I had the pleasure of delivering Baby Thalia's gift myself. The look of surprise on the new dad's face when I presented him with gifts will always be a moment I remember. Years ago my husband helped me create a template for the top of this carousel 🎠 It is made of foam board and cardstock then embellished with coordinating decor. Fun fact: this is the only gift that requires me to use a drill. Gender neutral gift for a family that welcomed their 4th little one to the team! I tried something different this time by placing a beautiful bodysuit by @riselittleearthling on the side so that it can be showcased as part of the design. Most definitely this was my experience over the weekend when I was preparing a gift late at night and made a cutting error with my paper punch. My intention was to make a particular border but the punch was in the wrong setting which means it cut all the way through to make a 1 inch ribbon-like cut. I only had one sheet of a particular gold flowered paper. So instead of changing the design, I ran with it the idea and made the most of it. I shared the full reveal of that gift in today's stories. Colton's gift was a fun opportunity for me to reintroduce washcloth art that I hadn't done in quite a while! Specifically, the little cars and airplanes are made of baby washcloths and can be completely taken apart to use. Word of mouth has been extremely powerful for this little side hustle of mine. This gift here is a perfect example, since the client found me through a recommendation from a friend and colleague. This farm-theme gift was a fantastic challenge for me, pushing me to think outside of the box (or barn - haha!) I remember the "criteria" being that this gift could be quirky. It's not the design I had originally intended but changing the idea to a round barn worked out great, I think! Yesterday was the first day of spring, and this gift reminded of the flowers and good weather yet to come.
