Gus and Ozzy Go to the Library - A Gus/Ozzy Drabble

It was not easy for a man who walked with a cane to sneak up on Ozzy, especially in the quiet of the library, and yet Ozzy startled at the tap on his shoulder. He had thought that he was alone in the history stacks as he perused the titles on recent conflicts in South America, and that Gus was still off doing his own exploring. But suddenly Gus was behind him, and Ozzy whipped around to face him.

“You scared me,” said Ozzy, his voice low.

“Sorry,” whispered Gus, but he looked too excited to mean it. He was holding a hardcover book against his chest like it was a great, secret treasure, and he gave Ozzy a meaningful look before glancing down at it.

“What have you got there?” Ozzy asked, though he suspected he could make a guess as to its nature from the way Gus was behaving.

Gus looked from side to side, confirming no one was around, before revealing the cover. Splashed across the book’s front was the title in bold, black letters: Erotic Flogging Techniques for Beginners. “I thought you might want to read this.”

Ozzy suppressed a laugh. “You found this book just for me?”

“Yeah, it just seems like an interesting book. That, you know. You might enjoy reading.”

Ozzy took it from him and flipped the pages, and Gus once again glanced around to make sure no one could see them. “It has all sorts of information you might like,” Gus explained, blushing as Ozzy paused on a page titled ‘Increasing Sensitivity for Sensual Touch.’ “For example, just to open it up at random – ” and Gus parted the book to a page that, Ozzy noticed, had been marked with a small slip of sketchbook paper. 

Ozzy smiled to himself before taking in the illustration before him. It featured a naked man, his arms bound and his waist bent, presented helplessly for a clothed male partner who was striking him on the backside. 

It was Ozzy’s turn to blush. “Mi amor, we don't own a flogger.”

“Shhhh,” Gus hushed him as Abuela Carmen, who was deaf, shuffled down the aisle at the other end of the stacks. “We do not own a flogger yet. We could get one. For you. If you’d like.”

“And this book? I suppose that I should be the one to walk it up to the counter and check it out?”

“Well, you’re the one who wants to read it, so I feel like that’s what makes sense.” He became suddenly interested in the books behind Ozzy. “I’ll stay here. I think there’s something in this section I want to find.”

Ozzy pinched his arm affectionately and limped to Elena at her counter, keeping the book hidden at his side. He pushed it towards her, the title facedown, and Elena, with the discretion of a professional, kept her face impassive as she made a note in her ledger.

“You know,” she said, as she handed the book back to him, “Gus has been in here every couple of days to page through this volume.”

“I’m not surprised,” Ozzy murmured, and he glanced over to where Gus was peering at them from behind the bookshelf.

“Chapter 12 is particularly useful,” Elena winked. 

Ozzy smiled. “I’ll keep that in mind.” 

He waved her goodbye, and waited in the doorway as Gus appeared from his hiding place, affecting an air of nonchalance as he hobbled towards Ozzy on his cane and avoided eye contact with the librarian. Just as he reached the door, Elena called behind him. “Oh Gus,” she said. “We have the advanced edition, too. When you boys are ready for it.” 

Ozzy stifled his giggle, Gus turned scarlet, and they both walked home for an afternoon of reading.

Facepainting - A Gus/Ozzy Drabble

Gus dipped his paintbrush to pick up more indigo paint and brought the brush to Ozzy’s cheekbone. From this close, Ozzy could study every beautiful line and crease on Gus’s face. He fixated on Gus’s mouth, studying the tongue that poked between his lips in concentration, and Ozzy smiled. Gus looked so cute when he was concentrating.

“Don’t move,” Gus corrected him. Ozzy stilled his face, erasing the smile and trying instead to focus on the soft swirls of the brush on his cheeks, the delicate coolness of the paint as it was applied, the way it tightened on his skin when it dried. The attention excited him, and he was almost disappointed when Gus stepped back, tilted his head to consider him, and made one final flourish with the brush.

“There.” He put his brush down. “Beautiful.”

Ozzy went to the mirror to see the finished product. The indigo blue of his shirt and its pattern of white flowers extended up his neck and over his face, making it look like the shirt never ended. A pink rectangle cut across Ozzy’s eyes, and they stood out against the sea of blue and white.

“Oh, it’s exactly what I wanted!” Ozzy turned his head from side to side, admiring his reflection. “You’re always so good at seeing exactly what I’m describing.”

“It’s easy when you describe it so well, mi lienzo.” He sat back, pleased. Ozzy did look rather striking. “You’re going to be the envy of the whole festival.” “Only because I’ll have you on my arm.” Ozzy wafted to the open wardrobe, rifling through its contents and pulling out vibrant outfit options in Gus’s size. “You’re next, mi arcilla.”
