12. What’s something that makes them laugh every single time? Be specific!

Dirge has a critical weakness for puns. Minthara truly is the funniest person he knows. "It was a beautiful webbing" kills him EVERY time, and this was true pre tadpoling too. He just took himself so seriously and projected such an intimidating presence, no one ever tried.

45. What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?

Dirge loathes clothes shopping with a vengeance. Its a combination of being surrounded by people, cramped spacing, and dealing with a monotonous repetitive task. I dragged him through the lower city to get better drip and dark urge dialogue, and in his canon Astarion wanted new duds and he got stuck outside the changing room with Naaber. It was a bad day to be afflicted with the Urge.

36. Who do they keep in their life for professional gain? Is it for malicious intent?

Dirge's primary profession is being Jeff The Killer and there isn't really anyone one can use for professional gain in THAT career. Post epilogue he struggles a lot with a general lack of direction and kind of just freelances using his skillset of murder, alchemy, dungeon delving, necromancy, and general encyclopedic knowledge and arcanic study to just kinda do whatever, but prioritizes anything that benefits Minthara and her political moves.

Now, Minthara's web of connections most DEFINITELY include a collection of people she keeps around exclusively because they benefit her and can be utilized in the future, and it IS 100% for malicious intent, because they're function is to be exploited and then discreetly discarded. Anyone in contact with Minthara inevitably comes into contact with Dirge, who playacts accordingly to advance Minthara's goals, but when the timer runs out, Dirge is going to be the one who gets to play clean up. So I suppose that counts as someone he keeps around, for her sake!

last book: I'm reading Nona the Ninth, as most people who follow me know, because they have to endure it in recaps. I have a bunch of non fiction books I'm also going through for different reasons, but I'm reading them slowly because I either save them for specific moments or I'm working on something with them (for example, there's The Light of Discovery by Toni Packer, which I'm currently carrying around if I have to go somewhere, a bunch of tarot history books including but not limited to: Letitia Barbier's Visual Archive, Paul Huson's Mystical Origins of the Tarot, Joseph Campbell and Richard Roberts's Tarot Revelations, because I'm making my own tarot guide, very focused on historical depictions, artistic renditions and symbolism).

last movie: I've been catching up with award season the past month and writing one sentence reviews of all the films in letterboxd, which I might share on tumblr when I'm done, the last one I watched was Queer, the Guadagnino adaptation.

last tv show: bob's burgers, as previously established, but I'm also watching star trek tng, beyond goodbye and drag race s17

Who does your OC hate?

Dirge is so so very full of hate for SOOO many people, and its honestly one of the emotions that comes easiest to him. While hes fairly strict and selective about his love, owing to its intensity, Dirge hates freely, often, overwhelmingly, and at the drop of a hat. If you hurt someone he cares for, physically or emotionally, unless you are ALSO someone he cares for, he hates you. If you inconvenience him multiple times in a row, he hates you. If your Ketheric Thorm and unconsciously trigger his religious paranoia and guilt and remind him of his father issues, he hates you. If your an authority figure with an inflated sense of how much power you actually have and you try to boss him around, he hates you. If your Lorroakan and you put your hands on the jackass tiefling wizard hes kind of sort of stumbled into having some kind of passing interest in, he absolutely fucking hates you. Dirge hands out hatred like candy on Halloween. It's how he has fun.

Who has your OC made cry?

Dirge gets into a lot of stupid petty arguments with kids, and because he keeps getting roped into interacting with kids, hes made two of them cry, Silfy by being a complete weirdo and advising her to get into serial killing, and Arabella by awkwardly delivering the news about her parents. Beyond that, theres the sheer overwhelming amount of grief Dirge is responsible for, and on top of that an innumerable amount of general rando's who've had the misfortune of being in his vicinity on a bad day.

Besides that, Dirge's stint at the temple of Bhaal definitely made a LOT of people cry, but I don't know if that counts as Dirge's fault.

Which canon character doesn't respect your OC whatsover?

Not a single tiefling kid has ever given Dirge an ounce of respect and contributes greatly to his on-going tally of "times hes argued and lost to someone under 14". Auntie Ethel also doesn't respect him at ALLLL despite all the ass-kicking he hands out. You will never, ever, convince a child to think you're cool, and you will never, ever, get a hag to respect you after dedicating an entire day of your single mortal life to thoroughly shitting on everything shes established in the middle of the boonies.

Ironically I think Raphael does respect him but its not mutual. Realistically Raphael has to respect him because Dirge hits like a freight train and frequently puts himself between Raphael and things he desires, but I think Raphael really really doesn't want to hand a single goddamn thing to him. Unfortunately Dirge has a close range 3d10 eldritch blast and a spike wall 15 feet behind you set on top of an Evards Black Tentacles. Forced to respect him at gunpoint
