Do elves have a last name?

Certainly some groups do!

Dark elves last names are based on precious stones or rocks. Qashin Ave Obsidian, V’Valic Ave Opal, ect.

Sun elves have a second name, usually their mother or fathers, then their last name is that of their village. So Soleil Ayad Sul Sable basically means Soleil (whose father was) Ayad (who was born in) Sable.

Wood elves are straight forward, you’re named after the tree you were born under. Orno Oak, Nettle Willow, ect.

Frost elves have intricate names, often based on stars and spirits. Mothers can sometimes receive a name for their child from a dream or vision, in which the child tells them their name (Independence and uniqueness are important values to frost elves).

In some cases the gestures a newborn made can trigger memories of a deceased family member, who will then become the child’s namesake. As a result, children sometimes receive multiple names upon birth in order to decide which one best suited their personality. Over time names which are deemed to not suit are removed. This explains their often exceeding long and complicated names. Prince Sila Glimmer the Forth, Glint shimmer Nova Cascade, ect.

High elves maintained naming conventions from their ancient Iron Elf ancestors, and so they have no last names. Titles serve as a replacement. Admiral Yalar, Ambassador Senjun, ect.

Mycelium Elves are just named after the land they inhabit. Do you live near some stalactites? Then your last name is dripstone. Lots of glowing fungus near you? Then your last name is blue glow. Melo Slaterock, Skor Riverway, ect.

So now ya know! Get out there and make your elf names!
