I have not been keeping track of anything OC related 😔
If it is not too much trouble, may you compile a list of posts you made about your OCs?
I don’t really have screenshots or links or anything but I have the important info. Because trying to find any posts of mine that aren’t properly tagged whilst I have around 3.3k posts and have posted about 170 posts this month alone is a near impossible task for a lazy person.
For Aphverse (and my general oc universe):
We have Cer. The wolf god. Aaron’s god pal (both I believe are tags that work on my page looking for posts about him). He’s a god with no eyeballs that had his eyeballs eaten by god parasites and then had his mother give him ink eyes in his skin (tattoos) so he could see without needing actual eyeballs. He has a white streak of hair bc I can. He’s a slut, and the gods have long since given up on stopping him.
TUA:
An oc I haven’t named. But I will name him. He’s just a dude that works in a bookshop because his family lives above it, and ends up dating one of the sparrows. I know I have loads of posts about him lmao I just can’t find them. I remember he makes beaded and threaded bracelets sometimes tho and gives them to his S/O (that can’t really wear them but appreciates them anyways), and he’s got a moth tattoo on his sternum + other tattoos.
My own oc universe:
There’s Betsy, her hair is made of gold, she is a nurse for baby gods. She is very large and can unhinge her jaw a scary amount. She has and continues to show willingness to swallow buses whole
And two ocs that I’m p sure remain unnamed. One of them can go invisible and is really pretty, the other is mega into him and is basically just bimbo Medusa. She’s wonderful, I love her. I need to revive her.
there’s Empty. She’s just kind of… there. A being that predates even the gods, she’s just there to vibe and swing her huge sword around. She’s like… if an owl was a person and idk how to describe her better than that.
There’s Cordelia. Princess, had a brother that was obsessed with rats, had a witch gf. There’s also a vibe compilation about that oc group out there somewhere in the universe.

Depleted Under Trump, a ‘Traumatized’ E.P.A. Struggles With Its Mission

Depleted Under Trump, a ‘Traumatized’ E.P.A. Struggles With Its Mission
Despite an injection of funding, the agency still has not recovered from an exodus of scientists and policy experts, both insiders and critics say.
WASHINGTON — The nation’s top environmental agency is still reeling from the exodus of more than 1,200 scientists and policy experts during the Trump administration. The chemicals chief said her staff can’t keep up with a mounting workload. The enforcement unit is prosecuting fewer polluters than at any time in the past two decades.
And now this: the stressed-out, stretched-thin Environmental Protection Agency is scrambling to write about a half dozen highly complex rules and regulations that are central to President Biden’s climate goals.
The new rules have to be enacted within the next 18 months — lightning speed in the regulatory world — or they could be overturned by a new Congress or administration.
The regulations are already delayed months past E.P.A.’s own self-imposed deadlines, raising concerns from supporters in Congress and environmental groups. “It’s very fair to say we are not where we hoped we’d be,” said Miles Keogh, executive director of the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, which represents most state and local air regulators.
As staffing at the E.P.A. thinned out, the workload only increased, both the agency and its critics say.
Career employees are being “worked to death,” said Betsy Southerland, a former top E.P.A. scientist. “They’re under the greatest pressure they’ve ever been.”

Biden administration officials insist the agency has delivered more environmental protections than any previous presidency and listed dozens of new policies, including the creation of a high-level office focused for the first time on addressing racial disparities when it comes to environmental hazards.
The agency’s administrator, Michael S. Regan, has promised that new regulations being written by his staff now will be made public by spring. Agency officials said that the E.P.A. has stepped up its recruitment efforts and has purchased software that has helped it identify more potential job candidates, particularly from universities.
The Biden Administration’s Environmental Agenda
Limits on Soot: The Biden administration proposed to tighten limits on a deadly air pollutant also known as soot responsible for thousands of premature deaths every year.
Hunting Tactics: The National Park Service is moving to prohibit hunters on some public lands in Alaska from baiting black bears with doughnuts and invading wolf dens to kill pups.
Wind Power: The United States will need thousands of wind farms to reach President Biden’s ambitious climate goals. Rural counties have the land, but will they go along?
Mail Trucks: In a win for the Biden administration, the United States Postal Service said it would spend nearly $10 billion to create one of the largest electric truck fleets in the nation.
“The agency is moving further and faster than ever before,” Dan Utech, Mr. Regan’s chief of staff, said in a statement. He added that accomplishments had come “despite depleted staffing levels, persistent funding challenges and a previous administration that left the agency neglected and scientifically compromised.”
The E.P.A. is at an unusual juncture. The 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law and the climate law enacted last year have begun to pump $90 billion into the agency over the next 10 years for climate projects like $1.5 billion for new technologies to monitor and reduce methane emissions from oil and gas wells, $5 billion for states to purchase low-emission school buses and $3 billion to cut pollution at ports. For the first time, the E.P.A. has “a little bit of walking-around money,” Mr. Regan joked to staff at a recent meeting.
But experts said they worry the E.P.A.’s regulatory and enforcement work is taking a back seat to issuing grants.
“E.P.A. is a regulatory agency, and I worry the huge piles of money they now have to administer and manage could end up obscuring the regulatory work the statutes say they have to do,” said Eric Schaeffer, executive director of the Environmental Integrity Project, a watchdog group.
And time is running out.
Mr. Biden wants to cut United States greenhouse gas emissions roughly in half this decade in order to avoid the most severe climate disruptions. Analysts say that even with the new climate law, the president can’t achieve his goal without new regulations designed to cut carbon dioxide and other pollutants from power plants, cars and trucks.
The process from proposing a regulation to enacting it can take months, and the current delays may mean that some rules are not completed until next year. Under the Congressional Review Act, lawmakers can repeal any regulation within 60 legislative days of being finalized with a simple majority vote. So any final rule issued in late 2024 could be repealed by Republicans if they maintain control of the House and pick up seats in the Senate in the November 2024 elections.
Climate advocates say the E.P.A. has yet to propose rules to limit greenhouse gas emissions from new gas-fired power plants and existing coal and gas plants.Kendrick Brinson for The New York Times
Moreover, Biden administration climate rules are also likely to face legal challenges. If a new administration is elected in 2024, it might opt not to defend the rules in court.

A recent report card from Evergreen, an environmental group, found the E.P.A. was behind its own deadlines on nine key environmental regulations, including limits on power plant emissions of mercury and other toxic substances, ozone standards, and curtailing the storage of coal ash to avoid spills and contamination. Most worrisome, climate advocates said, is that the agency has yet to propose rules to limit greenhouse gas emissions from new gas-fired power plants and existing coal and gas plants — measures that energy analysts say will be necessary to eliminate fossil fuels from the electricity sector by 2035 as Mr. Biden has pledged to do.
In a recent interview, Mr. Regan said his agency has recently been reassessing its regulatory plans. The millions of dollars now available through the climate law to make it cheaper and easier for utilities and automobile manufacturers to move away from fossil fuels has led the agency to consider whether it could impose more stringent emissions goals than initially conceived, he said. That would move the power and transportation sectors of the economy even faster away from fossil fuels. He said developing the legal and economic justification for such regulations would take time but was nearing completion.
“This spring, you’re going to see a number of actions taken by E.P.A.” Mr. Regan said.
Despite the billions earmarked for climate programs, E.P.A. remains underfunded and understaffed when it comes to its other obligations, including enforcing environmental laws and evaluating chemicals to ensure they don’t pose an unreasonable risk to human health or the environment.
The nonpartisan Environmental Integrity Project recently found that federal environmental enforcement was slipping under Mr. Biden. E.P.A.’s civil cases against polluters hit a two-decade low in 2022, with 72 such enforcement cases closed in court. That’s fewer than during the Trump administration, which bristled against restrictions on industry yet closed an average of 94 enforcement cases per year. The Obama administration averaged 210 per year, the report found. E.P.A. officials said they were focused on protecting heavily polluted communities by increasing inspections and targeting the most serious violations.
Industries regulated by the E.P.A. are also frustrated, saying the agency is taking too long to determine whether new and existing chemicals pose an unreasonable risk to the environment or human health.
The American Chemistry Council, which represents companies like Dow, DuPont and ExxonMobil Chemical, is frustrated by “constant delays and lack of transparency in how resources are being deployed,” according to a statement from Kimberly Wise White, vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs at the trade group.
President Biden at the Brayton Point Power Station in Massachusetts, a former coal-fired plant that is being converted to connect offshore wind turbines to the electrical grid.Doug Mills/The New York Times
Michal Freedhoff, who leads the E.P.A.’s chemical unit, told Congress recently that the office of chemical safety would fall short of its obligations and miss many “significant statutory deadlines.” She blamed the fact that after a 2016 law significantly increased the agency’s duties, the E.P.A. under the Trump administration never sought the resources from Congress that were required to perform the work.
In fact, Mr. Trump tried each year to slash the E.P.A. budget by at least 30 percent. Highly skilled scientists and other experts left the agency as the Trump administration dismantled science advisory panels, disregarded scientific evidence and weakened protections against pollution.
“They beat down the E.P.A. work force, a lot of people left dispirited,” said Senator Tom Carper, Democrat of Delaware and chairman of the Committee on Environment and Public Works, which oversees the E.P.A.
The result is that the E.P.A.’s chemical safety office is way behind, Ms. Freedhoff told Congress. Attracting and retaining staff has been difficult because of the heavy workload, she said.
Mr. Carper said he was “impatient,” particularly with the regulatory delays, and had expressed that to Mr. Regan personally.
The E.P.A. is hiring and, in the past two years, has increased its payroll by 3 percent, up to 14,844 employees. But that has brought total staffing levels to slightly more than when Ronald Reagan was president.
Staffing at the E.P.A. peaked in 2004 during the George W. Bush administration, when there were 17,611 employees, according to the agency. Those levels ebbed and flowed slightly, but began to take a sharp dip during the Obama administration amid Republican control of the House and Senate.
When Mr. Trump entered the White House, the E.P.A. had 15,408 employees. The following year it dropped to 14,172 employees, a level that stood more or less steady until the Biden administration.
It was only last month that the agency received its first significant budget increase in years, an additional $576 million, for enforcement and compliance, as well as clean air, water and toxic chemical programs.
Max Stier, the head of the Partnership for Public Service, a nonpartisan organization that seeks to make government more effective, said the E.P.A. faced a “consequential hurdle” to both accomplishing the long list of rules that Mr. Biden has promised and to expanding further to make sure money from the new climate law gets spent effectively.
“You have an organization that was at some level traumatized to begin with, that was facing difficulties created over many, many years of divestment and now you have a new set of requirements that are going to call for new capabilities,” he said. “They’re going to have to build up their strength, and that does not happen overnight.”

Segregating public schools by race has been, at least effectively speaking, illegal since the Supreme Court decided Brown v. Board of Education 67 years ago. Oh, there were knock-down-drag-out fights to make it happen, especially in the Deep South, and an argument can be made that what you might call perfect integration of public schools has never completely been achieved. But the law made by that Supreme Court decision has never changed.
What we have seen recently from the Republican Party leads me to believe that segregation is not behind us, either legally or practically. I think the Republican Party, as it is currently constituted, would be perfectly happy with making segregation legal again. Up is down with these fools. Why wouldn’t they attempt to return segregation as the law of the land?
Look at what they’re doing today with the bipartisan commission to investigate the assault on the Capitol that will soon come to a vote. They don’t just want to sweep the whole thing under the rug. They are denying not only that Donald Trump instigated the assault on the Capitol, but that the insurrection happened at all.
Mitch McConnell took to the floor of the Senate this morning to announce that he will oppose formation of a commission to investigate what he called “the events of January 6.” Kevin McCarthy came out yesterday with his opposition to the commission. Republican senators who only yesterday had announced that they supported a bipartisan commission are today saying they will vote against it. Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina is one. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas is another. Both men supported the commission to investigate the assault on the Capitol less than 24 hours ago. Today they are both opposed.
The Republican Party is prepared to do literally anything they think they can get away with. They are going to attempt to go into the mid-term elections next year denying that their party, or the man who they recognize as their party leader, had anything to do with the attack on the Capitol, or with attempting to stop the certification of the ballots of the electoral college. They are engaged in a massive campaign of voter suppression in a naked attempt to make it more difficult for Black and other minority citizens to vote. They’re not even trying to hide it. Their intentions are right out in the open.
So is their racism. For some reason, I was thinking about Jesse Helms the other day. A senator from North Carolina for 20 years, from 1973 to 2003, he was a figure of derision practically everywhere in this country except his own state, and even within the state of North Carolina, he faced stiff opposition. He won his last two campaigns for reelection, in 1990 and 1996, with only 52.5 and 52.6 percent of the vote against a Black Democratic candidate in both races, Harvey Gantt.
The tendency back then was to write off Helms as something of an aberration in the Republican Party, a throw-back to a kind of coarse nativism and racism that most Republicans did not countenance, at least not then. His famous “hands” commercial, that many said was responsible for his victory in 1990, showed a white man’s hands crumpling up a job application after losing the job to a “less qualified” minority applicant. It was criticized at the time for its “racial subtext.” The ad was a nakedly racist appeal for white votes, and Helms was known in his state and in the Senate as racist. He led a 16 day filibuster against creating a federal holiday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. He voted against the Voting Rights Act whenever it came up for renewal.
But Helms wasn’t a lone wolf within the Republican Party. Looking back, we can see that he was its heart and soul. It was Republican appointed Supreme Court justices who voted to disembowel the Voting Rights Act in 2013 in Shelby County v. Holder. A recent proposal by Democratic Senator Joe Manchin and Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act has been met with silence from congressional Republicans. They don’t want to empower the federal government to oversee how states run their elections for federal office. They don’t even want officials like a secretary of state to have the authority over elections. They want Republican-controlled legislatures to control the counting of ballots, and in presidential elections, the awarding of electoral college votes. They don’t want more people to vote. They want fewer. They don’t want fair elections. They want to win. Period.
When Brown v. Board of Education was decided, southern states did everything in their power to prevent the integration of their public schools. In 1964, a decade after Brown, 98.9 percent of Black students in 11 southern states were still going to school in segregated all-Black schools. Whole school systems in at least one southern state were closed rather than integrate. Eventually, court decisions led to integration in one school system after another around the Deep South. In response, many white parents pulled their children out of integrated schools and established private all-white “academies” to educate their children, leaving only a smattering of low income white children to go to school in integrated systems with Black children. And then they fought for years to try to use public tax dollars to fund their private all-white schools. Donald Trump and his secretary of education, Betsy DeVos, were still fighting to use so-called “vouchers” for private segregated schools when he left office.
I remember what it was like in 1964. That year, I went to a high school in Virginia that was partially integrated only because the federal government was able to force the school system in Fairfax County to accept the sons and daughters of Black members of the military. But every morning, several school buses filled with Black children whose parents were not in the military drove past my school on their way to a high school ten miles south. Schools in Fairfax County were not fully integrated from kindergarten to 12th grade until 1974.
The Supreme Court this week accepted a Mississippi abortion case that many legal experts say could lead to a weakening, if not totally overturning, of Roe v. Wade. With six justices appointed by Republican presidents, three by our last disgraced and twice-impeached president, the court is poised to overturn anything they want. They could overturn Roe v. Wade. They could overturn the clause in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that barred federal funds from going to segregated schools on the same basis they did away with the clause in the Voting Rights Act that mandated the overseeing of southern states voting laws by the Department of Justice. In that decision, they found the law interfered with the “sovereignty” of the states covered by the Voting Rights Act. The Roberts court could use the “sovereignty” basis to overturn federal court decisions that have outlawed so-called “voucher” programs that were passed to allow the use of local tax dollars to find private schools that discriminate on the basis of race.
The Supreme Court can do whatever they feel they can get away with. So can Republicans in congress, especially in the Senate, so long as they have the power of the filibuster.
The Republican Party is trying to bury the assault on the Capitol on January 6. They are trying to prevent the investigation of that assault so that another assault just like it can happen. They are not going to risk losing at the ballot box again. They are doing whatever they can get away with to fix it so they can’t lose, even if that means we lose our democracy.

I continue to argue that these nine contractors are the heart of America’s Open Borders movement and thus there can never be long-lasting reform of US immigration policy when these nine un-elected phony non-profits are paid by the taxpayers to work as community organizers pushing an open borders agenda.

Fandom: SVU
Title:Epitaph Song
Chapter: 1 Down South
P O V: Amanda Rollins
Billy's Diner
Loganville, GA 2020
(A/N: Thank you as always for the readers who take the time to review, favorite or follow. As usual I own none of these SVU characters just my original characters. All others belong to NBC, Dick Wolf and Wold Ent. Jessie, Billie do not exist in this fic, I am still deciding if Noah dose or not. If you have a preference as to if you want Noah in it or not hit me up reviews motivate me.)
"Oh, Air Condition, thank God! It's hotter than a roasted pig on a skewer out there." Olivia Benson's laugh is light and airy as we enter the restaurant. "Oh, Amanda, I love your expressions, don't ever change. Seriously your southern drawl is so cute. Don't ever lose it."
"No worries, Olivia; it's been nearly ten years since I moved to New York. I haven't lost it yet." "Thanks again for coming down south with me. It means a lot."
"Your welcome Amanda, are you feeling any better since this weekend?" Shaking the soreness out of my weary bones I feel a yawn snaking up my jawlines as I try to fight it off to no avail, the yawn is relentless in its attempt to escape.
"A little thanks I am still tired and nausea I don't know why I slept all weekend, yet I still feel dizziness not as much as this weekend, but I am still weakened almost as if I am drained of all energy." Sliding into the booth, I lean back against the cool plastic backboard. "I'm sorry for calling out on you this weekend, Captain."
"Amanda, please, stop don't worry about it your health is too important don't apologize." "I am sorry, Liv, not just for this weekend, but now we're both away from NYC."
"Because your dad passed away, Amanda, we're not here on vacation. Kat and Fin understand, and Chief Garland sent two detectives to help out, SVU is covered. Please take some of this concern and apply it to yourself; you lost your dad. I know you haven't been close to him in years, but he is still your dad, give yourself the allowance to mourn, Amanda. Don't hide your emotions down and pretend that everything is perfectly fine."
"I don't think it's hit me yet, Olivia. I just don't feel anything." Olivia's hand slips over my hand as we lay them on the table, waiting on the waitress to come over to us. "It will Amanda, I don't know when sweetie, it may take weeks, days, months, but it will hit you. I just want you to know that I am here, honey, whenever you want to talk."
"Thank you, Liv; I appreciate this jester I know we haven't always been close, but I love the friendship that has been built over the last four years." "As do I Amanda. I love the trust that we've built within each other, the respect. Where is the waitress?"
"Liv, it's the south; we take our sweet time with everything, ain't no rushin' in the country life."
"You ever miss living down here, Peach?" "Honestly, Liv, there are parts I miss like my family, friends. I miss the comfort in knowing there is always someone here who will have your back. What I don't miss is everyone knowing everyone else business."
"Is that a true thing? Everyone else knows each other's business?"
As if God was given me a clue incomes Betsy Jane Rose "Oh, my bless my heart Amanda-Taylor Rollins, is that truly you?" I pick my head up, gritting my teeth as she comes flying inside the restaurant arms wild "Betsy Jane Mary-Sue it sure is, wow child it's been yonders since you've rolled back into these parts."
"Oh, I am so sorry about your daddy, such a shame bless your heart honey-bee."
"Oh well, how sweet of you, Ms. Betsy, so very kind of you thank you, how did you hear about my daddy's passing per se? We didn't put it in the Tribune or online."
"Oh, Sugar, you know how these things work, Lord, who needs that dingy old paper when we gave word of mouth. Has it been that long Darlin? Surely you remember the good old Betsy-Jane- Mary-Sue train."
"Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Oh Amanda, let me enlighten you wow New York City has slapped you silly, child. Anyways So Mary-Jo Higgins oh heavens I was born at night, but not last night! Duh, of course, you don't know who Mary-Jo Higgins is, well back in our days of youth she went by Mary-Jo Robins, so any who baby, Mary-Jo is now an RN."
"That's a Registered Nurse, by the way." "Yes, Ms. Rose, I know what an RN is."
"So yeah Mary-Jo works a that's Loganville Medical Center where your daddy was brought to by the Ambulance. So Mary-Jo was there when he passed bless his heart so Mary-Jo well you know good ol' Mary-Jo never could keep a secret so of course, she told her Mama who had to run down to the Salon to say to Ms. Sue who of course told the whole Salon."
Both of us laugh, "How did you find out, darlin?"
"Oh, you know this little thing called HIPPA they like to notify the Next of Kin, and since my parents you know divorced many moons ago, that would make me the eldest child his next of kin, since he hasn't gotten to remarry yet."
"Speaking of kin-folk dear, where is that sister of yours? She straighten her life out yet? Kimberly coming on her own?"
"No, Ma'am, I'm afraid she ain't gonna make it, you know the whole being in jail thing it kind of puts a cramp on a person's freedom. Thank you so much for coming over though, I sure don't want to keep you."
I don't give her a chance to answer quickly, sliding back into the booth turning to Olivia. Just as our waitress comes over. "good afternoon- honey pies, what can I get you ladies?" after we order, I lean back as Olivia starts to laugh, unable to hold in her amusement over Ms. Rose any longer. "So that's how news travels down south Captain." eagle eyeing Betsy across the room, I can already see she's on her cell phone. "Well, the whole damn town will know I am back soon enough." "that has to be frustrating, Amanda." "Oh, Liv, you ain't got a clue. Every day dealing with women like, is there any doubt about why I got out of here faster than a bat out of hell."
I stay silent about the other reason I left Georgia as soon as I was old enough my sexuality there's no room for differences here in the good old south. No way could I tell Olivia this though she has no idea I am a lesbian. "So, is your Mom coming?" "Lord, no Liv she's up in NY taking care of Mason, Mama said she was sorry the son of a bitch died, but she dumped his ass years ago, let his new hussy handle the affairs."
"My dear new sister, who I haven't even met yet. She's handling everything as per my dad's living will."
"Amanda, I am so sorry." "Don't be Olivia, I am fine." "Of course you are." I don't reply not because I don't have the response in me but because the doors burst open and a vast mass of people come pouring into the already packed diner.
"Amanda! It is true! You are back!" Tommy Jake Edwards "TJ" calls out "Yo Ms. Betsy Jane was right boys. Good Ol Rollins is back in town." there are rumblings from the entire group of men "Liv meet the former jocks of Loganville High School Pyro Red Devils who ruled LHS's halls from 1996-1999."
"Rollins, how can you sneak back into town and say nothing? Yo, Rollins, that is rude! I thought we were your boys!"
"Bump that T-rolls, I am pissed forget these clowns, I am your cousin! Uncle Jimmy is my kin-folk too. Where's my love?"
"Hey, Jensen, I just got back into town like literally ten minutes ago. I'm sorry it's been crazy these last few days. My head is still spinning. I haven't told anyone yet, sorry, truly."
Jensen's arms wrap around me tightly. "No worries, cuz. I got you. I am sorry I know you and your Pa wasn't close but damn it still sucks." "Thanks, Jensen, yeah, it does."
Coming out of his hug, I'm met by his brother Blake who I hug as tightly. "Yo boys will catch you later going to hang with family." the rest of the crew waves blowing me kisses as Liv, and I make room for these two. "Hi. I'm Olivia Benson, Amanda's boss, and friend."
"Oh honey-child we know who you are, we've heard all about you now haven't we Blake?" "Oh, yes, Yes, we have well let us introduce ourselves since Miss. Amanda has the manners of a pig. I am Blake Yankee; Jensen is my twin brother; our Mama is Amanda's dad sister."
"Were you three close growing up?" "Oh, tighter than chili papers, Mama, us, and our uncle TC's kids, our cousins Alonso and Scottie, are coming in tomorrow." "They called us the Rollin- Yankee-Terrors." Sipping my sweet tea, I groan, remembering all the names the seven of us use to get growing up. "don't tell her that she is my boss."
"Oh relax Junebug, it ain't like I told her about the time you put laxatives in Ernie Reynaldo's cornbread when you were ten and locked him in the outhouse for the whole day and told our teacher he ran away to the circus."
Olivia laughs so loudly. I feel my temperature rise in my face. "You what?" my face buries into the palms of my hands. "Yo, boy, that was nothing. Remember when we were twelve, and Kyle Kane told Manda she was uglier than a burnt barn, she took his pants and underwear while he was changing and threw it into the river."
Both boys bang on the table laughing, shoving each other as Olivia arched an eyebrow in my direction "Oh, yeah I do, she let the anger seethe inside all week till Saturday when the whole town was gathered for the annual fishing competition. When Kyle's dad was with the reporter for Atlanta news, Kyle comes walking bare-ass naked; the entire town saw him walking his little dude swinging in the breeze. Kyle was grounded for months. "
My embarrassment only increases as I lay my head down, groaning while all three laugh. "Oh, God, even as a kid, Amanda, you were a rule-breaker and a little shit-head." I feel Olivia's hand stroke mine laughing as she hangs her head down tears running down her face, which a lovely rose color.
I only pick my head up when the food arrives, feeling my whole body shiver and jolt as I lean back, smelling the greasy food. Reaching for the ketchup, I pop a fry in my mouth. I still can't shake this feeling of being drained or the tightness in my head.
"Oh My." another voice pops into my world as I see Mr. Jason Axson and Mrs. Janet Axson coming in with their two kids Christopher 17, Savannah 14. her voice cuts through the air. "How are you, Sugar?' "I am just peachy; thank you, just enjoying dinner with my family, here."
"Oh, of course, we don't mean to interrupt. You could use the food; obliviously, you are mighty thin sugar. Your daddy was right; they are working your tail to its bone up there in that big city unless you are sick again, darling."
"No Ma'am, I am right as a peach as I said, but I am trying to enjoy my dinner." "Yeah, Janet let these nice folks eat; worry about our own family; I do apologize, Miss. Amanda lovely to see you again, we shall pop in at another time."
Olivia's eyes stare right into mine. I know she's wondering about the "Are you sick again" line my face flushes as I look down, avoiding her eyes and the question. Another part of my past she has no idea about, My stomach rolls as I think about all the secrets and pressures I have on top of me, none of which Olivia needs to add to her plate.
"I need to use the bathroom, I'll be back, excuse me." getting up I start to head there, of course, a two-minute walk becomes ten as I am stopped by multiple people offering their condolences. My back hits the wall just as another wave of dizziness hits me; I do everything inside of me not to show it to anyone, I can see Olivia's eyes on me from across the room. Yet it isn't Olivia who catches my attention, rare I know.
This time, Savannah's voice so young, scared, and nervous. I am standing right next to their table as I hear Savannah say. "Mama, Daddy, I have something to tell you." Savannah's beautiful emerald eyes glisten as she stares at her parents. "I am a Lesbian, and I plan to come out this weekend at the prom."
Savannah's courage freezes me. I am forty and don't have the courage she has at fourteen-years-old. I can't think fast enough to react before her mom is out of her chair, smacking Savannah across her face. "You are not gay! Stop your lying, you fifthly whore! Who put these lies in your head? You are a good girl, a good baptist girl. Take it back!"
"No Mama, I can't I won't because I am gay, and yes I am a good girl, I am a baptist and MVP for the last two years in all the southern regions. I will play at college, and I will go pro, and my sexuality won't stop me from doing any of that."
"Fool, of course, it will, but you won't have to because you are not gay!"
"Mama, I am please just listen to me. Stop being such a bitch."
Her dad jumps up, grabbing at Savannah as I react, finally racing towards Savannah as Jason starts yelling. "Don't talk to your mother that way! Ever! No daughter of mine will be a sinner! I could deal with you being pregnant, not this! This is unforgivable. You either get over this phrase you little slut or you are OUT OF THIS FAMILY! Let's go now, Christopher, Janet leave her."
I hurry towards Savannah, who is trying with her whole body to remain strong as her family walks out. I know her face is stinging from the assault, but it's nothing like the pain in her soul. The rest of the restaurant sits there, not offering to help just turning to their families. My hands connect to Savannah's as I help her sit down "Sweetie, I am so sorry that your parents reacted to you."
"It's okay, ma'am, I excepted this. It was so so stupid-crazy to even except for any different outcome."
"No honey, it isn't it's not crazy or stupid to except unconditional love from your family; that's what parents are supposed to do. Of course, you wanted to tell them living in secrets, hiding who you are, it's exhausting. The if only or what-ifs or the I should have's, they take their tolls."
"It's 2020, not 1990 times have changed; maybe the south should catch up." My hands rub Savannah's back softly. "I'm from here honey, so I get it baby-girl I know how scary accepting your sexuality is, I know how painful it is to hold this all inside, to feel as if you ain't normal simply because you don't feel fireworks when the popular jocks kiss you."
"I knew that when I was thirteen, I felt it already I was great to hang out with boys all day when it came to playing ball, or telling dirty jokes or pulling pranks, but when it came to who I was attracted to sexually or emotionally, guys they just didn't do it for me. I could feel myself gravitating toward girls in ways that I didn't with boys."
"Don't let your sexual identity label you or define you—whether it be as lesbian, bisexual, asexual, or another term—how you choose to label yourself is not based on a checklist. You can still be everything you just told your parents; you can play any instrument you want to learn, you can be the best damn softball player this world's ever seen."
"Savannah, I started figuring it out at thirteen, but I didn't let myself act physically until I was 16, I kissed a girl at a party for the first time, and it was magical. Everything flowed so naturally, my body just knew what to do. I reacted to her in a way that felt right—the way I had always envisioned the first kiss to be. I tried saying I was bisexual for a quick minute and even had sex with several guys to prove that I wasn't an abomination the way the church, my family, and everyone else in this town always said gay people are. Still, I could feel myself gravitating toward girls in ways that I didn't with boys."
"Did your family accept you?"
"I don't know I never told anyone I was too scared. It was a different time back then before it got better or internet support. There were no Gay pride parades even now at forty living in NYC, a place filled with cultural and sexuality differences. I am still living in that small-town mindset. I can't tell anyone. I can't even tell the woman who I am madly in love with who I know is so accepting of people. Because I am still afraid that even with an open mind as beautiful as Olivia's, I am afraid she'll reject me."
"Savannah, I know this feels like the end of the world right now, it's not I am right by your side. I will support you; you can stay with me. Will get through this together."
"Thank you, Miss. Amanda. Thank you so much. I think you should tell this Olivia lady how you feel. Even with my parent's rejection, I feel such a weight off my chest; I feel as if I can finally breathe."
"Amanda, maybe you should listen to Savannah, she seems like a brave young lady, and I love women who are strong in body, mind, and spirit. You have a very sexy strong body, and I know your mind is sharp, so if you get some balls Amanda and tell me how you feel face to face, I think we might be able to make a beautiful connection, of our minds, souls and our bodies." Olivia's voice completely freezes every sense, emotion and body function inside of me. I can't speak, think, move or even breathe.
Did she just hear me confess my deepest feelings for her?

you know what i love about betsy's "see, i'm smiling" is that instead of yelling the "no i'm not, no i'm not" (which is a valid choice and i also love), she says it so plainly and matter of factly like "no, i'm not overreacting, this is what you do. do not gaslight me into thinking that what you're doing is okay" and that's just a fantastic choice
#my musical theatre playlist on shuffle is wild#because i was just listening to betsy sing see i'm smiling#and now i'm listening to shut up and raise your glass#post: mine#p: betsy wolfe

Joining WIP Project
I mean, I have so many WIPs, and for most of them it’s completely impossible to imagine that I’d finish within a month; these are long-range, multi-chapter WIPs. But I do have a few that could conceivably be done within a month:
Superkitty: Based on the OC I came up with when I was 4 years old and played around with until I was 12 or so. This is a children’s book, aimed at 6 - 10 years olds, about a superhero princess kitten. No, I didn’t focus group that, it’s what I came up with when I was a kid. :-) Natalie Kitty learns on her 10th birthday that her mother is the Queen-in-Exile of Kittyland, the homeland of Cats, which was overrun by the Dogs from Dogyard right around the time she and her twin sister were born, and that she is the Crown Princess. Natalie isn’t sure why she deserves to be Crown Princess when her sister is smarter and prettier, but her sister Lara doesn’t want to be a Queen someday; she wants to be a scientist. Because Natalie’s best friend is a Dog, named Arthur, she is upset with her father’s anger at Dogs, and does some research to learn that Dogyard was once a peaceful democracy but was conquered internally by a dictator called the Alpha Dog, who then led Dogyard to conquer Kittyland. Arthur’s parents are also refugees, dissidents against the Alpha Dog. So Natalie swears to fight the Alpha Dog someday and free Dogyard and Kittyland, but how can she do anything when she’s just a kitten? Then her sister reveals she’s built a machine that can give Cats superpowers, but warns Natalie that it’s really not done, not thoroughly tested, and dangerous to use. Of course, Natalie uses it anyway, and becomes Superkitty, a super-powered Cat who trains to someday fight the Alpha Dog by fighting crime in her home city, now. With the help of her mad scientist sister Lara, her voice-of-reason friend Arthur, and her little brother TJ, Natalie will protect the city, while keeping it a secret from her parents that she’s using the powers she promised them she wouldn’t use.
Judgement Day: Churchill’s Black Dog: The last time I participated in a WIP writing event, I wrote about half of this. “Churchill’s Black Dog” takes place in my Star Trek AU “Judgement Day”, where Q’s side lost the civil war in Voyager and the winners locked humanity into their solar system. This story deals with Jean-Luc Picard, suddenly transported back to LaBarre with thousands of other humans, who has to take control and try to create order and governance in a world suddenly burdened by three trillion human beings, while dealing with his anguish over what seems to be Q’s betrayal... until he learns the truth, which is that it’s Q’s enemies doing this, and Q is most likely dead. Heavily implied P/Q that’s never consummated or acknowledged at a point where both of them are alive, so this is a romantic tragedy while also being a political triumph (more or less), since Picard succeeds in helping to build a world order in intolerable conditions, while a task force he helped to gather together work to find a way to break the barrier the Q put around the solar system and free humanity again.
Bellflower: A retelling of Rapunzel in which the witch isn’t evil and has good reasons for taking the child -- the magical flowers that the child’s mother ate granted the child inhumanly powerful strength, and only a powerful mage could survive caring for a baby who can rip a person’s limbs off with a tug.
Marc Snowfrolic and the Quest for Biscuits: Part of this was posted here on Tumblr previously. Marc Snowfrolic is a citizen of Rema, a town of reverse werewolves, where the people are wolves most of the time and human under the full moon. Right now he is a wolf, but he wants a biscuit, and no one in town has opposable thumbs to bake one. So he goes to the mayor for help, and then things start getting ridiculous.
The Lair of Cat and Dragon: Also partly posted here on tumblr. Betsy is kidnapped by a dragon who is hoarding cats and has previously kidnapped cows to feed the cats milk; Betsy is supposed to be a milkmaid. Terrified cows trapped in a cave without light, grass or good water do not produce milk. Betsy has her work cut out for her getting the dragon to cooperate in getting the things the cats, cows and herself will need to survive.
The Little Red Hen: A retelling of the folk tale from the perspective that if everyone works together doing different jobs for the community’s survival, it’s kind of shitty for one person to decide that their job is the most important and if no one helps them with it they should keep what they make for themselves. Written as a kind of refutation of libertarian ideology.
Superkitty is at 9700 words and is expected to get to 15K at least if not 20K to have a completed first draft. (It’s intended for professional publication and the guidelines are that such books should be around 15K, so if it gets much larger than that I’ll have to cut a lot on the second draft.)
Churchill’s Black Dog is at 13K words and probably needs to at least double, if not triple, to finish.
Bellflower is at 3K, probably needs to double and half, so 7.5K and that means 4.5K more.
Marc Snowfrolic: 1.6K and probably needs to be at least 5K.
The Lair of Cat and Dragon: 5K. Might need to double.
The Little Red Hen: 2.2K, probably needs to double.
To get them all done would be around 47K, which works out to be 31 days at 1500 a day... so it’s possible, though unlikely.

4P2 My first foray into the True Crime arena. Formula: Just put up a single, spooky web page, that purports to be a recruitment drive for an organization whose actual existence is speculative at best and at worst is fiction presented as fact or paranoid, hysterical hand-waving in the interest of selling books and you will get all kinds of reactions. In all fairness, I think the theories mentioned read as good fantasy crime fiction and this was a conceptual attempt at that very thing. Apparently, it succeeded. The unnerving side of this was the equal amount of applications I received asking to join (Really? Join a group of underground serial killers? Really?) or outright death threats by people who really believe in such things. (Someone summed it up pretty well in this article from The Fenris Wolf)

THE BLACK BOOK Volume III, Part II
(The Black Books are considered the workbooks for The Psychopath’s Bible, which I wrote an infamous jacket blurb for.)
The Incunabula: Ong’s Hat Project [ Reviews | Interviews, etc. | Wikipedia | History] This was a ARG/Transmedia style story started in 1988 and ended in 2001. It utilized zines, BBS, early Internet, Web, CD ROM, CD Audio, DVD, print (book, graphic novel and magazine), radio, phone trees, fax, and news wire services. I gained and leveraged exposure in both the mainstream and alternative media to distribute over 2 million copies of CD ROM, ebook and print versions of the story combined. Story elements from Ong’s Hat were also included in the EA Game, Majestic which unfortunately ended prematurely due to 9/11. It was the subject of a full 4 hour show on Coast to Coast AM, been the subject of an article on the Weekly World News and been covered on many radio shows world wide, books, newspapers, magazines, etc. Links to media here.
Description: “…a bizarre Internet phenomenon: an “immersive” online experience—part mystery, part game, part who knows what—known as both the Incunabula Papers and Ong’s Hat. The Incunabula Papers/Ong’s Hat was, or is, a “many-threaded, open-ended interactive narrative” that ”weds an alternate history of chaos science and consciousness studies to conspiracy theories, parallel dimensions, and claims that computer-mediated environments can serve as magical tools…. the documents provoked a widespread “immersive legend-trip” in the late 1990s. Via Web forums, participants investigated the documents—manifestos—which spun up descriptions of brilliant but suppressed discoveries relating to paths that certain scientists had forged into alternate realities. Soon, those haunted dimensions existed in the minds and fantasies of Ong’s Hat’s many participants. That was evident as they responded to the original postings by uploading their own—all manner of reflections and artifacts: personal anecdotes, audio recordings, and videos—to augment what became “a really immersive world, and it was vast”. – The Chronicle of Higher Education—-
“Ong’s Hat was more of an experiment in transmedia storytelling than what we would now consider to be an ARG but its DNA – the concept of telling a story across various platforms and new media- is evident in every alternate reality game that came after.” – Games Magazine 2013
Though Ong’s Hat may not have set out to be an ARG, the methods by which the author interacted with participants and used different platforms to build and spread its legend has been reflected in later games. –Know Your Meme
The Incunabula Papers are arguably the first immersive online legend complex that introduced readers to a host of content, including what religious historian Robert Ellwood has called the “alternative reality tradition. – Legend-Tripping Online: Supernatural Folklore and the Search for Ong’s Hat
As a companion piece to understanding some of the history of the transmedia work that centered around Ong”s Hat you may also want to read Legend-Tripping Online: Supernatural Folklore and the Search for Ong’s Hat, reviewed here.
The Incunabula Papers CDROM was recently included in the BNF (Bibliothèque nationale de France) digital art collection.
Game Over? (currently re-vamping this for re-release)…but if you just HAVE to have it now, someone is selling one for $900 over here. 😛

3 11 15 16 49 61 65 72 87 98 99 191 214 216 -M 🏳️🌈☺️🙃🏳️🌈
Thank you girl!!! (this is going under a Read More bc it’s gonna get long as hell but I definitely appreciate the questions!!!!
3. Zodiac sign?
Cancer! (also I know the whole thing about zodiac signs being bullshit but honestly I am really sensitive so Cancer is a perfect zodiac sign for me)
11. Favorite song?
FUCK. Uhhhhhhh... I’ve been really digging this song Rich Love by One Republic (link below!!) for the past 6 months or so, so I’m going with it. (the last week it’s been Paper Rings by T Swift though!)
https://open.spotify.com/track/7dOeiXeTSfA1ixaYmQcWu7?si=zL77ZNY1RtSldz9CSnyi5A
15. Last song I listened to.
Last of the American Girls by Green Day, since I’m listening to it literally as I type this sentence lol)
16. TV show I always recommend?
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD if I know the person I’m talking to likes superhero shows. If not, my go to is Leverage!
49. Superpower I wish I could have?
OK so it’s either superspeed or aerokinesis (wind manipulation) because there was a very specific X-Men comic run I read that had a mutant whose codename was Wind Dancer and had aerokinesis as a power and if you don’t think that’s the coolest shit you’ve ever heard then get out of my face.
61. What was the last concert I went to see?
5 Seconds of Summer in Seattle! (shameless self promo for my Instagram post about it: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bopgb3hBvix/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link)
65. What fictional universe would I like to be a part of?
UHHHHHHH my knee jerk reaction is the MCU but like... so much shit happens there and also there’s no way I could date my faves so I’ll go Young Justice cartoon universe bc that’s a little bit lighter in tone and also Tim Drake is cute as fuck in that show.
72. If I won the lottery, what would I do?
First thing is go the fuck to Disneyland and take my best friends with me. After that I’d pay off people’s GoFundMes and shit. And then if I have money left over I’m sitting courtside for a Blazers game because that’s like a once in a lifetime experience. (I would say Thorns seats as close to the field as possible but that’s not that actually expensive and being so close to Emily Sonnett/Tobin Heath would cause me to pass out)
87. Favorite comic book character?
GOD DAMN IT OK. I CAN’T PICK ONE SO YOU’RE GETTING THE LIST.
DC: Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, Oliver Queen, Dinah Laurel Lance, Jon Kent, Cassie Sandsmark, Cissie King-Jones, Bart Allen, Roy Harper, Koriander, Garfield Logan, Diana Prince.
Marvel: Carol Danvers, Riri Williams, Gwen Stacy (Ghost Spider), Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, Jane Foster Thor, Squirrel Girl, Miles Morales, Karolina Dean, Nico Minoru, Chase Stein, Molly Hayes, Daisy Johnson, Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, Sam Wilson, Jessica Jones, Betsy Braddock.
98. 3 things I love?
The back to back World Cup winning US Women’s National Soccer Team, the Pokémon franchise, and Achievement Hunter.
99. 3 things I hate?
The erasure of asexual and aromantic identities as a legitimate sexual/romantic orientation, when I get infected mosquito bites on my ankles that hurt so bad I can’t walk, and when none of my family besides my mom ever ask me about my interests so I feel isolated and detached from my own family.
191. What makes me the happiest?
I’m well aware of how cliche and privileged this sounds but it honestly just is being in Disneyland.
214. What TV character am I most like?
Honestly I’ve never truly been connected to a TV character. I guess I’ll go with Stiles from like season 1 of Teen Wolf because we’re both painfully awkward and bi as hell but can’t spit it out. I literally can’t think of anyone else because I always contradict myself.
216. Favorite fictional character?
Since I couldn’t say her for the comics thing (as she’s not technically a comic book character but she’s heavily inspired by them and I love her so much I have to bring her up), I’m going with Thea Queen from the Arrow series because she’s so strong to survive all the bullshit she’s been through and I LOVE AND MISS HER DEARLY ON THE SHOW.
