NA LCS Week 2 Recap

Week 2 of the NA LCS surprisingly saw more of the same, teams that didn't even see the top 4 last split make up the top 4 currently. Its good to see last week wasn't just a fluke and teams actually are playing drastically better then spring. No team coming out of this week has not had a loss, and only one team is coming out with no wins.

Counter Logic Gaming

CLG vs Echo Fox

CLG vs TSM

This week we saw continued succsess from the CLG roster, even with a loss coming out of the week they still looked like a solid team.  The third game of the series with TSM came down to a single team fight. CLG play flyquest next week, the team that kicked them out of the quarter finals last split. They also play the last place Phoenix1 next week.

Team Dignitas

Dignitas vs TSM

Dignitas vs Team Liquid

Dignitas puzzled everyone this week with their results, somehow beating the team that no one expected them to beat and losing to the team that everyone expected them to beat. Dignitas looked amazing during the first game of the week against TSM, playing very well expecially around baron. (no more Dig Baron memes)  In the end somehow they took everything they learnt about the first 3 games of the split and forgot it, their games against team liquid looked more like the Dignitas from early spring split. I hope they can still play like they were during the TSM games when they play Phoenix1 and Echo Fox next week.

Immortals

Immortals vs Team Envy

Dont get me wrong Immortals still look really good, they are just up against teams that are surprizingly just as good as they are. They should be able to keep winning and I do think that they will be able to continue shaking the LCS for the rest of this split.  They play Team Liquid and Cloud9 next week and hope that they can now take out the second place team from last split as they did with the first place.

Team Envy shocked everyone this week im sure getting tons of new fans, beating Immortals the team that looks like a true contender this Summer.  Just like last week Apollo and LirA look amazing and are already strong contenders for potential MVP's this split. I really want too see Envy play like this from now on, they clearly have a well put together team that has the strength to be one of the best.  They play Echo Fox and TSM next wek and i really hope they can end week 3 going 2-0

Team Solo Mid

TSM are starting to look like the G2 of NA what i mean by that is while they are very strong they dont adjust to anything besides the typical style of play.  When they played Dignitas this week they didnt expect the style of play around the control and the claiming of Baron. On the oposite side of it they did get the best of CLG to give them their first loss.  Like many teams other Anaylists understand, they way to defeat CLG is to not let them play the game like they want to. If they can control the game and make CLG the team that needs to react and not be the ones acting. You can usually get the upper hand of the game.

Echo Fox

This week we saw the 10 man roster of Echo Fox test out their backup jungler Grig It was really clear that echo fox just wants all their players to get a chance to play on the LCS stage but i dont think week two was the best time to do it especially when they went 2-0 the first week. Akaadian was up for Rookie of the split during Spring, so it does confuse me why they let a Sub play two series this week. I think if Echo Fox plays their best players next week they can still show themselves to be a contender. They play Team Envy and Team Dignitas next week, two teams that are playing very well at the start of this split.

Cloud 9

Cloud 9 vs Phoenix1

Cloud 9 looks so much better then they did last week with the return of Impact to the top lane.  Every single player looked better then they did last week espically Sneaky being MVP for multipule games. As much as I do like underdog stories i really do hope we can see Cloud 9 still play like the top tier team they are so we can see some amazing play between teams for the weeks to come. They play Immortals as well as their ex-teammates in Flyquest next week.

Team Liquid

TL vs Team Envy

Team Liquid did return GoldenGlue to the mid lane this week but it clearly didnt resolve most of the issues that they did have. Although they are not coming out of this week without a win i still dont have much good to say about the team, I dont feel like they beat Dignitas by playing better but by Dignitas just not playing like they were for any other team, maybe they underestimated Team Liquid and treated them more like a Challenger team then a current LCS competitor.  Maybe they can shock me against a top teir team next week as they play Immortals and TSM.

Flyquest

Flyquest are starting to look alittle better this week but nowhere near early Spring Split. Moon is really picking back up as well as Wildturtle finding his place in the roster.  I feel like this team is going to start getting better and better as this split continues, i dont know if they will pick up fast enough to find themselves a playoff spot at the end of this split. They play CLG and Cloud 9 next week, if they can pull off a win against either then I think they have potential this split.

Phoenix1

Phoenix1 vs Cloud 9

Phoenix1 vs Flyquest

Phoenix1 have more then one single issue to put the blame on for their failings. It does seem like Phoenix1 are trying to put a band-aid on themselves by playing Meteos in place of Inori when i don’t think Inori is even the main issue. Inori strives in a meta where Jungle is the carry and can play hyper aggressive, stealing the enemy camps while providing global pressure. Id like to see the team play with more of a around the entire map presence as i think both solo laners are majorly underrated especially Zig. Phoenix1 play Dignitas and CLG next week and i want to see them end the week with at least one win.

Summary

This Split is looking more and more exciting by the week, with teams like Envy tied for 1st and 3rd place team Phoenix1 in last without a win.  After week 3 is completed i really think we will start to see teams find their place for the rest of the split and that is when I think we will bet able to more accurately place teams in their places.
