It was Jack’s day off, and while he had a perfectly good coffee machine at home, he thought it was too hot to have a normal cup. So, he begrudgingly went to one of the coffee shops near his apartment and ordered an iced coffee. Glancing around, he saw that it was pretty packed but he saw a table that had an open seat. “Hey! Is this seat free?” Jack asked the girl sitting on the other end, sitting down before she answered because he figured that the worst that could come from it was he had to get up and find somewhere else. “I didn’t realize it was going to be so busy today” He said with a grin

Bad Karma // Hannah & Clem
Clem had been seeing red ever since she saw the bruises that lined Addison’s face and body. She knew it wasn’t all Hannah’s fault. but knowing how hurt her girlfriend had gotten was enough to send her on a hunt to find the other girl. She could nearly feel her blood boiling as she thought about it.
She was in the quad now, looking around when she noticed someone who matched Hannah’s description. She didn’t have a plan as she walked over to the girl, her body already squaring up to appear larger and more intimidating, even though she was the same height as the other girl “Hannah, right? We need to talk. Now.”

two girls, one guy, & one plié | julie, alex, & hannah
WHO: @julie-spencer, @alexgrey-ontour, @cordellahannah
WHAT: Alex agrees to attempt a plié and other various ballet moves while Hannah joins them for “moral support”, but really to post the embarrassing moments on Instagram live.
WHEN: March 27th
WHERE: Conference room in the hotel in Detroit
Julie really needed a break from everything. Her plan to surprise Cooper with the dance had completely fallen through. He wasn't willing to talk to her and it broke her heart. When Alex had offered to attempt the plié she had so desperately been waiting for, she felt a little bit better. She extended the invitation to Hannah because, I mean, someone had to take the professional photos if he ripped his pants. When the door opened, Julie spun around to see Alex and Hannah and a grin spread across her face. "Hey! I'm glad you finally agreed to this. Are you ready to add pliés to your workout routine, Alex? And did you bring your phone for pictures, Hannah?"
Honestly, Alex had just noticed that something was amiss among the string of questions that the choreographer had been receiving throughout the day. He wasn't sure exactly what, nor did he think it was his business, but he knew that there was always an opportunity to make someone else smile and feel better about their day, even if it was something small. Not to mention, he missed ballet. He had taken it when he was quite young, and while he'd fallen out of practice when going pop, he'd always had an appreciation for it. He stepped through the door, his hand in Hannah's as he smiled brightly at Julie. "Bring it on, teach, I'm more than ready."
Hannah honestly couldn't pass up the chance to see Alex making a fool of himself. Not that she didn't have faith in him to really be a good dancer in such a way but she also knew that Julie was one of the best dancers and she wouldn't go easy on him. So obviously she had to be there to snap any embarrassing pictures for later on instagram. "I absolutely have my phone to capture any embarrassing moments brought to us by this handsome fella." she gave his hand a squeeze before kissing his cheek and scurrying off to the side so she wouldn't be in the way.
Julie grinned in appreciation of the two of them before sitting on the ground. "Okay, so first and foremost, we don't want you to pull any muscles, so we're going to do some basic stretches." She reached out to grab one of her feet to stretch one leg and then switch to the other one. "And then... once we do that..." She repositioned herself before transitioning into a split. "...we do a split to really stretch it out. Easy peasy!"
Alex squeezed Hannah's hand back, kissing her forehead before sitting on the ground before Julie. He easily stretched from leg to leg before widening his eyes as she did the splits. "Oh, okay, so you're trying to make this as embarrassing as possible from the get-go," he teased, trying to position himself in the split but falling over almost immediately.
She finally managed to clear the blush off her cheeks when Alex decided to try and do splits. Luckily she chose that moment to whip out her phone and start recording some videos. "Beautiful! This is content is instagram gold to be honest." she laughed loudly clearly amused by all of this.
"Oh, I never said it wouldn't be embarrassing. That would take the fun out of this." Julie laughed, helping Alex up off the ground. "Okay so, I don't have shoes that would fit you, so we'll just have to make do -- unless you wanna try to fit into an old pair of mine. Just remember there's literally a block of wood in the tip of the shoe." She couldn't help but continue to chuckle. This was actually making her feel a little better. "So when we do a basic plié, think of it as you're doing a squat, but you want your feet turned outwards perfectly straight. Like so--" She got into the correct pose. "And from there, you just bend your knees, keeping your feet as straight as possible, and curving your arms with your hands centered in front of your torso." Julie continued with demonstrating a plié, waiting for Alex to give it a shot.
Alex turned to stick his tongue out at Hannah as he let Julie pick him up. He looked down at his feet before glancing over at Julie's before shaking his head with a small laugh. "I think my feet have some length on yours. I think we'll have to try and make do." He stood back watching her, positioning his feet as she did, listening intently as she instructed him. He nodded, lifting his arms in an awkward curve as he bent his knees, his feet not staying as straight as they could've but overall not the worst display.
Though she was absolutely making fun of him, she was also there supporting him. Dancing was not easy and she commended Julie and Olivia for spending so many years doing so. "That wasn't bad at all, babe!" she cheered him on when he managed to complete the first one. Pressing start on the instagram live recording she debated on doing ( even though the cameras were definitely there to record for the show ), she cleared her throat. "Hey, everyone! I'm here to offer you the best content you could ever want. Dem Boiz hottie Alex Grey doing some serious ballet. Let's see if Julie can turn him into the next Nutcracker." she switched the camera to land on him and Julie now.
Surprisingly, Julie was taking this pretty seriously. She watched his form carefully, tapping her finger on her chin as she did so. "Hmm... that was pretty good for a first try! But your feet moved, so that'll be a point deduction." She chuckled, taking another stance. "This one is gonna be harder for you because you don't have the right shoes, but..." In one swift movement, Julie got on the tips of her toes and recreated the first plié with the only difference being her being on her toes. "Think you can manage that, Grey? You might wanna make sure you get a good shot of this, Hannah."
Alex glanced back briefly as he heard Hannah start the Instalive, scoffing slightly as he waved. "Guys, if I break something, I'm going to apologize now for the excessive whining that you're going to hear." He turned his attention back to Julie, nodding at her instruction, also taking this somewhat seriously. He was an overachiever, Alex. He liked knowing all sorts of skills that he could, and while he never expected himself to be a professional dancer, he wanted to learn. He blew his cheeks out, watching her go to her toes. "What do I need to do to make sure I don't break my toes in the process?"
Hannah remained quiet as she just recorded the interaction in front of her. This was either going to end exceptionally well, or really badly. "Yeah, please try not to break my boyfriend's toes." she laughed a little bit feeling the word slip from her lips with ease and not even realizing what she did, she was just too caught up in getting the good footage.
"So, since you don't have the right shoes for this, you might just wanna try standing on your tip toes the best you can." Julie suggested, putting her feet back flat on the ground. "Just because I'm worried that if you roll your toes to do this, it might cause a stress fracture since you're gonna be standing like this for a bit." She tapped her chin again, trying to think of another way to explain it. "Like pretend you're wearing high heel shoes. Got it?"
Alex couldn't help but grin as he heard the term slip from Hannah's lips, glimpsing back at her with a wink as he looked back at Julie. "Tip toes I can do, yeah. Okay, so...." He attempted the move, bending at the knees before hopping on his tip toes and holding it for a second. "Okay, fix me, jesus this already hurts."
Hannah couldn't help but blush immediately - thankful that his reaction was what it was. "You can do it, baby, c'mon!" she cheered him on, giving him a little clap.
Julie laughed, shaking her head. "Okay, you've suffered enough. We're now going to try something a little extra that's kinder to your toes." She glanced over at Hannah, waving her over. "We need you for this one!" She looked back over at Alex. "So, are you comfortable with catching someone if they run and jump at you?" This one would be definitely easier on Alex, but would possibly be difficult for Hannah -- unless she absolutely trusts him. "Okay, so Hannah, what you're going to do is..." Julie took a few large strides backwards. "You're gonna start right here and then run towards Alex, jump, and just be the most graceful ballerina you can be. Like this." She looked back at Alex, making sure he was gonna be ready to catch her before she began to run towards him and jumping up into the air enough for him to get a hold and lift her.
Alex deflated, releasing a breath as he settled his feet back on the ground. He grinned, giving the camera a little thumbs up as he turned back to Julie. He listened, grinning as he nodded. "Little Dirty Dancing action? Yeah, I can handle that," he said, flexing his arms as he laughed. He watched her, planting his feet and bending his knees to make sure he could get low enough before catching her at her waist and lifting her above her head, barely breaking a sweat.
Hannah raised her eyebrows when Julie motioned for her to join and she cleared her throat before nodding. She placed her phone down to get the shot before watching what Julie and Alex did. “Okay, I can do that!” she exclaimed before moving back to where Julie stood. Mimicking her movements with ease - running to Alex and jumping up when it was time to.
Julie took a step back, to make sure she didn't get in the way and that everything was going to go swimmingly. She was crossing her fingers that Alex wouldn't drop her.
Alex set Julie down easily, smiling warmly at Hannah as he got ready to do the same for her. He planted his feet once more, catching his girlfriend around the waist and lifting her in the air. He grinned as he held her stably, taking a moment to turn them in a circle. "Now I've had the time of my life," he sang with a small chuckle as he looked up at her before lowering her slowly.
Julie grinned, applauding the two of them for their excellent performance. "Yessss! You both did so well! I think it's safe to say you are certified ballerinas now." She laughed. "But seriously though, thank you so much for this. You guys really made my day with this." She truly meant it. While she still felt a slight pang of sadness, it wasn't as bad thanks to these two. "I'll be sad if you don't work this little Dirty Dancing move into a show."
Alex smiled softly as he kissed Hannah back gently, hugging her to him briefly as he looked back at Julie. “Well we couldn’t have done it without our amazing teacher,” he commend softly with a small grin. “Come on, bring it in.” He opened his other arm for Julie, waving her to them for a hug of her own. “I don’t know about you, but that workout has me starved. Are you two hungry?”
When the group hug took place, Hannah hugged the girl tightly as well. She really was thankful for all the people this experience brought. “Let’s do it! Food on me!!” she clapped her hands moving to grab her phone. “This has been Lil Han - signing off!” she blew the phone a kiss before ending the stream and turning back to them.

we can explain || hannah & noah
Noah was surprised by how excited he was to hear that they would all be coming to Vegas, and not for work, but for fun. At the beginning of the year he had wanted nothing other than to throw himself into his work as a distraction, but somewhere along the line that distraction must have worked, because he was finally ready to start having some fun again. When Hannah called, he was quick to accept her offer of a night out. When the two of them got together, it was always fun. By this point in the night his vision was beginning to blur, but his laugh was growing louder. He was relaxed. Noah glanced to his side when he saw Hannah get up, and he nodded his head when he heard what she said. This place was fine, but for Vegas it seemed a little quiet. If they were going to go out in Vegas, they may as well do it in style. He finished his drink as he stood up, slamming his glass back down on the bar with more force than he intended. Rubbing his hands together, he began to walk beside her. "Hmm, what are you thinking? They have all kinds of crazy places out here. We could do just about anything. The possibilities are endless. Think of the stories we can tell our grand kids one day. If I ever have then, that is." He kept on walking, glancing over his shoulder every few seconds just to make sure he didn't lose her. Before he'd even realized it, he was stepping out into the back alley, and he could hear a few gathered voices.
Hannah furrowed her brows. She remembered searching about all the best places but the names couldn't come to her now that her brain was cloudy. "I read about this one place called FX or XS or something like that." She said trying to keep up with Noah, occasionally having to take longer strides to do so. "We'll figure it out. If we get a little lost that'll make the story that much better." Hannah said enthusiastically as she felt humid air hit her skin after she followed Noah through the door. It wasn't the street, but she could see the neon lights at one end of alley. The lights made it possible to see silhouettes standing not to far from the two. An idea popped into Hannah's head. "Maybe we could ask them where to go." She said looking up at him and whispering. Hannah started to walk towards the shadows without caution, signalling for Noah to follow her. She crept closet to them and noticed that they were all huddled together talking in muffled voices. "What should I say, excuse me? I don't want to be rude." Hannah whispered to Noah again, worried about interrupting.
Noah was grateful for the air now filling is lungs, and he turned to look at Hannah when he came to a stop. "I think it's XS, some kind of nightclub. Not a very exciting name, is it? I looked up some places when we were on the bus. Or, at least, I tried to...obviously none of the names stuck." He smiled widely at her next words, knowing that the two of them getting lost was more than likely to happen. "Agreed, much better," he nodded. It was then that he noticed the men huddled around, and when he saw Hannah make a move towards them, he reached out, hoping to pull her back, but she was already off and soon he was following quickly behind. He looked down at her when she whispered and then shrugged, stepping in front of her a little, somewhat protectively and without much thought as he cleared his throat. "Hey, fellas..." he said awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck as they turned to face him. He couldn't exactly make out any faces, but judging by the eerie silence, he could tell that they weren't too happy, and that made him a little uncomfortable. "We were just wondering if--" he stopped mid-sentence when his eyes dropped a little, focusing on what was in their hands. Noah and Hannah, had just unknowingly interrupted some kind of drug deal. Reaching behind him, he held onto Hannah's arm and slowly began to walk backwards, keeping a smile fixed on his face. "You know what, never mind. We were just looking for some directions, but we can just...find our own way." Hannah peered around Noah, noticing that he'd made his way in front of her. She smiled as Noah spoke to them, making sure they all knew her and Noah were friendly. She put her hand on his shoulder when she noticed the awkward tones in his voice, as if it was some kind of support. She tried to squint to see the men better but all she could see were there eyes glimmering slightly in the darkness. The way that their eyes flitted back and forth as they looked at each other made Hannah a little suspicious of what was going on. When Noah stopped mid sentence Hannah realized that he had noticed something as well. She looked at him and then back at the strangers and what they were holding. Hannah recognized what was going on and looked at Noah again. "Oh my god, Noah..." She said quietly as she tightened her grip on his shoulder, hopping only he could hear it. She could feel his hand on her arm and knew that he had realized what was going on. As they backed away Hannah let her smile falter for a second because she had no idea what to do in this situation. When Noah spoke again she smiled again, this time wider in hopes they wouldn't notice that she'd noticed. She giggled awkwardly out of instinct. "I just remembered the directions anyway-- uh, thanks though..." Hannah said to them nodding her head. She quickened the pace and took the fact that they weren't doing anything as a good sign. She noticed new lights flashing against the walls of the alley though, red and blue. "Oh thank God." she said quickly letting out a long breath as loosened the grip on his shoulder. She noticed the strangers retreating out of the alley."I thought we were in trouble for a second there." Hannah smiled at Noah, feeling lucky, and turned around to face to police car that had pulled up behind them. Noah could see angry eyes on him now, but none of the men seemed to make a move towards them as they both continued to back away. Her hand on his shoulder let him know that she was there, right behind him, and that put him at ease. Noah was no stranger to this kind of thing, his brother had once been like these guys. Granted, he hadn't been around anything like this in years and he hoped that he never would be again. When he realized that they weren't going to come after them, he released a long breath. Not only did he not want anything to happen to Hannah, but he also wanted nothing to happen to him while they were here, because if it did then it would get back to Daniel and his older cousin had enough to deal with right now, Noah in no way wanted to add to it. When he saw the suddenly flashing lights, he looked from one end of the alley to the other, and then back again. The men were legging it, and he couldn't help but laugh a little and shake his head. Hannah spoke and he looked down at her with a reassuring smile, about to say something when a bright light flashed in his eyes, making them sting. He looked up then, two police officers stood in front of him while another two seemed to run off after the men who had just fled. The two in front of them now did not look happy. Groaning, he turned to Hannah again. "I think we still might." He gave her a look, thinking like he could talk to her telepathically. It was the kind of look that said, or that he hoped said, 'we can talk our way out of this even though we are completely innocent in the whole thing.' Nodding, hoping she understood, he turned back to the officers and began talking at a fast speed as he tried to explain what had actually happened.
Hannah: put a hand to her eyes as the policemen approached them wielding their flashlights. Hannah felt relieved that they were here. She'd felt uncomfortable before, with the not-so friendly looking strangers. She definitely wasn't looking for that kind of trouble tonight, and didn't want either of them to wind up hurt. Now that enforcement was here she thought that she wouldn't have to worry about that, but when she heard Noah speak she second guesses her relief, taking notice of their body language. Hannah wondered what the problem was and realized that they probably looked as guilty as the other party. Her mind became a little bit clearer as she registered the look that Noah was giving her and nodded back at him. They would have to talk their way out of this somehow. Hannah felt intimidated the police, she'd never had to talk to them before. Hannah started to launch into her story of what had just gone down at the same time Noah started talking. Both of them were talking quickly, under any other circumstance she would have laughed. This time she didn't think the strangers they were attesting to would be so happy. Instead she stopped talking not soon after she started, and listened to Noah and his explanation. She nodded her head as he talked watching the officers, who still didn't seem very happy nor did they look like they were buying what they were selling. So much for innocent until proven guilty, Hannah thought. Their facial expressions and the looks that they were giving each other were becoming worrisome to Hannah. She looked to Noah with furrowed brows and back at the two standing in front of them. "--We weren't buying drugs, I-I swear to God!" Hannah blurted out before even thinking about what she was saying. She realized she could have said something a lot more convincing instead of the same thing someone who was guilty would have said, but her nerves got the best of her. She looked at her feet for a second and glanced sideways at Noah. When she looked at the officers again she was annoyed to find the still looked unhappy.
Noah struggled to keep a straight face when he realized that both he and Hannah were talking at the same time and at a quick speed. Normally this could get them out of any situation, but he doubted their ability to confuse people and actually sound like they knew what they were talking about, would work this time around. Noah was no stranger to the police, and he could tell by the looks on their cold faces that they weren't the type you could reason with. If they thought he and Hannah had something to do with what had gone down, then the both of them were in trouble. He stopped talking and struggled to catch his breath -- all that talking had taken it out of him. Biting down on his lower lip nervously, he waited in silence, and once again found himself on the verge of laughter when Hannah blurted out what she had. "Exactly!" he said, backing her up. "Which I know sounds like something someone who was buying drugs would say, but I haven't been near anything like that since I was seventeen." He stopped and thought about what he had just said and cringed, knowing that it probably didn't help. "I mean -- wouldn't we have legged it as well? I have long legs, I could be well gone by now." Then it came, and he couldn't stop it, a surge of uncontrollable laughter. It seemed like he couldn't go anywhere without something happening to him. "Do you think this is funny?" One of the officers asked, and he had to force himself to hold in another laugh as he shook his head. He glanced at Hannah, trying to stay as serious as he could.
Hannah: was thankful when Noah started to back her up, but still, there was no positive reaction from the cops. She chewed the inside of her cheek trying to think of something that she could say to actually help them out. She turned to face Noah abruptly when she heard what came out of his mouth. Him confessing he used to be around 'this stuff' didn't do them any good either. She shot him a look that she meant to communicate 'Seriously? That's definitely not helping.' Hannah only held that look as he talked about running. Then he started laughing, she had no clue why but he was laughing while being questioned by very mean looking officers. Hannah wanted to be annoyed but she felt a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. Hannah was now chocking back laughter too. "Well... I have really short legs but I can run pretty fast you know." Hannah said to the officer as she chuckled a bit. backing Noah up as he had done for her her. "If we really were into this dealing thing it wouldn't be smart of us to stick around, and I think trained officials like you are deductive and can see what we're saying here." She said nodding and looking between Noah and them. Hannah looked at the officer when he spoke. She didn't find it funny, but as Noah shook his head she realized she did find it somewhat funny. "No--well, yeah a little bit." She said, she knew she probably shouldn't but she figured they'd already made up their minds about what she and Noah were doing here. "It's just that, well, it's us and it's kind of funny that we of all people around here are getting pinned for some drug deal, you see? We're just tourists, we wouldn't lie to you!" She said benevolently, starting to talk quickly again almost as if she was hoping the babbling act would work this time. "Heck, we didn't even know where we were going and were quite alarmed ourselves when... you know--" She let her sentence trail of as she took in a gulp of air after speaking so fast. Hannah laughed nervously. She wasn't quite sure what to do at this point, and couldn't tell what the officers were thinking either.
Noah looked at Hannah and he could tell that she was trying to express how much he wasn't helping. He sighed, dropping his gesturing hands down to his sides. He had a habit of waving them around when he was trying to explain a situation, but he probably just looked like a bit of a nutter. "I know it's not helping, but...it just slipped out. And it's not like I was some dealer, I was...never mind. Not going into this story when these two think we're some pair of drug fiends." He looked at the two men once again and scratched the side of his head, and for a moment he really did think about grabbing Hannah and making a run for it, even though the both of them were completely innocent. But he knew they wouldn't get very far, and it would probably make the whole situation way more dramatic than it needed to be. "If you think about it," he said, accidentally pointing his finger at one of them before he realized and put it back down. "We're victims in this," he nodded in agreement with himself, his expression serious. "All we were trying to do was get some directions, and then we bumped into the wrong crowd who are now practically setting us up for something we didn't even do." Honestly, he had no idea what he was even trying to say any more, and he stopped talking, just staring between two two men and Hannah. They both shared a look and nodded, and Noah could already feel his stomach turn. "Great," he mumbled, knowing what was coming next. "We're going to need you both to come with us." Within a matter of minutes, they were both being read their rights and Noah was now actually laughing, more so out of utter disbelief than amusement. "This is ridiculous," he said, looking over at Hannah as they placed him in the back of the car. "What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Which, by the way, we'd never be proven because we're innocent." He shut up when one of them gave him a cold and silencing look, but it didn't stop him from making countless annoyed faces. He slouched, huffing. "Daniel can not find out about this."
Hannah: was becoming increasingly worried about what was going to happen here. They'd already tried to explain and get out of this mess and nothing seemed to be working. Even as Hannah listened to Noah talk she doubted it would change their minds. She let out a long sigh and rolled her eyes towards them when Noah looked at her, she was getting tired of these guys. Hannah became confused when she heard Noah mumble. As the policemen became talking things were clarified, they were actually in trouble for this. "Are you kidding me?!" Hannah nearly shouted, astonished. She felt her stomach drop and her pulse start to quicken. She'd never been in this sort of trouble and didn't know whether she was more surprised or angry. She looked at Noah and shook her head in bemusement. As one of them tried to put into the car she pulled her arm away. "I can do it myself." She pouted as she slipped into the cab of the car. "This isn't fair!" She said to them following up on what Noah has said. As they got into their seats she began shooting them what she hopped were adequate dirty looks through the rear view mirror. Hannah half smiled at what Noah said, simply because this scenario was so surreal. "You don't have to worry about me telling him." Hannah said to Noah before turning and resting her head against the window.

Rediscovering Oneself || Self-Para
Hannah's lifeless body thudded against the floor. Mere seconds passed between the point her mind went black and the moment she woke up in the cold lifelessness of the Other Side. Sudden clarity dawned on the small blonde as her eyes fluttered open. A dry laugh escaped her lips, echoing into the forest in which she currently lie. Hannah bit her lip out of habit as she sat up, leaves crunched beneath though the sound was muffled as if she were hearing it through earplugs. The blonde peered around the area, trying to get a basic understanding of where she was at and how far she'd have to walk this time.
The first two times returning to the land of the living had been much easier, but the third and now fourth time had sent her much farther from her body than Hannah would have liked. Sighing the doppelganger began her journey back to her body. It would take her at least an hour, if she was correct in her assumption of where she was at. She could hear waves crashing against rocks not to far behind her. The blonde was quite sure that the bluffs were not far from her and that meant she had nearly an hours walk ahead of her. As she walked her thoughts wandered to the previous times she'd been on the other side. More than just the four times she'd died in this lifetime. Vague memories sat on the edge of her mind, teasing her with visions of her previous lives. Lives that she had only known while stuck here in this cold shadow of the world.
One life always stuck out the most. The first life, the one that spawned all the others. Eadlin. The name she's originally bore whispered through her head. The girl Hannah was in the real world found it shocking to believe that she wasn't just a shadow of the girl who'd lived long ago. It'd been a fear she'd kept close to her heart that she was nothing more than a faded copy of a real person, but now she was reminded that she was much more than that. It was somehow both frightening and comforting to rediscover the lives she lost each time she left the Other Side.
Hannah didn't know how long she'd been walking when a voice startled her out of her memories. "Han," the all too familiar voice spoke. It'd been months since she heard it from something other than the saved voicemail in her phone. The blonde turned toward her brother who wore a solemn smile. "You sure are taking your sweet time getting back. You'd think after last time, you'd be more worried about spending time here, but I suppose you never had much worry when it came to doing stupid and dangerous things."
Hannah fought back an urge to argue with him. She was still taking in the sight of him. A tear fell onto her cheek. For months the only image she could conjure up of him from anything other than looking at a photograph was the image of his beheaded body lying before her in the woods behind Haylee's house. It'd been something that haunted her whenever she was unlucky enough to fall asleep. But now he stood before her looking as he did hours before his death, when she'd last seen him alive. Hannah rolled her eyes as she finally found her voice, "You're still an overprotective jerk."
A full smile broke out on Sam's face and Hannah couldn't help the small smile that lifted the corners of her lips. "Someone has to look out for you when you decide to get yourself killed. Look what happened when I failed to come find you last time." The blonde's eyes averted downward at the mentioning of her last experience. The crazed dead cat woman had stalked her through the very forest they stood in now. She didn't once touch Hannah, though the girl had doubted she could have done any physical harm here. But she whispered horrid thoughts and ideas into Hannah's head. At the time she'd dismissed them and ignored her as best she could until she finally found her body and returned to life. She'd had no idea that those whispers had left seeds in her unconscious mind that would lead to the Blonde doing the unthinkable.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have reminded you of that," Sam's voice once again tore her from her thoughts. Hannah frowned, "I miss you." The dark-haired boy lifts his hand to his heart and speaks in a strained tone, "ouch little sister, you sure know how to give payback." A small smile replaces Hannah's grimace at the sight of her brother's dramatics. It was easy to forget how sad she was in his presence. He'd always had an air about him that made things easier and more fun, even when they shouldn't be. "You can't even let me be sentimental for a moment?" She asked her brother. "Not if it means you're going to be sad; that's not fun at all, Han."
Hannah rolled her eyes as they continued walking. "I'd almost forgotten how little you approved of unhappiness." Sam cocked his head to the side, "And I'd begun to forget what happiness looked like on your face. Before all of this you could rarely wipe a smile from your face, but now few things will bring you a real smile, and I think that's the saddest tragedy of all." Hannah pursed her lips in thought for a moment before speaking again, "I understand now that my suffering could be much worse. I should stop taking life for granted by wasting it wishing things could be different. With luck I'll be able to keep all of this when I get back. Maybe then I can finally start to move on." Sam smiled genuinely as they finally reached the edge of the woods, "good."
The two fell into silence as they walked in the direction of Nathanael's home. Hannah's thoughts turned toward her return to life. Would Clair's spell work? Would it merely protect her from possible corrupting thoughts, or would it allow her to keep these parts of herself that she'd begun to regain? She'd only scratched the surface of herself, feelings and thoughts that she didn't quite understand yet, and she needed to understand more. She could always choose not to go back. She could stay here if she were unwilling to take the risk of losing it all once more, but Hannah felt the fear of staying. She knew she'd spent more time here than she wished to in the last millennium, and though she didn't remember all of it quite yet she knew enough to know that the risk was well worth it to spend just a bit more time in the warmth of the living world.
The sight of Nathanael's house brought an unnecessary but habitual breath from the small blonde. She could see the party still raging on, but everything was dimmer and the voices were muffled just like everything else in this place. Biting her lip, Hannah gave her brother a small smile as they entered the house. The two quickly found themselves in the empty room where Hannah's lifeless body still lay. She was surprised that it had laid untouched for what must have been at least an hour or more. Though she was glad that no one had walked in on her with a broken neck and no pulse. That would have made things a bit awkward after waking up.
"Okay. Im ready, I think." Hannah spoke up breaking their silence. Sam smiled at his little sister, "You know I'd rather not see you here again Han. I love you, and you really need to break this cliche cycle of dying." A laugh escaped Hannah, "I really do, but how am I really supposed to stop vampires from killing me?" Sam rolled his eyes, "Learn to defend yourself for real. I saw you shoot Percy. You could be dangerous if you put your mind to it, and no one would expect it in such a tiny innocent looking package." Hannah mulled the thought over for a moment before nodding. Learning self defense was something she'd really wanted to do, but how she might go about learning it against supernaturals was beyond her.
Giving sam one last smile, she closed her eyes and let herself be pulled back into her body. As her incorporeal form left the Other Side she heard her brother's last words of advice, "remember to try and be that overly optimistic reckless girl again." His words stayed with her until she woke up in the empty room once again, and for the first time since her very first death she entered a life knowing exactly who she was. The small blonde took a heavy breath. The weight of her knowledge was less on the other side, because when she was there it was something she'd always known. There it was knowledge that she'd rediscovered time and time again only to lose every time she returned to life, but here it was different. It was heavier and more jumbled. Thoughts and feelings that were familiar yet so very foreign.
A sharp pain shot through her from unknown origins. It didn't feel physical, but what else it could be she wasn't sure. Hannah closed her eyes and pushed herself upward against a nearby wall. The phantom pain was gone just as quickly as it had come. She need to get home and sleep. Though her body had essentially been asleep for quite a while her mind was tired and she needed to process everything that had happened tonight. The small blonde stood up her left hand lifting to massage the slight throbbing in her neck that she hadn't noticed before. Quickly she made her way out of the house and to her car.

It's a Tragedy | Dannark
Davis very suddenly felt like he couldn't breathe, like he'd had the wind knocked out of him. It was like his entire world was coming crashing down, again. Harper thought that he hadn't loved her. She actually believed that he didn't love her. No matter how many times Davis ran those words through his mind, he couldn't get them to really process. The thought just kept cutting into him, like a million knives stabbing him over and over again. How could she not know how much he loved her? How could she just think that he didn't love her anymore, that he just didn't want her? He'd written one hundred reasons why he loved her, gotten her name tattooed on his arm, been grounded just for sneaking out of the house to make up with her when they were fighting in the middle of the night. He loved Harper so much...and he still did, which was why this was hurting so much.
Davis leaned down and pulled a clean tee-shirt out of his closet, accidentally uncovering a corner of his "Harper" box. The sight of it made his stomach hurt. He quickly shut the closet door and tried to push the thought of all of Harper's things sitting there in his closet out of his mind. He changed his shirt quickly and then went downstairs, giving his mom a kiss on the cheek and telling her that he was spending the night at Mark's. That probably wasn't true, Davis would probably end up back in his own bed or maybe crash at Hannah's, but Mark's house was usually a pretty solid cover.
He made it to Mark's house in record time. The messy haired boy tapped his fingers impatiently on the steering wheel, the other hand messing with the radio, trying to get it off of country music. He needed to get out of Tree Hill for a few hours, even if it just meant going to the next town over, and he needed to forget about how horrible he felt. He couldn't do this. He couldn't handle this. Harper's texts were scrolling through his mind, taunting him, reminding him of how badly he had messed everything up. I wouldn't have picked up if I didn't care. Why hadn't she just said something? Anything. He would have been begging for her to take him back if she had even just breathed a hello. It was hard for her to pick up and listen to him, but it was even harder for him to talk and ramble and know that she didn't love him anymore. It took everything in him to make those phone calls. I was miserable on tour. So she had lied when they had coffee earlier. Davis' heart felt like it was shattered, like it couldn't be repaired. He just wanted her to be happy. He didn't mean to make such a mess, to hurt them both....he just wanted her.
Not in the mood to wait, Davis beeped on the horn a few times, hoping Mark's parents weren't home. He was anxious, he needed to get going. He couldn't stand to be inside his own head at the moment.

old habits || eli + hannah
The rule is no one goes anywhere by themselves. Eli knows it, he's talked to Hannah enough times about violating it, but at the moment he's alone. He's not scared, not of the undead, not of zombies or monsters. But there is something making him anxious, a feeling of unease because he knows he shouldn't be here. He's back behind the pharmacy counter, and there's an itchy, desperate feeling making him scan labels with a quick, narrow-minded intensity. And while his ears are straining and he's listening for anyone approaching, the moment he sees the row of bottles labeled morphine, that all goes out the door. He lifts it in his fingers, mouth dry and lips chapped and now that he has it he can't do anything but stare.

Letting Go || Self-Para
Hannah let out a squeak of surprise as a box fell from the closet shelf onto her. She was changing her sheets and had come into the closet to get a clean comforter from the shelf, and hadn't realized that a box had been sitting on top of the blanket. Pursing her lips, Hannah kneeled down to the box that had fallen open in its descent. It was a box of her childhood things. The sight of her Dr. Seuss books brought a small small to her face until her eyes caught sight of something else in the box.
A small gasp escaped the blonde's lips as her hand reached into the box and curled around a small teddy bear. It'd been years since she'd even seen the thing ratty old thing. Hannah had been sure she'd lost it somehow when she was thirteen, and though at the time it hadn't been a big deal, she'd still felt a little sad over the loss. But here it was three years later hidden in a box of childhood things she and her mother had packed away. They'd packed it all away when she'd turned her room from a little girl's room into the room of a growing teenager. She hadn't even realized that the bear had been a part of the things they'd put away.
A tear began to roll down Hannah's cheek as she pulled the bear out the box. Sam had given her the bear shortly after her fifth birthday. They'd been playing at the park, and Sam had gone onto the monkey bars. Their mother had yelled at him not to, but Sam was hardly afraid of anything. And Hannah looked up to him, and always wanted to do whatever it was he did. So it shouldn't have been a surprise that the tiny bouncing blonde fearlessly followed her big brother onto the bars. She got about halfway to the other side when she slipped. She felt at the wrong angle and landed on her left arm.
Hannah's mother had come running nearly in hysterics. Sam was already at her side, worry etched on his small face. He'd always been overly protective of his little sister, and seeing her hurt caused him pain even as a young boy. Jane Lockwood ended up rushing them to the emergency room where she still on occasion worked when they needed the help. In the end, Hannah had broken her arm; though it wasn't a serious break. She'd had to wear a cast for a couple weeks, but it'd been pink so she wasn't too upset with it.
After they left the hospital Sam made their mother take a detour home that put them at the toyshop in town. He went inside and used the money, that he'd gotten from his own birthday a few months before, to buy a small teddy bear. He gave it to Hannah and told her as long as she kept it he'd never let her get hurt again. For a few years the tiny blonde hardly did anything without the bear whom she'd named "Patch".
For the first time since seeing Sam's body, a sob escaped Hannah's lips. She'd held it all in throughout the week after Sam's death. Hiding behind a normal routine and small bursts of anger, but the sight of the bear brought a string a memories all tied to her protective big brother, and she couldn't hold it in anymore. Once the first sob escaped, the heavy tears soon followed. It was like a dam had finally burst from pressure, and all at once Hannah lost herself in the knowledge that her brother wasn't here anymore.
The thought that she'd never hear him tell her to be careful again was devastating. Of course she'd hardly ever listened to him, but it was knowing that in the end he would always be there to protect her that made her feel safe in her risks. But now he was gone, and she wasn't sure she'd ever be okay again. How could she? Of course she had her friends and her parents, but none had ever looked out for her as much as Sam had. Sam who was probably the most irresponsible person that Hannah knew, but who took his role as big brother more seriously than anyone.
Hannah wasn't sure how long she'd been sitting in her closet crying over the bear, but at some point her tears began to dry up and she grew quiet. For a little while longer the small blonde continued to sit there in silence. She wasn't ready to rejoin the world just yet. By the time she stood up and walked out of the room, Patch still in her hand, it was dark. An idea flashed through her thoughts. She knew it was a stupid idea but she needed a run. It was the best way to clear her head and shake away the last of her tears. A small half laugh half sob escaped, knowing what Sam would say if he saw her leaving the house after dark to run in the woods.

Waking Nightmare || Self Para
The night was going like any other party thrown by Haylee Greyson. Though it was a small town where everyone knew everyone, Hannah was sure she'd never met at least half the people here before. The small blonde sipped at her fourth glass of punch. She was neither a heavy drinker or a wild partier. It wasn't to say she was a saint either, but Hannah was more often than not the more responsible of the Lockwood children. It was no secret that her brother Sam was quite a wild child a lot of the time, and most of the time the blonde unconsciously felt she had to make up for his misdeeds.
She hadn't even intended to drink much when she first arrived at the party, but after drinking her first glass of punch she felt more and more ready to let loose. The stress of the last few months caught up to her, and all she could think about was just letting go. Something bad was going to happen soon, she could feel the tension of it in the air, and that thought only drove her to drink the delicious punch even more. After some time, the blonde found herself in the middle of the Greyson living room bouncing in rhythm with the throng of sweaty and drunk bodies.
The blonde lost track of time, and she wasn't sure how long she'd been dancing in the living room when she stumbled into the kitchen where she refilled her glass of punch. She started to reenter the living room when the sight of familiar eyes caught her briefly. She blinked and they were gone lost in the crowd, or perhaps they hadn't been there at all. Deep down a part of Hannah knew it couldn't have been, but it wasn't enough to stop her heart from racing.
Shaking her head, she continued through the house taking sips of the punch as she spoke with various people throughout the house. She'd almost made it back to the kitchen when she felt a breath near neck. It didn't stop her at first but the quiet whisper that followed froze her in her tracks. Hello Princess. After a moment of frozen fear, Hannah whipped around only to find empty space directly behind her and couples pressed against the wall behind her shamelessly making out.
Hannah blinked a few times before scanning the room. After a few moments she was about to give up when her eyes locked onto the familiar man. It couldn't be, but somehow it was. Percy Darcy stood across the room, standing still amongst multiple dancing bodies. He stared at the small blonde, a sardonic grin pulling at the edges of his lips. Hannah took a few steps back, and before she knew it he was directly in front of her. She tried to turn and run but he grasped at her arm and pulled her back. A gasp escaped her lips, and for the third time in her life Hannah felt a stinging pain in her neck as the hybrid sank his fangs into her throat for the second time. Once again she felt her life draining away, this time in a crowd of people who seemed blissfully ignorant.
Finally Hannah worked up the strength to let go of an ear piercing scream. And then the pain in her neck went away. Percy was no longer anywhere near her, she couldn't even see him at all. Quite a few partygoers were staring at the small blonde in apparent confusion. Hannah took a few deep breaths, her gaze rapidly roaming the room. Her head was reeling, and had no idea what had just happened. She needed fresh air. Hannah stumbled her way to the Greyson backdoor and found herself flinging herself into the cold autumn air.
