I'm not done here actually. Dehumanization like "zombie sheep" is in direct opposition to the kinds of strategies we are going to need to survive after January 6th. Yes, these people voted for something horrific, but they are still people and as things get bad most of them are going to be negatively impacted– and when that happens we need to be there to support them because that is how we get them to join us and fight back. Everything that makes them susceptible to right-wing propaganda will work in our favor in the right circumstances.

We simply will not get anywhere if we are determined to not see people we hate as people. Humans can learn and grow, zombie sheep cannot.

ETA: Since people are misconstruing my meaning here, we punch fascists on sight. But if someone says "I didn't realize this would happen when I voted for the fascists" or there's even a single crack in their loyalty you scoop them up ASAP no matter how much you want to toss them off a cliff because with a bit of compassion you can get them to turn against the fascists, and that is how we win.

ETA: Since this is tumblr and I am sure someone will accuse me of pissing on the poor here, yes people who've become bigoted because of misinformation and propaganda cause harm, and no you should not engage with them if it is not safe for you. Young people have GOT to stop talking about conservatives like they're scary menacing monsters. Yes the policies they back are horrifically destructive but that's entirely because of how individually stupid, fearful, emotionally stunted, weak willed and catastrophically gullible they are. That all is what made them become right wing to begin with. Just the most easily manipulated zombie sheep on earth.

Reading your Delphine thing, I have two thoughts. First, I don't like some of your explanation for why they divorced, because smart woman who has ideas to fix the Psychonaut's finances is what Hollis is already doing, and Truman mostly seems to want her in charge, so it's hard to imagine him being that resistant to help from his wife.

But I do really like the idea of Delphine trying to involve herself in Truman's work, because it could mean that when Lili says "the Psychonaut's aren't what they used to be" she could be parroting things her mother says, maybe because Delphine is bitter, and views Truman's more casual style as being a bad way to run an organization.

I wasn't thinking that it was Delphine's involvement in helping in finances that he didn't like, just the decisions she was proposing and sometimes beginning the process of acting on without his behalf. Like fighting for MORE government involvement in the project which she overtime started to reveal she thought needed some serious reform because it was just a bunch of old people sitting on their hands after a disaster. They needed another big grant and to work more like a real government organization for a while otherwise they were going to go under. Because Truman wasn't any good at finances. It wasn't that Truman didn't want to relinquish control of the financial department it was that he didn't want to be asking for any more help because he didn't want to bring in any additional eyes from the gov. looking at how they were running their program. There had never been talk of defunding the Psychonauts and he just wanted to keep flying under the radar. Delphine scheduled a call with a connection she had anyways and there was a big argument about her trying to make that call despite what Truman had said.

She had taken his agreement that the Psychonauts were currently inefficient and needed some reform as an invitation to bring in the big guns in terms of money. She probably could have found a way to really help them but Truman was tainted by nostalgia and family ties I think and wanted it to stay the way it was, at least for now. I kind of think he'd be the type to string things along in general, and he probably did that with his marriage. That he wouldn't act on things until they'd already become a big problem. When he fired Bob, he had already became a much bigger problem than if he would have tried and help with the situation sooner. When his marriage started to fall apart due to both of their constantly busy schedules and disagreements on whether or not the Psychonauts needed more help, he just tried to limp it along forever, thinking that it would get better at some point. Because that's sort of how he grew up, just struggling through one thing for a long time before eventually you exhaustedly get to the other side and things turn out "okay" right? The arguments stopped but so did conversation with Delphine. She'd still let him speak to Lili on the phone, but stopped wanting to talk herself. She didn't dislike Truman by any means, but they just couldn't make a long distance marriage work. Especially when both of them spent every waking hour thinking about their jobs and neither of them was willing to give up the opportunities and responsibilities their jobs offered.

That's why I think the marriage ended in a civil way. Not like a "we always fight about money and I don't want your help" way, just in a "you didn't grow up around this organization and lack the proper emotional connection to the project to fully understand that I don't think this is the best way to help my project" way.

As far as Hollis goes, her talk of finances comes off as fully pinching pennies, because she's working with the small budget that they already have. Truman doesn't want to touch the budget, and he trusts Hollis' judgment on it. Hollis shares the same "there's probably things that it would be best not to share with the people funding us so I'd prefer if there wasn't any more government meddling in the project" mindset, especially considering her inciting incident to join the Psychonauts with Dr. Potts.

I think Delphine's help could have helped the Psychonauts be a lot better off financially but could have changed how the management there worked. Hollis would probably be a lot less stressed out about it. Part of me likes to think that the Psychonauts eventually changes pretty drastically as an organization on account of them essentially running out of money, and the project has to be continued in a different sort of way.

He'd think: what if those 100 of people are all assasins? They'd cause more deaths. But short answer: yes.

He can't say much about the assasins because he himself isn't a saint either.

His position as the boss of the [REDACTED] (HAHA sorry I don't have a good name still... But it's a not so legal organization) requires him to be cold-bloodied. Emotions? They're just things to weaken a man (like humans, in general). They serve no purpose if you want to be a good boss, sacrificing everything to make your fellow organization see the light. He has excellent leadership skills. Everyone in the [REDACTED] rather than kneel to him with fear, they kneel to him with respect. I mean, maybe the newbies and subordinates that aren't wings do fear him a little... But that's because he's the boss! Of course if they appreciate their lives a lil' bit, they'll think twice before creating a conspiracy cult against Liraz.

Before becoming the [REDACTED]'s Boss, people would gladly tell you about how much of a charismatic and easy to talk man he is! Though, even back there, he was a sweet little Devil with his manipulation tactics. He was a natural at it, accompanied by his intelligence? Oh yes. But don't think he was manipulating people just because. He didn't actually add manipulate people into his daily routine. He started to when he started working for the —previous— [REDACTED]'s Boss. How did he even get involved in shady bussiness...? ... Well, he was a shady doctor (?)

And at that time, his bestie (winkwink) broke up with him (winkwink) 'cause he was becoming too evil for his taste. Basically they're a divorced couple now. Though they never became a couple, they're an old divorced couple, trust.

Anyway, back to the topic...

He didn't let his emotions go in his way even when he had to deal with children. This man almost has a baby fever! Yet he still resisted the urge to spare them... Memori, Kai and Kian are his favourite kids, no doubt. There may be a slight favoritism with Memori thanks to her participating in his very legal medical activities, but meh.

The list would go like:

2. Kai (... He sent him to his death).

3. Kian

He never lost the composture. His mask was one he has been wearing since his birth. Never letting anyone see past it. The perfect poker face.

Maybe that's why his men are still a little wary of him, because they know if they're no longer useful to him, he won't doubt to trash them.

If he wants to kill you, he won't do it right away. He'll wait until there's something he may win with your death. That's what happened with Kai.

Now, why would he sacrifice his strongest man? Okay maybe that was for plot reasons-

Well, because if he ever died suddenly, they'd assume he had chosen Memori as the new boss since she's his right-hand woman. The problem? At that time, she was or too cold and detached or overly emotional. And she has no leadership skills for such a big place. He could've easily discharged her from her job at the [REDACTED], yes. But then people would assume they're free to attack her, and she'd no longer have to obey Liraz's orders compulsorily. He may wake up in a coffin if that happens. And second, Kai's death would bring them more benefits than losses (two of his most skilled wings leaving). Oh, but he still had Kian. The one who would be a wing if not because there are only 4 wings and all 4 of them were occupied. Now there would be only 2 wings out of 4. So Kian could be another wing. That means, he still had some gems in his organization. And he trusts blindly that Memori wouldn't reveal anything sensible to anyone about the [REDACTED]. Because even if now their bond is broken, he's confident that Memori isn't the type of person to spill good-hidden secrets. Plus, now they're officially (who-knows-how) a legal organization, so why even bother to try to ruin it?

That was his reasoning. And it did go just as planned. His prediction skills are great, too.

And he does have an ability? What is it? Hmm... That is a top-secret data even for the [REDACTED] members... But maybe it isn't that hard to guess?

Yes! Of course! I'm not sure if you ask them individually or together (as friends or something) so I'm gonna do them separately, I'm sorry if it's not what you wanted. Also, quick aclaration, in my minors note I hcs Soda as a teen and Devil as a kid. So, lets start!
