no excuses for the kids who chose to participate (that is until we get more info) but do you think laws are going to be written to overpolice these neighborhoods? to police what they can and cannot wear? you think the national guard is going to be called to just hang around their blocks? when white people do their dirt white people at large get a pass that black people don't. because of them there's been tough on crime laws past all over the country that will specifically target black and brown communities. they won't target the communities starting up and running the entire operation cuz those lily white communities must always be protected. it is always the black and brown communities that must feel the brunt of the after effects of s*** like this.

yeah so i didn't draw stick figure comics today because i was busy tabletop roleplaying as a robot who used to be a person and is now extremely full of herself because she's convinced she's the most intelligent being in the universe and- oh no this is another accidental reference and it's the worst

Prompt 178
So first of all he’d like to say it wasn’t his fault. He wasn’t into magic stuff, that was all Billy’s schtick. So really, it is not Victor’s fault that he accidentally activates some sort of sigil and suddenly ends up with a very confused looking child.
A young girl, maybe four or five, with bright red eyes, slightly pointed ears, and what looks to be some sort of living suit partially fused with her body. Alright, okay, he doesn’t have to freak out, he’ll just… call one of the Justice League Dark members and get her a spare shirt or something to wear until they come to the Watchtower!
It’s fine, he’s fine. He’s not having memories to when he first got melded with all of this tech that’s now a part of him and feeling sick at the idea of it happening to a child.
He’s not fine.

Everybody has voting power! I have my own preference, but I'm really curious what would you chose! Let me know in the poll and don't forget to share so we reach 40 bundles sales! We are not that far!! If anything is unclear just let me know <3 Also, I imagine the button pin would do great on a grocery bag, I think it would associate for me with the calendar bundle, and therefore remind me to take the grocery list (written on the Klance seasonal to-do lists XD) mmezzy.bigcartel.com
#klance#laith#talking about reminders and all#i always thought of myself as an organised person - not very aethetic kind or organization but i always thought of myself as diligent#but apparently my methods to remember are unusual like leaving a bag in the middle of the room#like forming one habit and then attaching things to that habit (ex closing doors so things i need with me land next to the keys so i see it#i leave hints for my brain that will make it go 'huh weird'#literally if id be scared to forget something id change my phone wallpaper or leave a open book on the counter#but it does not happen THAT often i am constantly reality checking anyway#i just like to be prepared

Thinking of how Jien collects things that remind her of her home during her missions and simple outings, sometimes it can range from one item, a simple souvenirs, but other times it is bags worth of items and she sends them all to her house on the Xianzhou, essentially hoarding all the little things in which she finds a sense of belonging. Her collection grows every time she goes somewhere. It makes me sad.
#-stories of old#oc ramble#oc#hsr oc#she has a vidyadharan friend that takes care of her home while she is away on missions and she receives all these packages so they're not#damaged#and when Jien returns its this more traditional looking home full of souvenirs and rocks and paintings and embroidery pieces#carpets made by hand with thick wool or thread with flower motifs or tigers or lions#there's children's toys in one room#still in their bags#it's a little museum of memories she's trying to scrape by from this world and freeze time#she often sits in silence or soft tunes as she soaks in all these things she collected#she doesn't move them much either#she keeps them all in one place and its all organized - she could find these places if she was blind or in the dark#:((#honkai star rail

Questions post-release of The Edge of Sleep
Is the dog okay? Did the dog also get possessed? Or are dogs exempt from sleep death and brain branding? The dog was in their cage for quite some hours, which may imply that dogs and potentially even other animals are immune to the beast.
Are possessed folks unable to die from blood loss or drowning so long as they have the mark of the beast?
Who else thinks the doctor isn’t actually dead (there were other doctors at the facility) and was suspiciously on-board with everything happening to Dave?
Is the doctor actually a host for the elephant (alternately just being influenced by it)? Yes, this is partially because his distorted voice in the sleep tube sounds the same as the beast, but the depictions of the beast in peoples dreams does get explained later as being different for everyone (probably based on environment).
Why was he trying to put the moves on Dave’s mom? Probably part of a manipulation tactic or he’s just weird and I’m overthinking his role in this.
What if this is all a dream and Dave is just stuck in one of those sleep pods still? We have yet to see a flashback where he’s a teenager of any sort which gives us a huge missing gap in his memories.
Another question relating to the previous ones is why did Dave see Matteo(?) and Katie(? or is that Linda?) in the sleep pod dream world place very briefly in the the trailer? EDIT: Okay so whoever that is next to Katie/Linda in the cut footage seems to be someone else who would succumb to or almost drink the beast juice (sorry, I didn't know what else to call it).
Are their IRL selves in on it? (this seems silly in hindsight, but I'm not deleting it)
ACTUALLY YEAH JUST IGNORE THESE TWO PREVIOUS ONES ONES, THIS WAS CUT TRAILER FOOTAGE, I WAS TIRED.
Is Dave in a coma and all of this has been one big dream fantasy he’s been in for a long time? If so, how long?
Much like the question of “is the dog important,” is the doctor’s memories when he was talking about his trauma important? Will that come up later given the talk of a season 2 for the original podcast?
Does the Elephant’s host bodies feel pain or is it zombie rules and they’re basically just drones that’ll keep going as long as they have some means to move around?
Do y’all think we’ll get a season 2? The series is pretty good as a stand alone thing imo that kinda lets you fill in the blanks, but I personally would like to see more in some capacity.
What did the dream people mean by “power?” Is Dave capable of the occult?
Does the Beast have access to its host bodies memories and motor skills? We see Katie’s body walking through the water. Could the beast hypothetically fly a plane if it got the right host body to do so? Could it control an entire military fleet?
What is the doctor’s connection to the supernatural happenings of this reality?
Was Markiplier the voice of the blue Modafalyst pill and the voice over of the ad that was playing on the TV in the hospital?
Was the doctor trying to get his loved ones back through the sleep pods like how Dave got that pen into reality from his dream?
How come all of the surviving main cast has had some sort of government or implied government-related job position? Was that intentional?
Each of the surviving main cast also has a double letter placement in their names too, intentional perhaps? This one is probably a reach, but I thought it was interesting!
Why did only one guy foam at the mouth when he "died?"
Why is there a difference between the pill colors in the trailer and in the final release of the show? We're the colors going to be swapped initially? Is it or was it maybe supposed to be a Matrix reference?
Also did Dave's mom seem a little too okay with what was going on at times? Does that have to do with the doctor trying to put the charm on her? Although having someone finally listen to your child's issues and have a clue about what's going on would put you in a vulnerable position, also single mom seemingly.
Who did Dr. Luis Castaneda lose and why did a dream person show up? Was that someone who left him to go live on Aristera for one purpose or another?
How many hours was Dave awake in total? So far 87 seems to be a close enough guess, somewhere in that area.
How are the dream people able to teleport into Mark's dream? How is the beast able to get into anyone's dream now that I think about it.
#this is a very unorganized list of a bunch of questions I have following the end of season 1#it's kinda funny that they used a pic from in space with markiplier for mark lol#its interesting that the trailer actually has at least two unused shots btw; the one with Matteo and Katie seemingly eating something#and the one with the possessed body moving around inside the bag in the hospital hallway#the cut footage seems to be of Linda or Katie almost giving into the beast controlling them along with Matteo but I could be wrong#was so tired i mistook trailer footage as actual footage that's my bad#rewatching this to grab screenshots tells me that Dr. Luis Castaneda is absolutely important to the story here but idk why yet#anyway enjoy my tired questions and ramblings; I know cut content doesn't necessarily count as canon; Katie's scene was foreshadowing#anyway go watch edge of sleep on amazon prime I stayed up way too late finding screenshots and things for this#how did dave see Katie's demise before it happened? that's also kinda weird; future vision?#mine#op#the edge of sleep#teos#teos spoilers#cw blood#cw gore#tw body horror#cw organs

EARTHSPARK SPOILERS ABOVE AND BELOW!
For a kids show, I'm glad that they're able to touch upon serious topics like the effect war has on individuals and, in this case, species. I think TFA is the only notable TF show that wiggled its finger and made clear yo these are fucking aliens. But even there it felt one sided, as in, robots finding organics gross.
In TFE, you get so many perspectives on the Cybertron- human relationship and I love is so much. You have people who embrace it and accept each others differences. You have those who have internalized xenophobia but don't notice. People who don't care and just wanna be themselves and live in peace. And those who outright HATE the other species.
Visuals: the first half had its animation mainly focused on action. and while there is still action here, the conclusion of the season offers a lot of cinematic shots which tbh kinda took out of the immersion but are awesome screenshot material. it gets really dark as well, and there is a shot with Bee that stood out to me, where he's hanging from a ceiling, and his expression is full of fear. It was grand.
Audio: You still have the same synth wave music (which I like) but you also get some amazing sound designs for animal based alt modes, like Grimlock and Tarantulas. Nightshade unfortunately has this repetitive sound playing whenever they fly, (hawk screech) since they don't have a motor IG??
Characters: The viewer will be introduced to Hashtag, Jawbreaker and Nightshade. They have distinct abilities and personalities. (By now, I can already tell that my favorite Terrans are Nightshade, Jawbreaker and Twitch lol). They're interesting characters and their dedicated episodes were quite entertaining.
The most notable new characters who actually have their dedicated episodes and voice lines are Shockwave and Tara. Shockwave, as you can see from my memes, is a raging classist and racist. He's pure evil. But I really enjoy him because he's so smug. Imagine TFA Shock's smugness but in higher dosage. I fucking love it. HIS VOICE HAS SO MUCH RANGE. reminds me of an evil DJ subatomic supernova. His eye also reminds me of shin godzilla's... an unrelenting blank stare, unnaturally wide. Tarantulas on the other hand takes a much different spin than his BW counterpart. I think he joined the cons and stuck with them is because he wanted equality for all (during a short convo between Megs and Shock it's implied that it was their original goal). He's sick of the war and just wants to survive. He wants to be himself. He does these typical cinema spider noises like hisses, or gargles in his alt mode BUT OH BOY in his robot mode he's one fine fella. And his voice. chef kiss. i think it's British, but can't pinpoint what region.
Plot: Earthspark is gonna build upon the concept which TFP poorly introduced: A villan human faction. TFE is building upon and further fleshing out what they tried to do with M.E.C.H. The execution so far looks very promising.
They have taken their time to introduce G.H.O.S.T for a whole season, and put a bit of effort into showing that the organization is made out of individuals who have different motivations.
Their official motivation is understandable. The "good guys" wanna protect civilians from threats, like bots who break shit. But ofc there are some nasty people in the ranks who are lowkey masochists lol
Also, since Cybertronians are known to the public, it deepens the complexity of the conflict. Xenophobia against Cybertronians ranges from this cooperation to just regular people, who are mad that their planet was turned into a battle ground.
#spoilers#transformers earthspark#tfe shockwave#tfe tarantulas#katzske#meme#according to shock im a sentient bag of goo and i agree#i hope we can agree that organic lifeforms are goofy

My poison ivy! I'm extremely proud of this. backstory under the cut :)
its been in the back of my head that ivy is indian since forever. i literally have no clue why its just There. she's tamil specifically, because i have favoritism regarding the script its written with.. it tickles my brain...
anyways heres my Poison Ivy: Origins comic i made last night in like 3 hours.
(theres a section here on her early life and the backstory of her parents that im still workshopping. basically she was a bastard child that only her mom supported and they left for gotham)
Bhavani got a job as an accountant for a law firm on recommendation from an uncle who had a company that worked in Gotham (he was kinder to the pair). She was always gifted in math. Bhavani raised her daughter the best way she knew how, even without the support of her family.
Pamela (now nicknamed Ivy due to multiple kids misreading her last name as Ivy. And she was very nature-focused even as a kid, digging in the dirt and identifying different kinds of trees using books she got at the Gotham Library with her mother) excelled in school, surpassing most of her peers. The pursuit of knowledge was the one thing she enjoyed. Her classmates were sticky and loud and irritating, and when she wasn’t ignoring them she was tying their shoelaces together as revenge for talking too loud during quiet time. She managed to make just enough casual friends to not worry her mother too deeply, but this was the start of a downward spiral.
She lost friends, and not many could take on the effort of befriending her. She lost herself in biology, the study of life. Especially plants and conservation. Plants were just so… simple, compared to human society. But their structures and functions and genetics were fascinating. She skipped grades to take higher-level classes on genetics. Her grades were phenomenal but her social skills were extremely underdeveloped. Not like Ivy cared. Humans were a plague on this earth, pumping the atmosphere with CO2 and poisoning rivers and cutting down forests. In her mind, they did nothing but harm the serenity of nature she so cherished.
After graduating with a PHD and doctorate, she got a job as a genetic engineer. She studied alternative ways to help regrow ecosystems after deforestation. Her Gotham University coworkers were wary around Ivy. She was a woman none of them knew anything about, who would say ecoterrorist-aligned comments offhandedly the few times she ever spoke.
Ivy was working on a genetically engineered plant on the day of the accident. It was designed to nurture plant species by sending chemical signals, and it took in energy through waste products left by deforestation and manufacturing. At least, in theory.
Ivy was working all alone in the lab at 2am. She hadn’t slept for hours, she was so close to her breakthrough. She was so close to making those billionaire bastards pay for what they did to the earth. She wasn’t wearing proper safety equipment nor using proper containment procedures during the incident. And as such, she was infected. The plant didn’t just take in waste material, it took in living flesh. Ivy’s cells were transformed in a gruesome fashion, her entire genetic code was re-written as it spread through her body. Her skin was green and her lab coat was bloody. Her newly-red hair flowed behind her as she escaped the lab, running through university grounds. Each footstep brought grass and dandelions cracking through the concrete in full bloom. Trees and grass grew to get closer to her, reaching for her.
Ivys powers were completely out of control. She was crying and hyperventilating as her mind was warped. It had given her a need for flesh. When she made it to Robinson park, she couldn’t overcome the primal instinct. Plants still crawling at her ankles, and she killed a squirrel with her bare hands and ate it raw. This only fueled her fractured mind to want more. Ivy's first ever murder was a pedestrian, who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He tried to flee when he saw a bloody green woman with a squirrel carcass in her mouth, but it was to no avail. He was strangled to death with poison ivy vines, and eaten.
Finally, the primal instinct was satiated. Ivy escaped to a warehouse in the industrial district of Old Gotham. She tended to her injuries as best she could, soon discovering she had healing abilities. The injuries from her being torn apart had already mostly healed. She slept on an old couch, dreaming about what she could use these powers for.
When the news broke on the mysterious and grisly death of a random pedestrian, the media was all over it. Since he was killed by poison ivy, and from security footage the culprit was seemingly a woman, the media dubbed her Poison Ivy. Many believed it wasn’t possible, and that the footage was faked, but the GCPD was stumped.
Batman looked through the footage and, by process of elimination (matching the appearances of the scientists who had access to the laboratory, keycard scanners throughout that day and evening, as well as their known affiliations and potential criminal history. Two of them did deal weed but it was nonviolent and they didn’t match the woman in the tapes.)
Dr. Pamela Iyer was the clear suspect. She matched the woman's appearance (besides the green skin and hair, she was a tall woman with long straight hair and a flat nose.) Batman interviewed her coworkers and found she had a history of being antisocial with eco terrorist beliefs. None of them knew where she lived, however. And when the bat interviewed her mother (the only person her coworkers had ever heard her speak to in a positive light) she was very concerned. Suspicious of Batman, clearly, but worried for her precious daughter's well being. She said that Pamela had always loved being near nature, and that she didn’t care for the quality of structure she had to stay in. But other than that, her mother couldn't help. She does bring out the intimidating motherly stare at Batman, making him promise to bring her daughter home safely.
From here, Batman goes on a search. He prowls rooftops and streets and uses the grappling hook for fast travel. All while monitoring city-wide security cameras (thanks Alfred!) and paying attention to police radio. He stops muggings and thefts and helps get a cat out of a tree as he scans Old Gotham.
He came to the conclusion Poison Ivy must be in Old Gotham due to damage on the Robinson Park Bridge, connecting Somerset with the southern island. The damage matched with what had been seen on the sidewalks and streets near the University and the scene of the crime. Dandelions and crabgrass taking the shape of human footprints, cracking through concrete. Batman notices some trees down a certain alleyway in the east streets are warped inwards. Very similar to the trees in the park and university. He follows the unusual growth pattern of the trees, like they were hands outstretching to reach a light source.
There, he finds an old warehouse. He scales the building with a grappling hook, not wanting to be ambushed on the lower levels if he enters on the boarded up front door. Entering through an old broken skylight, he finds what must've been a long abandoned drug dealer hideout covered in fresh blood. Very, very carefully, he examines the scene. But there's nobody there. She just got away, her blood on the rotting old sofa is still warm. He also notes three strands of long red hair, which he places in crime scene baggies for DNA analysis.
His current theory is that the doctor was mutated by her own research. He read her notes and the plant she was experimenting with was extremely dangerous. And the security footage (before it cut out during what he believes was the time of the accident) showed her using improper safety equipment.
He’s on patrol for hours, but can’t find any sign of her.
That night, Bruce synthesizes a pesticide-like chemical that could prevent Ivy's powers. However, he talks to Alfred about how the plant would adapt to it almost like a bacteria, and that it might not be effective more than once.
The next morning Bruce Wayne is scheduled for a charity event. Many rich people are there tied to a business venture Wayne was not aware of. The event was for funding for healthcare systems in Gotham. Little does he know, this is the exact place Ivy plans to attack. She’s hated the rich for years and many politicians and businessmen that support an amazon rainforest deforestation project are there.
She interrupts their little charity event at a historical building in the financial district of old gotham with a surprise. Ivy broke into one of her old greenhouses at the university, taking small samples of extremely poisonous amazon rainforest plants with her. This happened quickly and silently while Bruce was still at the function.
Ivy crashed through the large art-nouveau stained glass windows, supported by giant vines. She is lifted down the staircase like she was floating, more vines and deadly plants crawling in from the giant hole in the glass, moonlight from the full moon peeking through the clouds and illuminating her entrance. London Planetrees from around the building grow in front of doors, sealing all the possible exits.
All of the rich and fancy people in dresses and suits meandering around the building are screaming and trying to run, which is when a mad-with-power Ivy releases her plants.
They grow to gargantuan sizes in moments, releasing toxic spores and fumes and burning people's skin. Ivy finds the most heinous offenders of the rainforest bill and feeds them deadly plants by hand, graphic symptoms ensue.
In the pandemonium, Bruce pulls out some tree facts about the flammability of a certain species, managing to throw a fire source directly at it as a diversion before escaping through a vent in the opposite wing of the hall. Alfred is already outside with the Batsuit, he brought it as soon as he learned of the attack.
Bruce suits up and re-enters. It's a grueling and difficult battle, the most difficult he has fought so far. He manages to spray Ivy with the chemical, and she goes down, all the plants in the hall going still. The excessive toxic fumes suddenly go back to normal levels. Bruce uses an extremely strong tranquilizer on her, she’s still fighting to get up. Finally, Ivy is defeated.
Almost the whole charity gathering was injured in the attack with seven people dead and immense damage done to the structure of the historical hall.
Ivy’s powers are sedated and she’s taken into police custody, where she is deemed insane. Half of the insanity conviction was her actual insanity and the other half was that Arkham is the only facility capable of holding her, especially since it’s located on an island. Batman agrees with Jim Gordon on this comment.
Ivy didn’t say anything during her trial, silently glaring with little remorse. The physician diagnosed her with ASPD (which wasn’t right but it's on her legal documents.)
The comic ends with Ivy in Arkham, talking about the rich swine tearing apart the world, and how she finally has the power to stop them. How she can feel the mutation inside of her slowly winning against the sedative drugs, adapting and consuming the chemical to turn it into energy as it was designed to do. How she will return the world to ecologic harmony, with her own hands. It ends with her in the Arkham cafeteria, staring at a mysterious blonde prisoner a few tables across…
the writing isn't like, a fanfiction. its a guideline for a comic in a series of origins comics im planning. do not get your hopes up these'll be done in like, 10-20 years at my current speed. i have a scarecrow and riddler outline in the works, and plans for a batman, joker, harley quinn and probably a penguin comic eventually. and more villians. once i'm done with all the origins comics i'll be doing like, a regular batman series. just for fun yknow.

No but we need to keep talking about Gaza online, on every platform possible, actively and relentlessly, or they will actually get away with criminalizing any mention of the genocide altogether and that would put the palestinian people, palestinian immigrants/refugees and the people who are still actively advocating for their rights to immense risk.
The milder the general public's outrage gets, the more pressing the danger.
#palestine#not to mention the precedent it sets#I get we are a majority group of broke people and it's a lot and when we can't help anymore we freeze#I get the sense of powerlessness#it's been eating me alive honestly#but I think what we should do is to organize IRL *far more* and bring that back to the forefront of local politics#we can and should give to fundraisers but our real shot at anything is to immensely inconvenience the people we elected#if the grief about children in plastic bags die down it's fucking over for all of us#if we accept this as the new bottom line then what#what becomes the worth of a human life then#what's even the point

serious musings but it's so striking to me how vulnerable the kids who are raised into hunting actually are and by the nature of their childhoods, are practically groomed into being perfect victims. because they've almost always known what goes bump in the night, they can never have been truly innocent or disempowered. they aren't vulnerable in the way that "regular" civilians are because they have knowledge, but it is such a narrow bit of knowledge! they're kids who exist out on the fringes of society and are othered and isolated by the nature of hunting (and lack a holistic social support system) and because they're told that they can't share this with anyone else, that this must be kept a secret, it further isolates them.
and specifically, i think of chrissy chambers, who is told that her father was murdered by vampires and is taken in by an older hunter who is training up hunter kids after having killed off their parents. these kids all know about the supernatural, and being told that a monster killed their parent(s) and don't they want revenge? aren't they strong enough for revenge? with all that knowledge of theirs? why would they suspect the person "empowering" them is also the one who destroyed what little support system they had and is using them to their own ends?
it just really jumps out at me that there's the horrifying reality that these are kids who are held aside from a larger community and told that they must keep a secret and are taught secrecy as second nature. their support networks are narrow and compartmentalized and (from what we see in canon) often fractured by the deaths of loved ones.
these are kids who never really see themselves as victims and i'm floored by just how much that sets them up to be victimized.
#having a lot of thoughts. few of them organized.#i am always turning this rotating this around in my brain like a bag of popcorn#spn
