The Cottage City Poltergeist / The True Story Behind The Exorcist

The story of the possession of Roland Doe in the 1940s is believed to be the real life inspiration behind the film The Exorcist. The boy’s real name was never disclosed by the church in order to protect him after the events of the exorcism. The story was collected for the diaries of a bishop and the testimony of Father Walter Halloran who was one of the surviving eye witnesses to the exorcism and strange events surrounding it.

When Roland’s aunt died when he was 13 he attempted to contact her using a oujia board. After that strange events started happening around the house. Squeaky and marching footsteps would be heard about the house, furniture would move of its own accord, a vase flew across the room, images of Jesus rattled as though they were being punched on the other side of the wall and containers of holy water would mysteriously smash if placed near Roland. His frightened family turned to Rev. Luther Miles Schulze for help. He had Roland examined by both medical and psychological doctors who could not find anything that would cause the strange occurrences. Schulze arranged for the boy to stay with him on the 17th of February.

During the night the priest witnessed several strange events. He was awoken by vibrating sounds coming from the bed and scratching sounds behind the walls. An armchair the boy was sitting on raised into the air and tipped over, and blankets flew around the room hitting people in the face. After that night Schulze concluded that an exorcism should be preformed on Roland.

Roland was taken to Georgetown University Hospital for his first exorcism but it had to be stopped after he inflicted a wound on one of the priests that required stitches. He was then sent home, but after strange welts started appearing on the boy’s body his parents sent for the priests again. It is then they discovered that Roland had developed an aversion to anything sacred and holy, he was causing the bed to shake, objects would fly around the room and he had started speaking in a strange and guttural voice.

The priests gained permission to preform a second exorcism on the boy and he was taken to hospital again. During the exorcism words such as “evil” and “hell”, along with other marks started appearing on the boy’s body. He broke one of the attending priest’s noses and it wasn't until they preformed the exorcism rights 30 times, over a period of several weeks, that Roland was finally considered cured. Many witnesses in the hospital claim to have heard a loud noise the moment Roland was finally free from his demonic possession.

So when I was in my teens along my big sis, and cousin we decided to play the oujia bard

At 1st we were just messing around with each-other then we got serious lights off just a couple candles..

we came into contact with something claiming to be our grandparents but found out it was a lil girl that my sister had actually saw before.. and one of my brothers also seen her before.. so we came to the point to burn the board and stop playing. After all this I just have this really heavy feeling in me and I’m not sure why..

That night we bunked in my sisters room cause we were a lil freaked out. My big sis fell asleep right away so did my cousin.. and all of sudden this raspy voice say something, and it’s like right by my ear so I’m stiff at this point not knowing what it just said or what is was.. I told them the next morning but only scared them even more..

So fast forward to a week or 2 ahead still got that heavy feeling.. I was having dreams that someone was following me, but every time I looked back all I saw was this black skinny looking thing hiding behind something so it made sure I didn’t see it.. but I did barely.. So then a week later still got the heavy feeling and at this time I’m also going thru some hard times mentally.. and I have this horrible dream! I’m in my room and all of a sudden this huge and I mean huge like bigger then big foot probably and just bulky to and all black with white glowing eyes was watching over me and it started to come to me and to overcome me and I’m dreaming but I’m also getting chocked and I can’t get out of my dream I’m freaking out at this point trying to kick scream anything but not working. I finally got out of it (idk how). I woke up taking a big breath and just trying to pull myself together turned on all the lights stayed up for as long as I could told my mom.. she almost beat me

(cause I told her bout the board) but then she grabbed the sage and started doing her thing.

Then a week later I’m in this dream my family is almost home so its just me and my lil sis in the house but I sense something really bad coming.. something started knocking on our back door like real hard then it went to pounding so I’m like this isn’t right we have to hide so I lock me and my sister into a closet and I hear my mom and dad come in thru the front.. but something still isn’t right. So I go back into my room and everything starts flying I mean everything.. so my mom was like I gotta go to the church right now and I tell her wait for me. But she’s out the door and already taking off in the car.. my dad is in there protecting my sis and as I’m chasing down my moms car but stop cause she was too fast.. so I’m at this stop sign just thinking of what to do.. Then this snake pops out of no where and is slowly coming to me trying to bite me.. and then I see him.. Jesus.. he’s telling me to read this bible verse and everything I’m going through will be gone because he’s gonna protect me from now on.. and i keep telling him the snake is getting closer and is gonna bite me. He said “don’t worry, keep reading and the snake will disappear..” and it did.. at that time I was honestly starting to believe in satan.. because everything was just bad for me mentally.. and I was just really hitting the lowest of the low.. and having that dream really was an eye opener..

So now what are we going to do about it?

1st: If you have been involved in any of these things, at any time in your life, you better make sure you’re absolutely clear that nothing is hanging on & nothing is following up, & there’s no dark shadow over you that’s going to spoil your life/future/home/family. You might shrug it off & say, “It was a joke.”

It may have been in your eyes, but it wasn’t in God’s eyes & it wasn’t in the devil’s. When you go to a fortune teller or play with the Ouija board, any of these things. What you’re doing in effect is going to a servant of satan for help.

And in that way you’re putting yourself in a legal obligation to satan. satan will not cancel that obligation until you make him do so.

To make him do so, the best procedure is to renounce that thing out loud in the presence of witnesses. Profess it as a sin, & loose yourself in the Name of Jesus.

It’s almost unbelievable how these things affect people’s lives. For instance, someone will say to me: “Every time I’m feeling really close to God & I’m really beginning to sense the Spirit of God, there’s something that comes down & shuts me off & I just never can get through to God.”

1st Q I always ask them: have you ever been to a fortune teller? 8/10 times the answer is yes.

“Oh but I only did it when I was a little girl.” “Oh it was years ago,…or I didn’t mean anything by it, it was just a joke.”

But you went & you put yourself under an obligation to satan you never cancelled.

I can tell you case after case, where this kind of darkness & heaviness over a life has been lifted by the canceling of that obligation.

Whatever it be, you have an obligation to yourself to cancel it.

Let me illustrate this: What you see & what you do is important, even if you don’t mean it. Under the pressure of the trial of Jesus, Peter 3x publicly denied that he knew Jesus. When the angel of the resurrection gave the message, the message was from Jesus: “Go & tell my disciples & Peter.” [Mark 16:7]

He was no longer a disciple; he had cancelled his discipleship; he didn’t mean it. But he had done it by what he said; & Jesus in His infinite grace & wisdom took Peter aside, then 3x made him profess out loud his love for the Lord. He had to revoke what he had said before, by the right confession.

THIS is exactly true. Getting rid of these things is almost like a divorce. It’s got to be done in a certain sense legally. You’ve got to break the connection.

I’ll just give you an example:

Lord, I confess as a sin that I went to the at fortune teller, I played with that oujia board, or I had my palm read, I studied the horoscope, & a whole dozen of things, I confess it as a sin. Lord I acknowledge that I went to a servant of satan for help. Forgive me Lord, I renounce it, I will never do it again. And I loose myself in Jesus Name every dark influence that came upon me through it.

That will do it, but if you don’t take it seriously, you’ll go on suffering. The curse is revoked in Christ, but you’ve got to enter into that revocation of it.

2nd if you have any literature or other objects, that speak of any satanic cults or worship burn them. Preferably tonight, don’t give them away. Burn them.

This is Scriptural, Exodus 19, the believers brought the books they had & burned them, $20K worth of books.

If you have idols, Buddhas, anything that was made to worship or an honour to some satanic being break it, burn it, throw it out. Get

Things will change because satan was brought out into the open.

I’m firmly convinced that this decade will solve the destiny of America, one way of the other. And even papers like TIME & LIFE that certainly are not slanted in the spiritual direction, have come up with virtually the same conclusion.

Sloth & indolence may be a carnal, but not a holy rest. The sabbath of the Lord should be a day of rest from worldly labour, & a rest in the service of God.

The advantages from the due keeping of this holy day, were it only to the health & happiness of mankind, with the time it affords for taking care of the soul, show the excellency of this commandment.

The day is blessed; men are blessed by it, & in it. The blessing & direction to keep holy are not limited to the seventh day, but are spoken of the sabbath day.

My family and friends used to ask me this whenever religion came up im a conversation, and I think I finally found out.

Because actually, religion is something a lot of people believe in, because they need something to believe in. They need someone to be at fault for good and bad things, like God and Jesus. They need an explanation for things that happened, randomly and unexpected. If you ask them, they're gonna tell you, that "it was Gods will.", or "God knows", or "God is the answer.", and honestly? I don't care. As long as they don't try to aggressivly convert me to some weird christian-shit or other religion, or hurt the people I love, they can do and believe in whatever they want. I am not religious, obviously. But don't get me wrong, I am not against religion. I think it's good to devote yourself to something you cannot fully understand and just be fine with it. That's the reason I believe in stuff like science, because I like stuff happening explained. But I also believe in the mystical site of things, like the deep sea, space or just the mind of your very quiet classmate. I believe in non-materialistic wishes you make when seeing a shooting star, but can't tell anyone because it won't become true then. I believe in the sun rising every day and the birds singing when they wake up with it. I believe in the moon always being there, pale and white, full of scars, even if you don't see it every night. I believe in life from outer space, watching us and making sure we're doing alright. I believe in flowers blooming, spreading nice scents around them as they beautify nature surrounding them. I believe in bees leaving polls on plants so they can grow, be it wheat so we can make ourselves bread out of it. I believe in animals living with each other, making the nature look so amazingly harmonic, even if some have to feed on other. I believe in fireflies to guide your lost soul through the forest-like, shadowed areas of your average city at midnight. I believe in plants listening to your mourning, your laughing, your singing, and growing out of it, because its beautiful. I believe in the power of music, which let's us feel so many different emotions at once, brings back memories, even if it's playing very quietly in a convenience-store in the morning when you skip classes. I believe in demons and ghosts coming over to our world at 3 am because they love visiting their still living relatives and friends, playing games and talking over oujia boards. I believe in creatures that just exist for some of us, making us feel special in a way we can't explain. I believe in people sharing kindness around the world, making everyone happy in such unhappy times. I believe in creativity, creating so many different worlds by letters or pens, that you can't choose which to go next. I believe in knowledge being passed down for generations, making living a normal life back then impossible. I believe in green magic, creatures bonding with nature to listen to her story, thousands of years of knowledge, and love. I believe in the world, nature, space and most of all, in you.

So, I was forced to go to "jesus camp" for my school. While there one of my teachers told a story of how when he threw away a oujia board, a spirit pushed him down a hall (he called it a "demon") and promptly said "that'll teach you not to throw me out of my house." The teacher proceeded to insult the spirit n I'm like. Bitch teacher got what he deserved.

The Cottage City Poltergeist / The True Story Behind The Exorcist 

The story of the possession of Roland Doe in the 1940s is believed to be the real life inspiration behind the film The Exorcist. The boy’s real name was never disclosed by the church in order to protect him after the events of the exorcism. The story was collected for the diaries of a bishop and the testimony of Father Walter Halloran who was one of the surviving eye witnesses to the exorcism and strange events surrounding it.

When Roland’s aunt died when he was 13 he attempted to contact her using a oujia board. After that strange events started happening around the house. Squeaky and marching footsteps would be heard about the house, furniture would move of its own accord, a vase flew across the room, images of Jesus rattled as though they were being punched on the other side of the wall and containers of holy water would mysteriously smash if placed near Roland. His frightened family turned to Rev. Luther Miles Schulze for help. He had Roland examined by both medical and psychological doctors who could not find anything that would cause the strange occurrences. Schulze arranged for the boy to stay with him on the 17th of February. During the night the priest witnessed several strange events. He was awoken by vibrating sounds coming from the bed and scratching sounds behind the walls. An armchair the boy was sitting on raised into the air and tipped over, and blankets flew around the room hitting people in the face. After that night Schulze concluded that an exorcism should be preformed on Roland.

Roland was taken to Georgetown University Hospital for his first exorcism but it had to be stopped after he inflicted a wound on one of the priests that required stitches. He was then sent home, but after strange welts started appearing on the boy’s body his parents sent for the priests again. It is then they discovered that Roland had developed an aversion to anything sacred and holy, he was causing the bed to shake, objects would fly around the room and he had started speaking in a strange and guttural voice.

The priests gained permission to preform a second exorcism on the boy and he was taken to hospital again. During the exorcism words such as “evil” and “hell”, along with other marks started appearing on the boy’s body. He broke one of the attending priest’s noses and it wasn’t until they preformed the exorcism rights 30 times, over a period of several weeks, that Roland was finally considered cured. Many witnesses in the hospital claim to have heard a loud noise the moment Roland was finally free from his demonic possession.
