osc builds rapport with the reader by creating so many like. inside jokes or memes (enemy's gate is down, battle school slang, correct pronunciation of bonzo, achilles) and i think that's part of why the enderseries has been such a cult classic like. it feels like you're an In Group if you understand it. this feels connected to mormonism somehow
