*Fidi sees Topsy in the distance and discreetly waves at him, gesturing him to get closer and mouthing the words “hunt” and “Juu”*

*Topsy raises his head up to look at her, past the wheelbarrows, waiting for them to pass before approaching her, panting a bit* "H-Hey...did you get the bodies?" *He looks to the carcasses piled up in one of the wheelbarrows, as they're poured out and into a large vat, so they can be processed* "Or...are they those ones there?" *He says, speaking quietly; though honestly, Dogwood wasn't paying much attention, focused on preparing the food*

''Hello people! I'm finally back at the Carnivale!

I know I've been missing for quite a long time and I'm terribly sorry for leaving without telling anyone. I've been visiting my mother back in the temple with Crystal. We had such a wonderful time!

But when we had to go back I realized that I was lost. Again. I'm not very good at directions...

So we spent a few weeks lost in the woods until I eventually found the way back to the Carnivale.

So that's it! Feels great to finally be back!''

//Hiiiii! Sorry for dissapearing for so long lol. School's been kicking my ass and I've been feeling with not a lot of inspiration due to stress. I'll try my best to post regularly, but I can't promise anything with my school schedule.

*Ella wandered towards Fidi's tent; the Baron was a bit busy, so might as well visit her friend with the free time, holding her cigarette holder faintly in one hand and fanning herself with her beloved hand fan with the other*

"Fidi darling! Are you there?"

*She was braiding her hair while humming happily, Crystal curled up next to her. She turned her head at the tent’s entrance and headed outside, smiling widely* “Ella! Long time no see you!” *she hugged her, wrapping her tail around her loosely so as not to accidentally break any bones*

*Fídi woke up after a long nap with her dear Crystal, who was still fast asleep, snoring and occasionally wagging her tail in her dreams. She smiled warmly, petted her head and slithered outside, just to be welcomed by the strangest sight she had ever observed*

*Pink clouds filled the sky giving the impression that she was witnessing a supersaturated sunset, with little pieces of colorful paper falling from them like snow, letting her speechless with bewilderment. She rubbed her eyes vigorously to make sure she was still awake, just to confirm this wasn’t a dream* “What in the name of the forgotten gods…”

“Spending some time with Amber! She’s a cutie, although my chest still hurts a bit…”

“Sage told me that two new carnies are joining the Freakshow! I haven’t talked to them yet, but I’ve seen them in the distance. There’s a little clown and the other one is covered in scars. I wonder how he got them…”

“Maybe I should go introduce myself. And you’re coming too, right Crystal?” *she scratches the basilisk head tenderly*

*Fidi was crouched in front of one of her preys, eagerly tearing flesh and organs off as she finished eating. Eventually she raised her head and smiled widely, her face, hands and shirt stained with blood*

“It’s been amazing! I haven’t had this much fun in weeks! The adrenaline of the hunt, their screams, the smell of blood in the air…” *she sighed happily, licking some blood out of her fingers* “And the others also seem to have had a great time!”

“Hi guys!”

“I know I haven’t been very active around the Carnivale lately, it’s just that… all that happened with the calliope beast… Gods that music still haunts me! So I decided to spend some time alone with Crystal as a way to rest.”

“And it really helped! I have all my energy restored.”

“Phew! Thank goodness that nightmare is over! I’ve never had such a terrible experience: first the Calliope Beast and then Penny’s injuries…” *she shudders as she remembers* “Luckily those nice anons offered their souls to save her.”

Fidi, here! *they throw a transportable hole that opens into a tent under her and crystal. fidi comically falls in, and goes inside*

*Because of her being guarding the door she didn’t first notice the hole in the floor, and fell comically* “Hey what the- AAAA!!” *she and Crystal landed with a thud* “Ough my tail…” *she looked around* “Oh my gods guys! You’re all okay! Oh I was so worried…”

Fidi, what’s yours and what’s crystals favorite food? Nothin’ to do with Twig and me baking, I swear!

“The ‘talking meat’ definitely! I prefer it raw, but those meat pies Twig did in the Major Image night… gods that was delicious! And Crystal likes any type of meat, but she really enjoys rats. Since she’s too slow to catch them herself I sometimes hunt some and give them to her as treats.”

*a living gargoyle approaches* Fidi, hello. I was wondering if I could meet Crystal, they look positively darling! Figure some eye-contact enrichment might make the little dear happy. *they wait for permission, but look obviously vibrating with joy* I’ve always loved basilisks, crawled up to one as a baby!.. y’might’ve seen that, though.

“Of course! Crystal is a sweetheart, she loves meeting new people. Basilisks are wonderful creatures, don’t you think?”

“As for the eye contact… we’ll I guess it won’t harm you at all, heh. Just don’t take too long” *she calls Crystal and carefully retires her blindfold and closes her eyes*

//Still feeling crappy, and bored AF. Polls are always fun, and they seem to get a lot of traffic, so maybe they are easier to see (I dunno, I'm just testing theories at this point - either way, poll fun!)

Ohhh, you’re a hypnotist? What kind of things can you make people do? Like, ‘reveal secrets’, ‘uncover trauma’ or ‘complete control over body’?

“All kind of things! You see, when I hypnotize someone (firstly they need to make eye contact with me) I put them in a trance where their mind and senses go numb; all their thoughts are focused on me and that makes them willing to do whatever I want.”

“This way I can make them act different, believe something that isn’t true, or simply lure them to me. It’s very useful and fun to watch! The crowd goes crazy when they see a grown man act like a donkey or drink a glass of blood thinking that is wine.” *she giggles as she remembers*

*makes sure crystal isn’t showing their eyes with a mirror* *crouches down on ground* *pets the Basilist* crystal baby… hiiii…. Aren’t you a beauty… oh, grickos gonna love you….

*looks up* Fidi your Basilisk is the. Cutest. Ever. You’re very lucky.

*Crystal rumbled happily as she was pat, and Fídi chuckled* “Awww, thank you. I know that my little girl is adorable, I was lucky that I could ‘persuade’ the staff member to let me keep her. Oh, let me put her blindfold back on so you can pet her better” *she grabbed it and avoiding eye contact, she put the blindfold back in its place*

*A few minutes later, Fidi comes out of the dining tent and sees Topsy, waving at him* “Hi Topsy! How are you doing?”

Clowny Chaos

Topsy, on his way to the dining tent, is suddenly stopped in his tracks, Dogwood's cane shooting out from the side to block Topsy's path, standing by the entry way of the tent to wait for him.

Topsy gasps, backing up a bit. "O-Oh, hello sir! Uh, h-how are you today?" He says, forcing a smile. Dogwood huffs. "Don't give me that shit. A little birdie told me you stopped Juu from gettin' his prey." Topsy let out an instinctive, stressed chuckle. "N-No, why would I-" He's cut off as he backs up into something, a deep, guttural growl coming from behind him. He whimpers, looking up to see Juu looming over him, drooling dripping from his fangs as he stares intensely at him.

"But...h-how could you know it w-was me? He c-can't talk - maybe it was s-some other clown." Dogwood chuckles. Nickel peeks out from behind Juu's shoulder, the ethereal Eldritch clown giving him a demented grin before ducking back behind Juu and vanishing. Topsy's eyes widened. "You fucking-" He begins, then clenches his teeth, looking back to Dogwood as he began to step closer.

"You know the rules, clowny, Juu gets what - and who - he wants. I don't care how much that lion fella begged or screamed, you stay -out- of it and let him eat." The little hobgoblin chuckles again, in almost a deranged way as he grew more stressed. "I can make it up to you! Besides, if y-you kill me, my brother'll wreck this whole place, I know he will! A-And I spawned some of Sage's kids, the gummy ones, he'll hate you too!"

Dogwood considered this for a moment, sneering as he looked down at the pathetic little clown. He huffed. "Fine then. I'll give ya a chance to make up for it - find Juu a whole damn Thanksgiving dinner's worth of folks, or you'll be on the menu." Juu purred at this thought, giving Topsy a fang-filled, eager smile. Topsy nodded in a panic. "Yes! Yes, I-I'll do it, don't worry sir, hehe!"
