OnePlus 8 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20+ vs iPhone 11 Pro Max: Price, Specifications Compared
New Post has been published on https://magzoso.com/tech/oneplus-8-pro-vs-samsung-galaxy-s20-vs-iphone-11-pro-max-price-specifications-compared/
OnePlus 8 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20+ vs iPhone 11 Pro Max: Price, Specifications Compared
Tumblr media
OnePlus 8 Pro on Tuesday made its debut through a global online event and the phone comes with 120Hz Fluid Display and a quad rear camera setup. The phone was launched alongside the OnePlus 8, and both these phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with better specifications than the OnePlus 8, and it will be going against the Apple and Samsung flagships in the market.
This new OnePlus phone will compete with the Samsung Galaxy S20+ and iPhone 11 Pro Max in the smartphone market. We pit the three phones against each other to see how the OnePlus 8 Pro fares, at least on paper.
OnePlus 8 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20+ vs iPhone 11 Pro Max: Price in India
OnePlus 8 Pro is priced at $899 (roughly Rs. 68,400) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option, and $999 (roughly Rs. 76,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. The phone comes in Onyx Black, Glacial Green, and Ultramarine Blue colour options. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ was launched with a price tag of Rs. 73,999 and comes in Cloud Blue, Cosmic Black, Cosmic Gray colour options. Interestingly, the phone is listed on the Croma site for Rs. 77,900, and this may be due to the recent GST hike from 12 percent to 18 percent.
Apple also recently revised the price of the iPhone 11 Pro Max and it now retails at Rs. 1,17,100 for the base 64GB variant. The 256GB model of the phone is priced at Rs. 1,31,900 and the 512GB option can be grabbed at Rs. 1,50,800. iPhone 11 Pro Max comes in Gold, Midnight Green, Silver, and Space Grey colour options.
OnePlus 8 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20+ vs iPhone 11 Pro Max: Specifications Compared
The OnePlus 8 Pro runs on Android 10-based OxygenOS software, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S20+ also runs on Android 10-based OneUI software. The iPhone 11 Pro Max, on the other hand, runs on iOS 13. The OnePlus 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch (1,440×3,168 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 513ppi pixel density, and 19.8:9 aspect ratio. The iPhone 11 Pro Max packs a larger 6.5‑inch (1,242×2,688 pixels) Super Retina XDR OLED HDR with 458ppi of pixel density, and 800 nits of peak brightness. The Samsung Galaxy S20+, on the other hand, features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1,440×3,200 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, with 525ppi pixel density, 120Hz refresh rate, and an Infinity-O hole-punch design. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a cutout for the selfie camera in the top centre of the phone, while the OnePlus 8 Pro places the cutout on the top left of the screen. The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a wide notch to house all the front sensors.
The OnePlus 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage option. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ also offers up to 12GB RAM, but the internal storage options go up to 512GB. The Samsung phone is powered by the Exynos 990 SoC in India, but in some regions, the phone ships with Snapdragon 865 SoC. Lastly, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is powered by the Apple’s A13 Bionic chip with the third-gen Neural Engine. It comes in three storage variants – 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. However, there is no word on the amount of RAM.
As for the cameras, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a quad camera setup with a 48-megapixel shooter (f/1.78 aperture), an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide angel camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel colour filter camera with f/2.4 aperture. Up front, the phone has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.45 aperture and screen flash.
The Galaxy S20+ features four rear cameras as well – but it includes 12-megapixel wide-angle shooter with f/1.8 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.0 aperture, and a fourth depth camera. The selfie camera includes a 10-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 lens.
Lastly, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a triple camera setup on the back – it houses three 12-megapixel image sensors that are accompanied by f/1.8 wide-angle, f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle, and f/2.4 telephoto lenses. There is a 12-megapixel selfie shooter on the front as well.
OnePlus packs 4,510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T fast charging and Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charging support. Samsung Galaxy S20+ houses an almost similar 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and reverse wireless charging. Apple hasn’t released the battery capacity on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but it says that the phone provides the “longest battery life in an iPhone” with up to 5 hours more than the iPhone XS Max.
All three phones support dual-SIM connectivity. The OnePlus 8 Pro measures 165.3×74.35×8.5mm and weighs 199 grams. The iPhone 11 Pro Max measures 158×77.80×8.10mm and weighs 226 grams. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S20+ is the thinnest and lightest measuring at 161.90×73.70×7.80mm and weighing at 186 grams. OnePlus and Samsung phones includes USB Type-C port, and Apple packs Lightning port. The OnePlus 8 Pro also features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, just like the other two phones in this comparison.

iPhone SE (2020) vs. OnePlus 8: Does Value Beat Beauty?
Apple has announced a new iPhone SE. Initially released in March 2016, the first-generation iPhone SE combined an iPhone 5s body with iPhone 6s hardware, making it a smaller and more affordable version of Apple’s flagship smartphone of the time. Now, the new second-generation iPhone SE does much the same. It takes the dimensions and design of the iPhone 8 and adds the A13 Bionic processor from the iPhone 11, making it more powerful than the older model.
Priced at $400, it’s one of the cheapest ways of getting your hands on cutting-edge mobile specs. That said, it isn’t the only affordable-yet-powerful smartphone on the market. One other phone worth a look is the OnePlus 8. It’s $300 more expensive than the iPhone SE, but with more up-to-date hardware and two additional camera lenses, it arguably provides extra bang for your buck.
Is it better than the new iPhone SE? Well, we’ve put both phones head-to-head, comparing how they fare across a number of categories. This should help you decide which is the smartphone for you.

Design, display, and durability
The iPhone SE isn’t the most attractive smartphone Apple has ever produced. Yes, it recreates a tried-and-true design, but it’s also a design that has been superseded and rendered obsolete by everything from the iPhone X onwards. Like the iPhone 8 before it, it features fairly thick chin and forehead bezels, while its physical Home button now seems like an anachronism. By contrast, the OnePlus 8 boasts a virtually all-screen display that’s interrupted only by the punch hole selfie camera at the top. It simply looks more streamlined and stylish, with a curved screen and edges.
It gets worse for the iPhone SE, since its fairly standard 4.7-inch LCD display isn’t nearly as sharp and as fluid as the OnePlus 8’s 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED touchscreen. With a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, the OnePlus 8 provides roughly 402 pixels per inch, while the iPhone SE can provide a resolution of only 750 x 1334 pixels, which works out at 326ppi. The OnePlus 8 also offers much livelier colors and more definition.
Still, the iPhone SE does a good job at its price range, coming with an IP67 rating. This means it can survive brief drops into water, which isn’t something that can be said for the OnePlus 8, which is only splash-proof.
That quibble aside, it’s not at all controversial to say that the OnePlus 8 is better looking than the iPhone SE and that its screen will delight you more than Apple’s smartphone. For these two reasons, it’s a win for the OnePlus 8.
Winner: OnePlus 8
Performance, battery life, and charging
Andy Boxall/DigitalTrends.com
The iPhone SE may not look all that great, but it happens to come with Apple’s A13 Bionic processor. For those who don’t know, this is the processor used in the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, meaning that the sensibly-priced iPhone SE is the smartphone equivalent of a Mini running on a Ferrari engine. Based on the performance of the iPhone 11 range, it’s safe to say that the iPhone SE will be impressively quick.
Nonetheless, the OnePlus 8 is no slouch, coming with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, depending on which version you buy. Even with the smaller 8GB, it still comfortably dwarfs the iPhone SE’s 3GB. However, Android and iOS use RAM differently, so don’t put too much weight on that.
In terms of battery life, it also looks like another narrow win for the OnePlus 8. We haven’t been able to spend much time with the new iPhone SE yet, but it’s reasonable to expect the SE to last about a day without needing a recharge, given Apple’s track record. The OnePlus 8’s battery is much larger at 4,300mAh compared to 1,821mAh. It will last more than a day without recharging, even with fairly heavy use. In addition, it allows 30W fast charging, although only the iPhone SE is capable of charging wirelessly.
Taken together, this all indicates that the OnePlus 8 will offer better performance, despite the iPhone SE’s surprisingly powerful hardware for such an affordable phone.
Winner: OnePlus 8
Cameras
Andy Boxall/Digital Trends
On paper, the OnePlus 8 trumps the iPhone SE in the camera department. On its rear, it features a 48MP wide camera, a 16MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The iPhone SE, for its part, can offer only a single 12MP rear camera. To be fair, this is a perfectly good rear camera, having previously served the iPhone 8, which was state-of-the-art in 2017. Compared to the OnePlus 8’s three rear cameras, it doesn’t really cut the mustard, taking photographs that aren’t quite as detailed or as dynamic.
Luckily, the iPhone SE does allow for 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, just like the OnePlus 8. This is quite impressive, really, and with the promise of Smart HDR and other camera software, it might turn out that the SE holds its own photographically when we write up its final review. For now, it’s likely the OnePlus 8 provides a better camera by all objective criteria.
Winner: OnePlus 8
Software and updates
Andy Boxall/Digital Trends
Software is a tough one to call since some people prefer one or the other. As such, the question of whether the iPhone SE or the OnePlus 8 has better software will depend on which operating system you’re more used to.
Having said that, it’s worth pointing out that the OnePlus 8 runs on OnePlus’ own OxygenOS 10.5 system, which is built on Android 10. It’s an excellent system featuring a slick design and interface. However, it comes with a couple of tiny annoyances, such as the lack of a settings search and the absence of an always-on display. If such things are important to you, you may end up liking OxygenOS 10.5 a bit less.
It would be churlish to say that the iPhone SE’s software is better than the OnePlus 8’s because of this. The difference is minimal — which it isn’t where updates are concerned. OnePlus is fast to update, but not as fast as Apple. The iPhone SE is likely to get a lot of updates a lot quicker.
Winner: iPhone SE
Special features
The iPhone SE’s special feature is that it packages a new processor in an old body. In other words, it doesn’t really have a special feature, particularly when it gets rid of the iPhone 11’s TrueDepth selfie camera and Face ID. Don’t really expect anything special about it, other than that it’s the first affordable Apple smartphone in a long time.
Sadly, something similar could actually be said for the OnePlus 8. It’s a very solid, attractive, and reliable phone, but as we wrote in our full review, it also lacks a standout feature. It does everything very well, but without really distinguishing itself from the crowd. For a smartphone that costs either $300 or $400 more than the iPhone SE (depending on how much RAM you want), this is arguably a fatal flaw.
Since both smartphones are basically cheaper versions of more premium models, we’re going to call this a tie as well.
Winner: Tie
Price and availability
The OnePlus 8 is currently available for $700 (for the model with 8GB of RAM) or $800 (for the 12GB model). Aside from OnePlus’ own website, it will be available to order on Amazon, T-Mobile, and Verizon from April 29 onwards.
The iPhone SE (2020) is available for pre-order and will be released on April 24. It costs $400 for the 128GB version, while the 256GB model will set you back $550. It will be available from a wide range of outlets, including AT&T, Best Buy, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Walmart, and Xfinity Mobile.
Overall winner: iPhone SE
In terms of sheer performance, the OnePlus 8 is the better smartphone. However, its performance isn’t so far ahead of the iPhone SE‘s that we can safely say it’s the better phone overall, particularly when price is taken into account. Since we’re mostly talking about both phones in terms of the value for money they offer, it has to be said that the iPhone SE is the better choice. It can be bought for $400, while the cheapest you can buy the OnePlus 8 for is $700. This $300 difference will be a big deal to most people, and when you consider the fact that the iPhone SE is basically an iPhone 11 with bezels and a less powerful camera, it becomes even more significant.
If you have an extra $300 to spare, go for the OnePlus 8. If you’re looking to save money, you’d be very hard pushed to do better than the iPhone SE.

OnePlus 6 specs: Notch display, tons of storage, but still no IP rating https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUNxd948LC0 OnePlus phones traditionally have the most top-of-the-line specs on the market — last year’s OnePlus 5T came with the latest Snapdragon processor and up to 8GB of RAM. So, it should come as no surprise that the OnePlus 6 specs are some of the best that you can get in early 2018. You can see the official OnePlus 6 specs below: OnePlus 6 Display 6.28-inch AMOLED 2,280 x 1,080 resolution 19:9 aspect ratio Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Supports sRGB, DCI-P3 SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-core, 10nm, up to 2.8GHz GPU Adreno 630 RAM 6/8GB LPDDR4X Storage 64/128/256GB UFS 2.1 2-lane MicroSD No Cameras Rear cameras Main: 16MP Sony IMX 519 sensor with 1.22μm pixels, OIS, EIS, ƒ/1.7 aperture Secondary: 20MP Sony IMX 376K sensor with 1.0μm pixels, ƒ/1.7 aperture Dual LED flash Video: 4K at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60fps, 720p at 30fps, Super Slow Motion video at 1080p Front camera: 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor with 1.0μm pixels, EIS, ƒ/2.0 aperture Audio Bottom-firing speaker Dirac HD Sound Dirac Power Sound Battery 3,300mAh Non-removable Dash Charge (5V 4A) Wireless charging No IP rating No Sensors Fingerprint Hall Accelerometer Gyroscope Proximity Ambient light Electronic compass Sensor hub Ports USB Type-C (USB 2.0) USB audio support 3.5mm headphone jack Network LTE: Supports 4xCA Supports 64QAM, 256QAM, up to DL CAT 16 (1Gbps)/UL CAT 13 (150Mbps) depending on carrier support Bands: FDD LTE: Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/32/66/71 TDD-LTE: Bands 34/38/39/40/41 TD-SCDMA: Bands 34/39 UMTS (WCDMA): Bands 1/2/4/5/8/9/19 CDMA: BC0/BC1 GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz Connectivity Wi-Fi: 2x2 MIMO, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4G/5G Bluetooth 5.0 aptX/aptX HD support NFC GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo SIM Dual nano SIM Software Android 8.1 Oreo OxygenOS Dimensions and weight 155.7 x 75,4 x 7.75mm 177g Colors mirror black, midnight black, silk white Let’s begin with the biggest change from last year’s phone — the screen. The screen itself isn’t anything new, though OnePlus has, somewhat controversially, adopted the iPhone X-like notch for the OnePlus 6. Some people won’t mind it, most won’t like it, and you can even hide it if it bugs you that much. The AMOLED display itself measures 6.28 inches, comes with a 2,280 x 1,080 resolution, and has a tall aspect ratio of 19:9. One thing that’s also changed this time around is the new glass design. Unfortunately OnePlus didn’t include wireless charging support with the switch to glass, nor did it include an IP rating. OnePlus said it focused on designing a phone that’s water resistant for “everyday occasions, rather than for extreme scenarios.” This was likely done to help keep the cost down, but that still won’t go over well with some Android Authority readers. The OnePlus 6 is a beast under the hood. It comes with the powerful Snapdragon 845 SoC, along with 6 or 8GB of RAM. There’s no microSD card support, but OnePlus is offering the phone in 64, 128, and 256GB storage variants. The OnePlus 6 camera setup has improved only slightly from the 5T. This year’s device has a dual 16 and 20MP camera setup around back. The secondary 20MP sensor is unchanged from the 5T, but the primary lens has been upgraded to a Sony IMX 519 sensor and has larger 1.22μm pixels, as opposed to the 5T’s 1.12μm pixels. It also has the same front-facing camera from before. Pre-order the OnePlus 6 now What do you think of the OnePlus 6 specs? Anything you’d like changed, or is this your perfect phone? Will The OnePlus 2 Live Up To The Hype Of OnePlus One? Smartphones have come to a long manner and nowadays, it’s far all a fair gambling discipline. Novices and beginners such as OnePlus and Huawei have proved that it is hard however not possible to go into the ranks and consume away at the income of household names like Samsung and Apple. However, manufacturers have found out that there’s more to the cell phone than sincerely its specs, as even the launch and advertising approach ought to be new and groundbreaking. Accordingly, the brand new OnePlus 2 cell phone seems to work difficult at checking all the proper bins for all the right motives.
In other words, although now not the actual device, the launch of the OnePlus 2 is already creating a large buzz. People are all over this device and are lapping up all the teases that the OnePlus team is throwing at them. The OnePlus 2 remains almost a month far away from release, but people everywhere, from forums to various tech websites at the Internet just cannot get enough of this phone, with rumors concerning the OnePlus 2 specs floating all around the web space.
When the OnePlus One became introduced, people could not agree with that this smartphone become supplying practically the entirety someone ought to need in a smartphone at such an implausible charge. Many competition to start with shrugged off the hype, saying that the very last product wouldn’t stay as much as it in terms of excellent and consumer enjoy. After all, who may want to believe a debut handset from an ambitious Chinese begins up? However, the OnePlus crew proved that this become indeed a smartphone that changed into a force to reckon with. In order to gauge and mood the initial excitement, the OnePlus One become available solely thru an invite. This awesome approach no longer most effective prevented losses due to overproduction and over stocking however it also ensured that the exhilaration stage did not decline. What’s greater, on the way to maintain the occasional frustration of loss of invite in check, OnePlus might release occasional sale dates, like during holidays or other events, when the device could be to be had without an invitation.
In the quit, it’s going to all boil down to the OnePlus 2 specifications, as currently, all of the information available is nothing however rumors. The expected release is meant to in the end put a cease to all the hypothesis on the 27th of July. What’s greater, OnePlus has opted for an innovative VR launch of the device, so that everybody from any a part of the sector can feel protected in the launch. OnePlus has also released a greater delicate version of the Google cardboard box, that allows you to make the whole system of the OnePlus 2 telephone launch extra fun and sensible.
Does the OnePlus 3T Justify the Premium? Android buyers who have had their hearts set on getting themselves a OnePlus3 for Christmas have had their plans thrown into a tailspin by means of the truth that OnePlus went and discontinued the model some weeks returned. What become leaked online as a rumour that there might be a higher end model of the OnePlus3 grew to become out to be a directly up alternative of what continues to be one of the most up to date, maximum vaunted and most wanted telephones of 2016, on the Android side of the fence as a minimum. It’s hard to mention what make the organization truly pull such an audacious move.
OnePlus is a fairly young emblem that is nonetheless suffering for reputation in a number of the largest markets in the world and in some markets, it’s far handiest now becoming a widely known emblem and that too, best amongst the most hardcore Android enthusiasts and fans. While their first telephone become famous the OnePlus 2 became visible as quite of a miss. It is simplest with the OnePlus3 that OnePlus managed to create a sincerely excellent telephone stage tool that had a killer fee tag. Since the OnePlus3 became launched barely six months ago and has in no way ever been easy to be had, many question the wisdom of phasing the smartphone out in favor of a substitute so soon.
For people who have been making plans to buy a OnePlus3 and had been stretching their budget to have the funds for it, the statement of the better priced OnePlus 3T may also come as a little bit of an unhappiness, however, the rate upward push is small enough as a percentage that it should be something that maximum ability customers need to be capable of manipulate. For folks that cherished the layout and the dimensions of the OnePlus3, there is properly news.
The OnePlus 3T is exactly the equal smartphone externally and all add-ons and instances for it predecessor have to work simply perfect as OnePlus 3T instances and add-ons as well. For capacity customers who discovered the layout of the OnePlus3 a chunk too understated for his or her tastes, there’s already big surroundings of designer cases on the way to in shape the OnePlus 3T simply fine, way to the fact the OnePlus3 changed into such an extremely popular smartphone. Even if you need a custom OnePlus 3T case, it is without problems available on the day of the phone’s launch; in reality, buy a OnePlus3 custom case and snap it right on!
So what does the OnePlus 3T buyer get for the little more that they’ve to spend for the new cell phone? Well first off and most significantly, in our opinion at least, is a far large battery. The ‘old’ OnePlus3 has a 3000 mAh battery that now and again struggles to get via a protracted day. With the OnePlus 3T, OnePlus has executed some engineering magic to fit in a battery this is extra than 13% larger into a telephone that is exactly the identical size. So the OnePlus 3T now receives via a day pretty effortlessly, thanks to its 3400 mAh battery.
