[IT'S ALWAYS BEEN YOU] - ft. knight! iwaizumi hajime
warnings/content: princess! reader x knight/personal guard! iwa, royal au, arranged marraige, angst. One more after this!
wc: 2.1k
part 5. directory here.
--
With Hajime gone, the days fly by. Before you know it, the wedding is set to take place in a week. Your family will be arriving in a few days and will stay to attend the ceremony to be held in the Nekoma castle. There’s no need for you to lift a single finger. Your dress, itinerary, dinner, guest list were all prepared by the maids in the manor. And that was fine because this is not the wedding you always fantasized about anyway. There is no use in stressing over the details.
What you are excited for, however, is seeing your older brother again. While all the knights and courtesans in Nekoma are kind, you miss your family.
And despite your father’s brutishness, you do miss him. After the union, you know your opportunities to see him will be few and far in between.
And it goes without saying, but your sore heart aches for your knight. Iwaizumi may have broken your heart, but you would be lying if you said you did not miss him. You have already long resigned to the fact that you will love him forever, silly as that may be. At least once an hour, he double crosses your mind and the next 10 minutes will be spent thinking of him, a deadly mix of daydreaming about his smile and bracing yourself to keep it together when you see him again.
Thus, the days are spent lounging alone in the gardens with a cup of tea and untouched pastries. Sir Kenma and Sir Kai have long given up on checking in on you when the faraway look glazes over your eyes. Most of them, sharp and cunning, have seen right through you, knowing of your feelings for your ex-personal knight. They used to sit with you to keep you company, but that does little to soothe the loneliness that seeps through your bones. So they have learned to give you space. After all, they have the rest of this lifetime to get to know their future queen. The days go by in a blur and before you know it, the day of your family’s arrival comes.
You expect a summon to dinner that night, but none comes. You arrive at the dining room as you do every night and find it completely empty save for some of the maids. When you ask about the Aoba Johsai entourage and the usual Nekoma attendees, the maids only shake their heads. You have dinner alone and wander through the halls in hopes of running into some familiar faces, but the castle hallways are silent and empty. After a dragged out tour of the entire building, including the outdoor gardens, you reluctantly give up on your search.
Much to your disappointment, the next two days pass similarly. With the exception of Prince Kuroo having breakfast with you, the only human interaction you receive is from the servants. And with that, the day of your wedding arrives.
~•~
The morning greets you with bright sun and beautiful weather, blue skies and not a cloud in  sight, perfect for an early summer wedding. Strangely, not a single maid disrupts your sleep, even after the additional half hour you spend lounging in bed. You decide to get up to find some breakfast and hopefully some company.
When you push your bedroom door open, two familiar figures standing guard on either side of your doorway turn to face you.
“Slept in on your big day, eh, Princess?” the first one teases.
“Pretty heartless of you,” the second one jokes.
“Mattsun! Makki!” you exclaim, wrapping each of them in a hug. “What are you two doing here?”
They chuckle warmly, patting you on the back and reciprocating the embrace.
“We’re here to be your escorts before it’s time to prepare for the ceremony,” Sir Hanamaki explains.
“Shall we have breakfast in the garden today?” Sir Matsukawa offers.
“Where’s Toru and my parents? Am I not going to see them before the wedding?”
“‘Fraid not, Princess. They’ve been busy dealing with some diplomatic shit apparently,” Hanamaki responds carelessly.
“Makki!” you exclaim at his inappropriate language. You have missed that.
“You’ll see them soon enough,” Matsukawa covers. “Well?” he prompts, offering you a crooked elbow.
You slip either arm through each of their proffered elbows and practically skip your way to the gardens.
Breakfast is a pleasant affair as the two catch you up on things you have missed at home. They go through a list of people and their respective updates, including your Father, Mother, Toru, Kindaichi, Kunimi, and all the others.
They tactfully keep Iwaizumi off the list and while you are undeniably curious, it may just be better off not knowing. It may even be better that he does not come to the wedding at all. You keep those thoughts to yourself.
After breakfast, they escort you straight back to your room after turning down your request to take a walk in the gardens.
“No can do, Princess.” Matsukawa declines.
“Don’t want you to run into any surprises, you know?” Hanamaki says cryptically.
Once back in your room, you’re left again to your own devices until lunchtime. At exactly noon, a knock sounds at your door. Without waiting for your permission, the door opens and you are greeted by another face you have missed dearly.
“Toru!” you exclaim, running over to your brother to tackle him in a hug.
He lets out a grunt as he catches the impact of your body, giving you an easy spin before setting you back down.
“Why haven’t I seen you since you’ve arrived?”
“I’m sorry. There’s been some… situations I have needed to deal with since arriving.”
He puts a strange emphasis on situations, but you do not question it. After all, diplomatic matters have always been more of Toru’s responsibility than yours.
“I wish we had more time to catch up,” your brother says, “but I have to ask you some questions now.” His eyes show a seriousness unbefitting of your whimsical brother, his voice solemn.
“Okay,” you agree hesitantly.
“I need to know if you still love Iwaizumi after all this time.”
You recoil at the question, surprised by the question and baffled by the relevance of the topic at this stage.
“Don’t think about anything else. Just be honest with me, as my little sister whose happiness I wish for. Be honest with yourself.”
“Yes,” you whisper. “I do still love him, and I think I always will. You may not know but Prince Kuroo and I… we agreed to…” you trail off, not sure how to explain the situation in a way that will not upset your brother.
He surprises you by nodding in understanding. “I know. I know what you and the Prince agreed to. And don’t,” he pauses a bit here, as if searching for the correct words.
“Don’t overthink what I’m about to ask, okay?”
You nod.
“If you had the chance, would you still want to be with Iwa? Forget all the circumstances. Do you still long to be with him?”
Your answer is easy. A tear escapes your eyes as you respond, “if he and I could simply exist as ourselves, and not as our titles, then yes. I do.”
Your brother smiles then. He gives you one more hug and something about the look in his eyes tells you not to ask anymore questions. You return his embrace, allowing yourself to cry silently in his arms. You don’t know how long the two of you stand there like that, only separating when another knocks sounds at the door.
It’s the maids, ready to prepare you for the ceremony.
Toru releases you, holding both of your shoulders steady. He leans down, face-to-face with you. “Don’t lose faith,” he says quietly, wiping the swiping tears from your cheeks.
~•~
When Toru leaves, the maids enter, but instead of the Nekoma maids you have become accustomed to, it is your old maids and good friends, Rose and Marie.
They are quick to gather you into a tight embrace, exclaiming about how you have lost weight and mildly reprimanding you for crying your eyes swollen on such a big day.
With little time to catch up, they prepare you, adorning you with ribbons, flowers, and jewelry, all while chattering away in their comforting voices. When you slip into your dress and finally see yourself in the mirror, a strange calm washes over you. The same calm that has developed in the days you spent daydreaming in the Nekoma gardens. The same calm that covers your consciousness in a blissful haze. The same calm that makes you feel like you are looking at someone else in your body.
It’s only as Rose and Marie join you on either side, admiring you through the mirror with tears in their eyes that you blink back into the moment.
“You are so beautiful, Princess,” Rose sniffles.
“We are so proud of you,” Marie adds.
You smile at them, fighting the urge to cry again and ruin all their hard work.
“And remember,” they say. “You are destined for happiness. No matter how this day ends. Now, you must go, Princess.”
This day has been nothing short of cryptic messages, but they are right. Outside, the sun is just beginning to lower itself onto the horizon and the sunset is a summon for you to be at the Grand Hall. You give your friends one last hug and a whispered “thank you,” before making your way out.
~•~
At your arrival, the large double doors open to reveal an intricately decorated setup, but sparsely filled. The number of attendees is incredibly few for a wedding of royal caliber. As practiced, you walk down the aisle, vision blurred by the veil covering your face. When you arrive at the front of the room, Prince Kuroo is not at the altar, as he was during the practice sessions. And instead of an ordained priest behind the altar, your father and Queen Kuroo stand in that place. You see the monarchs of each kingdom holding their stern expressions, but as you meet your fathers gaze through your veil, you see a kind look in his eyes, one you have not seen since you were a child. He gives you a small nod and in spite of your confusion, you proceed.
Your destination is on the small elevated stage by the altar. You take the 2 small steps up, dragging the train of your dress behind you and turn around to face the guests. As you finally get a good glimpse of all the attendees, you notice that Hajime is nowhere in sight. On the Nekoma side of the hall, the first chair closest to the stage is vacant. You are not sure who is missing from the Nekoma side save for your absent fiance.
The first to speak is Queen Kuroo, as you hear her begin to announce her son.
“Announcing: Representative of the Royal Family Kuroo, Prince of Nekoma, and future heir to the throne, my son, Kuroo Testuro.”
At the very end of the hall, the curtains are drawn and you see the Prince enter, walking down the same carpet you did just moments ago. However, instead of alighting the steps to join you on stage, he stands on the ground directly in front of you. He does not turn around to face the guests. You give him a questioning look and he just grins like he knows something you do not, though it seems more and more like everyone knows something about today that you do not.
Next, you hear your father clear his throat. His next words make you turn your back to the audience to make sure you hear him correctly.
“Announcing: Captain of the Aoba Johsai Royal Order of Knights,”
Your breath catches.
“And future heir to the Dukedom of the Iwaizumi estate, Iwaizumi Hajime.”
You swivel around abruptly enough that your veil slides out of position. Your obscured vision only sees a flurry of motion at the end of the hall. You see the curtain at the back of the hall pulled back to reveal a figure you dare not register as familiar, though it is one that you have watched and chased after for as long as you remember. Your vision grows hazy and you don’t know if it’s tears or the veil. So you pull the veil right off, not trusting your covered eyes.
At the other end of the carpet, is Iwaizumi Hajime, not in his usual armor, but dressed in formal attire, not unlike Prince Kuroo’s. His eyes are trained intensely on yours. Something in the way he looks at you, walks to the altar, and takes your hands tells you that he is not here to simply watch. He is here for you.

Hello my lovely, it’s me your babygirl. Remember me? 🥰🥰
I know you’re busy working on fics rn so take as much time as you want to answer!
I’ve got a very important question regarding Felix that I’d love your opinion on it & share my thoughts with you!
*quickly runs to give you the biggest hug & spin you in my arms* 😘
So…. What do we think a Felix x reader wedding would look like at Saltburn? A grand extravaganza with a million guests or an intimate ceremony with just the Cattons?
Obviously they take every opportunity to throw a party at Saltburn so a wedding is the ultimate bash in the eyes of the Cattons.
Or would Felix just decide to change it entirely and just want it to be a tiny intimate thing since he wants this to feel quiet and special. And then maybe some big party another day to the delight of Elspeth and sir James.
For Felix he’s so laid back and in love all he cares about is his girl and what will make her happy. They are so young and in love i wouldn’t be surprised if he proposed on a lazy Sunday morning or a day reading naked in the field, just because he was so blissfully happy he knew there was nobody he’d rather spend these kind of days with for the rest of his life.
Side notes: Venetia would be maid of honor right? I see Elspeth as the mother in law that makes herself heavenly involved with planning and gives her brutally honest opinion picking out the dress 😅 I can even picture stoic Duncan trying to hold back tears while he’s holding a tissue box to Elspeth or sir James while they read their vows.
Sorry for the endless ranging but I’m aching to know your thoughts and see if you’ve thought about this too!!
of course i remember you, baby girl! welcome back!
i needed a break from writing, so thank you for sending this, my darling! it's always good to refresh the pallet, and this ask really got me thinking!
let's get into it!
kinda-sorta wedding AU HC's
pairing: Felix Catton x female!reader
fandom masterlist: Saltburn
word count: 1.4k+
warnings: suspiciously none
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so your question all depends on the Reader, but i'll try to answer best i can.
the Saltburn wedding is definitely a huge, extravagant ordeal. the Cattons are well connected, so, it wouldn't just be Felix and Reader's peers attending, but ALL family from both sides, as well as family friends, too. Reader's family is invited to Saltburn a week before matrimony; where they try to help, but the Cattons have hired 3 different wedding planners to make this the most talked-about event in any social circles.
every room in Saltburn is cleaned and decorated. an abundance of flowers are shipped in to be hung from the ceilings and bannisters. there's BOTH a live band and a DJ, an erected outdoor dance floor.
now, i can see two different things: 1. Felix and Reader marry in the local church and then the reception is hosted at Saltburn. 2. they marry on Saltburn's property and still have the big ass reception on the grounds.
either way, it's most def a summer wedding to utilize optimal weather. it's a reason to wear the best clothes, drink expensive liquor excessively, and indulge in gluttony. it's a night designed to make attendants jealous.
there's well over 300 people, Sir James and Elspeth combing through their address books to send invites even to family friends they haven't spoken to in years. they're the kind of parents that take advantage of their child getting married; it's the best excuse to show off and have a grand celebration, to prove the family doesn't do anything half-assed. if they can throw extravagant parties just for the hell of it, they definitely feel pressure to out-do themselves.
it's like this wedding isn't *for* Felix and Reader, but more so for the Cattons to show up and show out. it's not about a union of two people, but an excuse to gloat and smash their privilege in everyone's face.
Felix eats it up 'cause it's all he knows, the spoilt rich boy, but Reader's a little uncomfortable with the sheer size and details of her wedding. but in the same breath, she's relaxed because she KNOWS this is just how the Cattons operate and she doesn't really have to lift a single finger.
so, Reader lets Elspeth plan her ideal wedding - 'cause there's no way she's not involved. they make some decisions together, it's a bonding experience for Reader and her soon-to-be MIL, but for the most part, it's the matriarch doing most of the heavy lifting.
Felix and Reader only get to decide on wedding colors, catering options, and the cake. and even then, they have to endure his family's opinions.
Reader doesn't even get to 100% choose her dress, hair, and make up. Elspeth basically decides everything. i agree with you and think Mrs. Catton would impose herself even on the wedding dress selection, becoming persnickety, opinionated, and a little snarky when Reader shows off her dresses. this causes tension with Reader's family, who think the older woman far too self-important, and maybe it's Reader's mother or sister that stands up to her and insists Elspeth keep quiet since this *isn't* her wedding and they don't want any influences on Reader. they want Reader to choose her perfect wedding dress without scrutiny since she has no say in anything else.
in fact, maybe - juuuuuust maybe - Reader's family takes her to shop for a wedding dress without Elspeth in an effort to dial down the stress. it's not meant maliciously, but Elspeth simply cannot help herself and takes over everything; so, Reader's family figures if she's not there, Reader can make a decision *for herself*.
when Elspeth finds out, she's hurt, but it's Sir James that calms his wife down by reminding her that she had something not-so-nice to say about damn near every single dress Reader tries on. so, she accepts this one detail being out of her control.
the entire wedding screams "old money" because half of the decorations and details are wildly redundant, but there's no such thing as cost to the family. Elspeth is def living vicariously because she thinks she knows best, so she spares no expense - perhaps even going as far as to rent exotic peacocks to roam the grounds simply because the Cattons can!
they're definitely going "Crazy Rich Asians" in the sense that Felix's marriage is going to be the event of the decade, like Collin and Araminta's wedding. again, it's not even about the union but just a chance for the Cattons to remind everyone that they were lesser-than. Felix thinks it's normal, he thinks this is how it's supposed to be 'cause he's def removed from reality, and truth be told, he loves the attention. the bragging rights.
Felix might be a bit more reserved than his family, but he's still a Catton and glamour is *all* he knows, especially for an event like this. he doesn't stand up to his parents because they're paying for everything, which makes him feels as if he's not entitled to an opinion. so, he lets Sir James and Elspeth plan the wedding they want since all Felix has to do is show up. he'll do his best to alleviate stress, acting as a buffer between his betrothed and parents, but he doesn't dare open his mouth.
this is marketed as a once in a lifetime celebration, so nobody is willing to butt heads with Sir and Mrs. Catton.
on that note, yeah, i can see Felix having an intimate proposal. maybe in the field at sunset, maybe at a cafe in town, but not in bed. he's got a flare for the dramatic, so odds are, he's actually down on one knee. he's young, so he doesn't need to make a huge ordeal for the proposal since it's an incredibly intimate moment. he might even proposal on a whim / impulsively. he's had a ring for months, planning the best moment to ask Reader, but he gets anxious and one day, it just happens. it feels right. Felix has that burning feeling that he needs to ask now else he'll fuck up his plan in the future by being so nervous. so, yeah, he just asks one day - barely even thinks about it! he just knows Reader is who he wants, so why plan the "perfect moment" when an opportunity organically presents itself?
now, Venetia can be a bridesmaid, but she's not MOH. again, depends on the reader, but i imagine Reader's sister or her own best friend should be MOH. Reader wants Ven involved in everything, but no, she's not gonna be the one standing next to Reader when she gets married. Ven helps decide bridesmaid dresses, works with Reader's sister and / or best friend to plan the bachelorette party, and is present for any conflict between Reader and Elspeth. she's sorta like a tie breaker because Felix is on Reader's side and Sir James is on Elspeth's. Ven is the one who helps keep Elspeth under control, the only one bold enough to stand up to her mother without fear of repercussions. she sees how Reader is struggling to both have the wedding of her dreams and respect for her MIL, so, Ven imposes herself to give Reader a break. to be the voice Reader lost.
and just because it's fun, YES, Duncan is def in attendance, handing the Cattons and Reader's family tissues during the emotional moments of the wedding. he eats two slices of cake. and for the fuck of it, you bet your ass Duncan lets loose a little and Cabbage Patches on the dance floor.
i think it's nice to imagine Felix being all cute and intimate, but personally, i think he's so far deep in his family's way of living to truly be humble. sure, Reader anchors him to reality, but he still lives this extravagant life so he doesn't know the definition of "humble". but that's why i said, it depends on your reader - but in my opinion, Felix is a little too spoilt to have the forethought to marry privately. or maybe he knows it's a fight not worth having with his parents, that no matter what, they're going to do what they want.
so maybe Felix is the one encouraging Reader to just "go with the flow" because resisting is futile. perhaps Reader comes around to the idea of a grand wedding because she knows she'd never have this sort of experience with anyone else; so, why not bask in it?

ah, i love these. they're so much fun! thank you for sending in, baby girl! all my love 🖤

bachelorette party
private getaway in a cabin or lakehouse with expensive liquor vibes
basically it's an adult sleepover if you think about it
price would not let your maid of honor pay for anything and even has a private martini bar fully stocked for your weekend
god you love him like he really does spoil you (he just wants his fiancee to have the best time :'))
she does bring along some silk robes and fluffy slippers for everyone to change into when they arrive
he likes the occasional updates but eventually he'll just tell you to have fun with your bridesmaids
picture hikes, picnics, and casual boating on the lake
you're just a little adventurer
this is just one big adult sleepover and you couldn't ask for anything better
Tumblr media
wedding
something about price just screams a traditional wedding
you would probably rent out a gorgeous villa in Italy or France and have a destination wedding
your dress would be reminiscent of old Hollywood glamor and you would look like a princess walking down the aisle
def would both handwrite your own vows
something old, something blue, something borrowed, and something new is a must for you both
you'd end the wedding by driving off in a sleek car, your veil blowing in the wind as you and your husband shared many kisses to the venue
the reception itself is held in a castle or an elegant historic hall
you and your new hubby SPLURGED on this wedding
you love sitting at a long table at the front so you both can see all of your guests who came to witness your love
would definitely have a his and her drink that you could order at the bar
there is not a dry eye in the crowd when you share your first dance together and he holds you in his arms
a champagne tower is definitely there you cannot tell me otherwise

you and your bridesmaids fly out to a spa resort and are pampered the whole weekend
what's better than a mojito and a massage?
you even have a fun little photoshoot in your robes and face masks
nah because tell me why it would be hilarious if you called your fiancé when you were high out of your mind and asking him to bring you food he'd do it in a heartbeat
he does have room service delivered for you and as you're shoving French fries in your mouth, you love him even more
before you leave, you do go to a nice restaurant with the most gorgeous flowers before returning home

wedding
your guest book is made of postcards from all of your travels and you encourage everyone to write a message or advice
price easily takes the cake with the most sentimental advice for you as newly weds
your dress makes you look ethereal and Kyle is floored when he sees you walk down the aisle
your bouquet is simple and it compliments the blush hue of the theme
Kyle lifts you up when you walk down the aisle and the photographer is sure to capture the moment
speaking of which, the photographer takes candid pictures of you the whole night as you both agreed that you wanted genuine reactions instead of something staged
AUTUMN WEDDING VIBES
the venue is indoors but you add ivy leaves and tea lights which make the whole evening magical
you cannot tell me that Kyle wouldn't have the best food at his wedding
you simply have everything there and all of your guests find something to enjoy
ghost
Tumblr media
bachelorette party
very lowkey but comfortable!
you just want a nice weekend at an airbnb or your own home with your bridesmaids
if you choose your own home, it would probably be when Simon is away on duty or he agrees to leave for a weekend
your maid of honor prepared a sangria station and a paint and sip night for you
you also have prepared a ton of movies and games for you all to play towards the evening
catering? no! you and your bridesmaids chef it up in the kitchen and enjoy your home cooked meals
i also could imagine you wanting to do that trend where it's like "make a drink based on your occupation"
it's absolutely perfect as you enjoy the company and the creative outlet
the highlight has to be an outdoor garden dinner where you all can just talk and you can destress about wedding planning
Johnny wants to take Simon out for a bachelor's party and Simon just replies with a solid "No."
Tumblr media
wedding
i go back and forth with Simon as i feel like he would want a civil ceremony or something private but he could be convinced to have a very small wedding and reception if you wanted
this would be def your idea (stolen from Pinterest) but the seating chart would be some of your favorite books and the guests could keep them after
greenhouse or garden energy for the ceremony
your dress would be very simple (no glitter or frills here)
i'm talking about bare minimum guests here- your family, a few friends, and obvi the 141 boys
lots of private intimate pictures and not a lot of solo shots or portraits
you have a few close friends help you get ready and don't splurge on a hairdresser or makeup artist
his two favorite pictures of that day are you in your wedding dress and the one where you are kissing but are covering it with your bouquet
comfort food is the menu for tonight and you both pick dishes you love
the tapas would go HARD though, gotta keep your guests fed in between drinks
when it comes to speeches, Johnny has a 5 minute limit (although he tries to keep going)
you sneak away during the reception every so often to enjoy a private moment or dance with your new husband
he definitely always catches you off guard by telling you how beautiful you are during the whole night

something old, something new
Raphael x Tax is the main ship but this mainly features platonic Astarion x Tav
 · ──────  ❊  ────── · ·
They’ve been doing this for hours. Her forehead glistens with sweat and her legs threaten to give out at any moment. If they keep up this pace, it won't be long before she is a goner.
“Ouch!” Tav cries out as the needle pierces her skin and a lone drop of blood runs down the side of her arm. The seamstress glances up, horror in her eyes, then breaks down into a flurry of apologies, leaving the room with the promise to return with gauze to staunch the blood flow.
Astarion, lounging in the armchair with a book in his hands, perks up at the sight of her distress, suddenly interested in the scene playing out in front of him.
“Darling,” Astarion says the moment the door closes, looking at her up and down. “This isn’t the one.”
“I like it,” she says, touching the fabric of the dress’ lacy, flowing sleeves while being careful not to disrupt the pins. “It’s my wedding, after all.”
The fact that this even had to be said was absurd.
“It’s an outdoor wedding in Tuscany,” he emphasizes the word, as if she needed a reminder. “In the middle of summer, no less. And you look like you’re going to haunt some poor peasant family.”
A sigh of pure exhaustion leaves her lips. This was the third dress she tried on, and all of them have failed miserably to impress her current company, or herself, for that matter.
She had no idea what she was looking for when walked into that shop. Her only requirement was ‘absolutely no trail, of any kind’. She’d rather be a bride who can walk down the aisle on her own, thank you very much.
“You seem a little stressed.” Graceful as a fox, Astarion crosses the distance between them and leans in to whisper in her ear, his voice low and laced with promise. “If you'd prefer, we could take an extended break to help you take your mind off the matter…”
She tries to put on a stern face, but her smile betrays her amusement. “Astarion, I’ll be a married woman in just three weeks.”
“So what? I’m sure Raphael would understand. Think of it as your version of a bachelorette party.” Hot breath tickles her ear and she shivers in anticipation in spite of herself.
“You’re incorrigible,” Tav scolds, shaking her head.
“Don’t act so outraged. Why else would you’ve specifically requested my presence today—”
“Because none of my girl friends have the patience?” she offers.
“—if not for this?” His finger traces her collarbone, all the way down to her cleavage. The touch is slow, deliberate, and entirely devoid of passion, as one would expect from long-term friends.
“I can barely move around as it is.”
It was only half a lie. Even raising her arms was proving too tall a task, let alone doing anything else.
“Your loss,” Astarion finally concedes, throwing up his hands in the air and returning to his chair; his voice never losing its playful lilt. “You can make it up to me in other ways. Like answering my questions, for one.”
There’s a wicked gleam in his eyes when she catches his gaze in the mirror. She braces herself for the worst.
“Is our mutual friend a good lover? He definitely looks the part.”
Tav does her best to mask her hesitation, but like blood on the floor, he picks up its scent nonetheless.
“Oh,” is all he has to say.
“It’s nothing like that. It’s…” she tries to make up for her blunder, to no avail. It’s complicated, she wanted to tell him.
“Say no more.”
Glad to let the subject drop, she turns her attention to her reflection in the mirror.
It was no surprise that Raphael took on the burden of wedding planning. But his methods could be… overwhelming. Everything had to be perfect: from the venue and the canapés to the music played at the reception (his own compositions, incidentally enough). Tav had no doubt that her list of potential guests would be returned with several names crossed out.
“I made up my mind. This is the dress. If he doesn’t like it, well… trust him to buy another one.”
“Hm. I suppose there’s some charm to it. A gift ready to be unwrapped.” He gestures with both his hands, as if tracing her curves. The dress flared at the top before narrowing at the hips, leaving little to the imagination. Was it trumpet or mermaid-shaped? She can’t remember. Either way, better to keep it in mind not to stuff her face full of wedding cake when the day finally comes.
She arches an eyebrow at him. “But I thought you hated it?
“You can say I was only playing devil's advocate. Now, I assume you’ve set aside enough time in your schedule today to buy the rest of the outfit?” he asks in a conversational tone, as if he’s commenting on the weather.
For several moments, she can only stare at him, confused, as he leans in to pop a candy into his mouth. What else could she have missed?
She still had to schedule hair and makeup for the big day, not to mention sort out some last pending details for their Caribbean honeymoon. She isn't cut out for this job. When it came to party planning, she was as helpless as a floundering baby in the middle of the ocean. How other women took joy in this experience was a complete mystery.
Astarion presses his hand to his face. “Oh gods, darling… the lingerie! What else? Arguably the most important part. There’s a reason there’s a store just down the street.”
Maybe she would be a goner after all.

A/N: sorry for all the posting tonight. Here’s another one.
Warnings: smut.
—
She stepped out of the car on shaky legs, her heels scraping against the graveled road. It was a humid summer day. The earthy smell of the grass with last night’s rain filled her lungs when she took a deep breath, flicking her hair and using her reflection in thr car window to fix her appearance.
Matty tipped his sunglasses down his nose, giving her a sly smile. He’d had a similar expression on his face throughout the whole ride up here. His hands had found every occasion to slide off the car gear and graze the inside of her thigh, cup her knee, trace the skin of her legs underneath her short dress. Once they’d left the suffocating bustle of London behind, his hand reached even higher, cradling her core, sliding a finger along her cover slit, pressing the pad of his index gently at her clit, and finally rubbing it.
He had her melting and sliding down her seat by the time they’d arrived at the outdoor wedding venue. Her legs were spread open for him, her hips bucking up, begging him for more. She hoped the dashboard was obstructing the view of any arriving guests who could potentially see her, but she had to admit that, the added risk of getting caught, was part of why she was so aroused.
She moaned and whimpered for him, begging him to give her any real stimulation that went beyond his relentless tapping over her underwear. Just when she started to feel real pleasure build up, Matty withdrew his hands, leaving her hips swinging.
She whined, high pitched, and gave him a pout. Without a word, Matty smiled and got out of the car.
Mutual friends of the bride had spotted her getting out of Matty’s car and rushed to greet her. His hand brushed hers as he rounded the car and proceeded to the entrance. She knew he’d done that on purpose, and the simple feeling of her knuckle against hers was enough to rattle her.
***
She gathered her hair into a pony tail, tying it up to get it off her neck, as she carried on with her conversation with two of her oldest friends. The new airflow to her neck and shoulders feeling like a relief in the heat.
Matty excused himself from the conversation that he’d gotten dragged into at the bar and made his way towards her, a smile on his face and mischief in his eyes. He dipped his fingers into his drink, picking out an ice cube.
“Hello, ladies!” He greeted the trio, flashing them his charming smile as he stood right by her side, shoulders touching. He pretended to place a hand on her back as he caught up with her friends, discretely slipping the ice cube into her dress and placing his cold, wet hand on her neck.
She felt a gasp rip from her throat, but managed, with great difficulty, to swallow it. The shocking sensation was still too much, though, she lost balance, stumbling backwards, and almost falling, if it weren’t for Matty’s hand on her.
“You alright, there?” Her friends seemed puzzled.
“Y-yeah, just those heels- shouldn’t have worn them.” She sighed, watching Matty’s amusement from the corner of her eyes.
He leaned in, “I find your neck very sexy by the way. The pony tail was a great idea.” He whispered in her ear, his hot breath tickling her, before excusing himself to go check on the groom.
***
She strutted over to the open bar, feeling the sweat down her back, the humidity dripping down her legs, and the wetness in her underwear. Matty had reduced her to a mess. But, she was done. She decided that she was going to play his game too. She ordered an ice drink of her own, waiting for the bar-tender to fix it up, and scanned the open space from one side to the other. She needed a retaliation plan.
A lightbulb went off in her brain as soon as she spotted Rick, one of her and Matty’s mutual friends. Except, Matty definitely wouldn’t use the word ‘friend’ to describe his relationship to Rick. It was more like Rick really wanted to be Matty while Matty, on the other hand, despised everything about this man’s existence. Making him the perfect third player for this game. She asked the bar tended for an additional beer before taking her own drink, too, and rushing over to Rick.
“Hey, there, Rick!” Putting on her lightest, most enthusiastic voice.
She greeted him with a hug, offering him the beer that she knew he would accept. Rick was, and probably always would be, an attention guy. He absolutely dawned at whoever gave him any acknowledgment at all. So, it wasn’t exactly difficult to slip into a flirty, suggestive conversation with him once she got him going. The tricky part was waiting until Matty had become aware of them. And close enough to see what was going on. Once she caught him staring at the back of Rick’s head, she knew she had her in.
She pretended to be so engrossed in what Rick was saying that she’d lost track of her drink, subtly tipping it over so that it would spilled into the low-cut of her neck, setting her breasts.
“Oh shit! What have I done!!” She gasped, the cool feeling of the beverage against her skin knocking the wind out of her lungs.
Rick sprung into action, offering to accompany her to the bar for some napkins and help wipe her off.
“I- I think I might need to go to the ladies’ room and take care of this,” she mumbled, a bit stunned that Matty wasn’t already over here. She was at least hoping this’d be her chance to get away from Rick.
“I know where the restrooms are. let me show you.”
Rick ushered her in the direction of the bathrooms, but before they got anywhere, she saw Matty coming directly towards them from the opposite direction. smiling to herself, she let Matty drag her by the wrist as he carried on walking, not even a spare glance to her as she trailed behind him.
“What the fuck was that?!” He whisper-yelled when they were finally in the bathroom, Rick long forgotten by now.
“What the fuck was what?” She batted her lashed at him, not even trying to hide her laugh.
Matty’s lips crashed forcefully against hers, pinning her to the door. His fingers lowered the straps of her dress, pushing it so it would pool at her ankles. His lips were cold from the beverage he’d been sipping on, he licked into her cleavage, the sticky, fruity taste of her “accidental” spill was in her skin. Matty cleaned it right up, turning her into a hot, moaning mess in the process.
He helped her step out of her dress, carrying her to hoist her up on the bathroom counter. His finger roughly pushed the crotch of her underwear to the side, unbuckling his belt and swiftly sliding into her without hesitation or preparation.
She yelped, the intensity and surprise of the movement catching up to her.
Matty put his hand over her mouth as he thrusted into her “hush, now. Be quiet. Everyone we know is outside.”
She nodded, her big beautiful eyes going cloudy with pleasure. He could feel her breath on the palm of his hand every time she moaned or whimpered.
He nudged her jaw with his nose, lining kisses to her jaw and neck. “Wouldn’t mind if Rick heard ya’ though.” Matty spoke with a taught jaw, grunting and letting her skin absorbed his stifled moans. “Fuckin usin him to mess with me? What a cruel woman.” He chuckled, kissing her cheek. “But you know I can be just a cruel don’t you?”
She nodded, her words interrupted by moans.
“That’s why you’re gonna be a good girl for me and behave yourself.”

The perfect sexy dress for a wedding as a guest involves balancing style, elegance, and appropriateness for the occasion. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you find a stunning dress that makes you feel confident and comfortable:
1. Understand the Dress Code and Venue
Formal/Black-Tie: Opt for elegant evening gowns with sophisticated details.
Semi-Formal/Cocktail: Choose chic cocktail dresses that are stylish yet comfortable.
Beach/Outdoor: Lightweight fabrics and breezy silhouettes work best for outdoor settings.
2. Flattering Silhouettes
Bodycon Dresses: Highlight your curves with a fitted silhouette, but choose one with tasteful details like ruching or strategic seaming.
Wrap Dresses: Adjustable and flattering for various body types, often featuring V-necks or low backs.
Off-the-Shoulder Styles: Showcase your shoulders and collarbone, adding a touch of allure without being too revealing.
3. Necklines and Hemlines
Necklines: V-necks, sweetheart, halter, or one-shoulder styles can add a sexy touch while remaining elegant.
Hemlines: Midi lengths are versatile and sophisticated, while maxi dresses can be glamorous. If appropriate, a tasteful mini dress can also work.
4. Choose Quality Fabrics and Details
Fabrics: Satin, silk, lace, and chiffon add a luxurious feel to your dress.
Details: Look for lace overlays, sequins, beading, or subtle cutouts to enhance the dress’s allure without being over the top.
5. Color Selection
Classic Colors: Black, navy, burgundy, and jewel tones like emerald or sapphire are timeless and sophisticated.
Seasonal Colors: Pastels for spring, bright hues for summer, rich tones for fall, and metallics for winter weddings.
6. Accessorize Thoughtfully
Shoes: Heels can elevate your look, but choose a comfortable pair suitable for the venue.
Jewelry: Statement necklaces, earrings, or delicate pieces can complement your dress without overpowering it.
Clutches: A stylish clutch in a complementary color can complete your ensemble.
7. Balance Sexy with Modesty
While aiming for a sexy look, ensure the dress is not too revealing and that you feel comfortable throughout the event. Balance is key.
8. Popular Styles to Explore
Slip Dresses: Sleek and minimalistic, often in satin or silk fabrics.
Mermaid Dresses: Fitted through the body and flared at the knees, highlighting curves elegantly.
Asymmetrical Dresses: Unique hemlines or necklines add a modern and sexy twist.
9. Shopping Tips
Try Different Styles: Experiment with various styles to see what flatters your body type best.
Alterations: Ensure the dress fits perfectly by considering tailoring if needed.
Budget: Set a budget and explore options within that range, including rental services for high-end dresses.
10. Stay Updated with Trends
Current Trends: Incorporate elements like metallic accents, bold patterns, or minimalist elegance based on current fashion trends.
Inspiration: Look for inspiration on platforms like Pinterest, fashion blogs, or magazines such as Vogue.
Final Tips
Respect the Couple’s Wishes: Ensure your dress choice aligns with any guidelines provided by the couple, such as avoiding white or adhering to a specific theme.
Confidence is Key: Choose a dress that makes you feel confident and comfortable, as this will enhance your overall appearance.
By considering these factors, you can select a sexy and appropriate dress that fits the wedding's atmosphere and showcases your personal style. Happy shopping!

From Casual to Formal: Engagement Party Outfit Ideas for Guests
Tumblr media
An engagement party is one of the first big milestones on the road to the wedding, and as a guest, it’s essential to find the perfect outfit that strikes the right balance between celebration and sophistication. Whether you’re attending a chic city soirée or a laid-back backyard bash, your outfit should reflect the occasion while still allowing you to feel comfortable and stylish.
In this blog, we’ll explore what to wear to an engagement party, whether you should bring a gift, and how you can match your style to the theme of the event. Additionally, we’ll touch on popular themes and decorations for engagement parties, ensuring that you not only look great but also feel immersed in the ambiance of the celebration.
Understanding the Dress Code
The first step to selecting the perfect outfit for an engagement party is understanding the dress code. Invitations will often provide clues—such as "cocktail attire," "smart casual," or "semi-formal"—so take these suggestions into account when planning your look.
Casual Engagement Party
For a more casual celebration, you can opt for a smart yet relaxed outfit. A stylish sundress, jumpsuit, or a chic blouse with tailored pants would work perfectly. For men, think along the lines of chinos and a button-down shirt.
Semi-Formal or Cocktail Attire
If the engagement party is semi-formal, consider elevating your look. Women can wear cocktail dresses or stylish separates, while men should choose trousers paired with a blazer. Keep accessories elegant, and avoid anything too over-the-top.
Formal Engagement Party
A formal engagement party may call for a more polished outfit. This is the time to bring out a full-length dress or an elegant suit. For men, a suit and tie are standard, while women can go for sophisticated gowns or tailored evening dresses.
What to Wear to an Engagement Party in Different Seasons
Spring and Summer Engagement Parties
Spring and summer engagement parties often take place outdoors, meaning you can incorporate light, airy fabrics and soft colors into your look. Floral prints, pastel tones, and light fabrics like cotton and linen are perfect for these warm-weather events.
For men, lighter suits in shades like grey or beige, paired with a crisp shirt, work well. Women can embrace sundresses, flowy maxi dresses, or stylish jumpsuits. Remember to consider the venue—if the party is outdoors, you might want to opt for comfortable footwear like wedges or flats.
Fall and Winter Engagement Parties
For colder seasons, choose richer fabrics like velvet, wool, or cashmere to stay warm while still looking chic. Darker colors such as burgundy, navy, or emerald are perfect for a cozy, autumnal feel. A well-fitted coat or elegant scarf can add a stylish touch without compromising comfort.
Men can lean toward darker suits or blazers with warm accessories like a scarf or tie in seasonal hues. Women should consider long-sleeved dresses, structured blazers, or chic ankle boots.
What Not to Wear to an Engagement Party
Regardless of the dress code, some general rules apply to engagement party attire. Steer clear of white (unless explicitly encouraged) as this color is traditionally reserved for the bride. Additionally, avoid anything too casual or revealing, as engagement parties, though fun, are still formal occasions.
Should You Bring a Gift to an Engagement Party?
One common question that guests often have is whether they should bring a gift to an engagement party. While it isn’t always expected, it can be a thoughtful gesture to bring something small and meaningful.
Consider asking the couple’s family or the party host if gifts are appropriate. If you do decide to bring something, keep it simple: a bottle of wine, a decorative item for their home, or even a heartfelt card. In many cases, the engagement party is about celebrating the couple’s love, so extravagant gifts aren’t necessary.
If the invitation mentions a "no gifts" policy, be sure to respect the couple's wishes.
Matching Your Outfit to the Party’s Theme and Decorations
To really impress, coordinate your outfit with the overall theme or color scheme of the engagement party. This shows that you’ve paid attention to the details and want to align your style with the couple’s vision for the event.
If the party has a specific theme—like rustic chic, vintage, or modern glam—use that to inspire your clothing choices. For example:
Rustic Engagement Party: A floral maxi dress for women or a linen shirt for men would be a great fit.
Vintage Engagement Party: Channel old-world glamour with a lace dress or suspenders.
Modern Glam Engagement Party: Opt for sleek silhouettes and metallic accents to complement the party’s contemporary decor.
Decorations for Engagement Party: Coordinating Style with Event Vibe
The engagement party is not only about what you wear but also how the decorations set the stage for the celebration. The event decor often reflects the couple's personality and the vibe they want to create for the entire wedding journey.
Outdoor Garden Engagement Party
If the engagement party is hosted in an outdoor garden setting, expect decorations to highlight natural beauty. Twinkling fairy lights, floral centerpieces, and rustic tablescapes create a romantic atmosphere. To complement the theme, choose soft, flowy outfits and neutral tones to align with the serene ambiance.
Indoor Glam Engagement Party
For indoor venues with elegant decor—think chandeliers, lavish floral arrangements, and gold accents—go for a more glamorous look. Velvet fabrics, statement jewelry, and classic heels will ensure you fit right in with the upscale vibe.
Best Rental Wedding Decoration Services for Engagement Parties
To enhance the aesthetic of any engagement party, couples often turn to the best rental wedding decoration services. These companies provide everything from seating arrangements to floral installations, transforming any space into a breathtaking venue. By opting for rental services, you can achieve an elegant look without overspending. If you're attending a party organized by a rental decor company, your attire can reflect the elevated, curated style of the event.
Party Decorations in Montreal and Vancouver
Guests attending engagement parties in larger cities like Montreal or Vancouver may encounter different decor trends. In Montreal, a blend of European charm and modern style often influences engagement party decor. Sophisticated and chic, you might see minimalist floral arrangements, soft lighting, and sleek furniture.
In Vancouver, nature-inspired elements dominate. Outdoor engagement parties are popular, with event decor featuring greenery, wooden accents, and sustainable touches. Reflect these natural themes by choosing outfits that are stylish yet understated, with subtle accessories and organic fabrics.
Event Decorations That Wow: How To Match Your Outfit
Take cues from event decorations when planning your look. If the party features bold and vibrant decorations—such as bright florals, colorful linens, or statement tableware—feel free to be a bit more daring with your color choices. On the other hand, if the decor is more muted and minimal, opt for elegant, neutral tones that mirror the ambiance.
Decor Company Toronto
Toronto offers numerous high-end decor companies that specialize in creating engagement parties with unique themes and luxurious touches. If you're attending a party designed by a professional decor company Toronto, lean toward classic, polished attire. Think tailored dresses or suits that reflect the sophistication of the decor.
Conclusion: Style with Confidence
Ultimately, when attending an engagement party, your style should be a mix of comfort, elegance, and personalization. Whether you're dressing for a casual backyard gathering or a formal city celebration, make sure to match your outfit to the tone of the event. Don't forget to consider the couple's personalities and party decor, as these elements will guide your choices for Toronto's top event decor companies.
And remember: while your outfit is important, the most vital part of attending an engagement party is to share in the love and excitement of the couple’s journey. So, wear something you feel fabulous in, bring a small token of appreciation if appropriate, and get ready to celebrate! To read more about Cost of Wedding Shower Party Decorations

wedding with Brock and Jack? how's the planning process? theme? guest list? the mood?☺️ and the after?😏
Awww, love is in the air!
Tumblr media
Brock’s not terribly concerned with the details. He won’t argue much or resist many suggestions. He’ll put his two cents in when it comes to the food though. They go to tastings for five different caterers before they finally settle on one.
Neither he nor Allison have much family so the seats of their outdoor venue are filled with friends and teammates. In the Echo-verse, Steve walks Allison down the aisle and Brock and Addy forgo a wedding party. At the alter, it’s just the two of them, like it’s always been. Brock wears a traditional bow tie tuxedo and the guests are in their best summer semi-formal. After the reception, there’s no time to waste before they have to catch a plane to their honeymoon in Thailand, where Brock finally gets to show Allison that beach he always told her she’d love. But that doesn’t stop him from taking Allison aside for a quick make out session after the photos and before they make their entrance as husband and wife. Once they’re on the island though, their hands are all over each other and they don’t leave the little beach house, and barely the bed, until the next day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack insists whatever Allison wants is fine with him, but he will raise a brow in challenge or make a subtle noise of discontent if there’s something he truly isn’t in to. He lobbies for a full bar at the reception, regardless of the cost.
In the Delta-verse, we have to use some imagination because it’s incomplete. But we’ll operate in post-TWS rules and say Pierce is dead. So, Mick’s girls drop flower petals as Allison walks down the aisle by herself. The wedding party is small, with Jules as Allison’s MOH and Natasha and Evy as bridesmaids. Jack’s best man is Brock, next to Jack’s friend Kyle and Dennison. The guest attire is semi-formal and Jack chooses a necktie over a bow with his and the guys’ tuxes. After the reception, they have a suite for the night before they head to the airport. Ever the doting man, and fully aware how much Allison paid for and loves that dress, Jack helps Allison out of her dress, carefully undoing each delicate button down the back as he nibbles soft kisses across her shoulder, telling her how beautiful she looked tonight. With the dress safely aside, their romantic first night as husband and wife starts with Jack sweeping her off her feet to take her to bed with him.

Dressing to Impress: Plus Size Outfits for Wedding Guests
Weddings are a beautiful celebration of love, family, and joy, and they offer the perfect opportunity to dress up and show off your personal style. However, finding the right outfit for the occasion can feel like a challenge, especially for plus-size individuals. The good news? With evolving fashion trends and the growing emphasis on inclusive design, there are countless plus size outfits for wedding guests that are stylish, comfortable, and flattering.
Whether you're attending a traditional ceremony, a chic modern celebration, or an outdoor garden wedding, this guide will help you explore the best options to make you feel confident and look radiant on the big day.
 Understanding the Dress Code
The first step to choosing the perfect wedding guest outfit is understanding the dress code. Wedding invitations often provide clues about the level of formality expected, such as:
Black Tie: Opt for floor-length gowns or elegant cocktail dresses.
Semi-Formal or Cocktail: Choose knee-length dresses, jumpsuits, or flowy skirts paired with chic tops.
Casual: Embrace comfortable yet polished options like maxi dresses, sundresses, or tailored pants with blouses.
For plus-size wedding guests, this means focusing on styles and fabrics that flatter your body type while staying true to the dress code.
Styles That Work for Plus-Size Wedding Guests
1. Elegant Maxi Dresses
Maxi dresses are a timeless choice for wedding guests, offering both comfort and style. Their flowy silhouette creates a graceful look, making them perfect for semi-formal and casual weddings.
Look for empire waists or A-line cuts to highlight your curves.
Choose fabrics like chiffon, georgette, or jersey for a flattering drape.
Floral prints, pastel shades, and subtle embellishments work beautifully for daytime weddings, while darker tones with metallic accents shine at evening events.
2. Flattering Wrap Dresses
Wrap dresses are a go-to option for plus-size women, thanks to their adjustable fit and ability to accentuate the waist.
V-necklines elongate the neck and draw attention to the face.
Opt for dresses with flutter sleeves or three-quarter sleeves for added comfort and coverage.
Pair with statement jewelry and block heels for a polished look.
3. Chic Jumpsuits
For those who prefer something modern and unconventional, jumpsuits are an excellent alternative to dresses.
Wide-leg jumpsuits with a belted waist create a balanced silhouette.
Choose designs with interesting details like off-shoulder necklines, lace overlays, or sequins for a touch of glamour.
Jumpsuits in solid colors like navy, burgundy, or emerald are versatile and sophisticated.
4. Lehengas and Sarees
If you’re attending a traditional wedding, lehengas and sarees are classic choices. Plus-size women can rock these outfits by focusing on fabric, draping, and fit.
High-waisted lehengas paired with crop tops or long kurtas highlight the waist beautifully.
For sarees, opt for lightweight fabrics like chiffon, crepe, or georgette for an effortless drape.
Pre-stitched or pre-draped sarees are a convenient and stylish option for wedding guests.
5. Tailored Skirts and Tops
For casual or semi-formal weddings, consider a midi skirt paired with a stylish blouse.
A-line or pleated skirts create a flattering silhouette, while fitted tops or blouses with embellishments add a touch of elegance.
Choose bold prints or rich fabrics to make a statement without overshadowing the bridal party.
Colors and Fabrics to Consider
1. Colors
When choosing plus size outfits for wedding guests, consider the wedding theme and season:
Spring and Summer Weddings: Soft pastels, floral prints, and bright colors like coral or lavender.
Fall Weddings: Earthy tones such as mustard, olive green, burgundy, and burnt orange.
Winter Weddings: Jewel tones like emerald, navy, or deep red, paired with metallic accents.
Avoid wearing white (unless explicitly allowed by the couple) or anything too similar to the bridal party’s colors.
2. Fabrics
Comfort is key when selecting fabrics, especially for long ceremonies or receptions.
Lightweight and breathable materials like cotton, linen, and chiffon work well for warm-weather weddings.
For evening or formal events, go for luxurious fabrics like velvet, silk, or satin.
Accessorizing Your Outfit
The right accessories can elevate any outfit and complete your wedding guest look.
Jewelry: Statement necklaces, chandelier earrings, or stacked bangles can add sparkle without overwhelming your outfit.
Shoes: Choose footwear that’s both stylish and comfortable. Block heels, wedges, or embellished flats are great options.
Clutches and Bags: A small clutch or crossbody bag is perfect for carrying essentials like your phone, lipstick, and tissues.
Wraps and Jackets: For outdoor or winter weddings, add a stylish shawl, cape, or jacket to stay cozy.
Styling Tips for Confidence
1. Fit Is Everything
No matter what style you choose, ensure that your outfit fits well. Tailored garments not only look better but also make you feel more confident.
2. Highlight Your Best Features
Focus on cuts and designs that accentuate your favorite features. For example, V-necklines, cinched waists, and flowy skirts can create a stunning look for plus-size individuals.
3. Comfort Matters
Comfort is just as important as style, especially when attending long ceremonies. Choose outfits that allow you to move, dance, and enjoy the festivities without feeling restricted.
 Celebrate Your Style
Gone are the days when fashion options for plus-size wedding guests were limited. Today, there’s a world of beautiful and diverse styles to choose from, ensuring that everyone can feel confident and stylish while celebrating love.
The key to finding the perfect plus size outfits for wedding guests is to focus on what makes you feel amazing. Whether it’s a flowy maxi dress, a modern jumpsuit, or a traditional lehenga, the right outfit is one that reflects your personality and helps you shine throughout the event.
After all, weddings are about joy and togetherness, and your style should reflect that spirit. So embrace your curves, celebrate your individuality, and step into the celebration with confidence and flair!

Stunning Bridesmaids Bouquets from Lenox Hill Florist & Events – Your Trusted Flower Shop on the Upper East Side
Planning a wedding is no small feat. From choosing the venue to finalizing the guest list, the details can feel endless. But one thing that should never be overlooked is the floral arrangements—especially the bridesmaids' bouquets. These blooms perfectly complement the wedding theme, set the tone for your big day, and highlight your trusted bridesmaids who’ll stand by your side.
Tumblr media
At Lenox Hill Florist & Events, we're experts in crafting bespoke bouquets that capture your vision, no matter the theme or season. Whether you're searching for a flower shop on the Upper East Side, planning a bouquet delivery, or browsing elegant flower designs from Manhattan florists, this guide is here to help you create the perfect bridesmaids' bouquets that add beauty and harmony to your wedding.
Why Bridesmaids Bouquets Matter in Your Wedding
Your bridesmaids' bouquets play a pivotal role in your wedding. Here’s why these arrangements matter so much:
They tie the color palette together: Bridesmaids' bouquets unify the wedding theme by incorporating the same or complementary colors.
They frame the bridal look: These bouquets surround the bride, creating picture-perfect moments during the ceremony and group photos.
They highlight the season: Seasonal flowers can add freshness and beauty to your wedding, showcasing the time of year in an elegant way.
Steps to Choosing the Ideal Bridesmaids Bouquets
Crafting the perfect Bridesmaids bouquetsdoesn’t have to be daunting. Follow these clear and simple steps to achieve stunning results.
1. Start with Your Wedding Theme
The style and aesthetics of your wedding should take center stage when choosing your bouquets. A formal, black-tie wedding might call for timeless roses or calla lilies, while a rustic outdoor ceremony could feature wildflowers like daisies, sunflowers, or lavender.
If you're unsure where to start, visiting a Flower shop Upper East Side—like ours at Lenox Hill Florist & Events—can provide inspiration. We can show you arrangements that fit themes from romantic and vintage to modern and chic.
2. Choose a Color Palette
Matching your wedding’s color palette is a key element when designing bridesmaids' bouquets. You’ll want blooms that complement the bridesmaids’ dresses and overall decor.
For a cohesive look, choose shades from your wedding color palette to highlight in the bouquets. If your dresses are neutral tones, opt for vibrant bouquets to add a splash of color. Conversely, dresses in bold hues pair beautifully with soft, muted pastel arrangements.
Need guidance? Our expert Manhattan florists Manhattancan help you curate the perfect palette from our selection of premium flowers.
3. Focus on Flower Variety and Texture
Flowers have an incredible way of elevating aesthetics. Mixing varieties adds depth and interest to bouquets, while textural elements create a polished and layered appearance. Combine focal flowers, like peonies or garden roses, with accents such as baby’s breath, eucalyptus stems, or thistles to create dimension.
At Lenox Hill Florist, we offer brides-to-be an unmatched range of options. Whether it's classic blooms or trendy, exotic designs, we ensure each bouquet tells a story.
4. Consider Practicality for Bridesmaids
While it’s tempting to go all out, remember that your bridesmaids will be carrying these bouquets during the ceremony. Bouquets that are too heavy or oversized can be uncomfortable to hold—especially for long periods.
Our florists know how to balance beauty and practicality, creating lightweight, manageable floral arrangements that are easy for your bridesmaids to carry.
5. Think about Seasonal Blooms
Seasonal flowers often look their best, are more eco-friendly, and are typically more budget-friendly. For example:
Spring and Summer Weddings: Peonies, hydrangeas, tulips, and daisies.
Fall Weddings: Chrysanthemums, dahlias, and burnt-orange roses.
Winter Weddings: Amaryllis, anemones, and evergreen foliage.
Our Upper East Side flower delivery service ensures you’ll always have access to fresh and seasonal blooms for your wedding day.
6. Personalize the Bouquets
Your bridesmaids are more than just part of the wedding party—they’re often your closest friends and family members. Adding personal touches to their bouquets can show your love and appreciation.
Consider embellishing the bouquets with ribbons in matching colors or engraved charms with initials or special dates. Few details go unnoticed, and these small flourishes can make a big impact.

How to Handle Weather-Related Contingency Plans for Your Event: Insights for Marriage Decoration in Coimbatore
Tumblr media
Weather can be unpredictable, especially when planning a big event like a wedding. Whether you're organizing a lavish outdoor celebration or a smaller, intimate gathering, it’s essential to have a well-thought-out weather-related contingency plan. In this blog, we will explore practical strategies to prepare for any weather disruptions and ensure your event runs smoothly. Whether you're dealing with rain, wind, or extreme heat, this guide will help you stay prepared, all while keeping your wedding decoration in Coimbatore intact.
1. Assess the Weather Risks
Before you dive into planning your contingency strategies, it’s important to understand the climate risks for your event. Coimbatore enjoys a relatively mild climate, but it’s still important to monitor weather forecasts during the event planning stages. For example, if your wedding is during the monsoon season, you might need to consider more weather-resistant options for your marriage decoration in Coimbatore.
Tips for Assessing Weather Risks:
Keep an eye on the weather forecast leading up to your event day.
Check for any climate patterns that could affect outdoor venues, such as rain or strong winds.
Discuss potential weather challenges with your wedding planner and vendors.
2. Secure a Backup Venue or Tent
One of the best ways to handle weather uncertainties is to secure a backup venue or tent. If you're hosting an outdoor wedding, a tent or indoor location provides shelter in case of rain or high winds. For a seamless transition, make sure your marriage decoration in Coimbatore can be easily transferred between the outdoor and indoor spaces without compromising on design and aesthetic.
Real-World Example: A recent wedding held at a popular Coimbatore garden venue faced unexpected rain, but the couple had arranged a nearby hall as a backup. The event was seamlessly moved indoors, and the same decorations were used inside the hall, allowing guests to enjoy the wedding without disruptions.
3. Prepare for Temperature Fluctuations
Extreme heat or cold can also disrupt your event, especially in open-air venues. Make sure to prepare for temperature fluctuations by providing guests with options to stay comfortable. For example, if you’re hosting a wedding during the summer, fans or misting systems can keep everyone cool. On the other hand, a cozy setup with heaters or blankets may be needed if your event falls during cooler months.
Things to Consider for Temperature:
Offer guests shaded areas or air-conditioned spaces.
Provide cooling options such as fans or chilled water stations.
Prepare heating solutions for colder evenings or seasons.
4. Communicate with Your Guests
Clear communication with your guests is key to keeping them comfortable and informed. Should weather conditions change last minute, send out updates through text messages, emails, or social media. Let guests know about any changes in venue, timing, or dress codes, and remind them of any contingency measures in place. By keeping guests in the loop, you can avoid confusion and ensure everyone is prepared for potential weather challenges.
Expert Tip: “An informed guest is a happy guest. Make sure your communication is prompt, clear, and courteous to help your guests enjoy your event despite any weather-related disruptions.” – Wedding Planner, Coimbatore.
5. Consider the Logistics of Wedding Decoration
As much as you may want to create the perfect atmosphere for your wedding, it's also important to be mindful of how weather conditions can affect your marriage decoration in Coimbatore. For example, floral arrangements may need extra protection against the sun or rain. Make sure to discuss these considerations with your decorator to ensure that everything remains beautiful and intact regardless of the weather.
Practical Tips for Wedding Decor:
Use weather-resistant materials for your decorations, such as waterproof fabrics and sturdy floral arrangements.
Ensure all decorations are securely fastened to avoid them being blown away in the wind.
Consider incorporating more indoor-friendly decoration elements if there is a high chance of rain or wind.
Conclusion: Be Prepared and Enjoy Your Wedding Day
Handling weather-related contingencies for your wedding or event is all about being prepared and flexible. With the right planning and backup options, you can handle any weather challenges that come your way. From securing a backup venue to communicating with your guests and making adjustments to your marriage decoration in Coimbatore, having a solid contingency plan will ensure that your event is as successful as you envision it, no matter what the weather brings.
Take Action Now: Start creating your weather-related contingency plan today and ensure that your wedding in Coimbatore remains a beautiful and stress-free occasion, rain or shine. Consult with your wedding planners, decorators, and vendors to implement these strategies and create a seamless event experience.
By following these tips, you’re one step closer to a worry-free event, no matter the weather conditions.

How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Venue: Tips from a Professional Planner
Tumblr media
Choosing the right wedding venue is one of the most important decisions in the wedding planning process. After all, your venue sets the tone for your entire celebration, from the decor to the atmosphere and even the guest experience. As one of the leading destination wedding planners in Delhi, I’ve helped countless couples find their dream venues, and I’m here to share some essential tips that will make your search for the perfect location a breeze.
1. Consider Your Wedding Style
Your wedding venue should reflect your style and the overall theme you envision for your big day. Do you dream of a classic, elegant ceremony with chandeliers and formal attire? Or perhaps you’re looking for a relaxed, rustic vibe with outdoor views and a more laid-back dress code. Before you start touring venues, take some time to think about the style and mood you want to create.
Traditional Weddings: Look for a grand ballroom, hotel, or country club that offers elegant decor and all-inclusive packages.
Rustic or Boho Weddings: Consider barns, vineyards, or gardens that have an earthy, natural vibe.
Modern or Industrial Weddings: Lofts, warehouses, and art galleries can provide the sleek, contemporary atmosphere you may prefer.
2. Set a Realistic Budget
Your wedding venue will likely be one of the biggest expenses on your list, so it’s important to set a realistic budget early on. Keep in mind that the price of a venue often includes more than just the space—it may also cover catering, décor, and staffing.
Venue Fees: Understand the total cost, including taxes, tips, and any additional charges.
Inclusions: Some venues include tables, chairs, linens, and sound systems, while others may charge extra for these items.
Catering Costs: If the venue offers in-house catering, consider whether this fits your budget or if you’ll need to hire an external caterer.
A professional wedding planner can help you navigate venue options that match your budget and avoid any hidden costs.
3. Guest List Size
The size of your guest list will determine the size of the venue you need. A venue that is too small can feel cramped and uncomfortable, while one that is too large might feel empty and lack intimacy. Be sure to finalize your guest list before you start booking venues so that you can choose a space that accommodates your guests without being overwhelming.
Small Weddings (under 50 guests): A cozy, intimate venue such as a boutique hotel, private estate, or small restaurant works best.
Medium Weddings (50–150 guests): Consider country clubs, banquet halls, or even larger outdoor venues like gardens or barns.
Large Weddings (150+ guests): Large ballrooms, hotels with extensive event spaces, and event centers are great options.
4. Location, Location, Location
The location of your venue plays a significant role in both your guest experience and your overall wedding vibe. Consider how far your venue is from your ceremony site, hotels, and transportation options. You want your guests to have an easy time navigating to your wedding, especially if they are traveling from out of town.
Accessibility: Look for a venue that is easy to reach by car or public transportation.
Guest Accommodations: If you have a lot of out-of-town guests, consider a venue near hotels or provide shuttle services.
Seasonal Considerations: Outdoor venues may be stunning, but they can be affected by weather. If you're planning a summer wedding, ensure the venue has ample shade or air conditioning. For winter weddings, ensure the venue is well-heated.
5. Explore Available Services and Vendors
Some venues offer all-inclusive packages with catering, photography, floral arrangements, and even a wedding coordinator. While this can save you time and effort, it may also limit your choices for outside vendors. As a professional planner, I often recommend looking for venues that give you flexibility with your vendor choices, as long as they meet the venue’s requirements. If you’re working with an event management company in Delhi, they can help you navigate these options and ensure you get the best vendors for your special day.
In-House Vendors: If the venue offers a list of preferred vendors, check if these vendors align with your style and budget.
Vendor Flexibility: If you want to bring in your own vendors (for example, a specific photographer or band), make sure the venue allows it.
Venue Coordination: Some venues offer a coordinator to help with logistics, but a professional wedding planner can be a valuable asset in managing all the details.
6. Think About the Ambiance and Setting
Every venue has its own atmosphere, and it’s important that it aligns with the feeling you want for your big day. Spend time at the venue (ideally during an event) to get a sense of its ambiance. Does the space feel warm, inviting, and welcoming? Is there natural light, or does the lighting feel too harsh for your taste?
Indoor vs. Outdoor: Some venues offer both indoor and outdoor options. Think about which setting will create the vibe you want—an outdoor garden wedding might be stunning at sunset, while an indoor ballroom can be elegant for a nighttime celebration.
Decor and Layout: Consider how much you’ll need to decorate the venue to make it your own. Some venues come with beautiful decor, while others might require more customization.
7. Check Availability
Wedding venues can book up quickly, especially during peak seasons (typically spring and fall). It’s crucial to check the venue’s availability as early as possible and be flexible with your date if necessary. Keep in mind that some venues may offer discounts for off-peak days or seasons, so consider getting married on a weekday or during the winter months if you’re looking to save money.
8. Trust Your Instincts
Finally, trust your gut. After considering all the practical factors, the perfect wedding venue should make you feel excited and at peace. You’ll know when you’ve found the one that speaks to your vision, your style, and your heart.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the perfect wedding venue takes careful consideration, but with these tips, you’re well on your way to finding a location that suits your vision, budget, and style. As a wedding planner, I always tell my clients that the venue is the foundation of their wedding day—once you’ve got that, everything else will fall into place. Happy planning!
