Today is Des's birthday and her wonderful men congratulate her along with her friends and comrades~

She'd lifted his hand with her own, light, almost playful between their lips, to kiss. "Good enough."

I enjoy the concept of Orpheus being a physical safeword in Orph/Voss/Van's strange polycule when Voss is getting a bit too wild; a bit too beyond the line with Vanquish.

Sometimes it annoys her. Sometimes she just wants Voss to push her to see how far he'll go; how much she can take.

A silly wee comic about the translation of the tir'su between Orpheus' tits <3

I changed the rest of the tir'su on Orpheus' chest to fit my HCs and feelies, though. And the comic is funnier to me if I go with my HC that it was Voss who tattooed all of Orpheus' tatts. He's a silly old man.

Note: the tir'su Voss is reading also spells something out but from his POV :3

When I initially learned the meaning of sha va zai, I spiralled into the HC of the meaning of love in githyanki society and the lost words and meaning of affection in their people. And tied it deeply with the relationship of Kith'rak Voss and Orpheus who are so old they have been there since their enslavement, their beginnings.

If you know me well, you know my tav and Voss get together, and then all three get together in an unbreakable bond. Maybe it's love for all three. Maybe not as we understand it. Maybe it's beyond it.

I have so much to say about the githyanki and their expressions of love, intimacy affection and how as a people they feel so deeply, but what does that mean when you speak in violence, touch in claim, the taste of love weakness that will shatter your bones, vulnerability bile on your tongue.

Vanquish and Orpheus initially have a very rocky start to their relationship and love, but their love, I think, becomes beautiful and almost unbreakable. Gentle, peaceful, fierce, understanding - in comparison to her and Voss alone who are so wild, unyielding, passionate, life and death, desperate, need and need.

All three of them balance each other out. For better, and worse.

“Want a list?” Vanquish says, floating atop a swathe of void tentacles, knees against chest.

“It’s messy,” he says, launching in for another blow.

Vanquish is prepared. Catches him playfully with one of Caiphon’s tentacles, pulling him to his back. But he’s right. She’s messy, and fucks it up, hitting the ground face first and laughter. 

Then he laughs too. Wrinkles as he smiles, warping the tattoos on his face, baring his fangs.

“I think I like you, sh’k’nal.”

“About time.”

Breaker of Chains is her official title within the githyanki, first spoken by Kith'rak Voss. Dread Eye is what she was known as in her past under Nezarr. And Adilshar is for Voss' tongue only.

Where for the first time, Orpheus joins in with Voss and Vanquish rather than just watch his lover, and other.

You are more githyanki than you know, still echoes. Confession. Declaration from Voss as he'd touched her. All of her all of her— Orpheus had heard his confession that night.
