I’m staying in me and my girlfriend’s apartment while she moves to Boston and I’ve decided to go full feral mode. We have a complete absentee landlord and theyve covered what were clearly old flower beds in the back with gravel and I’m going to dig all of it up and put in fertile soil and mulch and plant flowers this year and maybe a few vegetables. Next year im going to plant a full community garden for my neighbors (many of us have lived here for at least two years, a lot of us much, much, much longer and have no plans on moving any time soon). Im willing to put time and effort and money into this place because my hands need to touch soil that’s mine, even if it technically isn’t. I also went on Google maps and looked back and the lawn in front of my apartment used to have a little pine tree that someone ripped up and I’m thinking of replanting it along with making a flower bed out front. I guarantee no landlord will notice, and if any property management company does notice they’ll assume it’s from a higher up position and it will be fine
