Okay, I know we're all pretty much dead set on Evelyn carrying the surname Clawthorne, BUT I think it would be 10x funnier if it wasn't her surname. She probably has some lame or super weird surname that turns heads when it's read aloud, but nothing like "Clawthorne".

"Wittebane" sounds too human, and it ties Caleb back to the human realm, emotionally, I'm not convinced that someone on the Isles would hear the surname "Wittebane" and cry "human" because we see some "human"/"normal" surnames (Park, Blight, Porter, etc.). And it's not like the name Caleb would make someone cry "human" either. We've seen some "human"/"normal" names on the Isles too (Evelyn, Gwyndolin, Lilith, Augustus, Harvey, etc.). So, in reality Caleb would have no reason to change his full name. But he probably would change one of them and I think he's pull the surname "Clawthorne" right out of his ass when asked what his surname is.

We all want Evelyn to be the Clawthorne we're looking for so badly, but I think it's on brand for a Wittebane to lie and use a made-up name. Caleb doesn't say a single word, we've seen him. We all also agree that Fanon!Caleb has "I can fix him" mentality when he looks at Philip, so it'd really be on brand for Caleb to have a fake name for no reason at all.

It'd be hilarious if Caleb, not only haunted the narrative since the 1600s, but was the Clawthorne, the first Clawthorne. The one who started that family.
