This is an anti-Trump/Project 2025 rally at Colorado's state capitol yesterday. It happened to coincide with raids by ICE in Aurora, CO. Thousands of people turned up. Attendees took turns making speeches on the capitol steps. While there was plenty of "Fuck Trump" and "Fuck Elon" messaging, the night's overall sentiment boiled down to solidarity among many, many causes. We heard and chanted about trans rights, homelessness, Palestine, climate change, immigrant rights, Black and Hispanic and Indigenous dignity. We told each scared and grieving speaker that we saw them, heard them.
I think some might be frustrated at the scattered and unfocused messaging, but each of those fronts is a battle worth fighting. And there are so many of us who care about each, and if we can learn to stand together and care about and support each other's causes...
There are many, many reasons to hope.

#colorado#us politics#my posts#btw don't freak out abt the american flags#organizers suggested em to undercut the 'anti-trumpers are anti-american' messaging#which. mixed feelings but generally speakers were very clear that their vision was about what america should be#not what it actually currently or historically has been#now to channel all this energy into action!
