just a wordy lil update from me, feel free to read or ignore

hello all who are reading. I hope y’all are having or had a beautiful sunrise wherever you are. I have been up all night (again) because my sleep schedule is currently nonexistent. 

to start off with some good news i’m almost to my follower goal (500) and i really would love to do a fic giveaway for y’all if that’s something any you would be interested in. I’m a little hesitant because i would hate to offer it and then like. no one would request so... idk yet. please let me know if you’d be interested in one maybe? 

Another good note, i know i’m down on myself a lot but i’m actually quite proud of how much i’ve written this summer, 17 fics since June! And not to mention i finished Lucky Seven, honestly any time i finish a longfic that’s huge for me.

Speaking of, i’m really going to be putting all my time writing into Almaty’s fire. I’m really determined to finish it. It’s going to be a challenge with this upcoming semester, not going to lie. I’m dealing with a lot of anxious and nervous energy right now. I’m always like that at the beginning of the year and until i feel settled again, i hate change of routine so much.  

This summer has been a really crazy ride for me, it’s been great but also really painful and changing (because surgery x2 and hurricanes can do that to a girl) so i’m trying to put forth positive energy as this new season begins. 

All that said, I may not be as active here. I think that’s a given, and it breaks my heart because i can sense this fandom/the otayuri ship becoming less active in general. but seriously if y’all are still around when i’m on school hiatus or whatever any words of encouragement or comments on my fics or just general cheerleading would mean so, so much to me. I’m sure some people could care less if i ever post another fic but I really do love writing and I want to at least finish Almaty’s fire.

so that’s enough from me, i feel really deflated now getting all that out. This was very rambly and confusing but honestly....mood. 

Anyways, I hope everyone has a wonderful, stress-free and creative day, I really hope I adjust to this new schedule and upcoming life stuff soon so that I can write more and just be here for y’all. I love you all so much 💗💗

8. Do you read WIPs? 

YES! I actually love following stories and waiting for new chapters to come out. It’s actually the only way I manage to read longfics, because I’m kind of a slow reader and I know it takes me a long time to read those monsterfics (they intimidate me and if they’re already too long I only mark them for later and it’s really sad but yeah…….). But reading one chapter at the time is more manageable so I’m able to follow those stories that way.

13. Has a fic ever made you cry? 

A more appropriate question would be: has a fic ever NOT made you cry? Lol, I basically cry for almost every fic I read, for some reason I cry because of fluff just as much as I cry because of angst *shrugs*

14. What tropes/elements/scenarios get you the worst? Hum... I think it’s when character A falls apart and isolate him/herself, and then charater B just shos up and help A back on tracks (after being yelled at and hugged a lot at the same time).

29. How do you feel about non-con and dub-con? I don’t like it. I hate it in a relashionship so I won’t read it in a fanfic... We can play, that’s no problem, but I just can’t stand the non-con.

Your First Fic:

Oh god, it was a Beyblade fanfic wayyyy back when I was like, 13 (which was over 10 years ago jesus), and the ship was Kai/Ray because that was my OTP then. I got an encouraging review from my favorite author back then and I was so happy! It’s still up on ff.net and I go back and reread it sometimes when I’m feeling nostalgic or want to feel good about how far I’ve come since then, but no way in hell am Iinking you guys.

Your Most Recent Fic:

pin your heart to my sleeve

I don’t actually think the hearts thing was my original idea, but if I got the inspiration from somewhere I’ve forgotten. It’s my favorite soulmates/magical realism verse to write for though. This is the second fic I’ve written for this verse, and there will probably be one fic for this verse in any future fandom I write for as well. I just, I love the concept a lot okay.

Your All Time Favorite Fic:

those who move mountains

once i caught a fish alive

those who move mountains is obviously better-written; I’ve had a lot more practice since once i caught a fish alive and you can clearly see that I’ve improved, but nothing that I’ve ever written required as much, hm, restraint as once i caught a fish alive. There was so much backstory and character motivations that did not make it into that fic in order to preserve the mystery and to let the readers draw their own conclusions. This was the fic that taught me the value of letting the readers interpret your work as they choose, and not as how you intend them to interpret it.

As for those who move mountains, I think it’s the peak of my writing, hands down. It left me with the knowledge that it was good, no matter what anyone else had to say about it. It’s on a different level, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to recreate something as good as I know that was.

Your Most Challenging Fic:

pin your heart to my sleeve

The concepts in that are just so fucking abstract, I struggled a lot with putting the whole thing into words that other peope could understand. @shortprints had to tell me over and over again when I was being too vague and not making sense to anyone but me. I honestly thought I’d lost the ability to write altogether while I was writing this one, and I cried actual tears over it. I don’t think I’ve ever hated myself or my writing as much as I did when I was writing that, but when it was over, it was good, you know?

Your Most Self-Indulgent Fic:

easy like sunday morning

I wrote it because I kinda wanted to say fuck you to the fandom and depict friendships and relationships on an even ground. JackHoltz one of the rarest rarepairs in the omgcp fandom; I didn’t expect anyone to read a longfic about them. I wanted something that I could read that was to my exact specifications of how love should be, so I wrote it entirely for myself. (And then people seemed to like it which was a surprise but so flattering guys)

Your Favorite Line you ever wrote:

omg I don’t know. I don’t really remember any details of I wrote after I’m done writing; mostly just the feelings associated with it. I remember this line from here’s to the glory still to be, though

“Viktor kisses like he skates, like he wants to carve his name into the space between Yuri’s lips.”

idk it’s really simple, I thought it was so in character for who Viktor would have been at 16. But let me give you something funnier from Avengers Naked Calendar 2016

“Why, Barnes,” he purrs, batting his eyelashes. “Do you really think I’m that impressive in a suit?”

Bucky stares at him.

“Tony,” he says. “I have literally fucked your father.”

Sam chokes. Natasha falls out of her chair. Steve covers his face with his hands, shoulders shaking with silent laughter.

“What,” says Tony.

“Howard,” Bucky clarifies, because no one taught him mercy, probably. “Howie? Your dad. I may have known him in the, y’know. Biblical sense.”

“Oh my god,” says Sam, thumping at his chest.

Tony’s heels sink to the ground. “Howie,” he parrots, like it’s the first time he’s heard the nickname. It probably is, if Bucky used to call him that.

“So I’d appreciate it if you didn’t flirt with me?” Bucky continues, shifting his feet. Holy shit, he’s not kidding. “It makes me a bit uncomfortable.”

Ugh I’m laughing at my own writing I suck but I love this WWII-era Bucky/Howard headcanon a lot

It’s a Victurio/Victuuri/Otayuri/except-not-really-any-of-the-above faeries AU for the Victuuri reverse bang. Maybe I should’ve put this one up as my most challenging fic because let me tell you, at 32k I am so ready to be done

just talking to myself, i guess

so i have plenty of ideas and plot bunnies and notes and stuff, but i just haven't yet gotten myself to make them into anything yet. i have plans for an otayuri longfic, and a music!au that i might make into a series of drabbles. then there are the little headcanon posts and oneshots i'm thinking about, but i dunno! maybe it's the ocd/adhd combo, but sometimes my head gets so crammed with inspiration and plot ideas and shit that i just stall. sometimes i have to lay down for a while just to sort through everything and try to alleviate that pressure in my head. (and of course that's time i could be using to, y'know, make something to be proud of.) *sighs* oh well. i'm going to kick my ass into gear one of these days.

This is not a situation that Yuri would normally have any complaints about.

It is a sound Yuri knows. It is the scream of the wind over water. It the wail of the rain through the forest and across the plains. It is the clenching of the earth as winter freezes it over, and the churning, roiling storms above the mountains. It is the howl of the wildfire as it tears through the meadows, and the last, desperate cries of the creatures as they burn it its grasp. It is a scream of death, and of grief. It is a mourning song.

“What do the Fae look like?” Mila presses.

Apparently surprised by her seriousness, Georgi frowns. Then he stands up, and goes to put his book back on the shelf.

Uhoh. It might be too late to go back now.

“The model for the Fae was so perfect that the gods created humans in their image.” Georgi says, slowly, as if reciting something for memory. His hand rests on the spine of the book he just replaced. His robe, usually so dramatically mobile, is still. “But they contained the essence of the gods’ energy.
