Had a great time at the closing event of “Singapore Undercovered” – an initiative by four passionate ladies from #NTUsg: Samantha, Si Hui, Amanda and Sng Ying. Over the last five months, they have taken 85 students from four secondary schools on field visits to home-grown start-ups and organisations like Home-Fix, Splash and Carousell. The journeys of these Singapore enterprises reflect our contemporary culture, and together form the Singapore story which is part of all of us. I hope such efforts will inspire more youths to be interested in discovering, in venturing, to make an impact, to create the future! #OurSingaporeFund #OurSG #SGStory #SGPeople #SGyouth

It was great to see fellow Singaporeans – young and old – at the “Remembering Our Founders: The Making of a Memorial” showcase at Gardens by the Bay. There were 7 stations, each with a unique feature. I particularly enjoyed the interactive segments where we could share our views on the type of memorial we want and the experience we hope to have. One of the stations even allowed you to create the memorial you have in mind and bring it to life! From the showcase, you can also look across to Bay East Garden, one of the possible sites for the memorial. Many Singaporeans have shared their thoughts – have you? If not, visit the showcase at the Waterview Room at Gardens by the Bay before end April. Admission is free for all! In Parliament yesterday, I spoke about how Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth will continue to build vibrancy in arts and sports, and invest in our youth. I ended my speech with this note of hope and optimism. “It is only by working hand-in-hand that we can realise our shared goals for Singapore, be it in the arts, youth or sports sectors.
