iâm breaking my rafe-only content blog for u elle i hope u know how much i love u đˇđââď¸ âŹď¸
âDo you think my hair will get just as luscious as yours did after you got back from Winterfell?â
no fr how is he serving face every episode of s2
Luke didnât, which was why he was so antsy to get there and almost didnât pack the fur lined gloves their mother had laid out for them.
glad to know the universal lack of appreciation for mothers telling u to wear a coat is seen in game of thronesâ dragon fantasy
âNyke ivestretan zirČłla, paktot Vermax?â Jacaerys whispered to his dragon, stroking Vermaxâ neck with his gloved hand and the creature let out a puff of smoke. I warned him, didnât I Vermax?
do u google translate this or do u know high valyarian (is that how u spell it?)
âAh, the infamous Prince Lucerys,â Cregan said with a smile, shaking Lukeâs hand. Based on his face, Jacaerys could tell his brother was struggling to keep a straight face; Creganâs handshakes were nothing but firm.
baby boy lukie ur aliveee đĽšđĽšđĽšđˇ
âTen and eight, my lord. And please, call me Luke.â
bro what does that mean r u eighteen
Jacaerys almost tuned out Creganâs voice as he introduced you, but it was like your name was ringing in his ears. He was sure he had never been quite taken with any lady as with you right from the first meeting. Jacaerys cleared his throat, hoping his voice would come out even.
i feel like iâm being introduced like iâm in bridgerton
His eyes lingered on your slender fingers for longer than they should have.
bro have u ever had a womanâs touch
The way you accentuated the honorific had Jacaerys sweat, something he never thought heâd do in Winterfell.
this man has, in fact, never met a woman
He wondered if all women from your land looked like you or if it was just you that had him so enthralled
why r u thinking of other women đ¤¨
He couldnât even understand what it was about you that had him so shaken to the core. Jacaerys had never been the kind of man who stuttered around when it came to women. He knew what he had to offer, he knew a lot of women found his status appealing.
âwho stuttered around when it came to womenâ bro ur giving mr darcy energy from pride n prejudice
But something about you was justâŚ. Infuriating. It made him lose his footing.
yo what did i do

âWhat did you think of her friend?â Luke finally asked and Jacaerys rolled his eyes. There it was. âSheâs pretty, right? I think she might be interested in me.â
no i am 20 thatâs illegal / no thank u
âExactly. She makes you shiver in your boots like a child and swallow your words like Vermax does goats.â
đ˘ đ˘đ˘
âYou can refer to me as anything you want,â Jacaerys said quickly. Too quickly.
itâs like his first crush hehe
âI wouldnât want to seem disrespectful,â you added. âFolks are already whispering about the âforeign ladyâ, I do not wish to give them more reason to be suspicious.â
YO-
A corner of your mouth tugged up in a grin. âYou wish to be close with me?â
omg iâm such a flirt đââď¸đˇ
âAnd who is going to tame that one wild curl that always does whatever it wants at the back of your head?â
they r so brothers-coded we were ROBBED in the show (i havenât watched a single episode)
âThese are usually my chambers I stay in when I visit Winterfell,â you said nonchalantly, taking in the chambers and Jacaerysâ possessions that laid scattered around. âYou can imagine my surprise when Cregan told me it was occupied for someone else when I arrived.â
this wouldâve started our enemies to lovers storyline đ
Your mouth quirked up in a smirk and you brushed your hair back with a flick. âI must say, I have to admit that I thought you less nervous when no one was around.â
omg iâm such a flirtttt
âYou make me nervous because I do not know how to act around you. You make me stutter, lose my footing. I was never anything less than charming when it comes to talking to ladies, but you for some reasonâŚâ
i call bs đ
Jacaerys dared to glance at you, swallowing thickly when he realized that you had come closer, his eyes roaming over your exposed skin. He exhaled sharply, feeling his cock stirring in his breeches, thankful that his tunic was untucked, covering his excitement.
BREECHES TOOK ME OUT đđđâď¸ iâm crying
âYou donât even know the affect you have on me⌠You had me on my knees,â he murmured, pushing your gown up. âIâm the crown prince of the seven realms. I donât kneel for anyone.â
oh this line EATS
âI will die an immediate death if I donât,â you said, extremely serious. âLay back.â
damn i am dickmatized
âI really enjoyed your company,â you then said, your voice a bittersweet tone. Jacaerys pressed his nose against your neck, biting back the question if you wanted to come with him, see Kingâs Landing. He knew he was being foolish.
and he is pussywhipped goodnight đ´
final thoughts â i had so much fun reading this. itâs fun navigating this new fandom even though i know next to nothing except for snippets off of tiktok. also.. the language is so different and i love how u cater ur writing style to the fandom youâre writing in (obx feeling more modern versus this one is more eloquent + medieval). also some of the words choices took me OUTânothing on ur writing, but because i giggle when i read stuff like breeches hehe (7 year old boy mentally fr). anyways, i love love LOVE the dynamic youâve written for jace + luke, like that was the spotlight for me. theyâre so BROTHERS with that dynamic and itâs devastating weâll never have that experience in hotd. also. baela who? đ¤
and i burn for you (and you donât even know my name) | j.v

summary:

âDo you think my hair will get just as luscious as yours did after you got back from Winterfell?â
Jacaerysâ rolled his eyes at his brother. They were on their second day of journey from Kingâs Landing to Winterfell. It was to be Cregan Starkâs name day and he had cordially invited Jacaerys and his family to the celebrations. His mother could not just leave her throne at Kingâs Landing, and Daemon wouldnât go without her. Joffrey, Viserys and Aegon where still too young to go, so only Jacaerys and Luke rode to Winterfell on dragonback. They couldâve made it in one day if they had wanted to, but they were in no hurry. Well, Jacaerys wasnât. He knew what temperatures were expecting him. Luke didnât, which was why he was so antsy to get there and almost didnât pack the fur lined gloves their mother had laid out for them. Jacaerys couldnât wait until the biting, cold winds hit Lukeâs face for the first time. He would treasure the memory forever.
âHar har, good one,â Jacaerys said dryly. âThe court jester should watch out or you will be going for his position in no time.â
Luke grinned at his older brother wickedly, opening his mouth once more to say another jest, Jacaerys had no doubt about it, but the words died on Lukeâs tongue when the winds suddenly turned cold, whipping his hair around like icicles.
âSeven hells!â he cursed and Arrax let out a soft whine, not used to the coldness, just like his rider.
âNyke ivestretan zirČłla, paktot Vermax?â Jacaerys whispered to his dragon, stroking Vermaxâ neck with his gloved hand and the creature let out a puff of smoke. I warned him, didnât I Vermax?
It wasnât much longer until the two brothers reached Winterfell, their dragons landing just in front of the gates of town. Jacaerys could already see Creganâs imposing figure standing by the gate as he climbed off of Vermax, carefully patting his snout. He took the bags off his saddle, Lucerys doing the same before leaning his forehead against Vermaxâ.
âSČłz valonqar. Umbagon va, ao rČłbagon issa? Se jurnegon hen syt Arraxâ Good boy. Stay near, you hear me? And take care of Arrax.
Vermax let out a soft rumble, pressing his snout against Jacaerysâ hand, before he and Arrax leapt back in the air, disappearing across the woods with few wing flaps. Jacaerys wasnât sure where exactly they went, but he assumed it was some warm cave. Winterfell didnât exactly have a dragon pit.
âWoah,â Luke gasped, astounded by the amount of white surrounding them.
âI told you,â Jacaerys said, shouldering his bags as Cregan approached them, several pages in tow.
âPrince Jacaerys!â Creganâs voice boomed across the snowy field, before he stopped in front of the two princes. âWhat an honor to have you.â
The two men sized each other up, before breaking out in laughter as Cregan pulled Jacaerys into a hug.
âIt is good to see you, my friend.â
âAnd you, Cregan,â Jacaerys replied, patting Creganâs back that was cloaked in a warm fur. He really ought to ask him what animal pelt it was, he never seemed to be cold. Luke was shifting on his feet next to him and Jacaerys took a step back to introduce his brother.
âLord Cregan, this is my brother.â
âAh, the infamous Prince Lucerys,â Cregan said with a smile, shaking Lukeâs hand. Based on his face, Jacaerys could tell his brother was struggling to keep a straight face; Creganâs handshakes were nothing but firm.
âLord Cregan, it is an honor to finally make your acquaintance.â
âI have heard much about you.â
âAh,â Luke sighed, hand still enclasped in Creganâs. âIâm sure all lies.â
âOnly good things, your brother has shared high praises of you.â
Luke glanced over to his brother in surprise and Jacaerys only raised his eyebrows at him. Cregan finally let go of Lukeâs hand, clapping him on the shoulder, sending the younger man nearly flying.
âHow old are you, Lucerys?â
âTen and eight, my lord. And please, call me Luke.â
âVery well,â Cregan said with a grin. âYouâre the prime age of a young prince, Luke. Are you courting anyone?â
âNo,â Luke replied, his cheeks reddening. Jacaerys only snickered, ignoring the deathly glare his younger brother sent him.
âNo worry. There are a few of very beautiful ladies that will be attending, maybe one or two will catch your royal eyes.â
Cregan gave Jacaerys a knowing look, but he only rolled his eyes, stretching his hands, the coldness starting to seep into his gloves.
âI am about to lose feeling in my limbs, can we continue this dreadful conversation inside?â
âOf course. I apologize, I forget that you are not accustomed to our weather,â Cregan said, motioning for the pages to help the them with their bags. âLetâs get you into the warm, shall we?â
Cregan lead the two brothers towards the Great Keeps, giving Luke a very brief rundown of the grounds as he did. Jacaerys could already feel his fingers warming up; he even dared to take off his gloves.
âWe are currently having tea, I would love for you to join but if you wish to get some rest, we can meet again after,â Cregan said, stopping in front of the dining halls.
Jacaerys glanced over to Luke, who only gave him a shrug. âI could do with some food.â
âAs do I.â
âVery well.â
Cregan pushed open the door to reveal a lively dining hall, one that Jacaerys was familiar with. He spotted faces he recognized, when his eyes stopped in the middle of the table, surprised to see Lady Alysanne Blackwood sitting next to you, someone he didnât recognize. Immediately, you turned your head to look at him, as if you had felt his eyes on you. Jacaerys tried not to falter under your gaze.
âWhoâs that?â Luke whispered and Jacaerys fought the urge to elbow him.
âThe Princes Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon!â Cregan announced, causing a ruckus as everyone pushed their chair back to stand. You only followed after Alysanne gently nudged you, folding your hands in front.
âThank you for having us,â Jacaerys said, him and Lucerys both bowing. âPlease, sit.â
As everyone took their seats again, Cregan led him and Luke to the middle of the table, where three seats were empty next to Alysanne and you.
âMy princes, may I introduce Lady Alysanne of House Blackwood and Lady-â
Jacaerys almost tuned out Creganâs voice as he introduced you, but it was like your name was ringing in his ears. He was sure he had never been quite taken with any lady as with you right from the first meeting. Jacaerys cleared his throat, hoping his voice would come out even.
âLady Alysanne, itâs nice to see you again,â Jacaerys said, bowing to her as Luke followed suit.
âThe pleasure is mine, your graces. I hope your journey was swift,â Alysanne replied. âI hear you travelled on dragonback.â
That seemed to pique your interest as you straightened your back, eying Jacaerys with a new found interest. Jacaerys tried to ignore the heat unfurling in his lower stomach. He had seemed to take beat too long to reply, because Luke cut in, throwing a look at his older brother.
âYes, my lady. It only took us a day and halfâs journey.â
âAh, I envy you. To travel on dragonback and have a short journey. It took me a moonâs turn to get from Raventree Hall to Winterfell,â Alysanne said with a small sigh, turning to you. âNearly took you two moonâs turns, didnât it?â
Jacaerys had kept his eyes steadfastly on Alysanne as she spoke, but when she turned to you, he took the chance to do the same. You nodded, fingers between the stem of the chalice you had been drinking from. His eyes lingered on your slender fingers for longer than they should have.
âTwo moonâs turns is quite a long journey,â Jacaerys finally pressed out, hoping his voice didnât sound odd. âWhere in the Seven Kingdoms does your house lay?â
Your eyes met his for the first time and Jacaerys felt like he was looking in the eyes of a predator, as if he hadnât been riding a dragon for nearly all of his life.
âI am from a land beyond Essos,â you finally spoke, voice as smooth as honey. Before you could continue, Alysanne whispered something under her breath and you let out a small laugh, shaking your pretty head, speaking again. âIâm afraid weâre not part of the Seven Kingdoms, *your grace*.â
The way you accentuated the honorific had Jacaerys sweat, something he never thought heâd do in Winterfell. He managed to give you a wry smile; luckily, Cregan finally gestured towards the empty seats and as Jacaerys sat down - two seats away from you - he let out a breath of relief, desperate for a quick respite. His behavior was mortifying and unbefitting for a crown prince.
âAre you alright?â Luke whispered from his left as he reached for a particularly large meat pie. âIt is unlike you to let me do the talking.â
Jacaerys waited as the butler poured him some mulled wine, only stopping him when it was nearly full to the brim. He lifted the chalice, taking a big drink from it, feeling Lukeâs eyes on him the whole time.
âIt appears the journey has tired me more than I had expected.â
Luke narrowed his eyes at him, but as soon as he bit into the meat pie, the suspicions slid of his face.
âSeven hells, what kind of meat do they put in these?â he almost moaned, already reaching for another. Slob, Jacaerys thought, reaching for some bread himself, leaving his brother to his own world as he discovered the cuisine of the North. Jacaerys glanced over to his friend, but Cregan was in the middle of a conversation with Alysanne; they were speaking in hushed tones, Jacaerys could barely make out a word even though he was sitting right next to them.
The way Cregan was whispering to Alysanne suggested a certain familiarity; a familiarity that Jacaerys was surprised by; he hadnât known that Cregan had taken on a lover, and Alysanne no less, though he could see what had drawn his friend to her.
Jacaerys didnât pay attention for half a second before his eyes impulsively laid on you. He didnât want to be caught staring, but you seemed preoccupied listening to Alysanne as she talked, so he allowed himself a few moments to take you in. Your hair fell over your shoulder in soft waves, the bodice of your dress was snug around your chest. The more he looked, the dryer his throat became, suddenly the bread in his mouth tasted days old. Letting out a soft cough, Jacaerys reached for his wine, nearly finishing all of it in one to, desperate to quench his thirst.
He wondered if all women from your land looked like you or if it was just you that had him so enthralled. Jacaerys was lost in thoughts so deeply, he didnât even realize that Cregan had turned his attention to him.
âDid someone catch your eye?â
âWhat?â
Jacaerys teared his eyes from you to look at his friend, who was sipping on his wine, eyebrows raised. Despite trying to seem nonchalant, the crown prince knew a pink flush creeped on his cheeks; heâd blame it on the wine if Cregan would ask.
âI was enjoying the festivities.â
âYouâre surely enjoying something.â
âIâm positively not enjoying this conversation,â Jacaerys sniffed. Cregan laughed, placing his heavy hand on his shoulder. Jacaerys tried not to falter under it.
âI like her. Sheâs a good friend of Lady Alysanneâs. Though if her behavior grates you: her land does not have a king or queen, so she might not be familiar with our customs. She is also especially forward; I fear that was a given, considering the company she seeks.â
Jacaerys knew immediately what Cregan was alluding to. Alysanne had a reputation for not holding her tongue when something displeased her, there were a good handful of people who quite dislike her for it.
âIâm sure you will get along with her fine, my prince.â
Jacaerys hummed, glancing over to you for a split second before looking away for fear of being caught again, but in doing so, he missed you looking back at him with raised brows. After the table was cleared, you and Alysanne excused yourselves to your chambers. Jacaerys stared after you until you disappeared from sight, his hands clasped.
âLet me show you to your chambers for some rest,â Cregan offered. âJacaerys, I had the same chambers prepared as last time.â
The three men walked through the hallways of Winterfell once more, stopping in front of Jacaerysâ chambers.
âSomeone will fetch you for supper, please get some rest in the meantime,â Cregan said, clasping Jacaerys on the back. Jacaerys glanced over at Luke, who waved him off, so he entered his chambers as Cregan walked Luke to his, with the latter chattering excitedly.
As the door shut behind Jacaerys, the chambers were engulfed in silence and he was finally able to breathe. The room was comfortably decorated, of course in no way as lavish as his chambers in Kingâs Landing, but everything he would need was there. Taking off his cloak and his doublet, Jacaerys hung them over the small bench that sat near the fire, before he laid down on the bed, staring up the canopy with a sigh.
Gods, he really needed to get it together. He would not allow himself to act like such a fool in front of you again. He couldnât even understand what it was about you that had him so shaken to the core. Jacaerys had never been the kind of man who stuttered around when it came to women. He knew what he had to offer, he knew a lot of women found his status appealing. But something about you was justâŚ. Infuriating. It made him lose his footing.
Jacaerys was still questioning his life choices that led to this moment, when the door suddenly flung open, and he knew immediately who it was without having to move; there was only one person in whole Winterfell who would barge into his chambers like this.
âYour chambers are so much nicer than mine!â Luke crowed, throwing his hands up in the air before he dropped onto the bed next to Jacaerys. âI do have to say, even though it is freezing outside, the Northeners know how to keep it comfy in their chambers.â
Jacaerys let out a small sigh.
âWhat are you doing here, Luke?â
âGods, why are you such in a sour mood?â
âMaybe because I am tired from the journey and youâre sitting here talking about meaningless things,â Jacaerys lamented with a pointed look in his younger brotherâs direction, who only pursed his lips, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
âLet me move onto meaningful topics then,â he agreed. âYou didnât tell me Lord Cregan is betrothed to Lady Alysanne.â
âHeâs not, as far as I know,â Jacaerys replied, resigning himself to the fact that Luke wasnât going to leave anytime soon. âI was taken by surprise just as you were.â
Luke didnât answer; for a brief second Jacaerys wondered if he had fallen asleep, and he wasnât sure if heâd be happy about or not.
âWhat did you think of her friend?â Luke finally asked and Jacaerys rolled his eyes. There it was. âSheâs pretty, right? I think she might be interested in me.â
âWhat makes you think she would be interested in you?â Jacaerys pressed out, annoyed. He knew Luke was baiting him, but what if he wasnât? His younger brother turned over to look at him, the corners of his mouth tugging up.
âI knew it. Youâre absolutely smitten with her.â
âDonât be ridiculous. I barely exchanged two words with her,â Jacaerys said defensively.
âExactly. She makes you shiver in your boots like a child and swallow your words like Vermax does goats.â
âBlasphemous,â Jacaerys snapped, his cheeks growing hot. âIâm the Crown Prince of the Seven Realms, I do not get flustered around a lady.â
âI cannot wait until you talk to her again,â Luke remarked gleefully.
Jacaerys reached over to grab one of the fluffy pillows that was resting against the headboard to whack Luke in the face with it.
The next day, Jacaerys found himself with some time by himself. Cregan was greeting some more of the guests that were arriving for his celebration that evening, and Luke had wanted to see the training grounds of Winterfell, so Jacaerys ventured out by himself, walking the walls. He passed a few guards, who bowed respectfully as they marched past him. They asked if he got lost, if they should walk him back inside where it was warm, but he declined.
Despite the cold snow that was falling from the sky, Jacaerys enjoyed leaving the castle for a few moments. Winterfell was peaceful, the white that covered the grounds allowed him to breathe, a stark contrast to the grounds of Kingâs Landing. As the cold winds started to pick up, Jacaerys turned to head back, but he stopped in his tracks when he saw you standing by yourself at the wall, staring out at the distance. Jacaerys hesitated.
His interaction with you last night at supper was⌠Passable. He had managed to keep the conversation going, he still wasn't happy with himself. But this was unfamiliar territory, he hadnât ever been alone with you. What if he made a fool of himself?
Before Jacaerys could decide what to do, his feet already carried him over to you. At the sounds of the snow crunching under his soled shoes, you turned around, your eyebrows risen in surprise. Your cheeks were red from the cold, despite the fur-lined cloak that engulfed your shoulders.
âOh, itâs you,â you said, your breath visible in the cold air.
âOnly me,â Jacaerys confirmed, bowing his head slightly in greeting. You did the same. âCome out here for some quiet?â
âSomething like that, â you sighed, eyeing him briefly. Jacaerys tried not to flinch at the clear rejection and pressed his lips together.
âI should leave-â
âNo, please, donât leave on my behalfâŚ. My prince.â
You added the honorific after a brief pause, and Jacaerys stayed rooted in his spot. You seemed like you were in deep thought, and your voice was hesitant when you spoke again.
âI am unsure as to what the difference is, if Iâm being quite honest. Do you want me to refer to you as my prince or as your Grace?â
âYou can refer to me as anything you want,â Jacaerys said quickly. Too quickly.
The frown on your face smoothed, a grin growing in its stead. âIndeed?â
âI meant,â Jacaerys pressed, trying to sustain any sort of dignity. âYouâre not from Westeros, you do not need to address me as your Grace or my prince.â
âI wouldnât want to seem disrespectful,â you added. âFolks are already whispering about the âforeign ladyâ, I do not wish to give them more reason to be suspicious.â
Jacaerys felt a flash of hot anger coursing through him at the belief of anyone uttering a bad word about you.
âAre you being mistreated, my lady?â
A laugh escaped your lips. âI did not tell for you to fight in my honor, I have endured worse than some meaningless gossip.â
You tossed your hair back, and for a brief second, your scent carried over to Jacaerysâ nose. You smelled⌠Sweet. A scent that was unfamiliar to him, but not exactly unwelcome. With a small sigh, you turned your head to look at him. Damn it, did you say something?
âSo... Your grace or my prince?â
For some reason, either address didnât feel right. Well. They felt right, but not right. Never before had Jacaerys felt anything when being referred to with the correct title except for a sense of respect and pride that he was being recognized for his status. But for some reason, having you address him with either had Jacaerys feel things in regions where he shouldnât. And both seem equally catastrophic.
âEither is fine,â he finally settled on. âBut if no one is around⌠It is alright for you to call me by my given name.â
âJacaerys?â
A shiver ran down his spine at the sound of his name rolling of your tongue so easily. He was done for. No matter what you referred to him as, it made him weak in the knees.
âOr Jace.â
âIs that not improper?â you asked. âI would hate for folks to think Iâm getting too familiar with the crown prince.â
He definitely wouldnât mind getting too familiar with you.
âMy friends call me that⌠And people that Iâm close with.â
A corner of your mouth tugged up in a grin. âYou wish to be close with me?â
Jacaerys flushed, stuttering. âI-â
âIâm only jesting,â you said, your gloved hand reaching out to touch his arm and even though there were about five layers between, Jacaerys could *feel* your skin on his. He was in trouble. âI will address you properly in public but if no one is around, JacaerysâŚ.â
Your voice trailed off and you took a step towards him, leaning in so you could speak to him in a small whisper.
âI hope we can become friends.â
With that, you bowed your head, stepping back and turned to depart, leaving Jacaerys standing by himself. He exhaled a breath - a breath he had not realized he had been holding this whole time.
Somewhere in the distance, Jacaerys could hear Vermax screech out, no doubtedly feeling exactly what his dragon rider was struggling with.
âYes, Vermax, you and me both,â Jacaerys muttered with a small sigh, enduring the cold for a little while longer before he retired inside, knowing he had to start getting ready for Creganâs celebrations soon.
âHow much longer are you going to stare at your reflection?â
Jacaerys resisted the impulse to roll his eyes. He was tense enough as it was, giving into Lukeâs teasing was not going to help it.
âIâm representing mother at this celebration, a single hair out of place and rumors about my legitimacy as heir might start,â Jacaerys pointed out, wiping off the fleck of dusts that sat on the shoulder of his doublet.
âOf course, we would not want that,â Luke said, his voice taking that annoying tone which Jacaerys knew meant he wasnât taking him serious. âYou are most certainly not trying to look absolutely perfect for a certain lady.â
Jacaerys met Lukeâs eyes through the mirror, his forehead creased. âI did not ask you to wait for me. No one is stopping you from going by yourself.â
Luke sighed, pushing himself off of the bench to approach him, hands reaching out to smooth out Jacaerysâ cloak.
âAnd who is going to tame that one wild curl that always does whatever it wants at the back of your head?â
Jacaerys winced when Luke gently tugged on said curl, setting it in its place, before the younger prince grinned at him through the reflection as the two of them stood in front of the mirror, Luke's shoulders slightly higher than Jacaerys'. He despised the fact that his younger brother was starting to overtake him in height. Jacaerys hoped that Joffrey would stay shorter than him.
âYou look fine, Jace,â Luke assured him. âAnd even if a hair might be out of place, she will think it charming.â
Jacaerys decided against deeming that comment with an answer, instead straightening his shoulders.
âLetâs go then.â
The two brothers headed the the Great Hall and the closer they got, the louder the music became. Jacaerys tried not to pick on his clothes as they walked through the hallways, knowing he was just being antsy at this point. When they finally reached the threshold of the hall, the herald bowed to them both respectfully, waiting until the music quietened down, the guests looking at them.
âPresenting His Grace, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, heir to the Iron Throne, and his brother, Prince Lucerys Velaryon of House Targaryen!â the herald announced.
The guests all bowed, which Jacaerys and Lukereturned, before they were being led to their seats and Jacaerys tried not to stumble over his feet when he realized that Cregan had sat Luke to his right, whereas Jacaerys sat next to him.
Right next to you.
Jacaerys ignored Lukeâs smirk as he sat down, and instead offered you a small smile.
âMy lady.â
âYour grace.â
You sent him a conspiratorial smile, before your attention refocused to Cregan, who suddenly stood, lifting his chalice.
"Good evening, my dear guests. On this occasion, the celebration of my name day, I am deeply honored to be surrounded by such loyal friends, family, and allies. I thank everyone who made their long and burdensome journey to celebrate this day with me. Raise your cups, my friends, enjoy the festivities, the music and most importantly, the food. Now, let the feast begin!"
Everyone clapped as Cregan took his seat again, the lively music beginning to play. Immediately, people rose to occupy the dancefloor. You stayed seated, sipping on your wine and Jacaerys watched you out of the corner of his eye, reaching for his own wine, hoping it would ease his nerves. You looked pretty; wearing a dark red dress, the fabric seeming to melt against your skin like it was sown onto your body. Jacaerys tried to not let his gaze linger too much on your cleavage, which was tasteful, but still incredibly distracting. He couldnât help but think how you and him seemed to be dressed to compliment each other.
âYou look very beautiful,â Jacaerys blurted out. You turned to him, eyebrows risen in surprise and his cheeks reddened. âI apologize if it was too forward, I-â
âYou look very handsome yourself,â you said, returning the favor with a grin. âAt least I know what took you so long to get here.â
By now, Jacaerys was sure that the color of his face rivaled the color of your dress.
âThank you,â he said, fingers tracing the stem of the chalice. âI try to look my best.â
âIt is working in your favor, my prince,â you all but purred quietly, making Jacaerys grip his chalice so tightly, his knuckles turned white.
âAre you alright?â
âFine,â Jacaerys pressed out, letting a small sigh pass his lips. âI apologize. I am usually more⌠Composed,â he admitted. You raised an eyebrow at him, but he couldnât help but feel like you were biting back a smile.
âAnd youâre not composed right now?â
âNo. YouâŚâ he paused, letting go of the chalice, stretching his hand out. âYou make me nervous.â
He dared to look up to you, searching for any sign of distaste, only to see your gaze focused on his hands, before you lifted your eyes to meet his.
âHow?â
âYou vex me.â
âIn a good way, I hope.â
Jacaerys let out a breathless laughter, shaking his head. âIn a very much not good way. This is not behavior befit for a crown prince.â
âWell, itâs just your luck that I have not a single idea of what behavior is befit for a crown prince,â you assured him, placing your hand on his, presumably to console him. It had quite the opposite reaction. âIt is just me, you may speak freely.â
âI-â Jacaerys paused, his eyes darting around the countless of guests mingling in the Great Hall, the threat of a listening ear everywhere. âI cannot.â
You nodded in understanding, but Jacaerys could tell that his answer had disappointed you by the way you turned your head away from him. Silently, he cursed himself, feeling the desire for you coiling in his stomach, but unable to act on it.
For the rest of the night, Jacaerys tried to pick up the conversation with you again, and while you did speak with him, it seemed dull, like you were uninterested. He felt incredibly stupid, knowing he had messed up, but despite that, he couldnât jump over his shadow to address the problem. So he didnât. He pushed his disappointment in himself aside and tried his best to control the jealousy he felt whenever you accepted the dance of another man, acting like didnât care at all, especially when Luke was watching, shaking his head.
Cregan was luckily too busy to entertain his guests to meddle, occasionally drawing Jacaerys into his side to clink their cups. Overall, (despite his personal failings) the celebration was a success. It was late in the night, nearing the hour of the wolf when Jacaerys finally retired to his chambers. He had dropped Luke off at his own chambers just before, his younger brother having one too many of the mulled wine and immediately dozing off in clothes.
Shutting the door with his foot, Jacaerys unpinned his cloak, tugging his doublet off, draping it over the small ottoman. His hands were in the collar of his tunic, ready to take it off when short raps on his door made him pause. Was that Cregan fetching him for another drink?
Jacaerys opened the door and his eyebrows rising in surprise when he saw who it was.
âMy ladyâŚâ
You were standing in front of him, dark cloak slung around your shoulders, about the last person he had expected to come knocking on his door after his last conversation with you had gone. Your face was bare from any trace of cosmetics, but your cheeks still held a rosy glow. Jacaerys peered out into the dark hallway, expecting a handmaiden or anyone accompanying you, but alas, you were by yourself.
âIt is late. Is something the matter?â he asked, concerned.
âEverything is fine,â you assured him. âI was feeling a bit restless, I was wondering if you were up for some company?â
Despite feeling exhausted just a few seconds ago, Jacaerys was wide awake now, his heart thrumming with excitement at the prospect of spending time with you alone. But he couldnât help but hesitate, questioning whether it was smart of him to put himself in a situation he couldnât control, especially with you.
You sensed his hesitation, tilting your head curiously.
âI can leave, if you wish.â
Before you could even attempt to retreat, Jacaerysâ hand shot out to stop you, and as he saw the amusement on your face, he knew you had never intended to leave.
Minx, he thought to himself, opening his door wider to let you inside. Swiftly, you passed by him and Jacaerys made sure no one saw you enter, before shutting the door. As he turned around, he found you had already settled on the cushioned couch, appearing comfortably at ease.
âThese are usually my chambers I stay in when I visit Winterfell,â you said nonchalantly, taking in the chambers and Jacaerysâ possessions that laid scattered around. âYou can imagine my surprise when Cregan told me it was occupied for someone else when I arrived.â
Jacaerys tried not to imagine you laying in his bed as he sat down on the bench.
âThey are the chambers I stayed in when I visited last time. I assume Cregan wanted me to feel comfortable.â
âThe lengths we would go to to make sure you felt comfortable,â you said with a look in his direction and Jacaerys flushed, clearing his throat.
âDo you like these chambers for a reason or are you merely a creature of habit?â
âThese are the only chambers that donât have the fire place directly facing the bed,â you explained, your arms gesturing to the layout of the chambers.
âI know the Northeners like to keep the fire on at night to feel cozy, but I tend to get a little⌠Hot.â
Oh.
His mouth ran a little dry and he only managed to blink at you, as you grinned, your eyes slowly trailing down his body.
âI imagine it is the same for you. What is it again, the motto of your house?â
Jacaerys opened his mouth to answer, but nothing came out of it.
âFire and blood?â finally pressed out and you arched an eyebrow at him.
âAre you asking or telling me?â
âTelling.â
Your mouth quirked up in a smirk and you brushed your hair back with a flick. âI must say, I have to admit that I thought you less nervous when no one was around.â
âYou thought me less nervous when it is just you and I alone in a room?â
âNow when you say it like thatâŚâ you mused. âI told you that you do not have to worry about your behavior, I do not know any of the rules you have to abide by.â
âThatâs not why Iâm nervous,â Jacaerys said with a small laugh and you creased your forehead, looking at him questioningly.
âIs that not what you told me at supper?â
Jacaerys sighed, a chuckle leaving his lips and he had no other choice than to confess.
âYou make me nervous because I do not know how to act around you. You make me stutter, lose my footing. I was never anything less than charming when it comes to talking to ladies, but you for some reasonâŚâ
Your face contorted from confusion to understanding and then glee.
âAnd I was starting to think you were letting me down easy.â
âI- what?â The indignation in Jacaerysâ tone made you laugh. âLet you down? Surely you must be jesting.â
âWhat was I to think? I was not exactly being subtle, my prince.â
Jacaerys bit down on his lower lip, nearly hard enough to draw blood, but he eased off.
âIâm trying my best to uphold my honor. And yours.â
You let out a small laugh, lifting your hand to deftly unhook your cloak. Jacaerys averted his eyes as soon as the cloak slid off your shoulders, but he could out of the corner of his eyes that you were wearing nothing but a nightgown with long, see through sleeves. Jacaerys had never seen a nightgown like that before.
âWould it not be dishonorable to deny yourself what you truly want?â
Jacaerys dared to glance at you, swallowing thickly when he realized that you had come closer, his eyes roaming over your exposed skin. He exhaled sharply, feeling his cock stirring in his breeches, thankful that his tunic was untucked, covering his excitement.
âWhat if your future husband would cast you aside knowing you have laid with another man?â
You smiled at him, your hand reaching out to trace the neckline of his tunic.
âI think if my husband were to cast me aside for enjoying the pleasure of sex, he is not the right man for me.â
Jacaerys held his breath as you looked at him through your lashes. He managed to stay wrong for about three more seconds, before he let out a frustrated groan, his hand curling around to pull you close, pressing his lips on yours.
You sighed softly into the kiss, your mouth pliable as Jacaerys moved against his, the kiss nearly driving him insane.
He needed more.
Tightening his grip on your waist, Jacaerys pulled you into his lap, situating your legs on either side of him.
âI have been going insane,â Jacaerys whispered against your lips, his finger tips dancing up your arm. âTrying to keep my composure, act like a prince, but one look from you and I lost the ability to string a sentence together.â
âPlease,â you gasped as his hand wrapped around the back of your head to tilt it back, placing featherlight kisses on the column of your neck.â Cregan was telling me to behave - for once - because his great friend, the crown prince of the Seven Realms was to attend his nameday celebrations, but how could I when youâre just so-â
Your sentence trailed off in a sigh and Jacaerys pulled back to look at you, an eyebrow arched.
âI am so...?â
âInfuriatingly handsome.â Your voice was breathless as you spoke, hands slipping under his tunic and Jacaerys lifted his arms to help you take it off before you discarded it to the floor carelessly. âLike you were carved out of marble.â
You caressed him with your fingertips over his chest, your touch so tantalizing he had to shift his hips to ease the pressure on his breeches, a motion that did not go unignored by you at the sound of the small whimper that left your mouth, a sound that went directly to his south. He leaned in to kiss you again, before maneuvering you off his lap, standing so he could lead you over to the bed. His touch was gentle, but firm as you followed his lead to lay down at the edge of the bed, your nightgown bunching up at your calves.
âYou donât even know the affect you have on me⌠You had me on my knees,â he murmured, pushing your gown up. âIâm the crown prince of the seven realms. I donât kneel for anyone.â
He might make an exception for you.
With his hands on your calves, pulling you closer, Jacaerys got to his knees, peppering small kisses on your inner thigh, making you squirm. He could smell the warmth of your musk as he neared your cunt, your smallclothes displaying a small patch of wetness he couldnât help but be thrilled by.
âLift your hips,â Jacaerys said, and when you did, he tugged your smallclothes off easily. He let out a soft breath when coming face to face with your cunt, sliding one finger through your folds. The moan out of your mouth sounded like heaven to him.
âJaceâŚâ you sighed and his breeches got impossibly tighter, but he wanted you to finish first before he could even think about himself. Jacaerys applied a little pressure on your pearl with his thumb, inching closer, his breath hot on your lips before he licked a strip up your cunt. You responded with a small groan, your hands tangled into his locks and he knew he was on the right track.
He kept drawing circles on the small nub over your cunt, his tongue exploring between your folds, trying to elicit every moan and sigh out of your mouth possible, repeating his motions that seemed to please you the most. Soon, Jacaerys had you writhing on his bed, your hand tightened around his hair in a grip that nearly hurt, but he didnât care.
âJacaerysâŚâ you breathed out, your hips lifting from the bed; he merely pushed it down with his free hand. âDonât- Iâm so..â
Jacaerys nuzzled his mouth even further into your cunt he not thought possible, the circles he was drawing onto your pearl becoming tighter, smaller until you let out an especially loud moan of his name, your cunt pulsating.
With a breath heave, you fell back into the cushions and Jacaerys pulled back from between your legs, not without leaving a lingering kiss on your inner thigh. You looked absolutely marvelous, blissed out on his bed, your sweaty hair sticking to your forehead. If he had to guess, he must not look any better, his entire face must be covered in you.
âIs this behavior befit for a crown prince?â you asked, chest still heaving. Jacaerys quirked a smile at you, brushing his hair back.
âFor a lady like you, without question.â
A small laughter escaped your lips, and you tugged him down to kiss him, your hands slipping beneath his trousers and then his breeches, wrapping around his cock. Jacaerys hissed, bucking into your hands, realizing he was still fully clothes from the waist down. Giving you one last kiss, he reluctantly pulled away from you, taking his boots off, and then slowly pushing his trousers off, his smallclothes along with it.
He couldnât help but flush as he stood in front of your inquisitive eyes, still wearing your nightgown but looking incredibly debauched, your gaze⌠Hungry. He got on the bed, crawling towards you on his knees, fingers gingerly pushing your nightgown off your shoulders - you didnât lift a hand to help him, but merely watched as his eyes grew wide when he finally pushed your nightgown down, as it pooled around your waist.
âYou were made by the gods,â he mumbled into your skin, mouth latching on the sensitive skin of your tits, his other hand gently rolling your nipples until it formed into a stiff peak. He leaned up, kissing you deeply and as he moaned into your mouth, he pulled away, breathing hard.
âDo youâŚâ he trailed off, unsure how to word it.
âI will die an immediate death if I donât,â you said, extremely serious. âLay back.â
As Jacaerys settled into the mountain of cushions, you knelt in front of him, nightgown long gone. You positioned yourself over his lap, just as he had earlier, hand wrapping around his cock to guide it to your cunt, which was still sopping wet. Jacaerys let out a slow, guttural groan as you lowered yourself onto his cock, until he was fully sheated inside of you.
âAre you feeling alright?â he pressed out, his hands finding your hips to pull out incase you were feeling uncomfortable.
âPerfect,â you breathed, lips parted and eyes hooded. You leaned a hand on his chest, impulsively rolling your hips and Jacaerys moaned, throwing his head back. Slowly, the two of you found your rhythm as you rode him, in slow, but deep hip thrusts. His chambers was filled with the sound of skin hitting skin, whispers of his name and moans of yours. It wasnât long until Jacaerys felt the familiar tension in his lower stomach, knowing he was close, while you were still moving on top of him, head thrown back.
If he had it his way, he would shoot his load into you, making you his, but the last thing he wanted was to trap you, so he stilled your hips, holding you in place and turning you so he was on top of you. Your hair fanned out on the bed, and Jacaerys kissed you, tongue licking into your mouth as he drove your cock into you with deep, but slow thrusts; his thumb was pressing into your pearl simultaneously.
âJace,â you whined, your walls clenching and he nearly lost it right then and there. âPleaseâŚâ
Jacaerys snapped his hips into you harder, leaning his head against yours as he did and after one particular deep thrust, you held onto his bicep as you moaned his name in a way that would ingrain into his brain for the rest of his life and he quickly pulled out, before he emptied his load in thick, white spurts onto your stomach. With a small groan, Jacaerys collapsed onto the bed next to you, neither speaking for a few seconds, catching your breath.
Jacaerys was the first to rise, pushing his hair back, standing to find a wet rag to clean you up. His touch was gentle as he cleaned your stomach, disposing of the dirty rag, lingering on the side of the bed.
âDo you want to stay? For a little while, at least?â
You turned your head to look at him, corners of your mouth tugging up. âIf youâll have me, my prince.â
Jacaerys snorted out a laughter, settling into bed next to you, making sure to pull up the blanket to cover your naked body, even though a warmth was emanating from you, it was rivaling his own.
âAre you sure youâre not a distant kin of Aegon the Conqueror?â he asked, pressing a soft kiss on your shoulder. âYou would fit right into our house.â
âI find it very flattering that you think I have royal blood in me,â you laughed as your fingertips traced along his arm.
âIt is only a question,â Jacaerys mused. âI think you would get along well with my mother.â
âA foreign girl in front of the esteemed queen of the Seven Realms? I wouldnât stand a chance. Her royal knights would behead me as soon as I curtsied the wrong way.â
And as the fire crackled in the far corner of the chambers, pressed against your side, Jacaerys knew that while you spoke in jest, he wouldnât mind you meeting his mother, even if that was highly unlikely. Coming the following morning it seemed like he would never see you again, with you returning home and him returning to Kingâs Landing.
And while he was a dragon rider, he wasnât sure if that distance would be easy for him to cover, considering the fact he had duties he had to attend to.
âI really enjoyed your company,â you then said, your voice a bittersweet tone. Jacaerys pressed his nose against your neck, biting back the question if you wanted to come with him, see Kingâs Landing. He knew he was being foolish.
âAs did I yours.â

thank you so much nonnie!!!! đđđ i appreciate you!!! iâve absolutely loved writing for genshin, so iâm glad that the community is thriving with so much content aaaa â¤ď¸ warms my heart...
anon 2 asked:Â Iâm not sure if this has been asked before or not, but have you read/watched Togashiâs other work Yu Yu Hakusho? If you havenât, I think youâd definitely like Kurama.
i have heard of it but i havenât watched it before! i looked up the design for kurama and wow... he is a very pretty boy. he has these mysterious vibes that makes me think i would like him. if i ever get around to watching it iâll keep an eye out for this boy đ
anon 3 asked:Â If you don't mind me asking, what other games do you play besides genshin?
my cycle of playing games is kind of messed up by genshin right now since thatâs the main game i play whenever i get hit with Gamer Urge. however, the games ive enjoyed the most recently other than that would be divinity original sin 2, darkest dungeon, pokĂŠmon, animal crossing, and fire emblem!
anon 4 said:Â it's nice to see a fellow hu tao simp! i was so excited to see you make a yandere hu tao x reader,, i rarely see any x reader content of her so i just silently suffer most of the time đ ty for feeding us hu tao simps good food op i will be reading that story religiously everyday đ
we need more hu tao in this world, i fully agree. every time i see her i just canât help but smoke... i think itâs the super cute hair. long pigtails 𼺠ANYWAYS you have god tier taste anon. i trust anyone that loves hu tao.
anon 5 said: i am going to kiss u on the forehead as gently as i can,,, that hu tao fic was absolutely deliciousâ¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
THANK YOU NONNIE!!! i was worried at first over how much macabre hu tao typical dialogue to incorporate into a fanfic, but i ended up content with the balance. she can be soft when she wants to, after all. iâm happy that you enjoyed it!
anon 6 said:Â You posted the harem HCs right after I finished work and it was such a treat to read. I love them. I know you obviously didn't write them for me in mind but thank you for brightening up my day!
PHEW what good timing!! i end up working on my writing on and off throughout the day and finishing it around the time people (in american) time zones would be getting home. iâm glad that you were able to enjoy the headcanons after a day of work!!
anon 7 said:Â I loved the Liyue reverse harem, how can you be such a good write???Xiao being a puppy is actually cute and I love this concept
i was looking forward to including vigilant xiao watching over his crush the most đ itâs just an adorable sight to picture. heâs such an intimidating figure, it canât help but melt your heart that heâs there to ensure youâre always safe. the main trick is writing the most self indulgent stuff, anon. that is what produces the best you have to offer because youâre having such a good time writing it.
anon 8 said: akfhdsh Lock why was that Zhongli fic so hotđĽ?? Ahh I haven't been able to get it out of my head ALL day & 5000 words? You are superb đ I can't help but feel so sorry for poor darling. Having to do that with him on the very first night, man didn't even give her a break/a chance to settle down. Either way I'd love for you to throw some concepts here & there if you can đđ or share your afterthoughts ^_^  the universe in this one felt especially great! I wish you the best of luck, take care <3
itâs all because of the random zhongli dream anon đ i couldnât get him out of my mind until i wrote a loooong fic for him. the idea of his darling being with him since the archon war days is my favorite! iâve always had a soft spot for it, ever since i was trying to figure out what a yandere zhongli might look like back in november. itâs just... genuinely horrifying to imagine being stuck with that for thousands of years. especially when people view rex lapis so highly in liyue, darling feels even more alone on her festering feelings. thereâs no relief to be had.
i think iâll do a big ol headcanon post because the world for yan zhongli and his god darling is so big, iâve given it a Lot of thought. but the main gist of it is how darling deals with the inaccurate portrayal of their history together. and of course, she interacts with others, since zhongli has the reassurance from the contract that she wonât try to escape. so thereâs a lot of angst there. đ
anon 9 asked:Â Hey! any plans for more Hu tao content in the future? your last story was just really gooood, she's such an interesting character! I've also been hooked to Rosaria and I'm wondering if you plan to write for her aswell... hopefully no one asked this already lol
iâd love to write more for hu tao!! she is a character that i adore a lot. currently, i donât have any ideas for her that would get me going, but once i see one or get hit with inspiration sheâll make a reappearance. i do have a few hu tao requests so hopefully those will help inspire me. AND ROSARIA... 𼺠WHAT A WOMAN. i want to learn more about her!! iâll write for her when her stories and voice lines are all out, that way the characterization is more accurate. she captured my heart with that distant attitude and those listless eyes đĽ°đĽ°
anon 10 said: hi hi!! i just wanted to say i discovered genshin impact bcs of you! i saw your yandere genshin posts back in november, i didn't know anything abt genshin or their world but i read it and just googled their names to know their appearances lmfao and until then i just fell into a rabbit hole of genshin. i eventually grew tired of not knowing anything abt genshin and its lore so i craved around early january and downloaded the game despite me not rlly being a gamer⢠and now i'm here at ar 51, a hu tao main and no, i haven't touched grass since downloading the game đ
ah yes, welcome anon, to what could be considered heaven or help depending. if you were able to get hu tao then iâd say youâre in the latter camp (aside from having to grind for her ascension materials, that is pure suffering). itâs a fun game to get into during this quarantine/spotty lockdown time, so i hope youâll enjoy your time with it! iâm glad that mihoyo releases content often enough to keep us well fed.
anon 11 asked: Lock dearest, have you ever watched Jujutsu Kaisen?
i like that super cute girl with short finger hair!! iâm planning on watching the show when itâs completed, which i think is soon? ill binge watch it. iâve recognized a lot of my favorite voice actors from the clips iâve seen posted, so iâm excited to give it a shot.
anon 12 asked: You watch Demon Slayer? It's really great đ¤Ż
iâve seen clips of the amazing animation before! itâs currently on my list of shows to watch. đđ

Fucking told him its a huge red flag if someone doesn't get rid of their apps. Multiple apps. Smh đ "oh yea i don't use them anymore" proceeds to use fb dating app" for real come on bro!
Some comments of the post:
"If you have to be checking up on your Partner then you shouldn't be with that person.. Idk how people have time for all this .. love yourself and know your worth.."
"If you're in a serious committed exclusive relationship you should not be on tinder. That's how I met my fiance and as soon as we said we are gf and bf and exclusive we both deleted it. Honestly if I was her I would have broken up with him too"
"a person also has a right to trust their gut feeling and check things out if something's not feeling right. Knowledge is power"
I've already discussed this but this news clip further validates my point of the topic, nothing more. I could call him out on hs bs further with detail, but I won't....yet, out of respect even though he probably doesn't deserve it. Til he reaches me & apologizes for everything he's done, i can say whatever tf I want & i could make a whole damn list.
Its the events of this what happened that started our downfall to begin with cuz i didn't trust him & he didn't even try to gain it back just left it as is when I could've turned my back right then & there, no apology either. Didnt apologize much actually, not even when i last saw him. But from then we spiraled & he got bored of me. I wasn't giving him what he wanted in whatever way & he wanted to find more. Closed himself off from the beginning & that created his boredom đ
Would've had a blast together like a normal fucking couple if he was less closed off, & wouldn't have felt the need to do shit behind my back.
I'll stop talking about it for now, I have the anger & urge to keep going but I wont...actually no Screw it im pissed đĄ but ill keep it light. Its just not fair, I did so much for him but I was disrespected in different aspects of the whole relationship. Fuck! I've talked about the positives alot cuz i do love him..but the negatives are such bs too.
I want a good ass sincere apology for all of it so I can forgive him & move on, ive already apologized myself even though I dont think I should have to đ. Didnt even give me a straight answer for the breakup, it was always a different excuse when I know he just wanted to pursue other women without me around im not fucking stupid. His own toxicity was too much even for himself & I was in the line of fire, to where i was the toxic one? No fuck that its unacceptable, he always lied when it came to covering his own ass.
For all i know he's watching me squirm & taking pleasure in all the pain I'm going through over him cuz he likes the attention. But no I actually don't think so on that one he's still good & ill give him credit where its due. But I gave him all the attention he wanted/needed & still wanted more from someone else. Really dude fucking really!?
Man up & own up to your mistakes, speak to me where I can actually hear ur voice speaking back to me with sincerity. We'll apologize together. Yea ull be pissed about this, but after u get over it & calm down. Give in & call me, granted when ur ready, & open up for once in your damn reserved life. Itll help us both with more closure & may even take a weight off our shoulders if we just talk it out, no arguing...since we're done there's no point anyway..a friendly non judgment zone cuz idc, i won't think of u any less.
U confused me during & especially after the relationship cuz i didnt know who u really were, i know the good cuz that's what u allowed me to see, ive accepted the bad that I knew already & from what ive learned...i accepted u regardless.
I always forgave u & not cuz im passive, cuz forgiveness is what the Bible teaches.. ive forgiven u & myself the best i could especially with the last things ive showed u, (accept this part cuz im pissed rn & standing up for myself, ill delete eventually maybe if u ask cuz nobody wants to be seen any less of a person. but I can make it alot worse, calling me the mistake was the worst thing u ever said to me & pointing out your faults so u can be better throughout the relationship was my only toxicity to u) we actually never really fought except the 1 time, just argued a tiny bit rarely about little things.
Ive tried using every ounce of my courage to show u how much im sorry for any wrong ive done. but its up to u now to make things right. U know me, ive always said that u can talk to me about anything. I want to be able to trust again & move on whilst staying friends. What else do u have to lose, might even have a great heart to heart convo dude to dudet
Everything ive ever said up to this point lies all my Questions. But here's most of the list, we both were equally in control of the relationship. Maybe u didn't want me to? But doing everything I had to for myself & the household, what u & ur parents wanted of me & just me being me cuz i had to, u had your own part to play & did provide...but did u actually not want me to cater to u if it were a sign u were lazy or something? Like did u not feel worthy of me? What is it u think is my "addicting personality" that isn't fixable on the surface? What is it really that u didnt like about me? This is why i don't have closure, u left me like this, confused as well as wanting more since u held back so much. Was that on purpose to give me even more false hope & want me to pine over u? Did u ever or do u still, love me at all? What did u want from me & out of the relationship, what was the purpose of it from ur perspective & why do u think i couldn't give that to u? What did i lack that u felt compelled to not tell me so I could improve & vise versa so we both could improve? Why wouldn't u allow me to help u become a better man when (I shouldnt have to btw), its exactly what u wanted but maybe didnt see it? Do u realize your own faults even as u do them? Lol. Like i genuinely want to know as much as the good ive seen, cuz to be better the more open of a person u are the more u understand yourself too.
Unless claiming u want to be a better man is part of ur alluring charm in love bombing process to land a caring girl on purpose lol...god I hope not, that would just mean u rinse & repeat like a for real narcissist đ¤ seriously tho look into that im not even kidding, im asking cuz i care. Im pissed now but 1 thing is that im trying to not put ur behavior against u cuz maybe u can't help it, its just the way u are, all ive seen & experienced points to maybe 50% of u lol. Ive always suspected narcissism, a real psych problem that might be worth looking into. But yea 1 of the reasons especially why im so forgiving & trying not to put it against u, why i still care despite u being a dick lol. I chose to look past it, all the time & up to now cuz I understand what its like to have psychological ailments. The worst part about it is most dont realize it, so i encourage u to do some research & self reflection & admitting it to urself are the 1st steps. Okay? There's different kinds & levels to being 1 too, i found that fascinating. bryan is definitely a different type, ur more lighter than that...definitely not the worst which is the physical harm type. Trust me its worth finding out more about yourself, just dont use it to ur advantage in a bad way but i trust u to do right & grow. Not sure a discarded supply (ie me) has ever tried telling a narcy what they might be for the benefit of their own self awareness đ¤,idk if its ever been done, but theres a 1st for everything? U can find alot on it in quora digest alone but Google is also ur friend.
You always were worth every effort of mine to help u in any way to be happy, & i was most happy when u were. U mean alot to me still, its the effect u had on me, I was under ur spell lol its hard to rid myself of it still, not sure when it'll pass. I chose to see it as a gift rather than a curse, that ur effect on me is still so strong when I shouldn't give a damn. If u really are a narcy, then I understand & don't put alot against u cuz its just the way u are & i need to accept it, but if it somehow helps u to help yourself cuz of it, then whats the harm? But, even in doing this or having my socials public for u...maybe just feeds into what u want...i still dont care, I want u to see how bad or good im doing without u in my life, so u know im okay at least. U promised friendship, least I can do is allow u to keep tabs on me too we spoke of, on my end of things.
The 18th of June was the last time i saw u. It'll soon be a month ago in about a week & a 1/2 & your birthday would mark 2 months. Cant believe we couldn't even last through to that đ
Mark my words playa I will be contacting u on that day lol. Can't ghost your homie forever sweetie

I was going to squee about my space-cat but I just got shotgunned through the Chains of Harrow quest & subsequent orbiter thing so instead Iâm going to spew my thoughts everywhere. I have too many emotions about this ok. WARNING: Massive story spoilers (for many quest lines), massive gameplay spoilers, massive worldbuilding spoilers, BASICALLY NOTHING BUT SPOILERS UP IN HERE. You probably donât want to read this unless 1. youâre caught up on everything including 2. you dgaf and find me nattering about a game you donât play interesting. (~2200 words.)
I. Gameplay/Mechanics
Chains of Harrow is VERY WELL DONE, jfc. I continue to be impressed by Warframeâs execution. Some previous quests werenât quite ideal but this one... this one was on point.
(Shout-out to my game dev friend who does totally unrelated stuff and their ANGUISHED GROAN when I asked how theyâd do the one bit with moving the audio around in their not-Warframe engine; they stared into Hell as they contemplated it. âBut Unreal engine apparently lets you do it just fine.â Itâs so fun to be reminded that one engineâs effortless task is another engineâs âthe only thing that eclipses the suffering this would require is your hubrisâ.)
There were spoopy screen effects, not that Iâm surprisedâ already seen plenty of demonstrations of what they can do when I get flashbanged or fade in/out of a menu. One section has you chasing directional audio aka heading towards wherever the sound is coming from. (This was the worst section for me, I had to pause three times to get my panic wrangled.) The talking-heads approach to story, combined with the setting, combined with a few lite-cutscenes & one interactive segment... was actually fucking perfect. I usually feel like the exposition-dumps are somewhat contrived and aggravating, but here I was SOLD.
If I had any criticism, itâd be that the spoopy starts wearing off like 1/3 of the way in and just keeps eroding until the end isnât spoopy at all. It didnât feel like a deliberate tone-shift, just that they ran out of jumpscare (which is what the spoopy is 100% made of) and didnât really replace it with anything. I donât consider it a drawback though... if it had actually been scary the whole way through Iâd be a gibbering jelly. Also everything else going on is so fantastic that I prefer the lack of distraction.
I did laugh when the main combat section goes Ghostbusters: you have to trap a spoopy in a box you toss on the floor, complete with a glowy beam trapping said spoopy. Mild grumble because I wasted a dozen traps before I googled wtf to do in that section (hint: APPLY BULLETS TO BAD THING) but fine, if I hadnât been accidentally lied to I would probably have tried that first instead of faffing around.
Final âbossâ fight was indeed kind of a bear but I was warned beforehand that I was gonna get punched out like forty times so when I only got punched out thrice it was like all my namedays had come at once! HOLY FUCK DONâT DO IT BEFORE YOUâVE DONE THE GARA QUEST THO & GOTTEN AN OPERATOR AMP ON CETUS. This quest predates all that BUT THE AMP IS GOOD. EVEN A BAD AMP IS BETTER THAN NO AMP. So... hot tip, get your little shit a little piece of shit and be thrilled when you can actually kill the boss fight adds in under 12 hours.
Ok no I have one true criticism: BLOOD ISNâT RED WAX, WHY WERE THE BLOODY MESSAGES ON THE WALL THAT COLOR. Actually they were... really 3D... ... ...maybe it WAS wax? Where the fuck did the spooperson get so much red wax for writing creepy messages?
II. Story
So the story is that you get a haunted I mean hecked up transmission, itâs spooky; you go to a fucked-up empty ship and find one Red Veil chick just hanging out with her cat. She says a lot of baffling things and then forty ex-Red-Veil zombies/ghosts/possessed assholes try to murder you, ineptly. Ok maybe theyâre less inept if theyâre not going in ultra-slow-motion. (My god, I will never stop being happy that Frost Prime was my first frame. So good and useful when Iâm going into shit blind.)
You haul RVC (Red Veil Chick) out of there and plunk her ass down in the Steel Meridian camp because I guess the factions like each other enough for casual favors like that. She says some more barely-less-confusing shit and very earnestly (thereâd be dewey eyes and heaving bosoms if she wasnât wearing a full-body-inculding-head suit) begs you to go find some relic. Off you go to another fucked-up empty ship! UNNECESSARILY CREEPY WHISPERS lead you to said relic, which was the thing Rell focused on for soothing because most sensory stimulation was too much for him. Wait, what? And then ASSHOLE MCINVINCIBLE tries to stick his hand up your ass like a puppet and if youâre me you sprint in circles for 30 seconds crying while the NPC frantically tries to get you out.
You go back to RVC and she does a seance. It works. To summarize/paraphrase including story bits revealed further into the quest line, Rell was one of the Tenno who got shunned out of the gaggle even before they all got Tennoâd. Apparently this put him in a position to discover what the fuck is in the Void, at which point he had his meatsack body killed so his mind(/soul/whatever) could be chained to his specific âframe, leaving him awake/conscious to keep doorstoppering the badbadnotgood, even while the other Tenno were off snoozing per the Lotusâ plans. A line of RVCs (Red Veil Chicks) were in on this and dedicated themselves to... looking after him, inasmuch as you can look after someone who shoveled themself into a robot thatâs been chained up somewhere itâll never see the light of day. They could talk to him anywaysâ I guess they were mostly there to keep him from going bonkers and maybe intervene if anything ever went wrong.
Anyways, thatâs all fine right up until it isnât; RVC & the Lotus determine that his transference fucked up and fragmented so you need to go Ghostbusters the creepy phantoms of this guyâs psyche. Collect them all while dodging ASSHOLE MCINVINCIBLE (and a smattering of forgettable mooksâ fuck off Infested, I donât care if itâs your ship) and RVC thanks you/tearfully asks you to take them back to where his âframe rests so he can die because THATâS ENOUGH SUFFERING FOR ONE PERSON THANKS.
Nothing gets to be easy, not even that, so when you find the âframe and start snapping its chains it wakes up. RVC has about five seconds to go âthaTâS NOT RELLâ while your little shit self scurries behind a pillar before boss fight! Red Veil operatives (except dead or mind controlled or who knows what) try to punch you out while some kind of awful red glowing tear pops in and out to fireball you. But eventually you snap all the chains and yaaaay Rell gets his eternal rest. (Iâm not crying, youâre crying.)
III. Meta Story/Worldbuilding
Itâs SUCH A THING to me that RVC casually knows what the Tenno are. I mean, ok, makes sense because the RVCs were so involved with Rell, buT LIKE. MAN. NOBODY ELSE KNOWS. THE âKIND OF HAVE A CLUEâ PEOPLE STILL DONâT KNOW MORE THAN âIF YOU DISSECT A WARFRAME YOU WILL NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT EXPLAINS WHAT THE TENNO AREâ. Fuck, I think the RVC even dresses down the Lotus over it a la âfuck u, u say theyâre ur kids but u suck and u never knew about Rellâ.
They completely skate right past RVC setting up shop in the hyper-secret Steel Meridian HQ. âYeah, no big, me and my ouija board are gonna hang out at the secret base of a completely different faction, which happens to be located like three centimeters from the balls of the genocidal maniacs they defected from. Sorry you keep seeing my kavat in the background of my transmissions.â W h a t . ?
...ok, side thoughts out of the way: OH FUCK OH FUCKOHFUCKOHFUCK THE MAN IN THE WALL
As of this point in Warframeâs existence (out of game I mean) they have done... not the WORST job defining the Void, but of course a lot of it hasnât been written out. (Both because good storytelling and also because the writers probably havenât gotten that far. :p) Things we do know:
The ship of people who got stuck in there was (afaik) 100% casualties among all the adults. Fuckers all went feral apparently? But the kids lived. Although they came out weird and dangerous (understatement). People do still go into the Void atm, generally via opening a portal on another planet. People... donât always come OUT of the Void, although presumably they come back out often enough for the major powers to feel like itâs not a waste of time to ransack that shit. I donât know where they stuck this lore but iirc thereâs some kind of horrible THING in there that basically shoves some kind of hijacking device into you, if it catches you, and then it controls you forever. (IDK if dying gets you out of it or if it can just be like HA HA NICE TRY MEATPUPPET and get you back up. With how this setting is, could go either way.) This is why all the Void tilesets have a variety of mob types: the THING has been hijacking the assortment of factions that wander in. Like I said, people donât always come back out during those expeditions.
So the first badbadnotgood hint I personally played through was at the end of The War Within (Space Lilâ Shit 2 Electric Boogaloo, Now With More Tremors). Itâs blink-and-youâll-miss-it brief, but while Space Dad is congratulating you, your Operator suddenly stares into the camera, eyes turning into voids, and a creepy voice taunts you, something about âdonât forget what you owe me kidâ or the like. Itâs a single line, but the way the camera snaps around (complete with some fucking over-the-top visual effects) & Space Dad catches your arm while you shake it off... thaaaaaatâs not a trivial hallucination.
Anyway. Among other things, during the Chains of Harrow the RVC is very fucking explicit about how Rell was grappling with/cockblocking a specific âvast and indifferentâ entity that lives in the Void. Offhandedly, The Lotus dismisses this while mentioning that basically all Tenno have mentioned or claimed similar things. (RVC keeps on insisting.) Right before Rell finally dies, he asks whoâs gonna take over his job if he stops, and the RVC coos that all the other Tenno will have to help now.
I have been told by one friendâ without checking around, so could be wrong, butâ that once youâve finished the Chains of Harrow youâll periodically get jumpscared on your ship by a creepy asshole who looks identical to your Operator, but has a different (asshole) voice. Said friend randomly turned around once and what looked like their Operator was sitting on their nav console. And taunted them. Said friend sprinted down to the transference pod to make sure their Operator was in the right placeâ they wereâ but was pretty freaked out by it.
Obviously, we donât have much more detail at this point, but uH. This is not painting a rosy picture of the shit lurking out there in the Void. To me this is pointing towards some kind of extradimensional horror that you really donât want to draw the attention of... and weâve gone and done that. Possibly even that the Tenno were lucky to scamper away the first time after it got to play with an entire ship of people (some guessing there, but given its asshole moves so far...) and going anywhere near the Void after that was about as wise as standing on a hilltop in a thunderstorm while double-dog-daring Zeus.
Iâm so excited to find out how fucked we are.
Given what the orbiter shit involved, the answer is probably very, and also creatively. BALLAS? WHAT?? WHAT?????
IV. Further Thoughts
I really would love to hear the perspectives of autistic folk. That said, I... more or less liked how the Chains of Harrow handled Rell? The quest established that he was very different; the other kids-eventually-Tenno ignored him, while his mother loved him (Iâm open to other interpretations but everything I heard pointed to sincerity). He had the intelligence and agency to deal with badbadnotgood, and while the RVC had a certain maternal vibe she was pretty damn reverent when discussing what heâd done/was doing. Also (maybe most importantly in my reckoning) he didnât get a happy ending, but he succeeded at what he was doing. By this settingâs standards thatâs a rosier conclusion than almost anyone else gets.
Now that Iâm thinking of it, Iâm racking my brains for any parties that have known the truth of the Tenno and been kindly disposed towards them without getting all maternal/paternal. Iâm coming up blank. (The fuck is with this setting and everyone treating them like kids btw? All indications are that they stopped aging so they look like young teens, sure, but all indications are ALSO that theyâve lived awhile time, even excluding their cryosleep! Iâm willing to believe a certain amount of âtheir brain maturity stalled along with the rest of their aging so they have the hardware of a 13yoâ but that wouldnât undo living long enough to form a small civilization. SOME parts of teenagers not being like adults are hardware, but a lot of it is pure lack of life experience, which the Tenno have in spades by now. Also, you know, THEY PSYCHICALLY POWER SPACE NINJA ROBOTS, SHOW SOME RESPECT.)
...
And now Iâm going to pass out to sweet dreams of tomorrowâs fully-grown space-kitty.

The bell rings just as Kimberly locks her phone, and it doesnât so much as startle herâa feat thatâs become increasingly hard to accomplish thanks to freaky Ranger skills (Triniâs term, of course)âas it does spur her to shove her books into a stack and head for the door. Â
Someone from the other side of the classroomâHarper, maybe, or Rebeccaâlaughs, says something ugly that Kimberly no doubt deserves and that she is absolutely meant to hear. Â Kimberlyâs hands curl into fists, one wrapped tight around the strap of her bag, and, in another life, she probably would turn and throw something just as terrible back. Â But thereâs this awful, uncomfortable feeling in the very center of her chest that took hold when Jason texted her and that alone is enough to double her self-restraint.
Triniâs locker is on the other side of the main building, towards the gym, but up on the second floor as opposed to Kimberlyâs newly assigned one near the front entrance. Â Kimberly has to use a fair amount of evasive action to get there, especially once the second bellâs rung and the vice principal is prowling the halls trying to catch kids without hall passesâitâs not as if sheâs not already stuck in Saturday detention, but sheâd rather not add after school ones to her roster. Â
Because of training. Â Not because she has a standing donut date with Trini on Tuesdays, before they head to the mine.
When she rounds the corner of the stairwell, the girl in question is there. Â Back to Kimberly, standing on a stack of books and scrubbing at her locker. Â She freezes when Kimberly steps into the hall and Kimberlyâs heart clenches at the tension held in the narrow line of her shoulders, at the way she seems to fold in on herself, making herself even smaller than she is. Â Some of that goes away when Kimberly calls out, âHey, Iâve been trying to text you,â but not all of it, not enough of it for the unease to slip away from Kimberlyâs sternum.
âHuh,â Trini hums, still not turning around. Â Thatâs red flag number one. Â âHavenât checked my phone in a while.â Â Red flag number two, considering that if Triniâs not with the rest of them, sheâs all but glued to her phone. Â And, Kimberly notes with a little pride and with growing apprehension, even if sheâs avoiding other people, she never ignores Kimberlyâs texts.
âAre you okay?â Â Kimberly steps further into the hallway, pauses when Trini visibly flinches. Â âHey, T, Iâm worried aboutâ.â
Trini straightens, rolls out her shoulders like sheâs squaring up even with her back still to Kimberly. Â âIâm fine,â she drawls, like everything isnât completely wrong. Â âShouldnât you be in class?â
Narrowing her eyes, Kimberly fires back, âYouâve missed three.â Â Her tone is so much sharper than sheâd intended, but sometimes to cut through Triniâs bluffing, Kimberlyâs found you need a knife.
âZackâs missed the entire day.â
âZackâsâŚZack.â  Kimberly steps closer, crosses the remaining space between them in a couple long strides.  âYou usually give me a heads up if youâre planning on skipping.â
âCan you drop it? Â I just forgot, okay?â
Kimberly doesnât flinch at Triniâs tone, ignores the way her words sting, lodge in the space between her ribs. Â The shorter girl is actually Kimberlyâs height with the help of her textbooks underfoot, but sheâs still not turning to face her, keeps shifting her weightâit hits her then that Triniâs trying to block her view.
Triniâs faster than her on a normal day, smaller and lighter on her feet than Kimberly can ever dream of being, even with years of gymnastics and cheer under her belt. Â But Trini seems off-kilter now, doesnât react fast enough to catch her before she can step just to the side to peer over her shoulder.
âWhoâ,â Kimberly starts as Trini finally turns and says, âItâs not that badâ,â reaching out with her free hand like sheâs going to push Kimberly back.
Kimberly gets why sheâs been avoiding the rest of the rangers now. Â Triniâs blotchy, red nosed, and thereâs blood smeared along her hairline and her full bottom lipânot that Kimberlyâs noticed her lips or anythingâis split down the side, purpling and swollen. Â When Kimberly steps a little closer, she can see the smudge of a bruise along her cheekbone, the redness around Triniâs eyes, like sheâs been rubbing at them too roughly. Â She probably has.
The sight of her makes Kimberlyâs blood boil, the sight of it, the word behind Trini, makes her face feel hotâfour ugly red letters, taking up the entirety of Triniâs locker door, top left to bottom right. Â
âWho the fuck did this?â Â
Kimberly tries to keep the fury out of her voice, she truly does, but if Trini paling is any indication, sheâs failing miserably. Â In her defense, itâs taking every bit of Kimberlyâs self-restraint to not reach around the other girl and rip the door off its hinges, crush it in one move, maybe two if she ripped it in half firstâa move that she is very seriously considering. Â Itâd be nearly poetic, maybe, she thinks.
She doesnât though. Â Not when she notices how Triniâs chin is trembling, how sheâs gripping the paper towels she was using to scrub at the word, white knuckled and fingertips ripping through the damp material. Â She pauses, softens. Â âTrini,â she breathes. Â âDid whoever write that do this,â she gestures to Triniâs face, âto you?â
âIt doesnât matter.â Â Triniâs free hand drops, goes back to press flat against the wall of lockers. Â
âTrini. Â It matters.â Â How could it not? Â How could Kimberly everâjesus, how could she ever not care about this?
The metal creaks, groans beneath the smaller girlâs hand, the door of the locker kitty corner to hers crumpling under her fingers. Â She doesnât seem to notice, her eyes unfocused and somewhere far awayâTrini doesnât flinch when Kimberly reaches out again, gently pulls her hand away from the lockers. Â She doesnât flinch, but she stiffens at Kimberlyâs touch, her eyes darting around the hallway as she shrinks back just the slightest.
Right. Â
Kimberlyâs neverâsheâs been incredibly lucky. Â She knows this. Â Sheâs never had the same bone-deep fear that Trini has, never had the same self-doubt. Â When Kimberly was fourteen, she googled what it meant to want to kiss your friend, found a word for it and, quite frankly, never thought about it again. Â She isnât out at school necessarily, nor to her parents, but sheâs never feared what it would mean if she was, never really had a reason to. Â Even now, after her fall, that confidence is still held in some quiet place inside her. Â
But when Trini was fourteen, she told a girl she liked her and got laughed at, cut offâthereâs more to the story, Kimberly knows, uglier things that Triniâs keeping close to the chest, but the bare bones are enough to put together an altogether heartbreaking picture.
âCome on,â she murmurs, hand at Triniâs wrist, not quite touching her. Â âYou need to get cleaned up.â
âYou donât have to do this.â Â Triniâs frowning even as she steps off her textbook stepstool, eyes settled somewhere just past Kimberlyâs shoulder. Â She crosses her armsâitâs the first moment that Kimberly notices the blood on her collar, dried brown against the yellow of her shirt. Â âYou donât have to help me.â
Kimberly stares at her openly, pressing her lips into a line.  Theyâve allâKimberly knows that Trini is slower to trust than any of them, they all know that.  Theyâve adapted, figured out the best ways to make her feel safe, whole, cared for.  But thisafter as much care that Triniâs shown for them, for her, she should be able to know.  Be able to trust that they all would do the same for her.  That Kimberly would do the same.
Sheâs trying not to take this skepticism personally. Â This isnât the time for her feelingsânot that she has feelings for Trini, because theyâre teammates and Triniâs her best friend andâyeah. Â Anyway.
âYouâre right, I donât have to. Â I want to,â Kimberly says firmly, stepping back and raising her hand to the small of Triniâs back but letting it hang in the air just a hair away from touching her. Â âYouâre my fellow ranger and my best friend and Iâ.â And Iâm probably in love with you. Â âAnd I care about you. Â Let me help.â
Trini doesnât protest after that. Â She lets Kimberly half-guide her to the nearest, quietest bathroomâKimberlyâs got a fairly useful ranking system for every bathroom in the school. Â Which are the nicest, which are the quietest, which donât echo if you sob, which are the least likely place any of her old crowd would be. Â She steers Trini towards the bathroom near the chemistry labs; someone told the incoming freshmen a couple years back that it was haunted and the rumor stuck, even if no one wanted to admit to believing it.
âHop up.â Â Kimberly taps the counter space between sinks lightly, turns away to grab a few paper towels and wet them. Â When she turns back, Triniâs glaring down at her hands, twisted up in her lap, her legs dangling over the edge of the counter. Â âYouâre not going to like me very much in a minute,â she tells her, wringing out the paper towels so theyâre just damp enough.
âDoubtful.â
Kimberly shrugs off a little of the anger thatâs still curled in her fingers, flicking off excess water as she flashes Trini a smile. Â âIs that a compliment?â
The corner of Triniâs mouth quirks up, the closest she can come to a smile without pulling at the split in her lip. Â âTake it how you want it,â she murmurs after a quiet moment. Â Then she lets her eyes close, tips her head back just the slightest.
Kimberlyâs kind of lost for a secondâshe doesnât mean to get distracted by Triniâs insane lashes or the smooth edge of her cheekbones or by how soft she looks or by the thought of how her skin would feel beneath Kimberlyâs lips and the pads of her fingers. Â But then she blinks fast in the harsh fluorescent lights because Triniâs just knocked Kimberlyâs shin with the toe of her sneaker and has her head cocked to the side, eyes open again as she studies her.
âSpace case much, princesa?â Trini teases when she catches Kimberlyâs eye, her brow lifting. Â It must pull at something, because her smirk is dropped in a flash, pain flickering in her eyes before she carefully hides it away again.
Kimberly frowns. Â âSorry,â she mutters, starting to wipe at the blood on Triniâs chin. Â âJust wondering how someone so small could bleed so much.â Â
Sheâs aiming for a joke, but it falls flatâpartly, sheâs sure, because Triniâs feeling like shit right now, but also partly because all Kimberly really wants right now is to somehow ensure that Trini never, ever feels like shit again. Â And sheâsâwell. Â She has no fucking clue what to do with that thought.
Trini doesnât respond, just lets her eyes close again. Â She winces when Kimberly nears her lip so Kimberly works faster, tries to minimize the irritation. Â She tackles the blood at Triniâs hairline next, startling when she discovers a gash hiding among her dark roots.
âJesus,â she hisses, pausing because she doesnât trust herself to be gentle in the moment. Â âTrini.â
âHm?â Â The smaller girl blinks up at her slowly.
âIâ,â Kimberly starts, stops. Â Exchanges the dirty towel for a clean one before she starts again. Â âWho did this?â
âKimberlyâ.â
âBecause I just need to have a chat with them, you know?â
âI can take care of myself.â
âYeah, you can, but you donât.â Â Trini glares at her then, but itâs true. Â Trini takes hits she can dodge if she wanted to, stays quiet when shit like this happens; Trini is fully capable of taking care of herself, Kimberly knows. Â But Kimberly also knows that Trini doesnât think sheâs worth the effort.
Whichâmaybe thatâs whatâs making Kimberly so angry? Â The idea that the girl in front of her sees some warped version of herself in the mirror, some version that doesnât deserve basic respect. Â Because fuck that, honestly. Â This isâ
fuck, this is the girl that sits up with Jason when heâs having a panic attack and doesnât want to let anyone know, the girl that spends nights over at Zackâs when the fear of waking up alone overwhelms him, the girl that is the only one out of them that can keep up with Billy when he starts getting into specifics on his newest project. Â The girl that, after a handful of days of knowing her, ripped off Kimberlyâs defaced locker door and landed herself in detention for it.
Jesus, Kimberly can hardly breathe from the thought of it, from the idea that Trini doesnât see what the rest of them see. Â That she doesnât know that theyâre all just as worried for her, just as protective of her as she is of them.
The air between them is thicker than it was before, heavier in a way that Kimberly canât figure out how to fix, not now, not with Trini looking at her like this, like sheâs tired, like she wants to fight but canât bring herself to. Â And Kimberlyâshe doesnât want to drop itâknows she canât, not really.
But she can bury it for right now.
âIâm sorry,â she says quietly. Â âThat wasnât fair of me.â
Trini turns her glare down to her hands and Kimberly feels the air go out of her lungs when she seesâno, she fucking feels it. Â Feels all the hatred that Triniâs turning inward, feels all the guilt and disgust and doubt and anger. Â Kimberlyâs never been so equally grateful and horrified by the psychic link that holds them all together, that connects them all to the morphing grid. Â Because thisâthis peek into Triniâs head? Â It feels like an invasion of privacy, leaves Kimberly twisted up, twisted around because god, all she wants to do is punch every fucking tooth out of the mouth of whoever did this.
But itâs good to know. Â Good to be able to recognize the way ebb and flow of Triniâs self-hatred, good to be able to know how and when to step in. Â Like now.
Kimberly steps closer, cups Triniâs chin in her hand and gently urges her to look up, hold Kimberlyâs eyes. Â âHey,â she says. Â âWhat I said was uncalled for.â
âItâs not. Â Youâre right.â
Pursing her lips, Kimberly lets out a little sigh through her nose. Â Tries to figure out a neat way to agree with her without feeding into Triniâs cycle.
âMaybe,â she responds finally, gaze falling to the paper towel in her hand and the little drop of water that is snaking its way down her wrist. Â âBut you didnât need to hear it right now.â
Thereâs no response from Trini. Â When Kimberly looks up, the other girlâs cheeks are wet.
Kimberly can count on one hand the times sheâs seen Trini cryâitâs a grand total of four, not including today, and three occurred during times when they all thought they were about to die. Â The fourth was when Kimberly had had the dumb fucking idea to watch The Fox and the Hound, but honestly if Trini hadnât cried, Kimberly would have been convinced she wasnât human.
But sheâs crying now, in front of Kimberly, and if her appearance was anything to go by, sheâd been crying earlier, and Kimberly canât help but wonder how long this has been going on, how long Triniâs been hiding this from the rest of them. Â Is this where she disappears to when she ditches out on math with Jason or history with Zack? Â Scrubbing her locker when the halls are empty? Â Sheâd always figured Trini bailed to go and spend time at the quarry or at home, without having to deal with the heavy, burning gaze of her mother, watching every move she made.
âIâ,â Trini hiccups, leaning into Kimberlyâs touch when she drops the damp towel in favor of brushing the other girlâs hair back out of her eyes. Â âI didnât want anyone to see.â Â She sucks in a shuddering breath, forces out the rest of her words slowly, painfully. Â âI donât want it getting back to my parents.â
Thatâgod, that hurts. Â Hurts to hear, hurts to see; Trini looks incredibly small sitting up on this counter, even more so than normal, and her fear is a real, tangible thing that fills the space around them and between them with ease.
The rush of protectiveness that surges through Kimberly isnât entirely new, not towards her fellow rangers, but the acuity of it is. Â She wants to place herself directly between Trini and anything that makes her this scared. Â She wants to wrap herself around the other girl and keep her warm and safe until she stops shaking like this orâhellâmaybe even forever and that thought alone terrifies Kimberly.
She shoves the feeling aside for nowâthereâs time to unpack that and all that it means later. Â Right now, Triniâs still crying, her shoulders hunching as she tries to make herself even smaller, tries to take up even less space and Kimberlyâs aching at the sight of it, at Triniâsardonic and kind and stubborn Triniâlooking so fucking small.
âCan Iâ,â Kimberly starts, unsure of how to phrase her question but knowing it has to be asked. Â âIs it okay if I hug you?â
Trini looks up at her, her dark eyes wet and wide and then sheâs leaning forward and wrapping her arms around Kimberlyâs waist and sobbing into her neck. Â Her fingers twist in the fabric of Kimberlyâs shirt, pulling her closer, so Kimberly steps between Triniâs legs and slips her arms over Triniâs shoulders, tucking the smaller girl securely underneath her chin.
She doesnât say anything deep, anything meant to do more than soothe becauseâbecause what could she say? Â Thereâs nothing to make this all better for her, to take away the deep-seated fear that lives in Triniâs bones, born of nearly two decades of her motherâs vitriol and othersâ cruelty. Â Kimberly can only hold her andâ
well. Â Now that she thinks about it, there is one other thing she can do.
She fleshes the plan out a bit while Trini cries herself out on Kimberlyâs shoulder. Â When her sobs give way to sniffles, then a few deep, shaky breaths, Kimberly figures out the right words. Â âYou deserve so much better than this,â Kimberly tells her, because she feels like itâs something Triniâs not told enough and thatâsâit fucking unbelievable, honestly, and itâs a wrong that Kimberlyâs setting out to right. Â Trini sucks in a breath like sheâs about to dispute the statement, so Kimberly doesnât give her the chance. Â âYou are a kind, loyal, loving person,â she whispers, âand you shouldnât ever be made to feel ashamed over who you love.â
Trini manages a gross, mucus-y sort of laugh, her breath hot against the dip just above Kimberlyâs collarbone. Â âSorry I cried on you,â she mumbles sheepishly when she pulls away; she doesnât get far, because Kimberly keeps her arms around her.
âTrini.â
âYour shirtâs kind of gross now. Â I got snot all over it."
She really did. Â Kimberly canât be fucked over it. Â âYeah,â she sighs. Â âBut itâs worth it.â
âKimberlyâ.â
âItâs worth it.â Â Youâre worth it, she wants to say. Â More than.
But Triniâs got this look like she might start crying again if Kimberly says something like that and honestly? Â Kimberlyâs maybe just reassigned making sure Trini never cries to, like, Priority Number One.
She swallows the words that are threatening to choke her now, says instead, âThis oneâs going to need a stitch, I think.â Â She smooths her thumb over the skin just below the cut behind Triniâs hairline, careful not to apply too much pressure. Â âI can probably manage it back at the ship,â she adds, even though she knows that by the time they make it to the ship, the gash will be long healed.
âI should change your name in my phone from Fighter Pilot Barbie to Paramedic Barbie at this rate.â
âJesus,â Kimberly groans. Â âWhy am I still Fighter Pilot Barbie?â
Trini flashes her a small, lopsided smile. Â It doesnât reach her eyes, but it brightens her face a little and Kimberly watches with something akin to hope flaring in her chest as Triniâs shoulders relax, loosening under Kimberlyâs arm. Â âBecause you didnât like my other nicknames for you,â she retorts.
The air feels lighter nowâKimberly feels like theyâve slipped out of the darkest timeline, or they almost have, even if Triniâs face is still bruised and Kimberly canât forget the word written on the girlâs locker down the hall. Â Triniâs joking and smiling a little and so Kimberly finishes cleaning her up, moving quickly and distracting her with idle chatter about what sheâs missed during the day.
When sheâs done, she tucks Triniâs hair behind her ears and steps back to survey her work. Â âWell,â she says. Â âYou still look like Rocky from the final act of Rockyâ.â
âI should be so lucky,â Trini deadpans.
ââbut youâre as patched up as I can get you at school.â Â Kimberly drops her hands, one resting on Triniâs knee and the other trailing down Triniâs arm to lace their fingers together. Â In the safety of the bathroom, out of sight, Trini doesnât shy away from her touch, but rather tightens her hold on Kimberlyâs hand and nods. Â âDo you want water?â Kimberly offers. Â âI think thereâs a vending machine around the corner.â
âWaterâd be good.â
âIâll be right back.â Â When Triniâs grip steels and her eyes widen, Kimberly tells her, âLock the door behind me. Â No one uses this bathroom, but Iâll knock when I come back, okay?â
When Trini nods and drops Kimberlyâs hand, sheâquite frankly, Kimberly doesnât know what comes over her, but then sheâs leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Triniâs forehead; itâs light, barely a brush of her lips over Triniâs skin, but itâs new and Kimberlyâs close enough to smell Triniâs shampoo and she canâtâgod. Â She canât handle this.
As soon as sheâs out in the hall and has heard the deadbolt slide home, Kimberly pulls out her phone.

Her phone buzzes again, but she doesnât check it until sheâs bought Triniâs drink and started walking back to the bathroomâitâs only Jason again, agreeing with her decision not to push for answers today. Â Kimberly knocks three times, a familiar pattern, and slips in when Trini opens the door for her.
âJasonâs going to take you to the mine,â she tells her after cracking open the bottle. Â Kimberly hands it over and adds at Triniâs questioning look, âIâve got a couple things I need to handle before I can leave, but Iâll be there soon.â
âWhat things do you need to handle?â Â Trini narrows her eyes at Kimberly, peering up at her with one hand planted on her hip. Â She sips her water with a slightly raised eyebrow when Kimberly hesitates for a beat too long before answering.
âIâm supposed to meet with my history teacher after school today,â Kimberly lies easily. Â âI just need to check in with her and let her know I canât make it.â
If Trini doesnât believe her, she doesnât call her on it. Â She drops eye contact and starts shrinking the moment they step through the door back into the open hallway. Â Kimberly steers Trini away from the stairs by her locker, pulls her towards the elevator by the vending machines instead so she can be sure Trini doesnât have to see it again.
Jasonâs idling in the parking lot as promised, his truck newly declared road safe even though it still bore the physical evidence of his bull escapade. Â He leans over to open the passenger door when he spots them, nodding in greeting.
âZackâs going to meet us there,â he tells the girls. Â âAnd Iâm picking up Billy from the field.â Â Jason shifts his attention to Kimberly, asking significantly, âWhen do you think youâll be done here?â
âBefore school lets out.â Â She squeezes Triniâs hand as she climbs into her seat. Â âProbably in twenty?â
Triniâs withdrawn again, staring blankly ahead even as Jason nods, calls out a goodbye as he pulls away from the curb. Â Her eyes flick to Kimberly once as she lets go of Triniâs hand before theyâre trained back ahead.
Kimberly stands at the curb until Jasonâs truck disappears out onto the main road and makes the turn that takes them away from town and out towards the quarry.
Itâs still quiet when she heads back into the school; the halls are still empty when she raids a janitorâs closet and collects cleaning supplies.
/
She stinks of bleach and her fingertips are raw by the end of it, but thereâs no trace of the slur anymore and that alone is a triumph. Â Kimberly entertains the idea of moving Triniâs stuff into her locker briefly, but Triniâs so careful with her boundaries, draws them out so clearly and Kimberly feels like moving her shit without her express permission probably kicks through every line Triniâs drawn and she refuses to do that.
What she does instead only kicks through a few lines, she thinks.
Really, itâs dumb fucking luck that she quite literally bumps into Amanda and Rebeccaâshe should have been expecting it, because bad things come in threes and so far, sheâs only at two for today.
âWatch where youâre going, bitch,â Amanda hisses when she and Rebecca stumble back.
Kimberly fakes it, taking one large step back and pretending to be unsteady on her feet. Â Sheâs just about to duck her head and slip away quietly, to attempt the path of least resistance, but then Rebeccaâs taunting, âHowâs your girlfriend, Kimmy?â and everything sort of goes out the window because itâs so obvious and Kimberly canât believe she didnât realize it before now.
Kimberly surges forward, hauls them both up by the collars of their shirts and shoves them back against the lockers that line the hallway. Â âFuck with me all you want,â Kimberly snarls. Â âI deserve it and I know that. Â But leave her out of this.â
âWe were only stating the obvious, Kimmy,â Amanda spits back. Â âLetting the rest of the student body know that sheâs a dâ.â
The anger that courses through Kimberly isnât entirely new, but normally sheâs alone when she feels it this intensely. Â Normally, itâs self-directed. Â Kimberly shifts, presses up with her forearm at the base of Amandaâs neck and growls, âDonât you fucking dare.â Â She presses harder, hears the fabric of Rebeccaâs shirt tear in the clenched fist of her other hand as she repeats, âLeave her the fuck out of this. Â Got it?â
Amandaâs still glaring at Kimberly, but thereâs fear in her eyes too, just enough that Kimberly feels sheâs done her job. Â Thereâs no doubt in her mind that she deserves whatever Amanda throws at herâthere never was and there never will be, honestly, and Kimberly will take anything and everything that the other girl decides to put her throughâbut her team is off limits.
Trini is off limits.
She drops the other girls, stands resolute as they glare and stalk away, throwing insults as they go and threatening to go to the principalâthey wonât, Kimberly knows, but itâs a good effort on their part.
/
When Kimberly gets to the mine, theyâve already migrated away from Zackâs train car. Â She heads to the gorge, throws herself off the cliff face and tries really hard to regret throwing Amanda and Rebecca into the lockers. Â Because thatâsâthatâs fucked up, right? Â Not her place?
The cool water does little to help clear her mind, but what sheâs greeted with when she finally wanders onto the ship centers her.
She checks every one of their favorite spots to hide out in firstâTriniâs, the few Kimberlyâs shown her, the ones that everyone on the team knows about, all places somewhat shielded from Alpha-5 and their alien wall dad. Â The term was something Zack picked early on and that had stuck, much to Zordonâs chagrin and the rest of the rangersâ unending amusement.
Kimberly finally finds them in the makeshift den, the atrium down in the living quarters that one day Billy had asked if they could build a fort in and they just never took it down afterwards, even going so far as trawling second hand shops to find a battered but incredibly comfortable couch to make the center of their Ranger Roost (againâZackâs term).
She nearly doesnât see Trini, sheâs so smothered by their boys. Â Kimberly only spots her by the little bright spot of yellow that stands out next to the deep red of Jasonâs sweater where heâs got her wrapped up in his arms. Â Her legs, she realizes, are thrown over Zackâs lap and heâs got one of her hands covered in his own. Â Her sneaker clad feet are tucked up on the couch beside her, Billyâs hand resting on her leg, his thumb circling the jutting bone of Triniâs ankle. Â Heâs the first to notice Kimberly, looking up and greeting her. Â âHi Kimberly,â he says, his free hand raised and his voice splitting perfectly between worry and relief.
âHey Billy,â she responds, stepping closer. Â âHowâs our girl?â
âShe hasnât said anything.â Â Billyâs thumb doesnât still on Triniâs ankle, even as he looks between Kimberly and where Kimberly thinks Triniâs face is worriedly.
Kimberly nods, squeezes the couch by Billyâs shoulder and murmurs, âThanks, B.â
She comes around to the front of the couch, greets Zack by nudging the back of his head. Â From this side, she can see more of Triniâjust a little, but enough to realize that the other girl is out cold.
âShe dozed on the drive,â Jason explains quietly. Â âBarely made it in here and then was only up long enough to yell dogpile at us before she knocked out.â
Kimberly bites back a laugh partly because Jasonâs got this calm resignation in his voice, like he knows and accepts the fact that he probably wonât be getting up from his seat until Triniâs napped herself out, but also partly due to the fact that Trini voluntarily called a dogpile when normally she rolls her eyes and has to be dragged into it.
RegardlessâZack nods in agreement with Jason. Â âWho do we need to bury?â he asks after a beat.
For half a second, Kimberly thinks heâs joking, trying to lighten the mood, but then he turns his face just a fraction more towards her and heâs not smiling, not even a little. Â Kimberly should probably be worried, but honestly? Â Sheâs just so damned pleased that sheâs got at least one accomplice for when she tries to convince Billy to help her blow up Amandaâs car.
âWho do you think?â Kimberly answers quietly. Â They fall silent then; the only sound in the room is their breathing and Triniâs occasional soft snores and each one twists Kimberlyâs heart, makes her soften. Â âScoot,â she demands finally, pushing at Zackâs shoulder with gentle insistence. Â âI want in on the dog-pile.â
He moves without protest, which surprises her less than it did at the very beginning, when they were all still learning how to handle one another. Â Zackâs incredibly caring, Kimberlyâs found, particularly when it comes to the tiniest, angstiest ranger and he generally cools it with the jokes when Triniâs well-being is on the table. Â He shoves Jason and they shuffle down in tandem, shifting Trini to rest against Kimberly seamlessly when she slips onto the couch to join her friends.
In her sleep, Trini curls into Kimberly, seeking out her warmthâKimberlyâs not surprised by it anymore; theyâve had enough sleepovers at this point that sheâs become well-acquainted with the smaller girlâs tendency to wrap herself around whatever proves softest, warmest, and most accepting of her weight. Â It left Kimberly flustered and blushing on far too many mornings, but eventually she noticed how much easier Trini seemed to sleep with human contact and learned to compartmentalize for her sake.
Right now, though, Triniâs wounds are healing already and she lets out a little sigh as she settles against Kimberly, her face relaxed and her near constant scowl nonexistent for the moment. Â Kimberly wraps her arms around Trini, earning another pleased sigh and causing Kimberly to flush in response. Â Thereâs no immediate shit from Zack over it, but when Kimberly looks up, heâs smirking at her like he knows something; lucky for him, Kimberlyâs got a lapful of a napping Trini and canât quite bring herself to give a shit about whatever Zack may or may not know.
Jason falls asleep next, his head falling back at such an awkward angle Kimberlyâs sure heâll wake with a crick in his neck. Â Billy follows him shortly, but not before snagging one of the pillows off the floor and propping Jasonâs head up on it.
For a while, itâs just Zack and Kimberly still awake; Kimberlyâs playing with Triniâs hair when Zack asks seriously, âSo what do you want to do about them?â
Itâs no mystery who heâs talking about. Â Kimberly takes a moment, a breath, before she answers. Â âDunno,â she says honestly. Â âI mean, I know I want to take a baseball bat to Amandaâs BMW, but Iâll just follow her lead on it.â Â She dips her chin towards Trini, whoâs started snoring lightly, her exhales coming in warms puffs of air against Kimberlyâs collarbone. Â âHowever she wants to handle it, you know?â
Zack levels her with a look that tells Kimberly exactly how much heâs buying her answer, but nods just the same. Â After a minute, he says, âDidnât peg you for property damage, princess.â
Kimberly chucks the nearest object she can lay a hand onâin this case, Jasonâs phoneâand grins as Zack easily dodges it. Â âHey,â she warns lightly. Â âOnly one ranger gets to call me that.â
âYouâre so whipped,â Zack laughs. Â He laughs even harder when Kimberly blushes; she knows she deserves that quip, knows she brought it on herself, but it still makes her defensive, just a little.
âAm not.â
âAre too.â
âAmâ.â
Trini shifts in Kimberlyâs lap, twisting her fingers into the hem of the other girlâs shirt as she grumbles, âYouâre both stupid. Â Let me sleep.â
Zack shoots Kimberly a shit eating grin when she immediately snaps her mouth shut, her hands busying themselves with Triniâs hair again. Â Shut up, she mouths at him.
Go to sleep, he throws back.
Whatever. Â Kimberlyâs not whipped just because she does actually settle down, leaning back against the arm of the couch and bringing Trini with her, head on her chest.
She closes her eyes to avoid Zackâs raised eyebrows.
/ /
âHey,â Kimberly greets the next day, swinging up and through Triniâs window in the early morning light. Â âI have a proposition for you.â
Trini snorts and throws Kimberly a surprised smile, one that makes her throat tighten, her heart turn with how bright it is. Â âKimberly Hart,â she gasps, âare you literally propositioning me?"
Rolling her eyes, Kimberly rights herself and straightens. Â âI am, I guess,â she says. Â âI think you should move into my locker.â
âLittle early for that, hm?â
Kimberly pretends to not notice the way Triniâs voice cracks; she also pretends not to notice the little flare of warmth, of hope that takes hold in her chest when she considers what the break in the other girlâs voice might mean. Â Instead, she nods. Â âMaybe,â she agrees, âbut how many times have you had days like yesterday?â
For a second, she thinks sheâs finally said the wrong thing, finally gotten Trini to shut down, shut her out completely, because Triniâs expression flattens, goes dead in the blink of an eye. Â She doesnât still, though, just ducks Kimberlyâs gaze as she keeps shoving things into her bag for detention.
âTrini,â Kimberly presses, desperate for some sign that she hasnât just fucked whatever their relationship is to high hell.
âDoesnât matter,â she says in a tight voice. Â âItâs not your problem.â Â She reaches for the beanie on the corner of her bed and Kimberly, knowing itâs the only chance to get a real answer, steps between to block her.
Trini looks up finally. Â Her eyes are still a little puffy, still a little red; with ranger healing, her bruises and cuts have faded and her eyes should be back to normal by now, which only confirms what Kimberly worried about through the nightâthat after they all went home last night (or, more aptly: after Alpha-5 and Zordon forced them all to go home), Trini spent the night crying.
âJust drop it, okay?â
Triniâs voice breaks a little on the request and sheâs watching Kimberly with narrowed eyes, like she doesnât half-trust her to be in her space right now and that sort of breaks Kimberly into a million pieces. Â That Trini still expects that her lot in life is to suffer alone, to deny any care before it can be denied to her has Kimberly wanting to hurt any and every person that has ever hurt the girl in front of her; she wants to track them down and demand why they would hurt a person so kind, so intensely caring.
Kimberly wonât drop itâcanât drop it, because Trini has always deserved more than this and to think that she doesnât know that is almost too much for Kimberly to handle. Â She softens a little more, reaches back to grab the beanie and hand it over to Trini before she perches on the edge of the other girlâs bed. Â âHey,â she says softly as Trini shoves the beanie over her hair. Â âIâm sorry I upset you, I didnâtâI should have phrased that better.â
âYou donât have to treat me like Iâm made of glass,â Trini snaps. Â âIâm not going to break.â Â And at leastâat least this is familiar? Â Kimberlyâs used to this, used to Trini trying to provoke a response that she feels better suited to handleâannoyance or anger or teasing, anything other than heartfelt care.
âI know,â Kimberly says simply. Â She lets the statement rest between them for a moment. Â Then, she begins again. Â âBut I also know that you shouldnât have to deal with this at all, Trini,â she sighs, âand you really shouldnât have to deal with this alone. Â I just want to be here for you.â
Triniâs scowl had been softening a little with each passing moment, and, with Kimberlyâs last declaration, it disappears entirely, replaced with a carefully constructed neutral expression instead. Â âYouâre really willing to risk shit like this happening at your locker again?â Trini asks flatly, as if expecting Kimberly to rethink her offer suddenly.
Itâs as good as an agreement though, and Kimberly nods quickly. Â âOf course,â she hums. Â âI thought I made it pretty clear that youâre more than worth it.â
The statement slips out without her meaning it to, but then itâs there, settling between them and for a split second, Kimberlyâs sure Triniâs about to cry againâher eyes start shining and her jaw tightens and guilt sits heavy in Kimberlyâs chest. Â But then her expression clears, her mouth twisting into a smirk that seems to brighten the whole damn room even as her eyes still shine.
âSap,â Trini accuses lightly. Â âBut yeah, whatever, if youâre so desperate to deal with me twenty-four seven, Iâll move into your locker.â Â She moves to shoulder past Kimberly, head for the window and Kimberly canât explain this either, canât reason why her hand whips out to grab Trini around her wrist and pull her back, into a hug.
âSorry,â Kimberly mutters into Triniâs hair.
She can practically feel Trini roll her eyes, but she doesnât pull away; in fact, she leans into Kimberly a little more, brings her arms around her waist. Â âIf you ever tell anyone about this,â Trini grumbles into Kimberlyâs neck, âIâm going to throw you into a wall or something.â
âNo, you wonât.â
âNo, I wonât.â Â The shorter girl lets out a little sigh then, her breath warm against Kimberlyâs collarbone. Â âBut seriously. Â Zackâs gonna give me shit if he knows I went down without a fight.â
âYou know he wonât,â Kimberly hums. Â âNot about this anyway.â
Trini huffs out something that sounds an awful lot like an agreement and pulls away slowly, like it pains her. Â âYouâre sparring with him today if he does, though,â she tells her.
âI thought we could spar together,â Kimberly says quietly, biting back a smile at the way Triniâs cheeks redden.
âYouâuh,â she stammers. Â âYouâre just saying that because you donât want me to get hurt and you know youâll pull your punches.â
âNot at all. Â Iâm gonna kick your ass, like always.â
Trini narrows her eyes, her mouth twisting up into a smirk even as her blush deepens. Â âYouâre so full of shit,â she says, the tips of her ears turning red. Â âAnd weâre going to be late if you keep making me all sappy and whatever.â
âWhen have you ever been on time to detention?â
âWell, princesa,â Trini drawls. Â âIâm there temporarily, so my tardiness doesnât really matter, but Iâm guessing youâre also here to insist on driving me? Â And your tardiness does matter. Â Therefore, weâre going to be on time today.â
âYouâre so bossy,â Kimberly whines, pulling a face and biting back laughter as Trini shoves her towards the window. Â Thereâs some grumbling behind her as Kimberly launches herself out the window, catching herself on the sill and twisting to grin at the other girl. Â Triniâs still red-faced and Kimberly canât help but add with a wink, âI think I like it.â
She drops her hold on Triniâs windowsill and falls to the ground with grace, landing lightly on the still dew covered grass, but not before she hears a strangled squeak of a response above her.

gooey louuuieeeâs
sry it has been a while, i have been busy! and i only have four restaurants left on the k8eatsphl list! however, i have a feelin i will only make it to two (HOPEFULLY THREE) of those left.
i made it to gooey louieâs yesterday! not sure how i found out about this place, but i think it was from google maps. was just browsin in south philly and was the name of this place is so magnetic. gooey. louieâs.
to set the stage: on thursday i woke up, went for a run, walked 5 boxes of stuff to philly aids thrift (a total of 3 miles back n forth), and moved my bed from the third floor to the second floor (hired a dood from taskrabbit cuz this was not an easy job, but itâs so much cooler down here). also we in a heat wave so sweated profusely during all of these activities. and all i ate all day was some ritz crackers n pb cuz thatâs all i have in my house right now.
so by 4pm was gettin p hungry! originally i was gonna get a pizza cuz that way i would have something to snack on for multiple days, but i wanted MEAT. and when i looked at pix of gooey louieâs sammiches i saw MEAT. look at this pic of their bologna sub:Â
(pic not mine)
so i walked 1.1 miles to gooey louieâs through south philly, down 2nd st which was way more south philly feeling that moyamensing ave, which i took to get to the dutch. i walked through mummers neighborhoods (silk slipper i think?) n past very scary lookin bars.
i heard gooey louieâs was in a weird shopping center n they werenât lyin. it was like in the middle of a bunch of diff parking lots and definitely looked like an apartment courtyard.
(pic not mine)
when i got inside there were some ppl crowded around the deli bar in the back. there was a guy takin a phone order n when he got off he was like âand what would you like?â. this was my first time ordering a cheesesteak n i was really nervous cuz i think people can easily tell if youâre an outsider if you donât know how to order. if youâre from around here iâm sure ur parents groom u to order a cheesesteak in a certain way. but everyoneâs gotta have a first time!
so i ordered âa large cheesesteak with provolone, peppers, and onionsâ. n he was like âu mean hot peppers?â n i was like âyaâ and he was like âand how do you want your onions, raw, friedâ n i was like âfriedâ. n he was like âand you donât want any sauce or anything?â and i was like ânah iâm goodâ. n he told me i had a few orders in front of me so thereâd be a wait n i said âthank uuuu!â. phew!
so i walked around the store. they had so many flavors of cheese puffs n potato chips. also a wall of tastykakes. i bought some of those too cuz i have NEVER had a tastykake and u kno itâs like a local delicacy. bought two things godaâs friend johanna had recommended: buttermilk frosted cream filled chocolate cupcakes and kandy kakes, which are like pb chocolate cakes.
some other ppl came in after me n i listened to their cheesesteak orders for future reference. one guy came in and asked for whiz and they were like âwe donât got whizâ. one guy got mayo, ketchup, salt, n pepper! kinda wish i got mayo. and american cheese.
eventually i got my sammich. got in line to pay for it. the guy ahead of me was def like a preppy guy but he seems to eat at gooey louieâs often cuz he knew his exact order. he was buyin a shirt tho and that really threw ppl for a loop. the cashier had to go dig through boxes up front. then there was this tiny little old lady with a raspy ass smokers voice behind me n she was like âgo ahead honey you was firstâ so i was like âthx u!â but when i got to the counter the cashier knew the smoker lady and got her usual cigarettes out (these $5 unfiltered cigarettes i had never seen!). paid for my sammich and went outside to get an uber, cuz i didnât want my sammich to get too soggy before i got home.
got in my uber and talked to the driver, who is from algeria (a first for me!) he was really nice, but he also wasnât paying attention and way overshot my neighborhood, then he didnât want to drive on any of the roads theyâre repaving (which is all of them), so p sure it took as long to get home by uber as it would have by walking.
unpacked my sammich, which was dripping:
then like less than 5 min later my plate looked like this:Â
the bread didnât get too soggy. it was def a meat filled sammich! but still wish i had gotten mayo and american, for a lil more gooey-ness. ate this, then all of the tastykakes, and i was still hungry!

âDude, you got this.â
âYeah, well, what if I donât? Our asses are on the line here,â Bambamâs worried tone reverberates from your phoneâs speakers. You have it on loudspeaker mode because you were in the mood for some mint chocolate ice cream. You just got home from classes today and boy was it scorching hot outside.Â
âYes, you do. And no, theyâre not. Youâve been practicing nonstop for this comeback, Bam, I think you have it all down by now,â you repeat a little louder than usual as you open the freezer and take out the pint of sweet and cooling treat.Â
Setting it down on the kitchen counter, you cap the lid off and start digging in with your spoon. âAnd why are you so nervous? Youâve never asked me advice on how to handle stage fright ever since we knew each other,â you comment through the melting of your favorite dessert inside your mouth.
âAre you eating ice cream from the pint again?â He suddenly asks, a tone of amusement lingering in his voice. You automatically hug the thing of ice cream closer to your stomach, eyes peering at the phone resting near you. âHowâd you know?â
âJust a hunch.â You can just hear him shrugging smugly.
âYou wish you were here,â you retaliate, scoffing as you take another scoop. You make sure he captures the sound of you scraping the soft and gooey substance of sweetness. You know you should be encouraging him right now, but teasing the boy youâve known for quite a while now is always a treat in its own way.Â
âI do. I do wish I were there,â he agrees somewhat seriously. Youâre unsure whether he was talking about having ice cream or something else, but you brush it off, not wanting to think about such complications right now.Â
You put the spoon down and attempt to bring the previous conversation back. âReally, though, Bam. Youâre going to do amazing, as always. Donât worry too much about it, alright?â You tell him earnestly. If Bambam had never asked for any reassurances with you before, maybe this time he really needed it.Â
A slight pause occupies the air until you hear him exhale shortly on the other end of the phone call. âYouâre right, youâre right. That makes me feel so much better. Thanks, fam,â he answers with a hopeful tone.Â
Shaking your head, you protest, âNo problem. And donât ever call me âfamâ again, fam.â
âWould you like to be called something else then, hmm?â There he goes, back to his usual zany self which you canât help but blush aboutâŚ
Did Bambam just make you blush?Â
âI would like you to call me when Iâm not busy enjoying my ice cream,â you tell him, going back to eating your lunch for the day.Â
âYou didnât even start eating ice cream when I called you in the first place!â Bambam interjects and you soon chuckle at his predicament. You hear a few conversations bubbling up in the background, even recognizing Yugyeomâs whining to one of the hyungs, maybe Jinyoung, youâre not quite sure.
You move your position to the couch, setting down your phone on the coffee table. You hear a distinct voice referring to Bambam and he responds, but youâre too focused on your ice cream to eavesdrop.Â
âI have to go in a few. Whatâre you going to do afterwards?â He finally addresses you. You ponder his question until you realize youâve forgotten something really important.Â
âShoot! I have a major presentation for my History class tomorrow!â Spoon hanging in midair, you slowly place the ice cream pint next to your phone, feeling guilty of even opening it up.Â
âAnd you havenât started on it yet,â Bambam muses. You groan in agreement and slap your forehead lightly. âNo, because I thought it was happening next week.â
âToo distracted with me, huh. I have that effect,â the boy on the other end suggests, a smirk almost evident in his voice. You laugh mockingly, but the anxiety in you keeps rising. âGuess I have something to keep me distracted while youâre performing,â you conclude, probably feeding his ego even more.Â
âThatâs good, then, at least itâs not another guy,â he jokes and you roll your eyes. âWhatever, snake,â you shoot back.Â
âAnyway, I got to go, weâre shooting in a few,â he tells you, almost begrudgingly. âHey, I really appreciate you answering the call.â
You smile at his genuine reply. You rarely see this side of Bambam whenever you guys are together, or even just talking on the phone. You feel a sense of warmth in your heart, and you honestly donât know what to make out of it. But you donât let it get to you- not yet.
âOf course. You know Iâm here,â you mutter softly.Â
âAnd me too,â he chimes. Another voice, presumably Jaebum, informs him about getting ready, so you anticipate Bambamâs good bye. âNow I really need to go. Iâll message as soon as possible.â
âFor sure, Bam. Good luck! You never fail to do your best,â you add, making sure heâs still reassured. Bambam thanks you again, and the call ends.
Now, onto cramming that damned History presentation.
Adding a few finishing touches here and there, you finally have a decent 10-slide presentation for your class tomorrow morning. Stretching your arms upward, you let out a relieved sigh, yawning in the process. Making sure that the file has been saved to your laptop, Google Drive, and USB, you turn your laptop off and trudge your way into the comfort of your bed.Â
The digital clock on your nightstand reads 11:24 pm and you feel quite proud for completing a procrastinated project before the day ends, roughly speaking. You ease your way into the duvet, grabbing your phone to the side for a late night session on a few of your social media accounts.Â
You go to your Messages and remember Bambamâs call from earlier. You wonder whether the performance was a success- it probably was, and Bambam just had cold feet, but you already texted him two hours ago complaining about History being your worst subject ever and how lucky you are itâs your first class of the day. You type a new text, informing him of your success nonetheless and hoping he had a fun time today as well.Â
Before you can hit the send button, a chat bubble appears on Bambamâs end first. Your eyes widen at the screen and your lips part in surprise.Â
âWhat theâŚâ You utter under your breath, hands suddenly sweating at the sight of your phone, Bambamâs selfie showing on the bright screen. You squint your eyes to confirm what youâre seeing is right.Â
You hit backspace on your keyboard and type a new message with quick and shaking thumbs.Â
Wrong number, headass.Â
He reads it immediately and your heart skips a beat. Your eyes cannot seem to focus on anything else other than the blurry selfie of a jet black haired K-pop idol. You find yourself mesmerized at his cerulean contacts and drawn to the straight and full pink lips. Breath hitching, you mentally urge yourself to stop giving in to your thoughts.Â
Undeniably, Bambam broke every puberty challenge out there, and not a day goes by without you reminding him that- much to his satisfaction. But you complimenting him was always out of good faith as good friends, nothing more and nothing less.Â
However, recently, things have been a bit blurry between the two of you. It doesnât help that his constant teasing makes you more conscious of the type of relationship you guys are slowly developing.Â
And this selfie isnât helping.
lmao what do you mean that is supposed to be sent to my best friend
You share a room with Yugyeom. Just show it to him in person lmao
not himmm, my OTHER best friend. u. anyway, like what u see? ;)
WTF are you talking about, you never send me selfies before???Â
aww is it that bad, b? :,( itâs just a lil smth to motivate u with ur presentation. hows that going for u, btw?
Again, with the weird ass nicknames, Bam lmao? And youâre just a few minutes too late bec Iâve finished, but thanks for trying.
Also, no, it actually looks really good. :)
pshhh u like itttt bb ;) oh, hey thats great. u should go 2 sleep by now.
and really? donât play me, bb :,(
It does! Your face is blurred, so itâs perfect.
wow bye
You chuckle to yourself at the playful conversation. Typical Bambam, but you still canât help but be confused at any underlying message of all this. Or maybe thereâs not any and your mind is just running irrationally due from the emerging crash of the caffeine. Maybe thatâs it.
You think of sending him a meme- of himself, might you add- until he follows a new text.Â
blurred like our relationship, right
Dropping your phone to the side, you bring a pillow pushed to your face and scream into its plush surface. You feel the heat coming off of your cheeks, chest heaving in and out as well. What was that all about? Has Bambam been aware of the unusual tension you, yourself, have been feeling towards him the past couple of weeks? Why is he speaking up about it now?
that was stepping out of the line of being corny. iâm sorry lol
You notice that he was trying to play it off cool, but now that youâve gotten a signal from him acknowledging the uncanny stage of your relationship right now, you wanted to go all out. With Bambam, you need to know whether heâs serious about this or not.Â
You retreat the pilow away from your face, flustered at the suddent flight response you just pulled off. You certainly cannot be this embarrassing once you confront him, thatâs for sure. But realizing you might have been absent for a while, you gingerly take a hold of your phone and type a new message with a plan.Â
When are you free, Bam?Â
You need to discuss this to him in person. You need to see it in Bambamâs eyes. You see the typing animation show on and off as heâs probably contemplating on what to say to you too.
iâm free for a few hours after our morning radio interview
Perfect. Iâll meet you at the cafe near my university at 12. Sounds good?
yeah yeah ofcÂ
Okay. Iâll see you tomorrow, Bam.
you too. uhhh good night?
Good night to you too, Bambam. :)
âHeadass, over here!â
A guy in stylish clothing, together with a black cap, black sunglasses, and black mask whips his head towards your direction. His tall stance and sense of fashion already singled him out from the lazily dressed college students surrounding the cafe right now, including yourself.
You end up sleeping three hours later after your conversation with Bambam, different scenarios of your meet up today forming in your head, some with good outcomes and others unspeakable. You couldnât believe that you were able to set up a âdateâ with him with the intention of confessing the uncertainty you have in regards to affectionate feelings towards him.Â
He walks over to the corner of the quaint little shop, a cold drink already in place before his seat. You donât see his expression quite well, seeing that his whole face is covered with different kinds of masks, but you hear him chuckle as he relaxes in front of you, inspecting the drink shortly.Â
âYou know me too well,â he finally says, lowering the mask to his chin so he can take a sip of his favorite drink. You grin at your accomplishment, chugging the iced coffee you bought for yourself as to keep your nerves from taking over you- which was ironic since youâre gulping down more of what keeps you shaking right now.
âHow was the interview?â You ask nonchalantly, watching his every move. Bambam glances up at you and nods his head, âIt went really well. More enjoyable than your presentation, that I could say.â
Glaring daggers at him you counter, âShut up.â He cackles at your response, and then the two of you instinctively easing into your normal conversations of mundane stories and brutal banters, almost forgetting about the original reason of you meeting him here.
But you didnât mind, not one bit. You missed his physical presence. Just seeing a hint of his crinkling eyes from the shade of his visor is enough for you to feel comfortable around Bambam. He genuinely is the best person you know. You both never have to think twice about saying something potentially wrong, because the other would just use it at their advantage but at the same time turn it into an inside joke between the two of you.Â
There was something that he declared which made you stomp your hand down the table in rejection. He chortles at your dramatic expression and casually lays his hand on top of yours. Your face quickly realizes this as you retrieve your hand back to your sides, squeezing it tight to stop it from trembling at the sudden contact.Â
Bambam notices your discomfort and coughs awkwardly. âSorry, sorry. I ruined it, didnât I?â He admits, looking down in frustration.
âNo, no, Bam itâs not that,â your attempt in fixing the matter at hand was futile, and you wish you have more time to stall, more time to just have mindless fun with the best guy friend youâve ever had in a while.Â
But seeing that your stomach churned and jumped in itself after a simple touch of your hand, you had to tell him how heâs made you feel. Or else youâre going to go nuts.
âWhat are we, Bambam?â You blurt out, eyes fixating on the empty cup of beverage sitting idly on the table. âAnd donât make it out as a meme, âkay? Iâm asking it seriously,â you follow up with a scrunched face, making sure that Bambam knows youâre done with fooling around.Â
You peek at his face and he seems to be smiling shyly, hand that was once touching yours now scratching the back of his head. You find yourself wishing you never took it back.Â
Shaking your head, you whine at your inner frustration. âI⌠I think I like you, Bam. And I donât know why Iâm saying this now but recently, youâve been saying weird stuff to me that gets me all flustered and red and you canât see that because we havenât seen each other in a while, but when we do I try to suppress it just because I donât you to think Iâm weird or something like that but our conversation last night messed me up big time, and now I donât know if suppressing it is going to help anymore and I just -â
You stop yourself from losing air in your system as you inhale and exhale. Your hands have been clutching themselves tightly on your lap and you let go to feel the blood pumping again. Youâre afraid to look up and see a confused Bambam staring at you, but before you can contemplate any further, you hear a soft laughter resonating from him. And it wasnât that of mockery, so you slowly turn your head to reveal a blushing adolescent boy before you, hands covering his eyes under a pair of expensive sunglasses.
âAw man, you beat me to it. Why do you always do that to me?â He complains cutely. You titl your head in confusion.Â
âI was supposed to confess first. Do you know how ashamed I feel right now?â He takes his hands off his eyes as well as his sunglasses and you finally see his eyes. Glistening in hope and anxiety all at the same time, but the beauty in them never left. You are taken aback, but you try and keep it together as he gulps down and stares right back at you.Â
âYou always beat me to things, but that doesnât mean I wonât confess anymore. Yes, Iâve been trying to get your attention more frequently because Iâve⌠developed feelings for you, and I didnât know how to handle them other than be more annoying than usual.â His assessment of the situation makes you giggle, and it prompted him to keep going.Â
âI was really happy I got to talk to you when I was feeling hella nervous yesterday. It made me confirm my feelings for you and that you make me comfortable in whatever situation weâre in. The selfie I sent you last night was just me trying to see if you kind of feel the same way, and I honestly didnât know what to expect from there.â He brings his hands on the table and plays with them mindlessly, biting his lip as he looks down.Â
âIâm sorry if Iâve made you feel frustrated by the way Iâve acted, Iâm just a dumb adolescent boy who doesnât know how to handle his feelings well. But I was honestly really glad we got to hang out today, you know I missed you a lot. So, Iâm sorry if this ruins everythingâŚâ he trails off, seeming to want to say more but his tongue prevents him from doing so.
You keep your eyes on him, not exactly knowing how to respond correctly. He gives you a full minute to contemplate on your own before he looks back up at you, pausing with his hands and smiling sheepishly. âAny response from you would be great right now.â
âShoot, Iâm sorry,â you say, lips in a tight line. You think for another few seconds before finally making up your mind. âCâmon, letâs take a selfie.â
âW-what?â
âCâmon, Bam. You have a better camera than mine, so go get your phone!â Your tone was firm but encouraging at the same time. He hesitates for a second but complies nonetheless. You scoot next to him, your arm slightly touching with his. You falter a bit, but you feel Bambam relax with your touch and you smile as you move in a tiny bit closer.
He positions the phone at the perfect angle and you see him trying out a few different expression before his thumb presses over the button. Your smile grows wider at the sight of him assessing himself, but you quickly peck the soft surface of his cheek and beat him to taking the selfie.Â
Without waiting for his response, you snatch the phone away and inspect the picture. Content with the image, you show him the screen.Â
He looks at with his eyebrows furrowed, but immediately understands and reveals a goofy grin. You nudge his elbow playfully before resting your head on your shoulder, already feeling at ease with your position.
âNot so blurry now, huh?â You ask him. He pats your head in response and squeezes your shoulder reassuringly, the touch of him making you want more.
But for now, this is enough.

Theyâre not like âoh ur hair falls perfectly and your laugh lit up the room come back to me I feel so alone everythingâs darkâ itâs got stupid shit like âremember when we spilled wine on the floor when we were drunk and spent the whole night laughing and trying to clean it up and made it worse and then we just put an ugly rug over the stain I miss nights like thatâ and it hits.

30: A song that reminds you of yourself
Iâm⌠not sure I have one. Usually I think of others or characters when I listen to music, rather than myself. Even with like, romantic songs or whatever, usually I imagine Iâm the one singing to someone else, thus making them the focus rather than me.
WAIT
Want You Gone from Portal 2. Because Iâm a spiteful little thing and I desperately want to sing this song at so many people
