That being said Sabrina's always reminded me of myself back in middle school so this episode of her learning the same lesson I did (the shitty ppl u obsessively follow around all day will not treat u better no matter how nice u r to them or how hard u follow them around) was nice to see in a weird way

Man I know Marinette had Adrien tunnel vision but she rly was rude and dismissive to Sabrina when she arrived for the sleepover? Like idk felt a bit ooc for me

I'm glad Adrien feels comfy saying no to Marinette sometimes, he's always been a chronic people pleaser so to see him state why he thinks maris idea is bad and then refuse to go along with it is good development for him

Ayyyy Max's skin color doesn't randomly change whenever he turns into pegasus anymore yay for the new models

I’m so goddamn tired of background radiation fatphobia. I got Hades, since it’s all over the place and Supergiant Games’ stuff is pretty dependably a good time. And it’s just…. really struck me how out of all the intricately ovedesigned characters in the game, there doesn’t seem to be a single fat person. Unless you count generic enemy no.3, described in-game as the ghosts of “prodigious, boorish entities, who doubtless were intolerable even when they lived”. I fucking hate it here. I can’t stop thinking “this game hates me, and it doesn’t even have the decency to realize it hates me”. I entertained the thought of redesigning some of the characters but I’m not sure I want to produce fanart for this thing.

Which is not to say Hades is uniquely fatphobic or anything. This is such standard shit I bet for most people it doesn’t register. I bet for the developers it didn’t register. But I’m so sick of this casual, unconscious fatphobia. I’m so sick of getting stuck trying to derive enjoment from media that treats me as subhuman. I’m sick of having to put walls up and assume everyone and everything is fatphobic unless proven otherwise. I’m just so sick of it.

Addendum to the Hades thing: being fat is extremely isolating.

In media I consume, I’m lucky if there’s one fat character who’s even remotely salvageable (I’ll genuinely take Roadhog or Ursula the Sea Witch over nothing) or if it’s not in a visual medium that there’s enough leeway to interpret a character as fat in a positive way.

Among small internet creators, it often seems I’m the only one making the kind of representation I want to see. There’s people making dozens upon dozens of unique ocs, all with unique designs and backstories, all of them thin. And obviously it’s not my place to tell anyone how to do their own hobbies, but I can’t help feeling tired and alone with my tiny pile of fat positive - scratch that, fat neutral art that no one but me seems to care about.

So again, I’m not saying Hades is in any way exceptional or even noteworthy in its fatphobia. It’s completely bog standard. It’s made of the exact same kind of shit I’ve had to slog my way through my entire life. Just like every anime whose array of unique and creative character designs don’t include a single fat person, just like every disney movie relegating fat people to comic relief, just like the whole goddamn world. And i can’t do anything about it, but I can at least hate it with all the vitriol I can muster. Fuck this.

This is so frustrating and I can relate to this entire submission. Why can’t game creators make fat characters. Also why can’t fan creators respect fat bodies? Why can’t people just see our bodies as valuable as thin ones when making media? 

I am so tired by this. And I’m so disappointed in this game because I love some Greek Pantheon inspired media.
