(Indeed he might be. Since Minions, guessingly, live forever, why is he shown to be so helpless? There are possibly 2 ideas:

1. The Minions who cared for him were too depressed to help him anymore.

Or

2. Due to strong depression, Bob lost his will to take care of himself.

It's possibly more strongly of 1. Since Bob probably lost his Minion caretakers due to intense depression. Leaving Kevin as his replacement.)

Theory: Kevin is Bob's Guardian in the prequel.

(I have a theory(Or supposedly, headcanon) that Kevin could possibly be Bob’s caretaker. If you want to hear more about it below the cut, you are free to so so.

Fair note that this is just an idea I've been having. I felt that I wanted to bring it out and see what others think about it.

Clue #1: Kevin is almost always next to Bob. This comes in strongly a lot. Including with tons of images online.

The Tree Light ceremony. This one is an obvious one. Notice how Kevin is right next to Bob the entire time that they perform.

The one here, where they’re at the canal boat. Why is this? Well, maybe its because that Kevin wanted to be near Bob and make sure he doesn’t fall off the boat. Since he is shown to be a great guardian here. Why do I think this?

Clue #2: Kevin shows a lot more care to Bob than usual.

Because of this image. Do you see the context? Kevin looks here that he’s trying to defend Bob. Possibly from some traffic. Kevin probably didn’t want Bob to end too far off. Notice how Kevin does this in a calm and trusting way. Like how a calm guardian should act.

Kevin’s various caring things he’s done for Bob while they were on their journey. Holding hands, and piggy back riding. Kevin looks as if he was being too nice to Bob. But really, right here, shows that he’s trying to keep Bob as comfortable as he could. Since he was scared at first, after all. That’s what a good caretaker does; try and make their feel comfortable whenever they’re scared.

Clue #3: What about Stuart, tho?

Well, Kevin would be the busiest. Due to being the leader of the trio, no? Maybe he he chose a backup to care for Bob while he's busy. And with Stuart being portrayed as a 'teenager', Stuart takes it in. Since some teenagers are allowed to babysit kids once in a while. Which sounds pretty useful.

And that's about it for now. I might update this when I get more info. It's alright if you disagree. This is a theory I've been having for quite a while and I thought I'd spill it out.)
