Rythm of of the heart (Capitano x G/N!Reader)

tick, tick, tick. 

The grandfather clock echoed in the silent office, as the strongest harbinger sit in his office. Paperwork sprawled across his desk. Capitone didn’t like paperwork, it was boring, something that could easily be done by a foot soldier, not the 1st Fatui Harbinger. He sighed as he slouched into his plush chair. Rubbing his helmet as he stared at the report he is supposed to submit to Pierror soon. The ticks of the grandfather clock matching the rhythm of the pen tap on the wooden desk. Capitano set the paper down, stalling his work. Soft raps interrupted the rhythm of the grandfather clock snapping Capitano out of his boredom. 

“Come in.” His voice is soft as there is only one person who knocks on his door late at night. He watched as you slipped inside his office, you looked so sleepy, your eyes drooped as you walked towards Capitano.

“What’s the matter dear, can’t sleep?” Capitano spoke, resting his head on his hand as he watched you intently. You looked adorable in his clothing, you were practically drowning in his clothes. He was big and he knew it. He smiled as he watched you slip into his lap. 

“Can I just lay on your chest? The sound of your heartbeat helps me sleep.”  Capitano could barely hear you as you nuzzled your face into his chest. Capitano chuckled as wrapped one strong arm around your waist. 

“Of course my darling. Rest all you want, I’ll be here for… a long time.” Capitano sighed as he started to rub the bottom of your back. These paperwork will never be finished. How could he? Not when you're sitting on his lap so cutely. Looks like he’ll just have to pull an all-nighter.

Hello and welcome to my 2023 reading wrap up! A big Thank You to everyone who followed my ramblings throughout the year! <3 I will continue through 2024. Maybe I'll learn how to write proper reviews, at least I'll try to remember better what I actually want to say about the stories. In 2022, I read 93 books plus my own. Guess how many it were in 2023? 93 plus my own!! xD That was huge coincidence and I love it. Of these 94 books, 4 are rereads (which won't be included in the "Favourite" sections), 2 are non-fiction, 11 are non-queer. I only DNFed 1 book (which is not pictured) and other than that I only disliked 6 books! (And it's a pretty soft dislike in comparison. I don't hate them nearly enough to want to shit on them again. :'D).

Most Used Name: I counted names last year and didn't want to do it again this year because I read so much fantasy, so the names were all over. Still, there was one who stood out amongst them all with at least 4 instances, if not more. Probably more.

Congratulations. I have to admit, I've always liked that name. My favourite character of all times and part of my one and only OTP is named Will as well and I kinda hope the last book of their second trilogy never comes because it will probably make me scream and ... ...

Bonus! This year, I counted pages! Because I felt that most books were much shorter than what I read before. So I wanted to know. Turns out, my feeling was wrong. My 93 books had a whole of 33011 pages which results in approximately 350 pages per book. That's pretty normal I dare say.

That's it for 2023! I had a very good year in books. I wanted to read less actually, and failed spectacularly because I had too much fun. And if anyone's wondering how I read so much, I read fast and I just didn't do anything else in my free time. Escapism to the max. I hope, the new year treats you well! 27. Craziest place they had sex?

Sephiroth's office definitely. The back alleys of Wall Market. The Gold Saucer Skywheel. Against a tree after taking down a King Behemoth.

One time Sephiroth is gonna convince Cloud to sneak into the President's office just for shits and giggles. Genesis will be soooo jealous lol.

30. Pet names? Yes/no?

Puppet and Pet after Sephiroth loses his mind. Before that, Pet is still a go-to for him, but also Love.

Neither of them are really big on pet names, but Cloud has slipped and called him Babe before.

34. How do they cheer each other up?

They both kinda suck at this. They're also both really bad at showing they're upset in the first place, but over time learn the signs. Sephiroth will get this tension to him that no one really notices, especially if someone disrespects Cloud in front of him and he can't do anything about it. Cloud will coax him to a quiet room, and take his hand, gently massaging the tension in his palm and fingers. Once Sephiroth relaxes, he'll switch to the other hand and do the same, until Sephiroth is leaning into him, practically resting his weight on him to bury his face in Cloud's neck. Cloud will wrap his arms around him and rub his shoulders until Sephiroth sighs and quietly admits to what set him off in the first place.

Cloud is easier to figure out, but Sephiroth is so socially stunted that it still takes him a while to notice how Cloud will kinda just shut down when he's upset. He'll retreat into his own head, get lost in his thoughts and what if scenarios, and he'll pull away from his friends. Sephiroth learns to hunt him down, and he'll just sit quietly with Cloud, maybe place a hand on his thigh or wrap an arm around his shoulders or hold his hand, keeping his grip loose, but enough to get the point across that he's there if Cloud wants to talk. Eventually, Cloud will relax against him and quietly tell him what's up, and Sephiroth will ask what he can do to help.

27. Craziest place they had sex?

Bunny's Warren. Rooftops. Alleyways. One of North's storage cabinets.

They're trying to figure out a good time to sneak into Tooth's palace and find a spot to christen.

30. Pet names? Yes/no?

Oh yeah. Pitch can't help himself, he's all about pet names. Dear, darling, pet, sweetling, love. They just kinda come to him naturally, but i also headcanon him to be a bit of a romantic.

Jack loves to hear them, but isn't himself big on coming up with them himself. They feel awkward on his tongue, and he's always nervous that he might say the wrong thing. Pitch understands, and isn't bothered by it. Although, the first time Jack calls him "love" unintentionally nearly gives him an aneurysm and he clings to Jack for days afterward.

34. How do they cheer each other up?

Snuggles. Lots and lots of snuggles. Eventually, they'll talk about what caused the problem in the first place, but until then, they're both gonna curl up in bed and simply hold each other.

I had been so damn busy over the course of the last weeks, so at least i was very distracted from all the cases of losses and illnesses around me... Since interest has been shown, tugs! And their relationships. A few of the main ones for now. Warning: weird crack ships.

GOD this has been my longest Thomas and friends OTP and they aren't even from the same show. But yeah with me it's these two for the win.

- as soon as top hat saw her he knew she was gorgeous. He couldn't help but fall in love as he got to know her. She was charmed by him quickly as well.

- A lot of humans, engines, and the other tugs felt it weird that a tug and a engine were mates, but the two didn't care.

- she calls him toppy (only she can) and dear. He calls her my darling, my dear and my sweet emerald.

- top hat is very fond of grand gestures like gifts and fancy dates. She adores these, and often gives him similar dates and gifts.

- he hates James, but somehow when Emily is with him he keeps to himself. If James does start trouble Emily shuts him down. She is very proud whenever top hat can go an hour without fighting James.

Honestly this one came from no where other than my conflic on who to ship Thomas with (both were considered) and I ended up with this ship.

- Tc was very embarrassed to admit he liked Rebecca after a while of knowing her. Even with top hat and Emily together (and stardust claiming an engine as her crush) he still didn't think engine and tug were supposed to date. Rebecca just thought Tc was cute but wouldn't like her back.

- while accidental, Thomas got them together when he accidentally pushed Tc into a ditch and Rebecca got stuck trying to help. They kind of got emotional and confessed like they were not making it out alive.

- he calls her babe, Becca and big banana. She calls him tenny, love and baby.

- they love having little runs (where ten cents swims and Rebecca runs by the water) together.

- tc taught Rebecca how to swim, and while nervous she ended up having a good time. They sometimes swim together near the shore of the beach.

Basic option but it's popular for a reason (at least Herc x Lillie and Herc x Zorran but Zorran x Lillie deserves some acknowledgement)

- before Lillie came to Sodor, Herc and Zorran became quite close. If she didn't reunite with Herc when she did he would have gotten with Zorran (first).

- Lille was the one with the idea to become a poly couple. She could tell the men were pining and she also thought Zorran was a catch so she through the idea out there.

- Zorran doesn't use any pet names. Lillie calls both the others boys, Herc hunk and Zorran boss (jokingly). Herc obviously calls them both my dear

- the three rarely go on triple dates, since one is usually busy. But when they are together they like simply just being in each others company.

- Zorran is still a bit of a jerk, and definitely still argues with tc especially, but he is very sweet and melts at the touch with his partners.

4. Their favorite show to watch together?

you know those life changing anime with only one season and twelve or so episodes in total? yeah, they'd be into that. i also see taylor being into a lot of action/horror movies cause she likes the thrill, ben just happens to enjoy spending time with her, so he's down to watch anything tay is into.

22. Love languages? How do they get around differences, if any?

physical touch >>> they are huggers and they are cuddlers. in this essay, i-

they hardly get into really big arguments, and any differences that they have is communicated as best as they can to avoid it from getting too much.

30. Pet names? Yes or no?

ben isn't too big on pet names, but he'd definitely enjoy calling taylor by her full name (cause he's a sap and he happens to love her name cause it's hers <3)

taylor is chock-full of pet names, from the usual dear, to darling, to sweetheart, to the sillier ones (she got it from her mom)

Just another day at the dorms:

Changbin, races up to Felix, takes one look at all the blood and faints:

Seungmin, drags Felix out of the dorm and into a car to drive him up to the hospital:

Jeongin on the phone: What happened at the dorm? It looks like a murder zone

Seungmin: Oh right I forgot about those idiots. Can you call an ambulance for them and make sure they're alright

Jeongin: oh god OH GOD WHERE'S THE BABY!

Seungmin: Lix is with me. He's getting stitches in his finger. He cut it opening up a can while he was making lunch.

Jeongin: okay bring my.. our baby back home safe and sound. I'll deal with the Hyungs and lunch

Seungmin: thank you darling

Jeongin: no probs. Tell mt dear jagi, I'll be cuddling him heaps when you get home

Seungmin: will do. Bye! *Ends call*

Felix: Look Minnie! The plaster has 🐥 all over it
