i’m always the last to know when it hits, it’s really easy to wave off the weird hot flushes and spaciness as side effects from my regular medication, ya know? dazai pretends not to notice when i start stealing items of his to nest with, he knows eventually i’ll be grabbing at him instead of his discarded coat.

ohhhhhh, gosh. it’s not the most pleasant time, dazai hates rutting season. he doesn’t like the intensity of everything. so he sorta … numbs it. he takes suppressants that makes him feel distant, during this time he’ll likely be holed up in his little flat.

it took a while for him to let me spend his rut with him, initially he didn’t like how much my presence made him feel. then realised it was actually really fucking comforting to have warmth and touch while he waited out the week or so.

there isn’t much talking, or much of anything. but i’ll sit with him, try to offer anything he might need, until he feels ready to exist again.
