I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a shared problem).

PHEW enough of that. p5a ep13 got me in a good mood and i don’t want negativity to ruin that. because god, was that a good episode.
I’M ABSOLUTELY FUCKING LOSING IT!!! THEY REALLY DID THAT
THEY REALLY STUFFED GORO INTO YUSUKE’S SOCIAL LINK LIKE THAT
I’M STILL REELING I CAN’T BELIEVE WE GOT AN EPISODE CENTERED ON BOTH GORO AND YUSUKE IT’S LIKE THE LORD HIMSELF CAME DOWN TO EARTH AND BLESSED US?
like i told my fellow shuake stans, this is where the budget has gone. into making goro as beautiful as possible. and i have absolutely zero complaints. after all it is their selling point so of course they’d use all their efforts on optimizing his every appearance
no but really it’s so good. naturally i am very biased because, well, goro, but their episodes centered on. well. technically filler content, social links and whatnot, they’re so much stronger than the “story relevant” arcs with the palaces and such. it’s kinda funny but god, i love that they give other characters some space like this. space and development. it’s glorious and i love it.
also it seems like... we may be getting into mishima’s social link too. we will get animated shadow mishima, i’m about 94% sure of this and i am so goddamn happy about it....
ANYWAY! yusuke’s confidant was done so good. i love that we got the church scene done so good, AND HIFUMI LIKE ABOUT TO COME INTO THE CHURCH WHEN SHE SEES... THEM..... AND SHE JUST SHUTS THE DOOR AND LEAVES. I FUCKING LOVED THAT
and combining yusuke’s confidant with.... goro showing off his detective skills....... i could literally never be more grateful. this was glorious. i loved it so much
ALTHO i could not help scream every time i saw. goro. in the background. while ren’s hanging out with yusuke. just fucking spying on them. i lost my shit every time like what the FUCK are you doing, boy. i know he was conducting his investigation but.... he pretty much was conducting an investigation just as much on yusuke and ren as he was on kawanabe. and i’m about 99% sure that’s what he was doing, too. like every interaction between ren and goro? every-
CHESS GAME? THEY PLAYED CHESS? REN DIDN’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO PLAY CHESS AND HE STILL HUMORED GORO. i LOVE chess symbolism and this episode Had That. my god, it had that.
GORO ASKING REN TO BE HIS ASSISTANT? I’M SHAKING?
i don’t even know what i’m talking about anymore i am so overwhelmed by this episode. it was so good. the entire budget has gone into akechi and i fucking love it. thank you p5a director for my life

Hey Neni, in future spin offs when the p4 gang appears again (whether it be P5A when it happens or P5Q). Do you think they will age them up like the P3 cast or do you think we are in for more time travel shenanigans to keep them in high school?
Gosh, I want to see them older, that would be so amazing.
College Boys Yu&Yosuke
Super luxurious, Ayumi-Hamasaki-style diva, Rise
Tough as nails Police Academy Rookie, Chie
Lady Yukiko
Fashion Designer Kanji
long-haired, badass mature Naoto (WITHOUT the transformer motorcycle partner and badly written novel attached)
And a Teddie, who’s made sure his body kept up growing along with the others, but still has the mind of a child most of the time.
I want ALL of that so badly, I can’t even tell you. (It doesn’t help that I once roleplayed 10-years-later versions of Teddie and Yosuke with great passion) and I think there’d be great potential having them interact with the phantom thieves that way, especially given that at least 2 members of the IT are celebrities, and also 2 are in law enforcement. This could to much interesting stuff.
And Morgana would be torn between idolizing Teddie for his humanoid accomplishments and wanting to give him a wedgy constantly.
We’ve seen so much of the P4 cast as teens already, but the games also made such a great deal of how much growing up is going to change for them, both positively and negatively. There’s so much potential in it, it’d be a shame to not follow up on that.

Output
Below is the output of this program: counts and percentages for chosen variables.
a. DIAMETER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
b. DEPTH
Tumblr media Tumblr media
c.EJECTA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary
To have better organized distribution for diameter, the variable was cut in ranges: 1-1.99 km, 2-2.99 km etc. (database contains craters with diameter ≥ 1km ). All craters were measured, so there is no missing data in this variable. About 94% of craters have diameter less than 10 km.
To have better organized distribution for depth, the variable was cut in ranges: -0.99 – 0.01, 0 – 0.09, 0.1 – 0.19 km etc. (there were 10 craters with negative value). Because about 80% of craters were not measured, category NaN was added to frequency distribution.
For ejecta morphology there are 2 characteristics important: MORPHOLOGY_EJECTA_1 and MORPHOLOGY_EJECTA_2. Both variables were joint into one variable. Because about 95% of craters were not identified, category NaN was added to frequency distribution.

Is super teams bad for the NBA?
Jay Boozell, in his article, “Are Super Teams Bad for the NBA?” (2017), informs us on his opinion on if super teams are good for the NBA. He gives an recent example of the decision made by Kevin Durant joining the Warriors and how it affected the NBA. The author tries to influence your opinion on super teams by addressing the fact that they cast a shadow on other teams that can not compete. The author is speaking to all people who are fans of any NBA team because it talks about the effects of NBA teams.
Jay Boozell argument can be standardized as follows:
P1: People had negative things to say about Kevin Durant joining the Warriors.
Sub-P1a: People said things such as, Kevin Durant was a coward
Sub-P1b: Kevin Durant only joined the Warriors because he couldn’t beat  them in 2016.
P2: People had positive things to say about Kevin Durant joining the Warriors.
Sub-P2a: Kevin Durant is his own man and he can make is own decision
Sub-P2b: Kevin Durant does not owe anyone anything and therefore he should find the best situation for him.
P3: Jay Boozell agrees with Kevin Durant joining the Warriors
Sub-P3a: Jay Boozell believes that Kevin Durant’s team choice has nothing to do with his character.
Sub-P3b: Jay Boozell says, if was in his shoes he would have done the same thing
P4: Kevin Durant decision has specifically impacted the playoffs in a negative way
Sub-P4a: The dominance of the Warriors and Cleveland has step an unrealistic goal for the other 28 teams
Sub-P4b: Teams are surrounded by the best players in the league
P5: NBA games has lost excitement and peoples eagerness to watch the games
Sub-P5a: It is almost certain that either the cavaliers or the warriors are going to win
P6: Kevin Durant decision has created a powerful super team
Sub-P6a: The only team that can compete with the warriors is the cavaliers
Sub-P6aa: Good playoff teams have been recognized as average
T: Therefore, super teams are bad for the NBA.
Jay Boozell makes very good points on why he believe that super teams are bad for the NBA. I would agree with his points because in my case I feel as though NBA games are becoming more predictable due to the gap of the level of talent each team has compared to others. He gave a good example of Kevin Durant and the effects it had on people's opinions because in this case this is the turning point on when the idea super teams become relevant. Even though there has been super teams this is the first where it is clear that they has a clear advantage over all other teams.
By using Kevin Durant as the topic of the decision it made the whole article more relevant. This is because Kevin Durant is one of the biggest names in the NBA, and this decision that he made did not only affect him but it affected the fans and other teams in the NBA. Also, Jay Boozell does not only gives us his opinion about Kevin Durant decision but the fans as well, which he compares why he agrees with Kevin Durant and disagree with the fans that do not. Overall, this is a very good article because it does not only show Jay Boozell side but the fans and teams too.

Why good businesses fail| Smart Growth
Good businesses can fail for a variety of reasons, despite having a solid foundation and demonstrating potential for success. Here are some common reasons why this may occur: Market changes: The business landscape is constantly evolving, and unforeseen changes in the market, such as shifts in consumer preferences, technological advancements, or economic downturns, can catch even well-established businesses off guard. Lack of innovation: Failure to adapt to new trends, technologies, or consumer demands can make a business obsolete or less competitive over time. Undicipland expansion: ill considered expansion, and the "undiciplaned persued of more". Inadequate marketing and branding: Even with an excellent product or service, if a business fails to effectively market and communicate its value proposition, it may struggle to attract customers and generate revenue. External factors: Events beyond the business's control, such as natural disasters, political instability, or changes in government regulations, can have a significant impact on its ability to operate. Lack of customer-centricity: Failing to prioritize customer needs and satisfaction can lead to declining customer loyalty and negative word-of-mouth, impacting the business's reputation and bottom line. Overall, a combination of factors can contribute to the failure of a good business. Surviving and thriving in the dynamic world of business often requires constant evaluation, adaptation, and innovation. ✅ Stay Connected To Us. 🔔 Subscribe to our channel to be successful in your business: https://www.youtube.com/@smartgrowthofficial ============================= ✅ Other Videos You Might Be Interested In Watching: 👉 Embrace AI 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBcYAfmtW-E 👉 Motivation in 2023 and beyond is everything https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5a-F7c-Yvk 👉 innovative business ideas for 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZftP6nBKgqk 👉 Good Decision-making is crucial to success https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcNmsiahaI4 ✅ About Smart Growth: Welcome to my YouTube channel! ever think about how if ur in a hold up with a brainwashed shadow joker just says "submit to me. " when you try to recruit them? like that's a pretty big tone shift and i dunno if it says much about how grey is but he really just switches character so fast
sdjfhs YEAH again i know this is something a lot of ppl in the fandom don’t seem to agree with, but i view akira as a very dominant personality. i mean when you think of some of the things that he can say to people in this game…he really seems to have VERY little regard for people that may hold any kind of authority over him or should, by all rights, intimidate him. i mean look at some of these responses he can give (sorry for the quality - i’m livetweeting a playthru so it’s just a phone camera!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they have no guarantee in the kamoshida arc that any of this will work. if akira gets expelled, not only is this the only school that would take him, he’ll also face actual jail time and yet he can choose to say this shit jdfgbdfg
Tumblr media
iwai literally just told him he’s in the yakuza, and this is the correct response in game lmao
Tumblr media
this is a little different, since it requires high guts but it’s v reminiscent of the scene i mentioned in my ask before, which is:
Tumblr media
akira may not know they’re the same person at that point, but he’s sure gonna treat him the same no matter what
Tumblr media
he can even just. blow off igor if he wants to.
this is all kind of a tangent from the idea of akira’s gray morality, but it’s another important point of his character to me and one that you can take away from the game itself given the options you have. and this was another thing i was really disappointed with when the anime came out. why give akira incredible options like this and then not follow that path? i guess it is an interpretation that can also be taken from the game, so it is just as valid, but i really think an akira that chooses the answers above makes for a more interesting character, ESPECIALLY since he’s a rebel. that’s. that’s like his whole thing.

I like to imagine Joker as the person who can and will hide his own emotions to be the emotional crutch for the Phantom Thieves and the confidants, with he himself secretly violent, happily killing the shadows as well as extremely insecure and desperate to keep the respect of the PT and his leadership, but also willing to die for any of them. So basically chaotic good and chaotic neutral combined.
chaotic good/chaotic neutral akira is!! my favorite akira!!! and i definitely agree with what you’re saying, it’s pretty much how i see him too. akira walls off his own thoughts and feelings for various reasons to me. the first is that he doesn’t want to show weakness because he doesn’t want the pts feeling scared or vulnerable, so if he projects the image of an infallible leader, it’ll inspire confidence and morale in his teammates. additionally, he sort of…wants to be seen as the perfect leader, the perfect thief, again something he shares with lupin. akira wants to seem omnipotent in a way, a person that is always calm and has everything accounted for bc it sets his companions at ease and gives him their admiration too, two things akira desperately wants. and finally i think he also doesn’t want them to see the darker sides of his thoughts and feelings, mostly for fear of judgment and losing their trust. akira always sets out to be everything to everybody, so much so that he changes his personality with personas in order to achieve that goal.
i know getting this deep into characterization for a silent protag is all a matter of taste and opinions will differ, but my hc akira is insecure with his true self and a part of that is due to his extremely gray morality. i see akira as being fairly complex, with a pretty big ego, highly intelligent and observational, and totally unfettered from the expectations of others, which allows for him to do whatever he pleases in life (from the extreme of making deals with criminals to being an absolute dumbass in public bc none of that scares or embarrasses him really). however, he also has questionable morals, he feels things to a deep degree that can mess with his thought process (despite hardly showing it), and can make a lot of reckless/stupid decisions based on his heart (or whims) rather than his head. he is also extremely sensitive to suffering, in his friends, in the world, and he experiences pain for others far more often than he does for himself. it leads into him becoming lonely easily and he values his relationships with his friends above anything else, which is why he will always take the gamble for his confidants or risk everything he has for their sake alone. this is TOTALLY a subjective interpretation, but i love him so much like this, really honestly a modern lupin (i honestly couldn’t believe how much my hc akira matched lupin’s character beat for beat when i started reading the novels, but they’re nearly the identical). so yea my akira is definitely a jackass, but he would give anything for the people he loves and he truly wants to make the world better for the people who suffer in it.
i kinda just…spilled an outline of akira’s character here BUT YEAH he’s completely chaotic, sometimes for good, sometimes just for himself, and this is the akira that i love. of course ideas differ, but this is how i like to see him despite a lot of people’s views shifting due to the anime. no offense to people that enjoyed it!!! but it was really ren’s character that put me off of it, sadly.

chaotic gray akira is my favorite akira and i tend to treat him and Ren as seperate entities. i havent watched v much of p5a but Ren is a lot more passive and only truly snaps when backed into a corner where as Akira really has no such qualms about doing iffy things for the sake of those he cares about. i love them very much.
BIG SAME. ren and akira are very different in my head. ren is much more meek and nervous in the real world, and as joker he grows in confidence and is able to be a strong leader in the moment when he needs to be. so like. i get that it was supposed to be “shy bumbling boy has an alter-ego as a mysterious phantom thief!” kind of thing but uhhhhh no thanks. it’s not really the archetype i wanted for him personally - it left him feeling…boring and without the passion he should have by all accounts. akira has huge helpings of bastard in him and is extremely resolute. he’s quiet in public not due to shyness or uncertainty, but because he’s busy observing others and is just generally introverted (as an aside: i know this isn’t really his characterization in the manga serialization where the name comes from, i just attached it to my hc version and the “in-game” protag due to it being the first name i knew him by)
i can see the appeal of the ren interpretation, but it left me sort of “eh” on the name for him sjdfbhbdf (but i won’t get down on ppl for using it!) plus, i liked akira using the kanji for “daybreak”, since it ties him in with satan as lucifer, the morning star. it just suits him to me, even if the name ren also has its fair share of symbolism - but again, akira is a much more aggressive hope (he brings the dawn, affects the change) whereas ren is quieter and more personal/passive to me (lotus, he blooms in lowly circumstances and purifies). all that being said…i kind of love that joke hc where ren is his real name but he just. decided to call himself akira on his first day of class and ran with it. it’s so peak chaotic neutral akira i absolutely love it lmao

I like splitting the anime Akira and the game akira, so the anime Akira in my mind is Ren and and game akira is Akira the Asshole lol, this is also the same case for yu/souji for me too, so it's yu the anime Chad and souji the big gay baby
OH definitely i’m the same here. i separate out ren as the anime protag, who is decidedly different from akira as my in-game protag. i feel sort of bad for it, but i just really don’t care for ren as a character and his only real value to me is having a twin au.
honestly, i have to say i think atlus was going for a different character than what the anime presented - his character design was specifically made to be mysterious, intense, and alluring, and his character is meant to be representative of both a rebel and a criminal. i mean like his glasses were incorporated into his design to disarm his eyes that were meant to striking and piercing (i read this awhile ago…i wish i had a link for the source hhh sorry). akira has an air about him that was basically just one of intimidation, and the messy hair + the glasses are how he’s trying to hide it now that he’s on probation and doesn’t need any more trouble than he already has. in short: he’s not a soft person, and he doesn’t look like it. he can frighten people just by looking at them, but they really softened his features for the anime (and, as an aside on this, it bothers me that a-1 is doing the animation for the royal bc they’ve softened the in-game akira now too uugh he was never too intense in the original cutscenes, but god you can see the difference in character design from the new anime portions of the royal)
i feel being presented with both of these things sort of naturally leads the player into characterizing him a certain way? i didn’t get into p5 right when it came out (bought it a couple months after release and then took awhile to get around to playing it), but there seemed to be such a consensus of a cocky asshole earlier in the fandom as opposed to post-anime and the fans that are around now. and honestly…i’m not sure why they went with this characterization, although i really don’t know how he was received or thought of in the japanese fandom. it was clear there was a shift, although i will say i’m glad it didn’t seem to affect p5d given his voiced lines and the choices you can make for his responses, but idk what the motivation was for it. maybe they like it more in japan? maybe it’s just due to having different directors doing different adaptations? obviously i have a wait and see attitude with the royal, but it makes me a little concerned given the shift to a-1 for the cutscenes and having a different director bc i just…don’t want akira managed in a way that lets me down since i adore p5 so deeply. i think it should be ok, since he’s back to being a silent protag, but they incorporated a character in him in vanilla p5, and i would hate to see a shift for the royal toward the soft ren character type.
