The real reason why genocide is impossible in Underfell

Asgore failed to get a single soul, since they were all swallowed up on the way by traitor monsters. Each traitor challenged the king, but eventually lost and was publicly executed. So yes. Asgore hasn't human’s souls. However, he only needs one, because he wants to take revenge on humanity as soon as possible

Papyrus wants to capture power in the Underground But why risk your life for power? After all, Asgore is very dangerous. Why does Papyrus need a coup? Well, who said that power is the main motive.  This is mainly due to psychological things. Both skelebros hate Asgore for they had to hide in the past. And the king killed Gaster, depriving Sans of father, and Papyrus a chance to kill him. Pap was betrayed by father in childhood so he don't want feels under control now. Papyrus projects his hatred for Gaster on Asgore, plus his ego suffers greatly from the fact that he serves someone, yes, everything is so bad. He literally can not live without this coup, he really needs to close the gestalt and to revenge. The lives and future of the skelebros are in constant danger. Sans is a powerful animal-like weapon that Asgore would like to have on a short leash and use for his needs, in the worst case sans will simply be sent to the genocide where he will die. But Papyrus is the only one who can control this weapon. Papyrus is in danger, because he is the only one who can control Sans, so he poses a threat to Asgore and a useful guard at the same time. So other important reason is self-defense.

Papyrus and Grillby are very worried and looking for disappeared Sans.

A child who fell to stay...
