First Lines
@iamscoby tagged me in a post where you post your first ten lines and then spot any connections (they explained it better). Here are mine:
1.       This is the Whey (hey, that updates today!)
“What’s for dinner, daddy?”, came the little voice at his hip, half swamped in hairnets and his apron.
2.       Serendipity of You
Cobb’s parties had a Reputation, to the point where it had to be capitalised.
3.       To Run Ashore of Desert Sands (Abandoned Work – for now at least)
Nothing ever made him as uncomfortable as the Forge did.
 4.       My Big Fat Mandalorian Parents
“Oi! Froggy! Over here!”, she shouted from the car, and watched with glee as her littlest brother turned bright red and ducked his head down.
 5.       The Littlest Things
The Child came out from behind his guardian, and Luke smiled down at him, gently greeting him through a bond that would one day be as strong and natural as the one he shared with his twin and family.
 6.       Dinner for Two
The first Tuesday after the Festival of Light, Luke found himself slumped at his desk, listlessly eating a salad, and counting down the hours until he could go home.
 7.       Come Dine with Me
Craitslist Classifieds >>> THEED >>> Services >>> For Hire >>> Personal
FESTIVAL OF LIGHT PRETEND DATE – THEED AREA (40km radius)
 8.       The Buir Necessities
“We must return it to the Village.”, Ahsoka the Wise said to the group around her. “It does not belong here, no matter how much we do not wish to go to where they are.”.
 9.       If We’d Known What We Know Now
These meetings only got longer and more frequent, Luke thought as yet another stuffy Senator droned on about some issue they were having with a Mid-Rim sector.
 10.   Getting It On Never Used to be This Hard
He held Grogu close as Din washed the plates from dinner, cuddling the little boy as he babbled and waved his toy in Luke’s face.
Patterns:
1. I hate choosing a first line. I normally just start writing, and the first line is the one that gets over-refined.
2. Din POV has shorter first lines, Luke POV longer. Not sure if that’s a pattern across the board, but it seems to be here.
3. I am extremely harsh on myself and struggle to say anything positive, but I do enjoy writing these fics even if they’re imperfect.
I don’t really know who to tag, so I’ll be That Person and say if you want to do it, do!
