for you i offer up a kingdom hearts au. because. um. well that's what i have

now ok technically there's a lot of... shall we say backstory to this au. but the main attraction is the fact that the dominos fall in the right way so that radiant garden never falls. none of the worlds have by kh1 in fact, meaning that when riku opens the door on destiny islands, that is the event that triggers the heartless' .i suppose the word for it is escape. this, predictably, triggers the fall of destiny island, much as it had triggered radiant garden's in canon. however, when the world . explodes. and riku gets himself dragged into the realm of darkness. there is notably no traverse town for sora to land in. so instead he crash lands in kairi's backyard or something in (drum roll) radiant garden. obviously the two of them become fast friends and she agrees to help him find this 'riku' kid he's looking for now that he's settled into the new world properly, especially once the palace scientists start acting .weird. and the stars begin to slowly disappear

essentially it's kh1 but what if no ansem( sod)/xehanort and kairi and sora finally get to travel together :)
