What are you doing today? I’m hosting a simple Thanksgiving for a few of us at my cozy and quirky home where I also work (the white tree’s kind of a joke - been up since August when my hubby snagged it at a yard sale 🤣 Think he thought I’d be mad but I love it!) What are you wearing? I’m in my new favorite sweater from @fahertybrand via @byellowtail and a long loose shift maxi dress from @shopvesta. I don’t have a ton of new clothes but these are heirloom quality pieces I’m honored to own and will wear for the rest of my life. Very cozy! This sweater is my version of a designer handbag. I bought it on Indigenous Peoples Day from Bethany Yellowtail, a Native American Designer I’ve followed for years, long admired and lusted over her collections! It’s made in Native America, Organic Cotton, and exactly the kind of sweater that was missing in my wardrobe. I live on Native Haudenosaunee land here in Central New York and am honored to do my best to tread lightly upon, honor and give back to it. I have deep heartache over the murders that occurred right here along “Sullivan’s Trail” and understand my white privilege and am ashamed of it. I am here to learn and share and encourage everyone to #BuyNative and donate to Native American Organizations like @nativeorganizersalliance this holiday and whenever you can. I am also here to give and to receive and I am truly grateful for all that I have and all that I can share.
