When some lousy human drama went down just this year, an acquaintance stepped in to mediate, saying that a lot of this shit could be worked out very nicely if we all just met up at a mamak somewhere, had drinks and eats together, and could talk face to face. it might sound like something out of a hallmark movie but this is honestly a crucial thing imo. yea. probably if we'd met that way, remembered its a human being we're talking to, bonded over small everyday things that reminded ourselves of that humanness, it would've gone a lot better. i feel sad about that situation and how the divides of our nation became more pronounced and much more easy to manipulate after we became wired
